Kelly's former doctor, following testimony that he treated the singer for free while traveling around the country with him for parties and concerts.The doctor, Kris McGrath, <a href="https://www.insider.com/r-kelly-doctor-gave-free-std-treatment-partied-with-him-2021-8">took the stand on Thursday</a> to testify about his 25-year social and professional relationship with the accused sex criminal. McGrath said he first diagnosed Kelly with herpes in 2000, following years of treatment for other sexually transmitted diseases.Earlier in the trial, <a href="https://www.insider.com/r-kelly-fall-sexual-abuse-allegations-2019-3">Jerhonda Pace, a woman accusing the R&amp;B artist of sexual misconduct</a>, <a href="https://www.insider.com/r-kelly-accuser-describes-how-he-trained-sex-crimes-trial-2021-8">separately testified</a> that a male doctor diagnosed her with herpes at the singer's home in suburban Chicago.Chris King, a spokesperson for Northwestern Medicine, told Insider on Saturday that the healthcare system would institute a review of how McGrath treated patients."Our highest priority is the <keyword id="11894571" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="health" source="Orion">health</keyword> and safety of our patients," King told Insider. Kelly did, however, fly him around the country for concerts and invite him and his wife to parties and dinners.McGrath also often went to the singer's studios to listen to him perform music, he said, and the two often went to cigar bars together.Kelly's trial, in Brooklyn federal court, is expected to last for another three weeks.

Kelly.Dr. Kris G. McGrath, who testified that he last saw Kelly socially before the singer's 2019 arrest on sex-crime charges, was questioned about his experience treating Kelly for sexually transmitted diseases.Prosecutors in Kelly's New York trial allege that he engaged in unprotected sex with two partners <a href="https://www.insider.com/hiv-aids-advocates-oppose-laws-criminalize-stis-r-kelly-trial-2021-8">without first informing them he had contracted herpes</a>, and obtaining their consent under those circumstances. Kelly</h2>McGrath said he first met Kelly through Darryl McDavid, a patient of his who also worked as an accountant for the singer, in January 1994.Kelly had a "concern about chlamydia," McGrath wrote in notes from his visits with the singer. The notes were entered into the court record and shown on screen in the courtroom Thursday. According to McGrath's notes, Kelly also complained of pain in his genitals. McGrath ordered a test for chlamydia, which came back negative, and another for gonorrhea, which turned out positive.McGrath testified he instructed Kelly to practice safe sex and inform his sexual partners about the diagnosis. He also said he wanted to order additional tests, but that Kelly turned them down "for privacy reasons."The prosecution showed records of another appointment with McGrath on June 5, 2000. Kelly complained of pain and blisters on his genitals. He said he wore leather pants without underwear for a photoshoot, according to McGrath's notes. To which McGrath testified he responded, "Yes, you should put on a condom."One document showed McGrath had prescribed Kelly herpes medication dating back to at least March 2007, nearly two years before <a href="https://www.insider.com/r-kelly-accuser-describes-how-he-trained-sex-crimes-trial-2021-8">one of his accusers, Jerhonda Pace, said she began having sex with him when she was 16 years old</a>.McGrath testified that Kelly or his employees would frequently call him to place orders for "the blue pills," which he called the herpes medication.Sometimes Kelly would visit his office, but McGrath also made house calls to Kelly's home in Olympia Fields, Illinois, and studios in Chicago, he said.The herpes prescriptions were sent for Kelly to pick up at what McGrath described as the "Rock &amp; Roll Walgreens," a pharmacy located next to the famed Rock &amp; Roll McDonald's in Chicago, McGrath testified. She used her T-shirt to wipe his spit and semen from her face before going home to tell her mother what had happened, she said. <h2>Partying with his doctor</h2>McGrath testified Kelly had health insurance, but never paid him for his medical services during the decades he treated him.He would, however, invite him and his wife to parties, dinners, and pay for his flights to concerts around the country, McGrath testified. The doctor flew to Kelly's concerts in New York, Missouri, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Nashville, he told the jury. Sometimes Kelly would pay for the travel and other times McGrath would book it himself. They also attended cigar bars together and McGrath traveled to the singer's studios to listen to Kelly perform music.McGrath said his wife, Jean, also had a relationship with Kelly, which he described as "caring." McGrath remains a faculty professor at the Feinberg School of Medicine and a board-certified doctor, he said. Representatives at the Feinberg School of Medicine didn't immediately offer comment on McGrath's testimony.

