The ₹976-crore IPO of ESAF Small Finance Bank will comprise a fresh issue worth ₹800 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) aggregating up to ₹176.2 crore. Samsung Galaxy S20 series gets Galaxy S21 series camera features with new update

In a statement it described the approval as a "critical and very exciting milestone" in Australia's pandemic response. "Specific approval of Australian manufacturing by TGA was required to ensure that the locally-manufactured vaccine had exactly the same composition and performance as overseas-manufactured vaccine, was made to the same quality and is free of contaminants," it said. Australia has agreed to acquire 53.8 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, 50 million of which will be produced by CSL. The TGA said that the first domestically-produced vaccines were expected to be released "in the next few days". Greg Hunt, the minister for health, said it was a "critical next step". "It means the manufacturing process for CSL has been approved, it's safe, it's effective," he told the <keyword id="151135" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Australian-Broadcasting-Corporation">Australian Broadcasting Corporation</keyword> (ABC). The approval is expected to significantly accelerate the speed of the vaccine rollout in Australia. The latest stone on the mountain of controversy The Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) announced an action plan, which included a university-wide shut down, against the delay in release of grands on March 11. Within a day, the Delhi government released ₹82.79 crore under salary heads and ₹9.5 crore as the fourth quarter installment. However, this was not enough to appease the frustrated faculty. According to them, they <a href="https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/delhi/duta-protest-arvind-kejriwal-7230004/">should not have to beg</a> for their salaries using threats and other means. The release of funds does not solve the sphere of problems that the colleges now have with the government. The protestors who marched towards Kejriwal’s home weren’t able to reach the gates, but did hand over a memorandum addressed to him at the barricades where they were stopped. The Delhi government’s move to divest While these 12 colleges — which includes Maharaja Agrasen College, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College — get their funding from the Delhi government, they are still governed by the rules of the University Grants Commission (UGC). And, the Delhi government is asking these colleges to adopt the ‘Pattern of Assistance’. What do the experts say? The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) assert that there is no link between the two. However, they are still reviewing the data as it comes in to verify whether or not blood clotting is a result of the vaccine. “This does not necessarily mean that these events are linked to vaccination. But, it’s routine practice to investigate them — it shows that the surveillance system works and that effective controls are in place,” said the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Director-General <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/science/health/news/astrazeneca-vaccine-is-still-on-whos-radar/articleshow/81524168.cms">Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus</a> during a press briefing on March 15. Where does India stand? India, where the AstraZeneca vaccine is being manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII), is also conducting its own in-depth review to look into the possibility of blood clots. The government has either gifted or exported millions of doses of SII’s vaccine to around 70 countries since January. “We are looking at all the adverse events, particularly serious adverse events like deaths and hospitalisation. <ul><li>India's new labour codes, which include a revised definition of wages, are supposed to kick in starting April 1.</li><li>The new definition is expected to shrink your cash-in-hand salary at the end of the month but boost long term benefits like gratuity and leave encashment.</li><li>Indian companies are hoping that the implementation of these rules will get delayed as businesses are still reeling from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.</li></ul>Indian companies are hoping that the government will delay the rollout of the country’s new labour codes or at least provide some clarity ahead of the April 1 deadline. If that doesn’t happen, it could mean a sharp cut in the cash-in-hand salary that you get to take home once the new financial year kicks off. “Ideal would be if the rules get notified and everybody gets a little bit of a breather. The new legislation applies and only kicks in let us say after x,y, z days. That would be ideal but that's wishful thinking at this point,” said Shambhavi Solanki, vice president of corporate human resources (HR) at Policy Bazaar during The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) webinar on March 18. Timing is a concern for most companies. Businesses are still reeling from the impact of COVID-19 and the pandemic is not yet over. “It’s going to be a crazy implementation and I have huge questions. And, I am worried, I am anxious, to be honest,” said Sagar Daryani, the co-founder and chief executive of Wow! Momos. The National Association of Software and Service Companies’ (NASSCOM) Ashish Aggarwal believes that the rules are most likely to kick in May or June, as per his discussions with the government and the industry. “Overall, the labour codes are quite welcome. But, as with any new law, there are these initial stages where there is a lot of uncertainty,” he said. India’s new definition of wages The issue at the heart of the matter is the Indian government’s new definition of wages. It includes all remuneration, whether by way of salaries, allowance or otherwise. Exclusions — like house rent allowance (HRA), provident fund (PF) contribution and others — still exist but can’t be more than 50% of your basic salary. This means that even though companies have not been explicitly asked to redefine their compensation structure for employees, they may not have a choice but to take a second look. According to Vishal Grover, a senior consultant at professional services firm Aon Hewitt, companies in India are currently considering three options: <ul><li>A large part of the salary gets technically defined as basic pay, and the balance moves to exclusions.</li><li>They don’t change anything. They keep the structure as it is.
