Mumbai, Former Lok Sabha Speaker and ex-Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar G. <keyword id="19952829" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="joshi" source="keywords">Joshi</keyword>, a senior <keyword id="19905334" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shiv-sena" source="keywords">Shiv Sena</keyword> (UBT) leader, passed away following a heart attack early on Friday morning. "Our family is deeply saddened to inform you that <keyword id="20281058" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="manohar-joshi" source="keywords">Manohar Joshi</keyword> passed away today morning at 3 a.m. following prolonged age related health issues," his family said in a terse announcement at dawn. Joshi, 86, was rushed to the Hinduja Hospital in Mahim after suffering a heart attack late on Thursday. 'Sir', as he was popular in political circles because of his teaching background and a stern demeanour, succumbed during treatment around 3 a.m., plunging the state political fraternity into gloom. His family said that Joshi's mortal remains will be kept at their home in Matunga to enable people to pay their last respects from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., and then taken in a procession for the funeral at Dadar Crematorium around 3 p.m. One of the closest confidantes of the late Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, Joshi had over six decades in politics starting as a Municipal Corporator, then Mayor, Maharashtra CM, Union Minister, then crowning glory as the Speaker of Lok Sabha. Joshi had been suffering from certain old-age related ailments for the past several months and largely kept out of public glare, but remained with the SS-UBT, till he breathed his last. Top leaders across the political spectrum have paid rich tributes to Joshi who headed the first-ever saffron government in the state comprising the undivided Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party (1995-1999), in an era when politics was more principled and less unscrupulous. Prime Minister <keyword id="19895781" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="narendra-modi" source="keywords">Narendra Modi</keyword> condoled the demise of the veteran leader. Manohar Joshi: The 'Sir' with a stern demeanour

Mumbai, Feb 23 (PTI) Former <keyword id="19895394" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="lok-sabha" source="keywords">Lok Sabha</keyword> Speaker Manohar <keyword id="19952829" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="joshi" source="keywords">Joshi</keyword> passed away at a Mumbai hospital on Friday, where he was admitted after suffering a cardiac arrest. Joshi (86) was admitted to <keyword id="20694838" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hinduja-hospital" source="keywords">Hinduja Hospital</keyword> in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on February 21 and passed away early Friday, the private medical facility said. Joshi Sir, as he was popularly known, was the first chief minister of the undivided Shiv Sena and held the post during 1995-1999. He was admitted to the hospital in May last year after suffering a brain haemorrhage. He was also elected as a member of Parliament and was the Lok Sabha Speaker from 2002 to 2004 when the Vajpayee government was in power. Born on December 2, 1937 in coastal Konkan region of Maharashtra, Joshi obtained his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the prestigious Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) in Mumbai. His political career began with his involvement in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and he later became a member of the Shiv Sena. In the 1980s, Joshi emerged as a key leader within the Shiv Sena, and was known for his organisational skills. He was the Lok Sabha Speaker from 2002 to 2004 when the Vajpayee government was in power. The former Union minister was married to Anagha Joshi, who died in 2020 at the age of 75. He is survived by a son and two daughters. Joshi began his career as a teacher and entered politics in 1967. He was associated with the Shiv Sena for more than four decades. He was a municipal councilor in Mumbai during 1968-70 and Chairman, Standing Committee of the Mumbai municipal corporation in 1970. He was the Mayor of Mumbai during 1976-1977. He was then elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Council in 1972. After serving three terms in the Legislative Council, Joshi was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 1990 and was the Leader of the Opposition in the assembly during 1990-91. In the 1999 general elections, Joshi won from the Mumbai North-Central Lok Sabha Constituency as a Shiv Sena candidate, and was later Union minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises. Condoling Joshi's demise, Union minister Nitin Gadkari, who was a member of the Maharashtra ministry when the former was the CM, said the state had lost a "cultured face" of politics. Joshi's family said his last rites will be performed at Shivaji Park crematorium in Dadar area.