Indoors, molds grow in damp areas, and are often found in the bathroom, kitchen, or basement.<h2>Symptoms </h2>Summer allergy <a href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hay-fever/symptoms-causes/syc-20373039" target="_blank" rel="noopener">symptoms</a> include:<ul><li>Runny nose and congestion</li><li>Watery, itchy, red eyes</li><li>Sneezing</li><li>Cough</li><li>Itchy nose, roof of mouth, or throat </li><li>Swollen, dark circles under the eyes</li><li>Postnasal drip</li><li>Fatigue</li></ul>Allergies can also be triggering for people with asthma, McGrath says, causing symptoms like wheezing, shortness of breath, and cough. Allergies also increase your risk of getting <a href="https://acaai.org/allergies/types/sinus-infection" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a sinus infection</a>. By inflaming your nose and sinuses, allergies stop mucus from draining properly, which can lead to infection.Summer air pollution can also worsen allergy symptoms. According to a <a href="https://www.nrdc.org/media/2015/150513" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2015 report by the National Resources Defense Council,</a> people with allergies are at higher risk to the effects of ozone smog pollution, which can intensify symptoms and even trigger asthma attacks.Summer allergies can sometimes feel like the common cold (yes, <a href="https://www.insider.com/can-you-get-a-cold-in-the-summer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">you can still get a cold in the summer</a>). Here's how: <h3>Limit allergen exposure </h3>If you suffer from pollen allergies, McGrath says you can reduce pollen exposure by staying indoors when possible, using air conditioning, and showering and changing clothes after going outside. It's also a good idea to keep track of pollen and mold counts and stay inside when counts are high. <a href="https://www.aaaai.org/global/nab-pollen-counts?ipb=1&amp;desktop=1op=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The National Allergy Bureau</a> is a reliable source for tracking pollen and mold counts in your area.You can limit mold indoors by monitoring humidity levels with a hygrometer and ensuring humidity <a href="https://www.aafa.org/mold-allergy/#:~:text=What%20Are%20the%20Symptoms%20of,congestion%20and%20dry%2C%20scaling%20skin.&amp;text=Mold%20spores%20get%20into%20your,the%20lungs%20and%20trigger%20asthma.hma." target="_blank" rel="noopener">stays below 45%.</a> Pay close attention to mold buildup in your home and reduce dampness whenever possible.To keep your allergy symptoms in check, you can view the ozone levels in your area at <a href="http://www.airnow.gov" target="_blank" rel="noopener">www.airnow.gov</a> and avoid strenuous outdoor activities when ozone smog levels are high.<h3>Medication</h3>There are several medications you can take to treat allergy symptoms:<ul><li>Oral antihistamines. <a href="https://www.insider.com/what-are-antihistamines" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Antihistamines</a> can help with symptoms of sneezing, itching, a runny nose and watery eyes. Examples of oral antihistamines include loratadine (Claritin, Alavert), cetirizine (Zyrtec Allergy) and fexofenadine (Allegra Allergy). </li><li>Decongestants. Oral decongestants like pseudoephedrine (Sudafed, Afrinol, others) can help reduce stuffiness. Nasal sprays like oxymetazoline (Afrin) and phenylephrine (Neo-Synephrine) can also help but shouldn't be used for more than three days in a row, or they can worsen symptoms.</li><li>Nasal spray. <a href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/corticosteroid-nasal-route/description/drg-20070513" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nasal corticosteroids sprays</a> (Beconase, Flonase) can help relieve stuffiness and irritation in the nose. You'll need a doctor's prescription for these.</li><li>Combination medications. Some allergy medications combine an antihistamine with a decongestant to tackle multiple symptoms at once. Examples are loratadine-pseudoephedrine (Claritin-D) and fexofenadine-pseudoephedrine (Allegra-D).</li><li>Sinus rinses. Rinsing your sinuses with a squeeze bottle or <a href="https://www.insider.com/how-to-use-a-neti-pot" target="_blank" rel="noopener">neti pot</a> can also be a quick way to relieve nasal congestion. Make sure you use filtered water.</li></ul><h3>Allergy shots</h3><a href="https://www.insider.com/are-allergy-shots-worth-it" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Allergy shots</a>, or immunotherapy, is a further treatment option for seasonal allergies. They work by injecting the body with small doses of allergens over a few years to help build resistance to your allergens. "We can't change the body's genetics, but we can help modify the immune response by giving allergy shots," McGrath says.
