An official release from the state government said the expanded facility will have employment generation potential of more than 500 numbers of qualified, skilled and semi-skilled workforce to be recruited, mostly from nearby places. The company established their biopharmaceutical facility in February last year at Genome Valley with an investment of ₹300 crore to manufacture vaccines, biologicals, biosimilar, antibodies and others. The expanded site is envisaged to meet the national and international regulations to be followed in the manufacturing of the biological products as applicable and shall be built under the GMP guidelines applicable for the respective product lines, it said. Gland Pharma to invest ₹400 Cr to expand its Telangana plant

The announcement was made after Telangana Minister KT <keyword id="82835" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rama-rao" source="Orion">Rama Rao</keyword>'s meeting with <keyword id="16613391" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="samit-hirawat" source="Orion">Samit Hirawat</keyword>, Executive Vice-President, Global Drug Development at <keyword id="6368120" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="bms" source="Orion">BMS</keyword>, who is in the city to participate in BioAsia 2023, it said. Hyderabad, Mar 13 () The Telangana government isproposing to set up six new airports-three greenfield and anequal number of brownfield aerodromes in the state, Ministerfor IT and Industries KT Rama Rao said on Friday.Speaking at "Wings India 2020," an aviation-relatedevent here, he said the state government has appointedAirports Authority of India as a consultant for preparingtechno feasibility studies for existing airstrips (brownfield)and feasibility studies for the greenfield airports."In line with the theme of the event "Flying for All"we are now planning to re-activate old airports, creategreen-field airports and establish a chain of heliports toconnect the remote parts of our State. Hyderabad, April 15 ()The Telangana government willprepare a lockdown exit plan for the IT companies soon,Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao said onWednesday,as he outlined the strategy to contain theCOVID-19 spread in the State.The minister interacted with the captains of the ITindustry over a video call and gave an overview of thestrategy being followed by the state government to contain thespread of coronavirus, an official release said.The industry captains have expressedsatisfaction over the steps initiated by the state governmentand assured all possible assistance to the ongoing reliefmeasures being implemented in the state, it said. The minister thanked the representatives of the ITindustry for partnering with the state government in the fightagainst COVID-19. Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary IT and Industries,also participated in the interaction, the release said. Telangana to come out with lockdown exit plan for IT firms

Hyderabad, May 12 () T-Works, a Telangana governmentstart-up incubator for hardware industry, on Tuesday enteredinto an agreement with Bhagwati Products Ltd, part ofMicromax group, for manufacturing mechanical ventilator beingdeveloped for Covid-19 patients.As part of the MoU, Micromax would be taking upproduction of the device at its manufacturing facility in E-City, Maheswaram in Ranga Reddy District, an official releasesaid.The ventilator was successfully demonstrated to doctorsfrom NIMS (Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences) and toTelangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao on April 20. The affordable mechanical ventilator was developed incollaboration with hardware start-ups and corporates from thecity, including Qualcomm, Honeywell, Spectrochem Instruments,Entesla, Althion, Trishula and ConserVision, it said. The team is currently focused on incorporating theadvanced features that are useful for medical professionals. "We are happy to have Micromax on board with us for thedevelopment of the emergency use ventilator.With their manufacturing expertise and advance onlicensing fee, we will be able to deliver the best-in-classventilator for COVID-19 in a short time frame," CEO of T-Works, Sujai Karampuri said."We are excited to partner with the Telangana State inproviding low cost Ventilators in these times of crises,"Co-founder of Micromax and chairman of Bhagwati ProductsLimited, Rajesh Agarwal said.The device will now go through testing and certificationfollowed by clinical validation.It is anticipated to be used to fulfill the demand duringemergency pandemic situations, the release added. T-Works ties up with Micromax for making mechanical ventilators for COVID-19 patients

New Delhi, Jan 6 () IT firm Cyient on Monday said it has set up a new development centre in Warangal, Telangana and will hire about 600 people in a phased manner.
 The centre is slated to be inaugurated on Tuesday by Telangana Minister for IT, Municipal Administration &amp; Urban Development, Industries, and Commerce KT Rama Rao.
 "Cyient's development centre is the largest in Warangal and will serve as a showcase for this culturally rich city to attract more IT investments. Cyient had already taken the lead in Warangal by setting up its incubation centre back in 2016," a statement said.
 The company currently employs 200 engineers in its centre and will be hiring 600 more in a phased manner with most of the talent being sourced locally, it added.
 "The new state-of-the-art facility can accommodate 600 Cyient engineers on a total built-up area of around 60,000 sq ft. The company is also constructing a second tower to accommodate an additional 200 engineers," it said.
 The development centre supports telecom customers globally with plan &amp; design and engineering services for their mobile and fixed-line networks.
 The company works with several of the largest communications service providers in the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific region, helping them accelerate the deployment of 5G networks, expand fiber-to-the-home coverage and implement digital solutions to enhance customer experience.

Rama Rao said he was super excited to break the ground for Google's largest campus outside of their headquarters at Mountain View, the US. The building prioritises sustainability and energy efficiency throughout its design. Upon commissioning, it will offer a highly skilled tech workforce a healthy, collaborative workplace that is both resilient and adaptable, designed to serve the city for years to come, Google said. The new campus, which was earlier expected to be ready in 2019, is likely to nearly double the headcount. Meanwhile, Google on Thursday signed an MoU with the Telangana government to support and accelerate its vision of leveraging technology for sustainable economic development and inclusive social development. Under this new initiative, Google will collaborate with the government through its various arms to extend scholarships for Google Career Certificates to Telangana's youth, support women entrepreneurs through digital, business and financial skills training, and strengthen the government's school modernisation efforts with digital teaching and learning tools and solutions. As part of the joint effort, Google will also support the Telangana government's efforts to improve public transportation and use of digital technologies in agriculture. KTR, as the minister is popularly called, noted that Google has been working with the Telangana government since 2017, using its solutions to support "our vision of a Digital Telangana and furthering our mutual aim of making every citizen digitally empowered". "Our previous MoUs with them have resulted in some great initiatives that have positively affected citizens from all walks of life.