By Nikhil Bapat Mumbai, Jun 22 () He is Mumbai cricket's longtime 'Numbers Man' but 55-year-old scorer Deepak Joshi now has a way bigger assignment than keeping a tally of the fours and sixes hit by the Virat Kohlis and Rohit Sharmas. Joshi, a medical technologist is employed with a South Mumbai Hospital for past 28 years but of late is on frontline duty performing X-Ray for all suspected COVID-19 patients. Joshi, who stays in Virar, a far-away suburb from Mumbai, re-joined duty on May 24. "On May 24, I travelled in three buses for over three hours and re-joined duty whole-heartedly at the hospital. In my eight-hour daily shift, I handle 15-20 suspected COVID19 patients and primarily take their chest X-Rays," Joshi told on Monday. For nearly a month now, Joshi, who has been MCA's official scorer in over 328 games (domestic and international) hasn't gone home. "I haven't visited my home since May 24 and have been staying in the accommodation provided by the hospital. I thank the hospital management for the same," he said. It could be anything between three to six months that Joshi won't be able to meet his family but that he believes is a small price to pay being a frontline worker in these distressing times. "My wife and daughters are worried about my safety, but still they are encouraging me to continue working .They want me to take all the necessary precautions. Their support means a lot to me," said Joshi. He was proud that Mumbai Cricket Association has lauded him for being a frontline warrior. "Also, some of the officials of the Mumbai Cricket Association spoke to me and complimented me for the work I am doing. That also keeps me motivated," added Joshi, who has been an official scorer for 11 Tests, 21 ODIs and 5 T20s. According to Joshi, since he is residing in the hospital premises, he is available for duty round the clock or whenever the need arises apart from his regular shift hours. Delhi CM announces Sharman Joshi-starrer movie 'Fauji Calling'  tax free in Delhi

Vadodara, Feb 18 () Union Coal and Mines Minister Pralhad Joshi has announced that the government looks to stop the substitutable import of thermal coal from 2023-24. The government wants to bridge the substitutable shortfall by 2023-24, he told on the sidelines of a two-day brainstorming session organised at Kevadia in neighbouring Bharuch district, about 90 km from Vadodara. The government recently introduced an ordinance to amend regulations to open up coal mining to other firms outside of the steel and power sectors, Joshi stated. "Whatever the substitutable shortfall is there, we want toachieve it by 2023-2024. We want to stop the substitutable import of the coal." The government may conduct an auction of 100 fully explored blocks, Joshi said.The latest move in the coal sector is expected to create an efficient energy market, thereby bringing more competition, while reducing coal imports.The brainstorming session that started on Monday was organised to discuss out of the box solutions to overcome various bottle necks in increasing coal production and provide innovative solutions to the coal sector, Joshi said. Highlighting key takeaways of the session, Joshi said various ways and means were discussed with key stakeholders to achieve 1 billion tonnes coal production target by Coal India by 2023-24. The ministry of coal will coordinate with Indian Railways and shipping ministry to enable Coal India to evacuate more coal by 2030. Stressing upon the diversification in the coal sector, Joshi said that idea has also been mooted at the session that CIL could think of coming up with the art of pithead thermal power plants to transform it into an integrated company. He said it was also proposed that CIL could generate 5GW of solar power by 2023-24 and could diversify into coal gasification with a target of 5 million tonnes by 2030 enabling a sustainable energy mix for the country. India looks to stop thermal coal import by 2023-24:Joshi

