Workers in <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>, who use advanced digital skills like <keyword id="11929101" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="cloud" source="Orion">cloud</keyword> architecture or software development, are contributing an estimated $507.9 billion (Rs 10.9 trillion) to the country's annual gross domestic product (GDP), a report showed on Wednesday. This is attributed to the 92 per cent higher salaries that these workers earn compared to those with a similar education who do not use digital skills at work. About 80 per cent of organisations in India that employ workers with advanced digital skills report higher annual revenue growth, but 88 per cent of organisations are facing hiring issues, according to the report by Amazon Web Services (AWS) conducted by Gallup. The findings showed advanced digital workers in India are benefitting from more than just a boost in their income. About 91 per cent of workers who use advanced digital skills express higher job satisfaction, compared to 74 per cent of workers with intermediate skills and 70 per cent of workers with basic digital skills. "India has the opportunity to seize immense economic benefits from building a strong pipeline of cloud talent to support the country's ongoing digital transformation. AWS has trained more than four million people with basic, intermediate, and advanced cloud skills in India since 2017, and our work doesn't stop here," said <keyword id="989663" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="amit-mehta" source="Orion">Amit Mehta</keyword>, Head of Training and Certification, AWS India Pvt Ltd. The report found that 21 per cent of Indian organisations that run most of their business on the Cloud report a doubling of annual revenue or more, compared to 9 per cent of those that use the cloud for some or none of their business. Cloud-based organisations are also 15 percentage points more likely to have introduced a new or improved product within the last two years. With many organisations now preparing for the challenges of a digital future, the Gallup study looked at 10 emerging technologies including AI, edge and quantum computing, blockchain, and cryptocurrency. Around 92 per cent of employers in India said at least one of these technologies is likely to become a standard part of their future business operations, with 5G ranking the highest at 78 per cent. "This research shows that digital skills provide immense economic value to India at the individual, organisational, and macroeconomic level," said Dr <keyword id="5521204" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="jonathan-rothwell" source="Orion">Jonathan Rothwell</keyword>, Gallup principal economist. However, shortage of tech talent is a global phenomenon. New Delhi, Feb 11 () Congress's performance touched a record low in the Delhi Assembly election as the party bagged less than 5 per cent of the total votes polled and 63 of its candidates lost their deposits. Purab Kohli-Tannishtha Chatterjee-Kirti Kulhari starrer Jal has a pertinent theme – it portrays the wild and water-starved <keyword id="80682" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rann-of-Kutch">Rann of Kutch</keyword> and its people locked in an eternal battle with their hostile surroundings. The movie has been criticised by many as a ‘festival’ flick while others vouch it is as commercial as can be. Ebn-E-Batuta, the third release of the week, also bombed the <keyword id="25892" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="box-office">box office</keyword>. The movie grossed some Rs 40-50 lakh on the first day, but the opening weekend numbers are yet to come in. Directed by <keyword id="2188109" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Varun-Middha">Varun Middha</keyword>, this one had an estimated budget of Rs 5 crore, but may follow the same fate as Jal. 
 
Coming back to Main Tera Hero, it is not difficult to understand what makes this movie so popular. This one provides a laughter riot – a mad concoction of romance, action and <keyword id="3769" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="David-Dhawan">David Dhawan</keyword>’s brand of none-too-subtle comedy. But the best thing to happen to us is the star son Varun Dhawan, lauded by most critics as the <keyword id="2188114" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Young-Govinda">Young Govinda</keyword>. It is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster <keyword id="471189" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kandireega">Kandireega</keyword> – telling the story of <keyword id="2180043" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sreenath-Prasad">Sreenath Prasad</keyword> or <keyword id="761791" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Seenu">Seenu</keyword> (Varun Dhawan). The problem kid comes to the big city to put his life in order, carries out his romantic escapades with two babes, <keyword id="2647" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sunaina">Sunaina</keyword> (Ileana D’Cruz) and <keyword id="173" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ayesha">Ayesha</keyword> (<keyword id="37518" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nargis-Fakhri">Nargis Fakhri</keyword>), gets into fisticuffs with Sunaina’s cop beau <keyword id="11572" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Angad">Angad</keyword> (<keyword id="34751" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Arunoday-Singh">Arunoday Singh</keyword>) and gets entangled with Ayesha’s mafia dad <keyword id="19147" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="vikrant">Vikrant</keyword> (<keyword id="6533" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Anupam-Kher">Anupam Kher</keyword>) and his gang. What follows is pure mayhem, but all things are sorted out well in the traditional Bollywood style and true lovers unite at the journey’s end. Quite a hilarious flick if you are ready to put logic away for some time and go with the Bollywood flow. 
 
