<keyword id="6444828" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="gland-pharma" source="Orion">Gland Pharma</keyword> on Monday announced that it would be investing ₹400 crore to create additional capabilities in its existing facility at Genome Valley here to manufacture biologicals, biosimilar, antibodies and recombinant <keyword id="48003" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="insulin" source="Orion">Insulin</keyword>. An official release from the state government said the expanded facility will have employment generation potential of more than 500 numbers of qualified, skilled and semi-skilled workforce to be recruited, mostly from nearby places. The company established their biopharmaceutical facility in February last year at Genome Valley with an investment of ₹300 crore to manufacture vaccines, biologicals, biosimilar, antibodies and others. The expanded site is envisaged to meet the national and international regulations to be followed in the manufacturing of the biological products as applicable and shall be built under the GMP guidelines applicable for the respective product lines, it said. Gland Pharma to invest ₹400 Cr to expand its Telangana plant

<keyword id="550119" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="bristol-myers-squibb" source="Orion">Bristol Myers Squibb</keyword>, a world's leading biopharmaceutical company will establish a state of-the-art site here to expand its global drug development and IT capabilities with an investment of Rs 800 crore, a Telangana government press release said on Thursday. The announcement was made after Telangana Minister KT <keyword id="82835" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rama-rao" source="Orion">Rama Rao</keyword>'s meeting with <keyword id="16613391" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="samit-hirawat" source="Orion">Samit Hirawat</keyword>, Executive Vice-President, Global Drug Development at <keyword id="6368120" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="bms" source="Orion">BMS</keyword>, who is in the city to participate in BioAsia 2023, it said. The company plans to begin operations in <keyword id="6354552" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="hyderabad" source="Orion">Hyderabad</keyword> later in 2023, with the potential over the next few years to employ approximately 1,500 people who will be engaged in cutting-edge Research and Development and digital activities, a BMS release said.  Telengana's <keyword id="181547" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="IT-secretary">IT secretary</keyword> <keyword id="130896" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jayesh-Ranjan">Jayesh Ranjan</keyword>, while talking to The Economic Times said, "<keyword id="93636" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Google-Inc">Google Inc</keyword> will shortly depute internal teams for driving all three activities from <keyword id="68884" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Telangana">Telangana</keyword> where it plans to build a new campus that will house some 13,000 staff.” 
 As per the ET news report, Ranjan was a key member of a top-level <keyword id="541763" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Telangana-Government">Telangana government</keyword> delegation that recently visited Google Inc's <keyword id="6439698" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="mountain">Mountain</keyword> View, California, operations on May 11 and interacted with several global product teams. The delegation was led by Telangana's <keyword id="156671" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="IT-minister">IT minister</keyword> KT <keyword id="82835" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rama-Rao">Rama Rao</keyword>, and included Sujai Karampuri, <keyword id="303" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Director">director</keyword> (electronics) and Amarnath Reddy Atmakuri, Chief Relations Officer. 
 Confirming the aforesaid communication, a <keyword id="6357308" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="spokesperson">spokesperson</keyword> of Google told the financial daily, "company is delighted to be collaborating with the government of Telangana on growing its presence there, while also exploring ways to contribute to their efforts to become a model digital state". 
 Google, however, declined to reveal its Hyderabad campus rollout investment details or its upcoming activities there. "On the campus side, it is still very early days, so we don't have all the details, but will share more as our plans come together," the <keyword id="191704" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="company-spokesman">company spokesman</keyword> said in an emailed response to ET's queries. 
 
But contrary to the Telangana government's claims, Google said, "it has no immediate plans to expand Google Fibre to India as it is still busy growing its presence in a number of US cities".