The <keyword id="44171" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="ugc" source="Orion">UGC</keyword> has warned edtech companies and colleges offering degrees in collaborative arrangements with <keyword id="6726010" type="General" weightage="70" keywordseo="foreign-universities" source="Orion">foreign universities</keyword> not recognised by it, according to officials. The <keyword id="56459" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="university-grants-commission" source="Orion">University Grants Commission</keyword> (UGC) has also reiterated that none of these degrees will be valid and cautioned students against taking admission in such courses. "It has been observed that many <keyword id="505101" type="General" weightage="60" keywordseo="Higher-Education-Institutions" source="Orion">Higher Education Institutions</keyword> (HEIs) and colleges have entered into collaborative agreements with foreign-based educational institutions or providers not recognised by the commission and have been facilitating the issuance of foreign degrees to the students," UGC Secretary <keyword id="722170" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="manish-joshi" source="Orion">Manish Joshi</keyword> said. "Any such kind of collaboration or arrangement is not recognised by the UGC and, accordingly, the degrees issued subsequent to such collaboration arrangement are also not recognised by the commission," he added. Joshi said it has also come to the UGC's notice that some edtech companies are advertising in newspapers, social media and television, offering degree and diploma programmes in online mode in association with some foreign universities and institutions. "Such a franchisee arrangement is not permissible and any such programme or degree shall not have UGC recognition. Action will also be taken against all the defaulting edtech companies as well as the HEIs under applicable regulations," Joshi added. "Students and the general public are advised to exercise due caution and any enrolment in such courses will be at their own risk," Joshi added.

UGC warns edtech companies offering degree courses online in association with foreign universities

Vadodara, Feb 17 () Union minister Pralhad Joshi has said the Centre aims self-sufficiency in the coal sector by 2024 and the changes in the coal mining policy have been effected to achieve the same.Joshi -- Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines and Coal -- was speaking at a two-day brainstorming session in Narmada district, about 100 km from Vadodara. Senior officials of the coal ministry, chairmen and managing directors of public sector undertakings are attending the event.Joshi said India stood fifth in terms of coal reserves and the Centre wasworking towards achieving self-sufficiency in coal production. He also talked about a move of the government that opens up the sector to players outside steel and power as well as removes end-use restrictions. Adding that the move is likely to create an efficient energy market and bring in more competition as well as reduce coal imports. In 2018, the government allowed commercial mining by private entities and set a mining target of 1.5 billion tonnes by 2020. Out of this, 1 billion tonnes was set to be from Coal India, while 500 million tonnes was to be from non-Coal India entities. India aims to be self-sufficient in coal production by 2024: Joshi

New Delhi, March 28 () The government on Saturday said it is working to ensure critical coal supplies during the lockdown on account of coronavirus outbreak.Coal stocks at power plants stand at 41.8 million tonnes (MT) equivalent to 24 days consumption as of March 26, 2020."Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Pralhad Joshi has ensured that Coal supplies are declared as an Essential service and directed all the officials of Ministry of Coal to work harder to ensure that critical coal supplies are maintained during the lockdown period due to COVID 19 pandemic so that power and other critical sectors are unaffected due to the current situation," Ministry of Coal said in a statement.Daily meetings of all senior officers of the ministry are being held for monitoring coal production, supplies and despatch, it said.The first such virtual meeting was taken on March 26, 2020 through video conferencing by Coal Secretary Anil Kumar Jain.A daily report will be given to the coal minister. As Ministry of Coal is a fully paperless office the entire staff is working on the e-office platform from the ministry or at home as per duty rosters, it said.The minister informed that various steps have been taken to ensure the easy and adequate availability of coal to every coal dependent industry/Power Sector.The Union minister appreciated work being done by Coal India Limited where all officers and workers are ensuring the coal production and supplies are not affected in these critical times.Joshi further assured that no approvals requiring concurrence of Ministry of Coal would be held up during the current lockdown. Working to ensure critical coal supplies during lockdown: Joshi

