The launch of this new feature on OnePlus TV's Oxygen Play further aims to enhance the overall user experience provided by the company on both OnePlus TV 55 Q1 and OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro, the company said in a statement. "With this feature new and existing OnePlus TV users will now be able to directly view popular movies and series exclusively from Amazon Prime Video Library through an integrated channel on Oxygen Play," said OnePlus. As an add-on benefit, OnePlus users can easily access a variety of carefully curated content from Prime Video's extensive library without having to scroll through at length. The music streaming giant had a rough start entering an already competitive market and delays due to its dispute with <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/spotify-india-launch-delayed-by-warner-music/articleshow/68165261.cms">Warner Music Group</a>. In its eleventh month, Spotify became a part of <a href="https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/system-update-for-oneplus-tv-q1-and-q1-pro-v1-10-0t2001090305.1180192/">OnePlus TV</a>'s integration and <a href="https://newsroom.spotify.com/2020-02-18/3-ways-weve-changed-the-podcast-show-page-to-help-you-find-new-shows-youll-love-faster/">relaunched</a> its Podcast page with a new look. However, the company has shied away from revealing any India-specific numbers other than two million monthly average users (MAUs) at the end of Q1 2019, shortly after the app's debut in the country. Local music takes a back seat Despite Spotify's impetus on localising its app for India, it's only users between 35 to 44 years of age that listen to mostly to local music — otherwise, international pop takes the cake. Not only is it popular with their target audience, GenZ and millennials, but Senorita by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello was the most streamed track among users older than 55 years. However, the age barrier is not uniform across India. In Goa, across all age groups, Spotify users only listen to international music — some in English, some in Korean. The K-Pop genre is also popular in clusters, especially in the northeast states — except from Assam where users mostly listen to Punjabi music. That being said, local music seems to have found its foothold in Gujarat where Spotify claims that users aged 25 to 55 years old only consume Bollywood Hindi music. Local tracks are also popular with male listeners in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, and Telangana. The road ahead Since its launch, Spotify has been streaming in over 2,300 cities across India with over 6,400 local artists represented on the platform. However, Kantar and VTION's <a href="https://musically.com/2020/02/25/independent-report-pegs-gaana-as-top-indian-music-service/">OTT Audience Measurement Insights</a> report published in January estimates that Spotify still has a lot of catching up to do. It claims that Gaana is leading with 30% market share followed by JioSaavn, which has 24% of the market. Spotify lags behind at par with Wynk at 17% each. It should be noted that the study leaves out YouTube Music — a music-streaming juggernaut in India that would likely reduce Spotify's market share even further. It is only natural that he brings this content viewership also home, into his own apps to create more value. But that dream is a bit far off. <keyword id="128682" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Netflix">Netflix</keyword>, Amazon &amp; Hotstar Jio has made few strides in the OTT space, after it acquired music app Saavn in 2018, and also saying that it would invest $100 million in it. The merged entity now has since been rebranded as JioSaavn, which claims to have 50 million songs in its kitty. Jio also has its own content platform, Jio Cinema which has movies along with TV series and clips. In spite of showcasing old TV series, movies and even new-age web series produced by AltBalaji, it is miles away in popularity from the reigning trio—Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hotstar. In addition, international content providers or OTT platforms are also going the extra mile to produce original India content, making it tougher for a newer Indian player to hold attention. These international players are putting money and star power behind their original content. According to Amazon India, the virtual assistant spends 15 hours a day, on average across all devices, singing songs in her own voice — not through music apps. “What can be more natural to a customer to interact with technology than voice,” Dilip RS, the country manager of Alexa Skills at Amazon, told Business Insider India. Of those 15 hours, at least one hour a day is spent singing ‘Happy Birthday’ for Indian users. While Amazon has not specified how many Alexa-enabled devices have been sold in India, they claim that the total number of devices sold, if stacked one on top of the other, would be over four times taller than Mount Everest. One of the determining factors is that Alexa isn’t just available through Echo devices but through TV, mobile phones, the FireTV stick,and third-party speakers like Bose and BoAt. “It’s not just about the echo set of devices. We work with a lot of third-party devices to make sure that Echo is available everywhere,” Dilip explains. Even skills on Alexa, like singing songs, have grown by from 10,000 to 20,000 skills in the one year that the virtual assistant has been in India. Indian users discover Alexa's singing talent — make her sing 15 hours a day

In comparison, Airtel’s plans are definitely pricier but their data limits are higher — which means heavy users can browse more at higher speeds without worrying about fair usage policies or FUPs. FUPs basically are limits for data downloads, crossing which speeds of the said plans will fall drastically. This is true even with unlimited plans, where operators believe that users tend to leave devices open and unattended when a plan is offered without limits. Higher speeds but less data Jio’s bronze, silver and gold subscription plans come bundled with free voice calls, free TV calling and conferencing services. These plans also include a free subscription to the Jio Console — Jio’s multiplayer game streaming service that’s making its debut with the promise of zero latency. The welcome offer — valid for a limited period of time and subject to annual subscription only — is only offering a free three-month subscription to JioCinema and JioSaavn for the bronze plan users. Even the silver plan is limited to a three month subscription but will include other streaming platforms, yet to be disclosed.