Internet giant <keyword id="6355629" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="google" source="Orion">Google</keyword> on Thursday began work here on its largest campus outside of its headquarters in the US. The 3 million square feet building is coming up at Gachibowli, the information technology cluster. The company also unveiled the design of the campus coming up at the 7.3-acre site it acquired in 2019. <keyword id="68884" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="telangana" source="Orion">Telangana</keyword>'s Information Technology Minister K.T. Rama Rao said he was super excited to break the ground for Google's largest campus outside of their headquarters at Mountain View, the US. The building prioritises sustainability and energy efficiency throughout its design. Upon commissioning, it will offer a highly skilled tech workforce a healthy, collaborative workplace that is both resilient and adaptable, designed to serve the city for years to come, Google said. "I am pleased that Google is deepening its roots in <keyword id="6354552" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hyderabad" source="Orion">Hyderabad</keyword> through this landmark building which incorporates sustainability into its design, keeping in mind Hyderabad's large and future-focused talent pool," said Rama Rao, who unveiled the building design at a ceremony held onsite. The campus was originally planned as a 2 million square facility with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore. An agreement was signed between the Telangana government and Google in 2015 when Rama Rao had visited the company headquarters in California. Google currently operates out of a leased facility in Kondapur in Hyderabad and employs about 7,000 people. The new campus, which was earlier expected to be ready in 2019, is likely to nearly double the headcount. Meanwhile, Google on Thursday signed an MoU with the Telangana government to support and accelerate its vision of leveraging technology for sustainable economic development and inclusive social development. Under this new initiative, Google will collaborate with the government through its various arms to extend scholarships for Google Career Certificates to Telangana's youth, support women entrepreneurs through digital, business and financial skills training, and strengthen the government's school modernisation efforts with digital teaching and learning tools and solutions. As part of the joint effort, Google will also support the Telangana government's efforts to improve public transportation and use of digital technologies in agriculture. KTR, as the minister is popularly called, noted that Google has been working with the Telangana government since 2017, using its solutions to support "our vision of a Digital Telangana and furthering our mutual aim of making every citizen digitally empowered". "Our previous MoUs with them have resulted in some great initiatives that have positively affected citizens from all walks of life. This time we are focusing on making a step-change in communities such as youth, women, and students and in citizen services," he said. Sanjay Gupta, Country Head &amp; Vice President, Google <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>, noted that Hyderabad has been home to one of Google's largest employee bases since they started operations in India. Google begins building its largest campus outside US headquarters in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Mar 13 () The Telangana government isproposing to set up six new airports-three greenfield and anequal number of brownfield aerodromes in the state, Ministerfor IT and Industries KT Rama Rao said on Friday.Speaking at "Wings India 2020," an aviation-relatedevent here, he said the state government has appointedAirports Authority of India as a consultant for preparingtechno feasibility studies for existing airstrips (brownfield)and feasibility studies for the greenfield airports."In line with the theme of the event "Flying for All"we are now planning to re-activate old airports, creategreen-field airports and establish a chain of heliports toconnect the remote parts of our State. Hyderabad, May 12 () T-Works, a Telangana governmentstart-up incubator for hardware industry, on Tuesday enteredinto an agreement with Bhagwati Products Ltd, part ofMicromax group, for manufacturing mechanical ventilator beingdeveloped for Covid-19 patients.As part of the MoU, Micromax would be taking upproduction of the device at its manufacturing facility in E-City, Maheswaram in Ranga Reddy District, an official releasesaid.The ventilator was successfully demonstrated to doctorsfrom NIMS (Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences) and toTelangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao on April 20. The affordable mechanical ventilator was developed incollaboration with hardware start-ups and corporates from thecity, including Qualcomm, Honeywell, Spectrochem Instruments,Entesla, Althion, Trishula and ConserVision, it said. The team is currently focused on incorporating theadvanced features that are useful for medical professionals. The government will extend tailor-made benefits to mega and strategic projects on a case to case basis. Investment of more than ₹200 crore in plant and machinery or providing employment to more than 1,000 people shall be categorised as megaproject. "Telangana has come out with an extremely comprehensive policy. We also ensured that energy story policy is clubbed in with the EV policy because these two are tight-knit ideas which need to work cohesively...we have taken a pragmatic approach while designing this policy and consulted industry leaders," Rama Rao after unveiling the policy. Telangana launches ‘electric vehicle and energy storage policy’ — first 2 lakh electric two-wheelers exempted from road tax

New Delhi, Jan 6 () IT firm Cyient on Monday said it has set up a new development centre in Warangal, Telangana and will hire about 600 people in a phased manner.
 The centre is slated to be inaugurated on Tuesday by Telangana Minister for IT, Municipal Administration &amp; Urban Development, Industries, and Commerce KT Rama Rao.
 "Cyient's development centre is the largest in Warangal and will serve as a showcase for this culturally rich city to attract more IT investments. Cyient had already taken the lead in Warangal by setting up its incubation centre back in 2016," a statement said.
 The company currently employs 200 engineers in its centre and will be hiring 600 more in a phased manner with most of the talent being sourced locally, it added.
 "The new state-of-the-art facility can accommodate 600 Cyient engineers on a total built-up area of around 60,000 sq ft. The company is also constructing a second tower to accommodate an additional 200 engineers," it said.
 The development centre supports telecom customers globally with plan &amp; design and engineering services for their mobile and fixed-line networks.
 The company works with several of the largest communications service providers in the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific region, helping them accelerate the deployment of 5G networks, expand fiber-to-the-home coverage and implement digital solutions to enhance customer experience.
 "With the strong momentum and growth in our communications business, we look forward to leveraging our presence here to support customers globally while delivering on our commitment to support inclusive growth in our local communities," Cyient Managing Director and CEO Krishna Bodanapu said.