New Delhi, Dec 16 () Regulator Sebi has imposed a one-year ban on K P Joshi &amp; Co from auditing any listed company for preparing fake and inflated financial results of Coral Hub Ltd. 
 Besides, K P Joshi, proprietor of the audit firm, has also been barred for one year.
 The regulator has restrained listed companies and registered intermediaries from engaging audit firm wherein Joshi is associated directly or indirectly for issuing any certificate for one year.
 This is the first order passed by Sebi on an auditor after the Supreme Court in November stayed an order of the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) which had held that markets watchdog does not have the power to bar auditors.
 This comes after Sebi had challenged SAT's decision to quash a two-year ban that was imposed on PwC in connection with the Rs 7,800 crore Satyam fraud.
 In the present case, an investigation was undertaken by Sebi from April, 2008 to June, 2010 into the matter of manipulation of revenues and profits of Coral Hub Ltd (CHL).
 The probe found that the company and its directors had inflated its sales which led to false and misleading reporting of financial results in the annual reports of the company.
 KP Joshi &amp; Co was the statutory auditor of the company during the investigation period.
 The regulator's investigation unearthed that annual sales figures reported in the annual financial statements of the company for 2008-09 and 2009-10, with respect to two of its customers, were inflated by over Rs 70 crore. 
 Joshi did not cross check or verify the sales with purchasing parties and instead chose to accept whatever sales figures were reported to him by the director and CFO of the company.
 Sebi said Joshi, in connivance and in collusion with the management of CHL, concocted false accounts during the period of investigation. 
 Such manipulated and misleading results were reported in the company's annual reports and were also disseminated to the public through the stock exchanges which in turn misled the investors into investing in securities of the firm
 However, Joshi in his submission to the regulator denied all the allegations.
 "I have no hesitation to conclude that the alleged acts of the noticee (Joshi) as an auditor of a listed company are found to be in violation of provisions of...Sebi PFUTP (Prohibition of Fraudulent and Unfair Trade Practices) Regulations," Sebi's Whole Time Director S K Mohanty said in his 19-page order passed on Friday.
 Accordingly, Sebi said, "noticee (Joshi) shall not directly or indirectly issue any certificate of audit and render any other auditing services including issuances of certificates of compliances, whatsoever, to any listed companies and intermediaries registered with Sebi...for a period of 1 year".
 The regulator has clarified that such directions may not impact ongoing audit assignments already undertaken by Joshi and he shall complete such ongoing audit assignments as expeditiously within six months. SP

Sebi bans auditor for one year in Coral Hub case

Last week’s eviction of the <keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword>’s trimurti – <keyword id="47100" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Atal-Bihari-Vajpayee">Atal Bihari Vajpayee</keyword>, <keyword id="58476" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Murli-Manohar-Joshi">Murli Manohar Joshi</keyword> and <keyword id="50272" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Lal-Krishna-Advani">Lal Krishna Advani</keyword> – from the party’s parliamentary board marked the final nail in the coffin of their political career. Their exit means an end of an era, which should have been more graceful and dignified. Instead of sacking them from the membership of the parliamentary board, they should have been allowed to fade away or kept as ‘honorary members.’ 
 Leaders from the opposition have started taking a dig at this decision. Recently, Congress leader and former Cabinet minister Manish Tewari said that this recent development clearly indicates that the “process of complete centralisation of power in one hand.” Another Congress leader Rashid Alvi said, “The <keyword id="2490292" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Margdarshak-Mandal">Margdarshak Mandal</keyword> is a ‘mookdarshak mandal.’ It is like an old-age home from where Advani and Joshi will witness the functioning of the BJP like mutes.” 
 
Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani and MM Joshi were the pivots around which the party was built. Their role in building the BJP is unquestionable. They helped propel the party, from an insignificant political player with just two Lok Sabha MPs in the 1984 elections, to the single-largest party in 1996. 
 
Vajpayee, often referred to as the Bheeshm Pitamah of Indian politics, was the founder president of the party, and Advani and Joshi were general secretaries. Vajpayee was the party’s chief orator, statesman, and the most acceptable and respectable face of the party. 
 