 
 
In stark contrast, Jal portrays a reality as harsh as the arid land of Kutch. Here we have <keyword id="2188122" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bakka">Bakka</keyword> (<keyword id="26929" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="purab-kohli">Purab Kohli</keyword>), who has the power of divining water spots (does it remind you of <keyword id="6361516" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Nana-Patekar">Nana Patekar</keyword> in Thodasa Roomani Ho Jaayen?), his sweetheart <keyword id="32289" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="kesar">Kesar</keyword> (<keyword id="2349" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="kirti">Kirti</keyword>) hailing from a rival village and <keyword id="719919" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="animal-activist">animal activist</keyword> <keyword id="1158" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kim">Kim</keyword> (Saidah Jules). Kim is out to save the <keyword id="2188125" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Water-starved-flamingos">water-starved flamingos</keyword>, but not too interested to help the clan living there. Set against a stark yet magnificent backdrop, Jal had all the elements to become an epic tale of love and treachery, hope and hopelessness, apathy and ardour. Instead, viewers are handed out a simplistic story that fails to follow the stream of life (in other words, water) from the past into the future, the way it goes with human history. But the movie is worth the watch because of its <keyword id="2188126" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Offbeat-theme">offbeat theme</keyword> while Purab Kohli literally sets the screen on fire. 
 
Ebn-E-Batuta may remind you of <keyword id="47027" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="James-Cameron">James Cameron</keyword>’s <keyword id="44111" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Avatar">Avatar</keyword>, but there the similarities end. In this <keyword id="2188127" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="India-made-sci-fi-flick">India-made sci-fi flick</keyword>, the <keyword id="77929" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="aliens">aliens</keyword> have invaded <keyword id="976816" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Planet-Earth">Planet Earth</keyword> to conquer it, but three <keyword id="343" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="80" keywordseo="Friends">friends</keyword> (<keyword id="389953" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Omkar-Das-Manikpuri">Omkar Das Manikpuri</keyword>, <keyword id="2188128" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Dev-Gohar">Dev Gohar</keyword> and <keyword id="2188131" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Satyendra-Khare">Satyendra Khare</keyword>) try and <keyword id="382268" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="leverage">leverage</keyword> the power of the <keyword id="2151868" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="extra-terrestrials">extra-terrestrials</keyword> for their own advancement. Some social issues and fun moments are also there, but this one hardly matches the Hollywood flicks in terms of special effects. Kids may still enjoy the movie but with <keyword id="1906261" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bhoothnath-Returns">Bhoothnath Returns</keyword> (starring <keyword id="6357912" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="amitabh-bachchan">Amitabh Bachchan</keyword>) hitting the theatres on April 11, Ebn-E-Batuta is not likely to enjoy much exposure at the box office during the second weekend.

The NCW Chairperson emphasised that the decision reinforces the principle that no woman should be left without support and protection under the law. Rekha Sharma also addressed the "lewd" comment incident that occurred earlier regarding a picture of the widow of Kirti Chakra recipient Captain Anshuman Singh. NCW chief Rekha Sharma said, "It was a very derogatory comment that we saw on social media, and we immediately took suo motu cognizance of it. The police have filed an FIR against this person. However, the individual is most likely from Pakistan." "Many such comments are being made, and we are taking those comments very seriously and urging the police to file FIRs in those cases as well," she added. Delhi Police acknowledged the National Commission for Women's (NCW) letter to the Delhi Commissioner of Police, demanding the arrest of the man and submission of a detailed report to the panel within three days. The police said a complaint was received from the National Commission for Women, alleging that a social media user had made an extremely lewd and derogatory comment on a picture of the widow of a late soldier. Taking cognizance of the complaint and after a preliminary examination of its contents, a case FIR under Sections 79, BNS-2023, and Section 67 of the IT Act 2000 has been registered at the Police Station Special Cell, and an investigation is underway. Captain Anshuman Singh, a doctor, was posted with the 26 Punjab as a medical officer in the Siachen Glacier area. On the night of July 19, 2023, there was a fire incident at an Indian Army ammunition dump at the camp where he was posted. Captain Singh saw a fibreglass hut engulfed in fire and immediately acted to rescue four to five individuals trapped inside. He went inside the medical investigation room, which was also on fire, to retrieve the critical medical aid box but could not make it out due to heavy fire amid strong winds. He was awarded the Kirti Chakra posthumously. Captain Singh's wife, Smriti, and his mother received the award from President Droupadi Murmu.

