The series stars <keyword id="6370368" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="pooja-bhatt">Pooja Bhatt</keyword>, Shahana Goswami Amruta Subhash, Plabita Borthakur and Aadhya Anand along with <keyword id="3194" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rahul-Bose">Rahul Bose</keyword>, Vivek Gomber and Danish Husain. Shrivastava, best known for her films "Lipstick Under My Burkha" and "Dolly Kitty Aur Vo Chamakate Sitaare", hoped that women in India, and across the world will connect with the story. "The series explores the complex journey of working Indian women who are ambitious for power and success, but have many other battles to fight too. It's the story of their daily hustle, the story of their dreams - sometimes buried, sometimes fulfilled," Shrivastav, the series creator and director, said in a statement. The director said she has tried to create a world that reflects the realities of urban working women. "I hope audiences relate to the characters and find pieces of their own journey reflected in the story. I am excited and proud that Bombay Begums is coming on Netflix on the occasion of International Women's Day." Produced by Endemol Shine India, Endeavor Content, Chernin Entertainment, the story revolves around five women across generations who wrestle with desire, ethics, personal crises and vulnerabilities to own their ambition, in contemporary urban India. Mumbai, May 13 () Actor Amol Parashar, who rose to fame with web show "TVF Tripling", says two of his films -- "Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare" and film producer Mukesh Bhatt's next -- have been postponed due to the coronavirus-led lockdown. Before finding fame with "Tripling", Parashar worked in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer "Rocket Singh: Salesman of The Year", and "Traffic" and Malayalam film "Mili"."Professionally, I had a couple of releases lined up which have of course been pushed now. The film ('Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare') was tentatively supposed to release around this time but has been pushed for now.. "The film is ready and has already been to a few festivals around the world starting from its premiere in Busan. I am excited for the film to come out because I got to work with some really amazing people on this project," Amol told .Due to the current scenario, the actor said there is uncertainty over films releasing in theatres. "There is uncertainty around when theatres will open or when shoots will start, so everybody is waiting and watching. It's not ideal, but I don't let it affect me emotionally. I am keeping myself busy with reading and writing stuff," he said. The actor said another film was to be announced but now the producers will take a call when there is more clarity. Discussion on other projects has also slowed down because of the uncertainty.Recalling the experience of working with Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar in Alankrita Shrivastava's "Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare", Amol said it was a great learning curve for him. "Konkona and Bhumi play the titular characters of Dolly and Kitty in the film. My part in the film is mostly opposite Konkona and I share only a few moments in the film with Bhumi's character. I was a little nervous about acting with somebody of the stature of Konkona, but was immediately struck with the comfort I found with both Konkona and Alankrita on the sets," he said. "It's always a learning experience working with people who are talented and hardworking, but don't carry their stature on their sleeves. I feel lucky that I got to work with them. You not only grow as an actor but grow as a human being as well," he added.Mukesh Bhatt's film was tentatively titled "Production No 1". The shoot on the film is complete and it is directed by Rishabh Seth. "The process has been halted by the sudden shutdown of work but I hear that not much work is left on that. It's a crazy fun film, with a hilarious script and I am very excited for it to come out whenever it does. Hopefully, as soon as the lockdown ends, we'll have some solid news to share," Amol added. New Delhi, Apr 20 () Leading media and content company Balaji Telefilms Ltd on Monday said its OTT platform ALTBalaji witnessed a strong uptake of digital subscriptions during the lockdown, even as its content production came to a "standstill".ALTBalaji added an average of 17,000 subscriptions per day post lockdown, registering a growth of around 60 per cent as against 10,600 in March 2020 pre lockdown, said Balaji Telefilms in a business update to bourses.The company is closely monitoring the situation and is well positioned to restart production as soon as the situation returns to normalcy. "Given the national lockdown, all content production has come to a standstill, we continue to monitor the situation closely. We are very confident that demand for content will increase once the situation returns to normal and are well prepared to resume business and ramp up content sales once the lock down is over," it said.The company continues to have a very strong balance sheet with zero debt and cash balance of Rs 141 crore as on March 31, 2020. "In addition, we hold readily monetizable inventory and receivables of films totalling Rs 99 crores which will add to our cash balance. The effective cash balance of the Company stands at Rs 240 crores," it said.While talking about its OTT platform, Balaji Telefilms said that its has witnessed strong growth in watch times and subscriptions both during the lockdown period in its all key markets and demographics. "ALTBalaji is witnessing strong uptake of digital subscriptions with an average of 17,000 subscriptions added per day post lockdown vs an average of 10,600 in March 2020 pre lockdown a growth of 60 per cent," said Balaji Telefilms.As of date, ALTBalaji has over 1.7 million active direct subscribers, it added. On its television content production, Balaji Telefilms said it has stopped production after March 18 and in the Q4 (January-March), it had produced 199 hours of content."The company stopped all production on March 18 and had produced 199 hours of content for Q4 vs 219 hours in Q3 (October-December)," it said adding Balaji Telefilms is well positioned to restart production as soon as the situation returns to normalcy.Over its movie production business, the company which has three movies in pipeline said it has no planned releases in the current quarter and are currently awaiting more clarity on the available windows."Balaji Telefilms currently has 3 movies in the pipeline of which Ktina was still under production at the time of the lockdown. Production work for the other two movies (Pagglait and Dolly Kitty Aur Who Chamakte Sitare) are complete.