Advani was the organiser and charioteer, who organised movements to propagate BJP’s core ideology of Hindutva. His Rath Yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya was crucial in building the Ram Temple movement and helped BJP form a government in the country’s largest state of Uttar Pradesh, thereby bringing the party into the mainstream politics. Advani was also a talent-spotter. He nurtured a pool of second-rung leaders, which ironically included Modi, besides Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Ananth Kumar and others. 
 Joshi, a PhD in Spectroscopy from <keyword id="6364092" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Allahabad-University">Allahabad University</keyword>, was the intellectual face of the party. He was the key man behind the process of manifesto preparation and policy formulation of the party. 
 Alongside the rise in the stature of Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword>, there has been a steady and parallel decline in the fortunes of party stalwarts MM Joshi and LK Advani. Unlike Vajpayee, who is ailing, both the leaders are still fit and active politicians whose vast political experience and acumen could have been used by the party. However, their eviction from the parliamentary board – the party’s highest decision-making body – can only be attributed to Modi’s attempt at complete centralisation of power and further strengthen his stranglehold on the party by undermining the leaders taller than him. 
 On the contrary, other political parties are giving their seniors due respect. For instance, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) continued with veteran leader <keyword id="2502752" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Harkishan-Singh-Surjit">Harkishan Singh Surjit</keyword> as the party’s general secretary till 2005 and the party came up with its best ever performance so far by winning 43 seats. He was also a member of the party's Politburo till 2008, when he died at the age of 92. Even in the Congress, where many leaders complain of being sidelined to give way to Rahul Gandhi, <keyword id="219946" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Motilal-Vora">Motilal Vora</keyword> (86) is still the party’s treasurer and also a member of the Congress Working Committee. 
 
It is sad to see that the BJP, which talks about Hindutva, seems to have forgotten that giving due respect to elders is the essence of the Hindu culture and the Hindu society reposes great faith in the wisdom of elders.

BJP’s Founding Forefathers Reduced To ‘Mookdarshak’

After conducting in-depth tests on 1532 mobile towers, experts on Thursday said that low-powered, non-ionizing radiation emitted from the cell towers has no ill effects on human health. Officials said that the North East Licensed Service Area (NE-LSA) of the Department of Telecommunications has tested 1532 Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) from April to November this year and all the mobile towers have been found compliant as per DoT norms on electric and magnetic fields radiation. While addressing a webinar on electromagnetic radiations from mobile towers, Dr Tushar <keyword id="15608804" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="kant-joshi" source="Orion">Kant Joshi</keyword>, Advisor, Ministry of Health and Director, OEM Programme, Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health, assured that "it has been found that low powered, non-ionizing radiation emitted from cell towers have no ill effects on human health" Referring to the scientific research, <keyword id="6157" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="joshi" source="Orion">Joshi</keyword> said that it becomes extremely essential to address the spread of misinformation and provide an authentic view of health concerns related to mobile towers. It is also important to be informed that no scientific or medical evidence is available to corroborate the argument used against mobile towers, he pointed out. Shillong-based Senior Deputy Director General of the North-East LSA Ravi <keyword id="6394938" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="goel" source="Orion">Goel</keyword> highlighted the need for telecom services in <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> and pressed on the challenges faced by the stakeholders of the industry. "We are venturing into an age of hyper-connectivity where the government is making every effort to densify telecom infrastructure and telecom towers as these are the backbone of Indian mobile communications. "In order to magnify the efforts, it is important that the fear surrounding the theories about ill effects of <keyword id="874194" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="emf" source="Orion">EMF</keyword> radiations from mobile towers are addressed factually to dispel such misconceptions," Goel stated. Deputy Director General of North-East LSA (Compliance) A.K.Jain said that the government has adopted one of the most stringent emission standards for mobile towers in the world. He said: "We follow norms that are 10 times stricter than what has been prescribed by ICNIRP and recommended by WHO globally. DoT continuously monitors the EMF emission levels from towers across India and ensures compliance with the stipulated emission norms throughout the country." The experts in the awareness event also mentioned that unscrupulous companies, agencies and individuals cheat the public by promising them hefty monthly rental payments for the installation of mobile towers. Such fraudsters ask the public to deposit money in their personal, and companies' accounts under various names against security deposits, application fees, registration charges, stamp duty, and government tax under Telecom Act among others. Further, it was also highlighted that use of telecom services through SIM cards and signals of foreign service providers in Indian Territory violates the Indian Telegraph Act 1885 and persons involved in such types of acts are liable to punishment as per the act and other acts and rules. An official statement said that India holds the potential to lead the telecommunications technology sector across the globe. Misconceptions among a section of the population about the health hazards of EMF radiation should not override the factual information made available through scientific research. Eight High Courts of India have also upheld the same view and have delivered judgments that disprove all such unfounded fears and misguided activism that is posing a severe challenge to the overall growth and connectivity of the country, the statement said. <ul><li>In an interview with Business Insider India, <keyword id="7420771" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Naaz-Joshi">Naaz Joshi</keyword>, revealed her journey of becoming three-time Miss Diversity 2018 in India. </li><li>She was abandoned at the age of 7 and gang raped at the age of 11. </li><li>Despite all these odds, Naaz sponsored her own education and studied fashion design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) however found it difficult to land a job at design houses. </li><li>She went under sex reassignment surgeries in 2013 and started her career in modelling. </li><li>Her next endeavour is to push for legal marriages for the LGBTQIA+ community. </li></ul>Aizya Naaz Joshi created history when won the Miss Diversity 2019 pageant for this third time, at Port Louis in Mauritius.  "My father still is not accepting me. He strongly believes that I have brought shame to the society and the family. He asked me not to use his last name," Naaz told Business Insider India. ‘I had no idea what rape even meant.’ Naaz was born a transgender to a multicultural family. Her mother is a Muslim while her father is a Hindu. In spite of having a twin brother and another younger brother, and she was always the odd one out. "When I grew up a little,all the relative told my parents to send me to the trans (hijra) community. But they declined it and wanted me to study,” she says. Yet, they did not want Naaz to stay with them either, so they sent her away to an uncle in Mumbai. The hardworking youngster took up a job at a restaurant where she washed utensils and cleaned tables. All was well until a male cousin raped her when she was 11 years old. "The sad part was that I had no idea what rape even meant. I got to know much later. All I remember is that I was brutally injured.” By the time she realised, it was too late to find a legal battle as evidence was lost with time. The government is fighting an uphill battle to reduce abuse against women, but sexual violence against transgenders is all but ignored. One of the grave indiscrepancies is with punishment. While those who abuse women could be jailed for seven years or more, in the case of transgenders it is <a href="https://www.scmp.com/week-asia/society/article/2154077/india-no-country-transgender-women">defined as physical abuse and punishments range from 6 months</a> to two years. Education failed to become the passport to future Naaz had hoped that education will sort her life. At the age of 12, she started working at a dance bar in Mumbai to support her education, when they were still legal.