The total number of people killed in the fire incident in the southern Kuwait locality is 49 and 42 of them are learnt to be Indians, the officials said. The IAF aircraft has been kept on stand-by to bring back the mortal remains, officials said. Hours after arriving in Kuwait, Singh met the Gulf nation's foreign minister <keyword id="22043093" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Abdullah-Ali-Al-Yahya" source="Orion">Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya</keyword>. "In an unfortunate and tragic fire incident earlier today in a Labour housing facility in Mangaf area of Kuwait, around 40 Indians are understood to have died and over 50 injured," the Ministry of External Affairs had said in a statement late on Wednesday night. Jaishankar spoke to his Kuwaiti counterpart Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya on phone and urged him for the early repatriation of the mortal remains of those killed. "Spoke to Kuwaiti FM Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya on the fire tragedy in Kuwait. Apprised of the efforts made by Kuwaiti authorities in that regard. Was assured that the incident would be fully investigated and that responsibility will be fixed," Jaishankar said on X on Wednesday night. "Urged the early repatriation of the mortal remains of those who lost their lives. He emphasized that those injured were getting the requisite medical attention," he said. Amid the ongoing resurgence of new Covid-19 cases in India, an expert panel of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation on Tuesday approved Merck's anti-viral drug molnupiravir for restricted use in emergency situations. Earlier this year, the Sun Pharma had signed a non-exclusive voluntary licensing agreement with US-based Merck to manufacture and supply a generic version of molnupiravir in over 100 low and middle-income countries (LMICs) including India. The DCGI, based on the review of clinical data of molnupiravir has approved molnupiravir for treatment of adult patients with Covid-19, with oxygen saturation less than 93 per cent and who have high risk of progression of the disease, including hospitalisation or death. "Molnupiravir is an important addition to the portfolio of oral therapies available for treating Covid-19 patients. In line with our consistent efforts to accelerate access to new drugs for Covid-19 treatment, we will make Molxvir available to patients at an affordable price," said Kirti Ganorkar, CEO of India Business, Sun Pharma, in a statement. Ganorkar added that the company is in the process of launching a toll-free helpline to ensure the availability of Molxvir to doctors and patients across India. "Our endeavour is to make the product available in a week's time," she said. The recommended dose of the drug is 800 mg twice a day for five days. The duration of treatment of molnupiravir is much shorter compared to other therapies which is a significant advantage as it reduces the pill burden and enhances compliance. Molnupiravir is an oral anti-viral that inhibits the replication of multiple RNA viruses including SARS-CoV-2. The drug is used for the treatment of non-hospitalised patients with Covid-19 globally. Molnupiravir has been developed by Merck and Ridgeback Biotherapeutics. New Delhi, Jun 2 () Eight nurses have tested positive for COVID-19 at a private hospital here, over a week after a nursing staff member of the facility died of the infection, officials said on Tuesday. The employee of Kalra Hospital had died of COVID-19 on May 24 at the Safdarjung Hospital. "Around eight nurses of our hospital had tested positive a few days ago. Three of them are kept in an isolation facility at our hospital only and the rest are asymptomatic. So, as per guidelines they have been told to be home-quarantined," said Dr R N Kalra, owner of the hospital. The 112-bed private facility is located in Kirti Nagar in west Delhi.  According to IANS, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who had shot down a Pakistani F-16 near the Line of Control (LoC) on February 27, has been shortlisted for the Vir Chakra. The Vir Chakra is the third-highest military honour awarded for acts of bravery in the presence of the enemy. The army also released the poster for the Tribute Song ‘Tu Desh Mera’ for the CRPF Martyrs of Pulwama. The top five awardees of the paramilitary forces include Harshpal Singh, Constable Sable Dnyaneshwar Shriram, Constable Zaker Hussain, Shaheed Ct. Mohd Mojahid Khan, and Sh. Loukrakpam Ibomcha Singh. The other lesser known inheritors of political families are Akilesh Singh, the grandson of Akhilesh Singh - Congress Rajya Sabha MP and Shashwat Kedar, the grandson of Kedar Pandey, the former chief minister. Ashok Yadav, the contesting candidate for Madhubani for BJP is the son of Hukumdeo Narayan Yadav, the sitting MP of BJP.
