RBI has taken two Srei companies out of board control after payment defaults

<ul><li>The company is likely to announce its share allotment status on October 6.</li><li>The mutual fund company’s IPO was subscribed 5.25 times on the last day of bidding.</li><li>Investors have bid for 14.59 crore shares against the 2.77 crore shares on offer.</li></ul>The mutual fund company Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC is likely to announce the allotment of its initial public offering (IPO) status on Wednesday, October 6. The IPO was open for subscription between September 29 and October 1. The mutual fund company is looking to raise ₹2,768 crore through sale of 3.88 crore shares. The IPO proceeds will go to promoters since the company is a joint venture between Aditya Birla Capital and Canadian firm Sun Life AMC. Both the promoters will jointly sell a 13.5% stake in the company through the IPO. Overall, investors have bid for 14.59 crore shares against the 2.77 crore shares on offer. The portion for qualified institutional investors was subscribed 10.36 times while the non-institutional investor category received a bid for 4.39 times. The IPO has received decent response from investors overall, however, qualified institutional buyers and non-institutional investors subscribed to it the most. A tepid response from investors and weak grey market premium indicates a weak listing for the company’s stock. The grey market premium slipped to ₹4 from ₹70 in the last week. However, analysts expect the mutual industry’s AUM to grow by 11-13% in the next five years at ₹57 trillion and Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC to benefit from strong industry prospects given it is among the top five players. The ₹36 trillion mutual fund industry in India, with 44 players may see consolidation happening in the next couple of years considering the majority of the market is held by the country’s top 10 fund houses, said the company in an interview to Business Insider. As of June quarter 2021, the top 10 mutual fund companies held 82% of the market share, as per Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) data. The fourth largest mutual fund (MF) company Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC, which opened its IPO on September 29, alone holds over 8% market share. FSSAI is hiring more than 250 people for various profiles in India

Broader markets and benchmarks recovered from an early sell-off on Thursday even as bears lurked in the sidelines due to weak overseas cues that damped local sentiment in Thursday's trade. 
 The <keyword id="6354813" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="nifty">Nifty</keyword> fell sharply in early trades but managed to bounce back on aggressive buying. Still, the index was down 10 points at 8,484 points in early trade after recovering from a low of 8,465. The Advance-Decline Ratio worsened to 13/36. NMDC, Tata Motors, TCS, ONGC and Infosys were the top losers on the Index while Lupin, BPCL, Sun Pharma, Tech Mahindra and Bharti Airtel posted decent gains. 
 
Sun Pharma was the most active stock on the Index with 115 crore rupees of stock changing hands in the first 20 minutes of trade. 
 
TCS and Glenmark were in heavy demand as well. Amtek auto was the second most traded stock on the NSE, down 33 percent to 59 rupees. 69 crore rupees worth of stock was traded. 
 
Broader indices moved between gains and losses. There was a bit of red or green on the CNX 100, CNX 200 and CNX 500 and CNX Nifty Junior Indexes. The CNX Small Cap and the CNX Mid Cap Indexes moved in opposite directions. The Bank Nifty slipped a further 73 points to 18,629. The CNX Pharma and the CNX FMCG Indices were the only ones in the green. 
 And on the <keyword id="43628" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bombay-stock-exchange">Bombay Stock Exchange</keyword>, the <keyword id="6484188" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sensex">Sensex</keyword> quoted unchanged at 27,929 in the first 20 minutes of trade. The Advance-Decline Ratio stood at 13/17. Lupin, Sun Pharma, Dr. Reddy's, Bharti and Cipla were the top gainers on the Sensex, while Vedanta, GAIL, Tata Steel and ONGC were on the losing side on the Index, where Lupin was the stock most in demand. 
 The Futures and Options market was weak in Thursday deals with an Advance-Decline ratio of 59/100. Pharma <keyword id="6354298" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="stocks">stocks</keyword> dominated the gainers list which also featured Adani Ports, Indian Oil and Dabur. On the losers side were Tata Steel, Cairn, Sun TV and Kaveri Seed. 
 
The broader market was in fine shape in early deals. The Advance-Decline Ratio was evenly matched at 714 shares that gained versus 689 shares that fell. 
 
Delta Corp, Rupa &amp; Co, Amtek Auto and Jindal Photo figured on the top volume buzzers list, while 3M India, Maruti, Om Metals and Kwality hit fresh highs on the NSE.

Broader markets recovered from an early sell-off as bears lurked in the sidelines

Watching the Sensex can be misleading-- India's mid and small cap stocks have lost ₹2.4 trillion of investor wealth this year alone

Bears tightened their grip on the broader markets and the benchmarks on Thursday as weak cues from overseas forced traders to remain sellers on blue chips. Realty, Banking and infrastructure <keyword id="6354298" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="stocks">stocks</keyword> came under heavy selling pressure. The <keyword id="6354813" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="nifty">Nifty</keyword> plunged 122 points, or 1.44 percent, to 8,372 points, its lowest in one week. The index took support on the all-important 200-day moving average. The Advance-Decline Ratio stood at 6/43. Yes Bank, Punjab National Bank, Cairn, Vedanta and RIL were the top five stocks that lost ground on the Index while pharma stocks dominated trade for the second day. Lupin, ITC, BPCL, Dr. Reddy's and Sun Pharma were the top gainers on the Nifty. 