 She had encountered other trans women who danced at the bar. Despite all these odds, Naaz sponsored her own education and studied fashion designing at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). She later completed her MBA in marketing from IMT Ghaziabad. "Despite working for big labels like Ritu Kumar and Ritu Beri, I found it hard to get a job," she says. She even pursued a diploma to become an air hostess. Even with a stellar resume and being a NIFT topper, she was forced to take up a job at a massage parlour in South Delhi. “As soon as they get to know about my gender, they used to ignore me,” she laments. As many as 89% of <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/left-alone-just-2-of-trans-people-stay-with-parents/articleshow/65380226.cms">qualified transgenders in India do not find employment</a> in India.  Even when they are hired, transgenders face the problem that most women do, a blaring pay gap. And for transgenders, the pay difference is as deep as 191%. In her chosen field however, women make more money. "If companies pay ₹35,000 to a female model for a ramp walk or shoot, then it is likely that a trans woman with experience will get only ₹12,000," she informs. A fresher usually earns ₹5,000 for a shoot and if you are a woman with experience in the fashion industry it can go up to ₹35,000 but a trans women with years of experience still earns merely ₹12000.  The treatment that she receives isn’t great either. "The companies pay us little, they behave like they are doing us a favour by featuring us," she says. Naaz wishes that people would treat her like any other women. The Miss Diversity also doubles as a social activist to raise awareness about HIV among women and children. She plans to visit villages near Delhi on September 6 to create awareness on <keyword id="6362797" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="section-377">Section 377</keyword> and the importance of a socially inclusive society. Her next endeavour is to push for legal marriages for the LGBTQIA+ community.
