Kanika Kapoor tests negative for Coronavirus — but she’ll have to clear it one more time just to be sure

More than a month after testing positive for the coronavirus, singer <keyword id="1758842" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kanika-Kapoor">Kanika Kapoor</keyword> on Sunday said there have been several "wrong exchanges of information" regarding her travel timeline and battle with the disease. Kanika, who was the first Bollywood personality to test positive for the novel virus on March 20, came under attack for <keyword id="6357355" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Negligence">negligence</keyword> and not practising self-quarantine despite returning to the country from the UK amid the coronavirus pandemic. She was also booked by the <keyword id="6366241" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="uttar-pradesh-police">Uttar Pradesh Police</keyword> for negligence and committing acts that were likely to spread the infection after she attended at least three gatherings in Lucknow, including a party where political personalities, including senior BJP leader and former Rajasthan Chief Minister <keyword id="6361795" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vasundhara-Raje">Vasundhara Raje</keyword> and her son, Dushyant Singh, were present. In a statement, the singer said she is aware of "several versions of stories" about her diagnosis, but "negativity thrown at a person does not change the reality". "Some of these seem to be fuelled even more because I have chosen to be silent till now. I stayed quiet not because I am wrong but in-fact being fully aware that there have been misunderstandings and wrong exchanges of information. "I travelled from the UK to Mumbai on March 10 and was duly screened at the international airport. There was no advisory on that day (UK travel advisory was released on 18 March) that stated that I needed to quarantine myself. I showed no ill health so did not quarantine myself." The singer said she travelled to Lucknow to meet her family on March 11 and claimed there was "no screening setup for domestic flights". On March 14 and 15, Kanika said she attended a friend's lunch and dinner and clarified "there was no party hosted by me and I was in absolute normal health." However, on March 17 and 18, she developed symptoms and said she got herself tested on March 19. "On March 20 when informed that my test was positive, I chose to go to the hospital. I was discharged after there negative tests and have since been at home for 21 days. "I want to especially thank the doctors and nurses who have so graciously taken care of me during a very emotionally testing time. I hope that all can deal with this matter with honesty and sensitivity," she added. She has given her blood sample for testing at the King George's Medical University (KGMU) here, they said. "Singer Kanika Kapoor on Monday expressed her desire to KGMU doctors to donate plasma. After this, she was called and her blood sample was taken for testing. If everything is found appropriate in the report (of the blood test), she will be called on Monday evening or Tuesday to donate her plasma," Tulika Chandra, Head of Department of Transfusion Medicine, KGMU told . "So far, three COVID-19 patients, who have recovered from the infection at the KGMU, have donated their plasma. Convalescent Plasma Therapy is an experimental procedure for COVID-19 patients. In this treatment, plasma (a blood component) from a cured COVID-19 patient is transfused to a critically ill coronavirus patient.The blood of a person who has recovered from COVID-19 develops antibodies to battle against the virus.The idea behind the therapy is that immunity can be transferred from a healthy person to a sick patient using convalescent plasma. Once the blood plasma of the recovered patient is infused with that of the second patient, the antibodies start fighting against coronavirus in the second person's body.The process of donating plasma is similar to that of donating blood and takes about an hour. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had recently asked the state's medical authorities to promote plasma therapy for the treatment of COVID-19 patients after examining its efficacy. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has recently allowed states to start clinical trials of plasma therapy. Many states like Kerala, Gujarat and Punjab have already started using it for treatment of coronavirus patients. "I feel with this film ('Thank You For Coming'), female orgasm, female desire, and all this is one part of the film, these are small themes in the film, but there are more important things that the film comments about. Mumbai, Apr 15 () Jewelery designer Farah Khan Ali has revealed that a member of her in-house staff has been tested positive for the coronavirus.In a Twitter post on Tuesday, Farah said the staff member was taken to a hospital post his COVID-19 diagnosis."COVID news spreads faster than the virus. An in-house staff of mine tested positive today and so am moving him to a facility. Have all tested all at home today as well and are going to be quarantined. Be safe yet strong. This too shall pass," she tweeted. In a later post, Farah, who is the daughter of Bollywood veteran Sanjay Khan, praised the local municipal body, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the team of doctors for the way they dealt with the patient."Have to say the @mybmc and their docs in Mumbai is amazing with dealing with COVID patients.
