Period action thriller "<keyword id="11968113" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="kantara" source="Orion">Kantara</keyword>" will start streaming on <keyword id="2189512" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="prime-video" source="Orion">Prime Video</keyword> on Thursday, the platform has announced. Written and directed by <keyword id="1342484" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rishab-shetty" source="Orion">Rishab Shetty</keyword>, the hit Kannada film was released in theatres on September 30. The story of "Kantara" is set around a small community living in the woodlands of Kaadubettu in the southern coastal state of Karnataka. Weaving an interesting plot of human versus nature conflict, where death leads to war between villagers and evil forces and Shiva, a rebel defends his village and nature. Shetty, who also plays the protagonist Shiva in the film, said he is excited about the global digital premiere of "Kantara" on Prime Video. "Audiences from all corners of the country have showered immense love on Kantara and I am extremely excited that with its global digital premiere on Prime Video we will be able to take our labour of love and hard work to a wider audience worldwide. "It is a story that has universal appeal but the plot's local flavour will keep viewers intrigued until the very end," the actor-filmmaker said in a statement. Producer Vijay <keyword id="2321406" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="kiragandur" source="Orion">Kiragandur</keyword> of Hombale Films said the banner is always on the lookout for engaging tales in an extraordinary yet relatable manner like "Kantara". "'Kantara' is yet another film by us that has touched the hearts of audiences from varied regions and backgrounds. Rishab and the entire cast and crew have worked incredibly hard to create this beautiful film and we are delighted to take it to audiences across the globe through the exclusive launch on Prime Video," added Kiragandur. Prime Video announces worldwide digital premiere of 'Kantara'

Actor-filmmaker <keyword id="1342484" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="rishab-shetty" source="Orion">Rishab Shetty</keyword>'s latest <keyword id="6354291" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="kannada" source="Orion">Kannada</keyword> film '<keyword id="11968113" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="kantara" source="Orion">Kantara</keyword>' has broken the record of Yash-starrer 'KGF 2' and has come out victorious by becoming the highest-rated Indian film on IMDB. The film, which was released on September 30, is an action-thriller written and directed by <keyword id="214502" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="rishabh" source="Orion">Rishabh</keyword> and produced by <keyword id="3530673" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="vijay-kiragandur" source="Orion">Vijay Kiragandur</keyword>. According to IMDB, the film has a rating of 9.5/10. 'KGF-2' has been rated with 8.4 and 'RRR' has 8.0. Set and filmed in Keraadi in coastal Karnataka, the film stars Rishabh as a Kambala champion, who is at loggerheads with an upright DRFO officer, Murali (Kishore). Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara' becomes highest-rated Indian film, beats 'KGF 2', 'RRR'

Mumbai, First part of Prabhas-led action film series "<keyword id="10367331" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="salaar" source="Orion">Salaar</keyword>" will hit the theatres on December 22, the makers announced Friday, setting up stage for a <keyword id="25892" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="box-office" source="Orion">box office</keyword> clash with superstar Shah Rukh Khan's "<keyword id="13651161" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="dunki" source="Orion">Dunki</keyword>" releasing on the same day. Producer Hombale Films shared the release date of the much-anticipated film, titled '"Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire", on the banner's official page on X. "#SalaarCeaseFire Worldwide Release On Dec 22, 2023," the post read. The movie was originally scheduled to premiere on September 28 but earlier this month the release was pushed by the makers due to "unforseen circumstances". The first part of the pan-India film series is billed as a big-budget action adventure. It is directed by Prashanth Neel of the "KGF" franchise fame and produced by Vijay Kiragandur. The film will also feature Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Eshwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu and Sriya Reddy. "Dunki" is directed by Rajkumar Hirani from a script he co-wrote with Abhijaat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon. The film will be Shah Rukh's third release of 2023 after "Pathaan" and "Jawan". Both the films have crossed Rs 1000 crore mark at the global box office.

Vijay Kiragandur, the founder of Hombale Films, said the company is planning to produce movies in all south languages. "We intend to invest Rs 3,000 crore for the next five years in the entertainment industry in India. We believe the entertainment industry will grow more and more. "It will be a mixed bag of stories. Every year there will be five-six films including one event movie. As of now we have plans of making movies in all south languages," Kiragandur told PTI in an interview. The goal, the producer said, is to reach out to a wider audience through culturally rooted stories. "We want to make something that is liked by the global audience, but we want it to be rooted in our culture and tradition. We want to leave something behind for the younger generation. We also want to contribute towards the Indian economy," he added. In order to expand their viewership, the Bangalore-based production banner has decided to join hands with writers and filmmakers from the Hindi film industry. Without divulging details, Hombale Films partner Chaluve Gowda said they have roped in two leading writers from Bollywood to pen movies for the banner. "We are working with a couple of writers in Hindi... Once the story is ready then we will look for directors and then actors. We first concentrate on writers because they are the ones who create the story," he said. The company's upcoming movie slate includes pan-India Prabhas-starrer "Salaar", set to be released on September 28. The action adventure film is directed by Prashanth Neel. They are also backing multilingual film "Dhoomam", Kannada action movie "Bagheera" and <keyword id="6356629" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tamil" source="Orion">Tamil</keyword> film "Raghuthata" with Keerti Suresh. The banner is launching Yuva Rajkumar, grandson of superstar Rajkumar, in one of their upcoming titles. The film will be directed by Santhosh Anandram and it will be released by the end of 2023. "For the next year we have four to five movies and for another two years we will have 12 to 14 movies," Kiragandur added. In 2024, there is a social thriller "Tyson" in pipeline with Prithviraj Sukumaran, "Richard Anthony" with Rakshit Shetty and a movie with director Sudha Kongara of "Soorarai Pottru" fame. Hombale Films, which was founded in 2013, tasted pan-India success in 2018 with period action "K.G.F: Chapter 1" starring Yash. The first film produced by the company was Puneeth Rajkumar-led "Ninnindale". This year the banner had a golden run at the global box office with "KGF: Chapter 2" and "Kantara" emerging as big successes. Both the movies have reportedly earned over Rs 2,000 crore worldwide. "We were able to beat some records that we created, like 'Kantara' became the highest grossing film in Karnataka. For 'KGF 2' the footfalls were six crore and for 'Kantara' it was about two-and-half to three crore," Kiragandur said. Also in the pipeline is the third part of "KGF", which Gowda said will become their focus after director Neel completes "Salaar". "There are plans to make 'KGF 3'. Currently, Prashant is busy with 'Salaar' and once he has completed the movie then he will work on the script (for 'KGF 3'). He has a storyline... It can happen next year or after that," the producer said.
