Dubai, The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket (<keyword id="6354756" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bcci" source="Orion">BCCI</keyword>) have joined forces to unveil a new campaign ahead of the <keyword id="6974355" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="icc-mens-cricket-world-cup" source="Orion">ICC Men's Cricket World Cup</keyword> in India later this year. The 'It Takes One Day' campaign was launched in Mumbai on Thursday just 77 days out from the first match at this year's World Cup, with the campaign aiming to connect fans across the world to the 'Navarasa' which symbolises the nine emotions fans most commonly experience during a cricket match. A film featuring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan - along with renowned cricketers JP Duminy, Shubman Gill, Dinesh Karthik, current World Cup winning captain Eoin Morgan, <keyword id="26689" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="muttiah-muralitharan" source="Orion">Muttiah Muralitharan</keyword>, <keyword id="86138" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jonty-rhodes" source="Orion">Jonty Rhodes</keyword> and Jemimah Rodrigues - was released in conjunction with the campaign launch and showcases many decorated moments in the history of the Men's Cricket World Cup. The campaign displays the journey of raw emotions experienced by both players and fans collectively over One Day, with the film connecting the nine 'Navarasa' emotions - anguish, bravery, glory, joy, passion, power, pride, respect and wonder - and explores how it takes one day to experience this rollercoaster. ICC CEO Geoff Allardice was thrilled to launch the campaign and is eagerly awaiting the commencement of the World Cup in Ahmedabad on October 5. "This campaign is a true celebration of One Day International cricket and builds a sense of anticipation of what we can expect when the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 returns to India. The emotions, or Navarasa, are felt by fans and players alike during One Day and this campaign brings to life that shared experience," Allardice said in a statement. Dubai, The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced the nominees for the <keyword id="10693146" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="inaugural-icc-player">inaugural ICC Player</keyword> of the <keyword id="10693145" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="month-awards">Month Awards</keyword>, in which India's <keyword id="3142448" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rishabh-Pant">Rishabh Pant</keyword> and England's Joe Root have found a place in the men's category. Pant played two Tests against Australia where he scored a 97 at Sydney to ensure a draw before an unbeaten 89 at Brisbane that led India to a historic Border-Gavaskar series win. Root, on the other hand, played two Tests against Sri Lanka, where he scored a 228 and 186 and led his team to a 2-0 Test series victory. The third nominee in the category, Ireland's Paul Stirling played two ODIs against UAE and three ODIs against Afghanistan, where he scored three centuries. Meanwhile, Diana Baig of Pakistan, South Africa's Shabnim Ismail and her compatriot all-rounder Marizanne Kapp have found a place in the women's category. Baig played three ODIs and two T20Is against South Africa, where she led the wicket-takers with nine wickets in the three-match ODI series against South Africa. Ismail also played three ODIs and two T20Is against Pakistan and took seven wickets in the victorious ODI series against Pakistan, before taking five wickets in the second T20I against the same opposition. Kapp who is the third nominee in the category played two ODIs and two T20Is against Pakistan where she made 115 runs at a strike rate of 110.57 and added three wickets in the ODI series against Pakistan. The ICC on January 27 had announced the introduction of the 'ICC Player of the Month' awards to recognise and celebrate the best performances of both male and female cricketers across all forms of international cricket throughout the year. The three nominees for each of the categories are shortlisted based on on-field performances and overall achievements during the period of that month (the first to the last day of each calendar month).
