The noida-based news channel aired a story on the same woman. <br /><br /><br />The Editor Guild pointed out the FIR against Vishweshwar Bhat, editor-in-chief of the Karnataka newspaper Vishwavani who published a story on Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil reporting that he got into a drunken altercation with his grandfather, former prime minister HD Deve Gowda.<br /><br /><br />The FIR in this case too is filed as a suo motu by the policy and not by the person directly affected by the story. <br />

It also decided to promulgate an ordinance to 'defer' apart of the salary of its employees for funding the COVID-19relief activities, a day after the Kerala High Court stayed agovernment order for salary cut, observing that it lackedlegal backing.</p><p>A TV journalist, who became the first from the media totest positive for coronavirus in the state, and threehealthcare workers were among the ten new cases, ChiefMinister Pinarayi Vijayan said.   Media personnel need to be careful and should exercisecaution while engaging in news gathering, he told reportershere.</p><p>Announcing the decision to make wearing of maskscompulsory, he urged people to maintain personal hygiene andkeep their locality clean as other fevers were also beingreported from various places in the state. DGP Loknath Behera later said masks have been made a mustin the state and those not wearing it in public places andwork spaces will be fined Rs 200 for first time offence.   "Penal action in the form of fine will be imposed onthose who fail to use masks in public places or in their workspace. Repeated offenders will be fined Rs 5,000," he said ina release.   Of the new cases, six were reported from Kollam, two eachfrom Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod.  "Five persons from Kollam were infected through contact,while one came to the state from Andhra Pradesh. One personfrom Thiruvananthapuram came from Tamil Nadu and one inKasaragod got it from a contact," Vijayan said.   Ten people have tested negative and the state presentlyhad 123 active cases, while the aggregate stood at 485.</p><p>At least 20,673 people, including 501 in isolation wardsof various hospitals, are under observation in the state wherea total of 24,952 samples had been sent for testing, Vijayansaid.   Vijayan said the state cabinet decided to bring anordinance to defer the salary of government employees forfunding Covid-19 relief works as the state's economy was in ashambles.  "The pandemic has affected the economy of the state.That's why we had to take a decision on deferring the six dayssalary for five months of the government employees. But thehigh court said the government order lacked legal sanctity.   "Hence, in accordance with the high court order, the statecabinet has decided to pass an ordinance in this regard,"Vijayan said.</p>Earlier, Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac said as perthe ordinance, the state government has been empowered todefer 25 per cent of the salary of the government employees incase of a disaster.    "The state government can take a decision on giving backthe deferred amount within six months. These are the twooperative provisions," Isaac said. A Turkish journalist being tried on terrorism charges survived an apparent assassination attempt outside the courthouse

I didn't do anything! I was just a bystander!"</span></strong></li><li><strong><span>Censorship of controversial thoughts and political incidents is common in China, as the government tries to maintain the stability and power of the Communist Party.</span></strong></li><li><strong><span>The woman's videos seemed to be blocked from being sent before her disappearance, and within hours the explosion had been censored online.</span></strong></li></ul><p>Men dressed in plainclothes grabbed a woman who tried to share footage of an explosion outside Beijing's US Embassy on Thursday, forced her into a car, and drove her away as she screamed.</p><p>An explosion occurred near the US Embassy as a&#xa0;<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/us-embassy-beijing-china-2018-7">device was reportedly detonated;</a>&#xa0;media descended on the scene to verify reports. Citizens began trying to share images and videos with journalists on the ground but the woman,&#xa0;<span>who was reportedly trying to share footage a friend had given to her, was soon dragged away.</span></p><p><span>According to footage from&#xa0;<a href="https://twitter.com/rebeccaludavis/status/1022427382228152321">Becky Davis</a>, Agence France-Presse's&#xa0;China correspondent, the woman was taken across the street and into a waiting car.</span></p><p><span>"Take her into the hotel," the man in the green shirt said, according to Davis' translation.</span></p><p>"Get out of here quick. Dad's waiting for you at home," he said, before yelling "This is a family matter!"</p><p>But according to Davis the woman screams "<span>I do not know that man. I didn't do anything! I was just a bystander!"</span></p><p>While it's unclear who exactly the men were and why they took the woman, Davis said it seems common for police in plainclothes to act as family members, likely in an attempt to draw less attention. After the incident Davis asked a police officer what the woman did wrong and where she had been taken.</p><p>"<span>I'm enforcing the law," the man said.</span></p><p>China is infamous for its <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/china-great-firewall-censorship-under-xi-jinping-2018-3">internet censorship</a> that seeks to suppress ideas and content that could undermine the authority and stability of the Chinese Communist Party. Shocking footage shows the moment police overran Turkey's largest newspaper using tear gas and water cannons

<p>Photos and videos circulating on Thursday appeared to show chaos erupting as reporters and protesters were waiting outside of a Brookings Institution event where Turkish President Recep Erdogan was due to speak.</p><p>Many journalists said that they were roughed up by Erdogan's security detail before being kicked out of the event, which was hosted by the DC-based think tank.</p><p><div></div></p><p><div></div></p><p><div></div></p><p><div></div></p><p class="embed-spacer">Business Insider cannot independently verify the identity of the people who appear to have been removed from the event. But&#xa0;Turkish journalist Adem Yavuz Arslan <a href="https://twitter.com/ademyavuza">tweeted</a> that "Erdogan's abusive men grabbed me" and tried to remove him from the event even though he had shown them his credentials.</p><p class="embed-spacer">Video of that moment:</p><p class="embed-spacer"><div></div></p><p>The scene was poignant given&#xa0;<span>Erdogan</span>'s policy of suppressing media freedoms in Turkey, where hundreds of journalists have been arrested under his administration and accused of having links to terrorism.</p><p>The National Press Club <a href="https://twitter.com/MahirZeynalov/status/715600891773067264">issued a statement</a> on Thursday expressing "alarm" about reports that&#xa0;<span>Erdogan</span>'s security personnel had "physically abused journalists" outside the event.</p><p>"We have increasingly seen disrespect for basic human rights and press freedom here in Turkey," the statement read. "Erdogan doesn't get to export such abuse."</p><p>Inside the event, Erdogan responded to a question about his country's practice of jailing journalists by saying that "only seven of them [in jail] are actually journalists ... and two have ties to terrorists."</p><p>He added that while he accepts and encourages criticism, he cannot allow himself to be insulted by the press.</p><p>"Insult is not humane ... Criticism is humane,"&#xa0;<span>Erdogan</span>&#xa0;told Brookings' Executive Vice President Martin Indyk.
