"For the first time, a deployable solar panel has been fixed on the upper stage," Somanath added. The PSLV Core Alone variant rocket carrying the 741 kg synthetic aperture radar satellite TeLEOS-2 as the primary passenger and the 16 kg Lumilite-4, a technology demonstration nano satellite as the co-passenger blasted off from the first launch pad at <keyword id="6356967" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="satish-dhawan-space-centre" source="Orion">Satish Dhawan Space Centre</keyword> (SDSC) here at 2.20 p.m. The rocketing on Saturday was made possible by NewSpace India Ltd-the commercial arm of India's Department of Space -- by contracting with the two parties. These two satellites apart, there are seven non-separable experimental payloads which are part of the rocket's final stage (PS4). They belong to ISRO, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Bellatrix Aerospace, <keyword id="2623423" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="dhruva-space" source="Orion">Dhruva Space</keyword>, and Indian Institute of Astrophysics. The ISRO uses the final stage (PS4) of the PSLV rocket as an orbital platform for in-orbit experiments and has named it as PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM). The four stage expendable, 44.4 m tall PSLV-C55 rocket weighing 228 ton slowly rose-up towards the skies from the first launchpad here with thick orange flame at its tail. The rocket gained speed as it went up while emitting a rolling thunder sound. The PSLV rocket is powered by solid (first and third stages) and liquid (second and fourth stages) fuels alternatively. The PSLV in normal configuration is a four stage/engine expendable rocket powered by solid and liquid fuels alternatively with booster motors strapped on to the first stage to give higher thrust during the initial flight moments. The rocket that flew on Saturday was the 57th flight of PSLV and 16th mission of the Core Alone variant, without any strap-on motors. According to ISRO, The TeLEOS-2 satellite is developed under a partnership between DSTA (representing the government of Singapore) and <keyword id="275424" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="st-engineering" source="Orion">ST Engineering</keyword>. Once deployed and operational, it will be used to support the satellite imagery requirements of various agencies within the government of Singapore. The TeLEOS-2 carries a synthetic aperture radar payload. TeLEOS-2 will be able to provide all-weather day and night coverage, and is capable of imaging at 1m full-polarimetric resolution, ISRO said. The Lumelite-4 satellite is co-developed by the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) of A*STAR and Satellite Technology and Research Centre (STAR) of the National University of Singapore. The Indian space agency said Lumilite-4 is an advanced 12U satellite developed for the technological demonstration of the High-Performance Space-borne VHF Data Exchange System (VDES). Cognizant closes Q3 with $4.9 bn revenue, to acquire OneSource (Ld)

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) after conducting raids at multiple locations belonging to <keyword id="714947" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="payment-gateways" source="Orion">payment gateways</keyword> i.e <keyword id="6357120" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="paytm" source="Orion">Paytm</keyword> and PayU in connection with a case of Chinese Loan apps, asked Paytm to freeze certain amounts from a few Merchant IDs (MIDs). Sources said the raids were conducted in Mumbai, Delhi, Gurugram, Lucknow and <keyword id="6354925" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="kolkata" source="Orion">Kolkata</keyword>. The ED has not given any official comment on the matter. On September 3, raids were conducted at the premises belonging to online payments gateways including <keyword id="14887233" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="razorpay-pvt-ltd" source="Orion">Razorpay Pvt Ltd</keyword>, Cashfree Payments and <keyword id="14887232" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="paytm-payment-services-ltd" source="Orion">Paytm Payment Services Ltd</keyword>. A Paytm spokesperson said that as part of the ongoing investigations of a specific set of merchants, the ED has sought information regarding such merchants to whom we provide payment processing solutions. "These merchants are independent entities, and none of them are our group entities. We are, and will continue to, fully cooperate with the authorities, and all the directive actions are being duly complied with," said the Paytm spokesperson. The ED has instructed Paytm to freeze certain amounts from the Merchant IDs of a specific set of merchant entities (as mentioned by the ED in its press release). "None of the funds which have been instructed to be frozen belong to Paytm or any of our group companies. As we have mentioned before, ED continues to seek information about certain merchants from various payment service providers, and we have shared the required information," the Paytm spokesperson said. What is the case? The case is based on 18 FIRs registered by the Cyber Crime Police Station, Bengaluru City, against numerous persons for their involvement in extortion and harassment of the public who had availed small loans through the mobile apps being run by those entities. "During enquiries, it had emerged that these entities are operated by Chinese persons. The modus operandi of these entities is that by using forged documents of Indians and making them dummy directors of those entities, they are generating proceeds of crime," the ED said. The ED had said that it has come to its notice that the entities were conducting their suspected business through various Merchant IDs/Accounts held with Payment Gateways/banks. The premises of Razorpay Pvt Ltd, Cashfree Payments, Paytm Payment Services Ltd and entities controlled/operated by Chinese persons were covered in the search operations. "During the search operations, it was noticed that the said entities were generating proceeds of crime through various Merchant IDs/Accounts held with Payment Gateways/banks and they are also not operating from the addresses given on the <keyword id="6355225" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="mca" source="Orion">MCA</keyword> website/registered address and having fake addresses. An amount of Rs 17 crore has been seized in merchant IDs and bank accounts of these Chinese persons-controlled entities," the ED official had said. Meanwhile, a Razorpay spokesperson had said "Some of our merchants were being investigated by law enforcement about a year and a half back. As part of the ongoing investigation, the authorities requested additional information to help with the investigation. Referring to visible indicators of green shoots, theFinance Minister said the forex reserve is at an all time highand the stock market is upbeat."Global sentiment is in favour of India. Budget has nothing for Maharashtra, says ruling alliance

