Pant, who will once again be back as Delhi Capitals skipper, has undergone extensive rehabilitation and is ready to shoulder the dual responsibility in the event starting March 22, ending weeks of speculation surrounding his exact role in the league. "After undergoing an extensive 14-month rehab and recovery process, following a life-threatening road mishap on December 30th, 2022, near Roorkee, Uttarakhand, Rishabh Pant has now been declared fit as a wicket-keeper batter for the upcoming IPL 2024," said the BCCI in a statement. The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in the West Indies and the USA in June. "I had taken an SUV, but what I was seeing was a sedan," he quipped as he remembered his mangled vehicle. "There was someone around so I asked if he could help getting the leg back in the position. He helped the knee get back in place. "It was the first time I had such a feeling in life. At the time of the accident, I was aware of the wounds, but I was lucky as it could have been even more serious," he recollected. The big-hitter had said the process of recovery was boring at best and frustrating at worst. "I was focusing on recovery cut off from the world. It helped me in recovering fast, especially when the injury is so serious. For recovery, you have to do the same thing every day. The year 2022 saw the Telugu film industry losing some of its biggest stars. The deaths of superstar Krishna and 'rebel star' <keyword id="239827" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="krishnam-raju" source="Orion">Krishnam Raju</keyword> came as big blows to <keyword id="6354765" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="tollywood" source="Orion">Tollywood</keyword>, and the end of the year brought the news of the passing of veteran actors Kaikala Satyanarayana and <keyword id="306306" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="chalapathi-rao" source="Orion">Chalapathi Rao</keyword>. The year began on a tragic note with the death of actor-producer <keyword id="207378" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="ramesh-babu" source="Orion">Ramesh Babu</keyword>, elder brother of popular actor Mahesh Babu, in January. Ramesh Babu was known for films such as Bazaar Rowdy, Mugguru Kodukulu and others. After his retirement from acting in 1997, he had become a producer. April saw the death of three veteran Tollywood personalities. Director Sarath passed away at the age of 74 after battling cancer. Sarath, who made his directorial debut in 1986 with Chadastapu Mogudu, made over 20 films in his career. He predominantly worked with actors Nandamuri Balakrishna and Suman. While he delivered superhits such as Vamshanikokkadu, Sulthan, Peddannayya, and Vamshoddharakudu, he directed Suman in films Bava Bavamaridi, Peddinti Alludu, and Chinna Alludu. The same month, veteran actor M. Balayya passed away at the age of 94. He had acted in more than 300 films and was popular for playing the role of the elderly and other important roles in several super hit movies. Veteran director Tatineni Rama Rao's death came as another loss to Tollywood. He passed away in Chennai at the age of 84. He started his career in the film industry as an assistant director and made his directorial debut with Navarathri (1966), starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Savitri in the lead roles. He directed more than 65 films in Telugu and Hindi. He directed blockbusters such as Brahmachari (1966), Manchi Mitrulu (1969), Jeevana Tarangalu (1973), Dorababu (1974), Yamagola (1977), Anuraga Devatha (1982) and Pachchani Kapuram (1985). In September, Tollywood lost legendary actor U. V. Krishnam Raju. He passed away at the age of 83. Known as the 'rebel star' of Telugu cinema, he was the uncle of popular actor Prabhas. In a career spanning 50 years, Krishnam Raju acted in more than 180 films. He was also a recipient of five Filmfare south awards as well as three Nandi awards. His most famous works include Jeevana Tarangalu, Krishnaveni, and Bhakta Kannappa among others. Raju served as the Union Minister of state in various ministries in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government between 2000 and 2002. He was elected to the Kakinada and Narasapuram constituencies in the 12th and 13th <keyword id="6355187" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="lok-sabha" source="Orion">Lok Sabha</keyword> on a BJP ticket. In November, Tollywood suffered a huge loss with the death of legendary actor Krishna. He died of cardiac arrest at the age of 79. Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy or Superstar Krishna, as he was popularly known, acted in more than 350 films in a career spanning five decades. He also produced and directed a few films. Father of actor Mahesh Babu, Krishna was credited with introducing many new trends in Tollywood. He is known for many landmark movies like 'Alluri Seetharama Raju', which was the first cinemascope movie in Tollywood, 'Eenadu' (1982), the first Eastman colour film and 'Simhasanam' (1986), the first 70 mm film. The superstar founded Padmalaya Studio in 1970 and produced some highly successful movies. The superstar was reported to be depressed since the death of his wife Indira Devi in September. Early this year, he lost his elder son Ramesh Babu. Considered close to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Krishna joined the Congress party in 1984. He was elected to Lok Sabha from Eluru in 1989 but lost the election in 1991 from the same constituency. After Rajiv Gandhi's assassination, Krishna distanced himself from politics He received several awards including NTR national award in 2003. In 2009, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Indian cinema. The last month of the year saw Tollywood losing two more veteran actors. Kaikala Satyanarayana passed away on December 23 at the age of 87. Known for his roles as a villain and character artist, he acted in over 750 films. In a career spanning 60 