	Sun Pharma was the most active stock on the NSE with 710 crore rupees worth of shares changing hands. Lupin, Yes Bank and Axis Bank were in heavy demand as well on the exchange.
 

	The bears were in control of the broader market. Major indices such as CNX 100, CNX 200, CNX 500, CNX Junior Nifty and CNX Mid Cap and CNX Small Cap Indexes closed with losses of 1.2-2.9 percent on Thursday. 
 The sectorial space was awash with red. The <keyword id="151330" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bank-Nifty">Bank Nifty</keyword> plunged 420 points to 18,283 as traders remained sellers on the PSU banking basket. Therefore, the CNX PSU Bank Index dropped 3.4 percent, falling for the 2nd day. The trend was bearish in other indices too. The CNX Media, CNX Auto, CNX Energy, CNX Realty and CNX Finance lost between 1.7-4.1 percent on Thursday. On the <keyword id="43628" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bombay-stock-exchange">Bombay Stock Exchange</keyword>, the <keyword id="6484188" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sensex">Sensex</keyword> lost 324 points, or 1.2 percent, to 27,607 points. BHEL, Tata Steel, Infosys and GAIL were among the top losers on the Index where Lupin, ITC and Dr. Reddy's rose smartly. The Advance-Decline Ratio stood at 5/25. 

	Axis Bank was the top traded counter with 69 crore rupees worth of shares changing hands on the BSE. Axis Bank is precariously perched at the 200-day moving average.
 

	The wider market saw one of the worst Advance-Decline numbers in recent trade: Today, 2,071 stocks lost ground compared with just 756 that rose over their Wednesday's close.
 The Bears were in total control of the futures and options space. The <keyword id="109714" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nifty-futures">Nifty futures</keyword> dropped 117 points to shut down at 8,388 points. Amtek Auto, IB Real Estate, JP Associates and Jindal Steel were among top losers while Lupin, ITC, Glenmark and BPCL post strong gains in the derivatives market. All 18 sectors ended up with losses. The Advance-Decline Ratio was at 17/145 in the futures and Options market. 

	Amtek Auto, Delta Corp, Om Metals, Thermax and 8K Miles figured on the NSE's top volume buzzers list and Chennai Petroleum, Auro Pharma, Abbott Labs and Kwality Ltd were the stocks that made fresh highs on the exchange on Thursday.

Weak overseas cues forced traders to remain sellers on blue chips: Bears tightened grip on broader markets

State-run Indian Oil Corporation has maintained its numero uno position followed by <keyword id="6355199" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Industries">Reliance Industries</keyword> in terms of revenue for the sixth consecutive year in the list of Fortune 500 Indian companies 2015. 
 
IOC tops the chart with an annual revenue of Rs 4,51,911 crore, while Mukesh Ambani-led RIL's full-year revenue is Rs 3,82,565 crore. <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> with a revenue of Rs 2,67,025 crore jumped to third slot from last year's fifth place by replacing Bharat Petroleum (BPCL). State Bank of India (SBI) moved to fourth position with an annual revenue of Rs 2,57,289 crore, from sixth rank in 2014. 
 
Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) is ranked fifth with an annual revenue of Rs 2,40,367 crore. It had grabbed the third spot in last year's ranking. 
 
The list, which has been compiled by global business magazine Fortune's Indian edition since 2010, said the total revenue of firms has grown a merely 2.7 per cent and profits fell 5.9 per cent compared with 2014. 
 
"While the total revenue of Fortune India 500 companies has nearly doubled from Rs 38,16,000 crore in 2010 to Rs 71,27,000 crore in 2015, the same cannot be said of profits, which went up by a meagre 3.6 per cent over the period," the magazine noted. 
 Others in the top 10 are <keyword id="6374014" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hindustan-Petroleum">Hindustan Petroleum</keyword> (sixth in the ranking, with a revenue of Rs 2,13,380 crore, followed by ONGC Rs 1,65,161 crore, <keyword id="6357147" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Steel">Tata Steel</keyword> Rs 1,41,669 crore, Hindalco Industries Rs 1,06,897 crore and TCS Rs 98,368 crore. 
 
According to Fortune India, "While the overall scene does not seem too promising, individual companies are swimming against the tide to deliver value to customers and shareholders." 
 Among others in the list are <keyword id="6354924" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Idea-Cellular">Idea Cellular</keyword> (47th rank), Asian Paints (85), TVS Motor Company (125), <keyword id="6369697" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Godrej">Godrej</keyword> Consumer Products (157), Kwality (195), Aegis Logistics (271), Srei Infrastructure Finance (303), Transport Corporation of India (397) and Persistent Systems (447). 
 
The ranking is based on total revenues of the organisation. Other individual parameters include year-on-year change in total revenues, net operating income, profits, assets, networth, dividend, among others. 
 
Fortune ranks top players across different sectors ranging from banking, telecommunications, automobiles, consumer durables, pharma, FMCG, infrastructure, media, oil and gas, power, real estate, retail and among others.