Mumbai, Feb 1 () The ruling Shiv Sena, NCP and
Congress on Saturday termed as "disappointing" the Union
budget, claiming that it did not offer much to the "highest
tax-payers" Mumbai and Maharashtra.
Opposition BJP in Maharashtra hailed the Budget 2020-
21, saying it strengthens the economy and makes provision for
the welfare of all.
"The budget has left Maharashtra and Mumbai the most
disappointed. Mumbai gives highest tax, Maharashtra gives
highest tax to the Centre, but they were completely ignored,"
Revenue Minister and state Congress chief Balasaheb Thorat
told reporters here.
The budget presented by Union finance minister Nirmala
Sitharaman was "old wine in new bottle", he said.
Thorat also questioned the Union government's claim
that farmers' income would be doubled by 2022.
The agricultural growth rate should be 11 per cent to
achieve this goal, while the current rate is not moving beyond
2 per cent, the Congress leader said.
NCP MP Supriya Sule said, "Sensex plunged when the
budget was being presented in the House. It shows the budget
makes no sense."
 The Budget has introduced new slabs and reduced the
income tax rate for different slabs for individual income of
up to Rs 15 lakh per annum, if a taxpayer opts for foregoing
exemptions and deductions.
Referring to it, Shiv Sena spokesperson Manisha
Kayande said there was no clarity about the option offered.
"Who would not like to get a tax benefit? If a person
is investing in LIC or mediclaim, why would the person not opt
for tax benefit? People basically make these investments for
tax benefit apart from getting insurance (cover). So there is
no clarity on this," she said.
The Sena leader also expressed concern over "closing
down" of government-owned enterprises like Air India.
"It is a major drawback. Plus, they are banking
completely on LIC. Almost 290 million people invest in LIC.
That means the government is eying public money," she added.
Water Resources Minister and NCP leader Jayant Patil
said the budget offers nothing to give a momentum to the
economy.
"Farmers too have got nothing from the budget...the
budget is mere 'jumlebaazi' (gimmick)," the former Maharashtra
finance minister said.
NCP spokesperson Mahesh Tapase accused the government
of "over-commitment and under-delivery" leading to loss of
faith of investors, industry and consumers.
Tapase said the current gross GDP figures do not
support the government's claim about the target of USD 5
trillion economy.
Former Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan said
the budget ignores the burning issue of unemployment and the
Union government was making no effort to increase purchasing
power of the poor and middle classes.
BJP leader and former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis
hailed the budget as "progressive and reform-oriented", saying
it lays the foundation of a "new India".
"The 2020 #JanJanKaBudget lays the foundation for the
journey of Bharat to Navbharat in this new decade, of an even
more developed and modern India with a greater speed ! Kisan
Rail, Krishi UDAN are path breaking steps for our farmers and
will fulfill the ASPIRATIONS of INDIA!" Fadnavis tweeted.
Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil said the
budget takes care of all sections of society including
farmers, women, the youth, tribals, traders, employed and
others in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Sab Ka
Sath, Sab Ka Vikas, Sab Ka Vishwas' (inclusive growth with the

Mumbai, Aug 16 (IANS) The government of Singapore has increased its stake in ICICI Bank as it took up 11.08 per cent stake of the total shares issued in the latest qualified institutional placement (QIP) of the bank's shares with an investment of Rs 1,662.71 crore. As of the quarter ended June, it had 2.12 per cent stake in the private lender, according to the data on the BSE website. In a regulatory filing, the bank said that the government of Singapore was offered over 4.64 crore shares in the QIP amounting to 11.08 per cent stake. It emerged the largest investor in the latest qualified institutional placement of the bank's shares. ICICI Bank has raised nearly Rs 15,000 crore through the allotment of equity shares under its QIP.
