<ul><li><keyword id="10591" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="samsung" source="Orion">Samsung</keyword> announced it has partnered the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Startup Hub and Foundation.</li><li>Called 'Samsung Solve for Tomorrow,' the programme invites youth in age group 16-22 to apply with their innovative ideas around education and learning, environment and sustainability.</li><li>The top three teams will win Rs 1.5 crore to turn their ideas into action while others participants who reach top 30 and top 10 will be rewarded at various stages of the programme.</li></ul>New Delhi, Samsung India on Tuesday announced it has partnered the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Startup Hub and Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), IIT Delhi, for the second season of its national education and innovation competition. Called 'Samsung Solve for Tomorrow,' the programme invites youth in age group 16-22 to apply with their innovative ideas around education and learning, environment and sustainability, health and wellness and diversity and inclusion. The top three teams will win Rs 1.5 crore to turn their ideas into action while others participants who reach top 30 and top 10 will be rewarded at various stages of the programme. Participants will receive mentoring and training from Samsung, IIT Delhi and MeitY Startup Hub. "The vision of the government is to promote a vibrant ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country, and youth are at the centre of this. They need all the support and mentoring that can help them turn their ideas into reality, creating a strong social impact along the way," said <keyword id="3248650" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="alkesh-kumar-sharma" source="Orion">Alkesh Kumar Sharma</keyword>, Secretary, MeitY. The first season of the initiative in 2022 received over 18,000 registrations from youth across the country. This year, anyone in India aged 16-22 can apply till 5 pm on May 31. "The entries we got in the first season provided us with a unique snapshot of the concerns and issues on the minds of India's youth. They looked at issues ranging from waste management, electricity and water wastage, plastic waste, speech disorders as well as pandemic prediction and solutions," said <keyword id="16046454" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="jongbum-park" source="Orion">JongBum Park</keyword>, President and CEO, <keyword id="4324485" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="samsung-southwest-asia" source="Orion">Samsung Southwest Asia</keyword>. First launched in the US in 2010, the 'Solve for Tomorrow' programme is currently operational in 63 countries globally and has seen over 2.3 million young people participate worldwide. Samsung, MeitY to skill Indian youth in building real-life innovations

In a bid to further expand its footprint in India, <keyword id="10591" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="samsung" source="Orion">Samsung</keyword> on Wednesday announced key organisational changes in the country to generate more synergies among its various businesses. The South Korean major appointed CH Choi as the new division leader for the Consumer Electronics business, while Jinsock Lee will be the division leader for the Network business. Lee will be based in Mumbai and Jongbum Park will continue to be the division leader for the Mobile business, the company said in a statement. Mohandeep Singh will be the new Head of Sales, Marketing and Operations for the consumer electronics business, while Raju Pullan will be the new Head, Sales and Retail for the Mobile business. Aditya Babbar will lead Product Marketing for the Mobile business. Asim Warsi, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, <keyword id="107877" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="samsung-india" source="Orion">Samsung India</keyword>, will be pursuing a different professional path and in that, he will continue to be engaged with Samsung India, according to the company. Industry sources told IANS that Warsi is poised to take up an advisory role in the company. The changes, said Samsung, will deliver an enriching and meaningful experience for consumers, as the company further expands its footprint in India and takes new strides in innovations driven by future technologies. "Three new teams are being created to improve operational synergies and consumer experiences," said the company. Dipesh Shah, Managing Director of Samsung R&amp;D Institute Bangalore, will also head a newly-created India Customer Experience (ICX) and Business Strategy team to create multiple device experience for the Indian consumers. The new Direct-To-Customer team will be headed by Sumit Walia, who will also lead the Corporate Marketing team. A new Enterprise Business team will be headed by Akash Saxenaa. The company said that these changes will help itto continue to serve its consumers and partners in India.