years, he worked with over 200 directors. A close friend of former Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao, he was elected to Lok Sabha from Machilipatnam in 1996 on the ticket of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He later quit politics. Even before Tollywood could recover from this shock, another veteran actor Tammareddy Chalapathi Rao passed away on December 25. He died of cardiac arrest at the age of 78. Known for his comic and villainous roles, he acted with three generations of top stars in a career spanning over five decades. He acted in more than 600 films. Chalapathi Rao made his debut in 1966 with 'Ghodachari 116'. He acted in supporting roles with leading actors like N. T. Rama Rao, Krishna, Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh. He also produced a few films. And why not. In an age where people are constantly looking to ditch conventions and embrace alternate forms of tourism, like going to slums and villages for the ultimate alternate experience, this idea seems nothing short of genius. According to a report in the <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/take-a-cow-safari-on-bullock-cart-in-rajasthan/articleshow/64770812.cms">Times of India</a>, the Rajasthan government plans to convert the state-run Hingonia Gaushala close to Jaipur to a one-of-a-kind tourism hotspot. The location will feature machan huts in trees for people to stay in and bullock cart rides for visitors to watch cows graze. The experience also includes getting up close and personal with visitors being given the chance to massage the cows, bathe them and even milk them! Ironically, this is the same gaushala (shelter for cows) where 8,122 cows died due to ‘<a href="http://www.tribuneindia.com/news/nation/8-122-cows-died-since-jan-at-hingonia-gaushala-rajasthan-govt/276859.html">ill-health and accidental injuries</a>’ in 2016. Ayushi Sharma from <keyword id="139276" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="PETA-India">PETA India</keyword> had some disturbing insights to share with us with respect to this move: “The Rajasthan government’s “cow safari” using enslaved bulls to haul tourists on carts is sure to turn many people toward a vegan lifestyle and against dairy consumption after they see what pathetic conditions cows and bulls are kept in to be used as milk machines or to give rides. Hingonia Gaushala, where 15,000 cows are housed, and which despite being severely overcrowded, continues to irresponsibly breed even more cows to produce milk is hardly a destination where cow lovers should go.” The ‘safari’ is slated to begin sometime around Janmashtami (September 2), a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord <keyword id="6356845" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="krishna">Krishna</keyword>. While the safari will be free of cost, those who opt to stay in the machan huts will have to pay for their stay. Also, in order to satiate the true bovine lovers even further, once this safari is launched, the government plans to start a ‘bull safari’ in a nearby land.

Murthy, daughter of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, held 3.89 crore shares, or 0.93 per cent, of Infosys at the end of September, according to company filings with the stock exchanges. Her holding is worth Rs 5,956 crore (about USD 721 million) at Tuesday's trading price of Rs 1,527.40 on the BSE. Infosys paid Rs 16 per share final dividend for the 2021-22 fiscal on May 31, this year. For the current year, the firm this month announced an interim dividend of Rs 16.5, according to the company's stock exchange filings. The two dividends totalled Rs 32.5 per share or Rs 126.61 crore for Akshata. Infosys is among the best dividend-paying companies in India. In 2021, it paid a total of Rs 30 per share dividend, which would have given Akshata a total of Rs 119.5 crore in that calendar year. Sunak, 42, on Sunday won the race to lead the Conservative Party and is now set to become Britain's first prime minister of Indian origin and its youngest leader in modern times. While Sunak is a British national, his wife Akshata is an Indian citizen. Her non-domiciled status, which allows her to earn money abroad without paying taxes in Britain for a period of up to 15 years, has been a divisive issue in the UK. Non-domiciled status of Akshata became an issue of discussion in Britain when Sunak first entered the race to become the prime minister in April this year. At that time, her spokesperson had stated that as a citizen of India, she was unable to hold citizenship of another country and that "she has always and will continue to pay UK taxes on all her UK income." As the controversy snowballed, she at that time announced that she would pay UK tax on all of her worldwide earnings out of a "British sense of fairness".It is not known how much taxes she paid in the UK on the dividend income that accrued to her after April - Rs 16 per share final dividend for the 2021-22 fiscal year (April 2021 to March 2022) paid on May 31, 2022, and Rs 16.5 a share interim dividend for 2022-23 fiscal that is due to be paid on October 27. Born in her mother Sudha Murthy's hometown of Hubballi in northern Karnataka, Akshata did her schooling in Bengaluru, before moving to Claremont McKenna College in California, where she graduated with a dual major in economics and French. She did a fashion designing diploma from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, which followed a short work stint at Deloitte and <keyword id="45009" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="unilever" source="Orion">Unilever</keyword>. She thereafter went on to pursue her MBA at Stanford where she met Rishi Sunak. The two married in 2009. The couple, who own a vast real estate portfolio, has two children, Krishna and Anoushka. They live in a 7 million townhouse in Kensington. They also own a flat in Kensington, a mansion in Rishi's Yorkshire constituency and a penthouse in California.
