Apart from this, subscribers who recharge with the ₹79 pack will get double benefits. This means subscribers will now get 400MB of data and ₹256 worth talktime. Validity will likely remain at 28 days. <ul><li><keyword id="6354504" type="DEFINITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-jio">Reliance Jio</keyword>’s subscriber mix is holding back the amount of money it makes from each user.</li><li>Despite India facing the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic in the previous quarter, Reliance Jio has reported over 44% profit growth.</li><li>During the June quarter, Jio added 42.3 million new subscribers, continuing its upward trajectory from the March quarter.</li><li>However, its average revenue per user (ARPU) remains an area of concern – it stood at ₹138.4, which is flat when compared to the previous quarter, and marginally down, year-on-year.</li></ul>India’s leading telecom operator Reliance Jio posted a nearly 45% growth in its profit despite India bearing the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic between April and June this year. Conglomerate <keyword id="10926" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance" source="Orion">Reliance</keyword> Industries Ltd (RIL) on Friday reported a rise of 46 per cent growth in its year-on-year consolidated net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2021. The net profit, on a YoY basis, rose to ₹15,479 crore. In a regulatory filing, the company reported that its consolidated gross revenue for the quarter rose to ₹191,532 crore, higher by 49.2 per cent. Besides, the consolidated EBITDA for the quarter rose by 30 per cent to ₹3 0,283 crore. On a standalone basis, net profit for the quarter was higher by 44.1 per cent year-on-year to ₹9,228 crore. Furthermore, the gross revenue on a standalone basis for the quarter rose by 68.8 per cent to ₹108,750 crore. "As the pandemic retreats, I am pleased that Reliance has posted a strong performance in 2Q FY22. This demonstrates the inherent strengths of our businesses and the robust recovery of the Indian and global economies," Reliance Industries Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh D. Ambani said. "All our businesses reflect growth over pre-Covid levels. Low mortgage rates, stable property prices and robust hiring outlook for IT/ITeS [IT-enabled services] and financial services, especially in south India and continued work-from-home is expected to support residential housing demand,” said a report by ICICI Securities, dated September 4. The report says DLF, Oberoi Realty, Brigade Enterprises, Sunteck Realty and Mahindra Lifespaces are some preferred stocks by the broking firm in the realty segment. The report shows that the home loan rates offered by most large lenders range in the 7-7.5% range for 20-year housing loans and is the lowest ever since 2005. The Indian real estate performance has been affected for many years owing to demonetisation, real estate regulatory authority (RERA)/goods and services tax (GST) implementation, NBFC funding crisis and the first and second waves of the COVID-19 pandemic in India. “However, heading into FY22 and beyond, we believe that the sector is set for an upcycle,” said analysts at ICICI Securities. RERA came into action in 2017 to ensure transparency in the real estate segment thereby tightening rules, which made it difficult for developers to launch new projects without approvals. And in the last few years, non-banking financial companies have seen a <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/all-you-want-to-know-about-the-nbfc-crisis-3966551.html">liquidity crisis led by IL&amp;FS group. </a> Gagan Banga, managing director of Indiabulls Housing Finance, in an interview with CNBC-TV18 said that they are seeing strong demand in home loans. “Mid-income group is showing a lot of demand, the best in 15 years,” he said. “The Indian real estate sector is at a crossroads. After a gap of almost eight years, demand seems to be picking up in the residential segment aided by improved affordability, COVID-19 induced factors and government measures to boost housing absorption,” said a report by Edelweiss Securities. Further, analysts feel the residential market will do well in the near future. Listed players have gained market share with new launches in the last 2-3 years and they expect it to continue. Yash Gupta, equity research analyst at Angel Broking, says he expects the residential market to do well in the near future. Also, expect new hiring by [the] IT industry to increase residential demand in Bangalore, Pune and Chennai. “We have seen a strong consolidation in the top 10 cities in India towards organised players post Demon [demonetisation], RERA, IL&amp;FS crisis. Listed players have gained market share in new launches in the last 2-3 years, we expect this to continue,” he said. New Delhi, Jun 17 () Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio is likely to capture 48 per cent of Indian mobile subscriber marketshare by 2025 with over half a billion users, Bernstein said in a report on Wednesday. "At our last model update in December, we proclaimed Reliance Jio the new king of Indian telecommunications. Since then, we have seen a multitude of international investors reach the same conclusion," the analyst said in the report. Facebook kicked-off the party, investing Rs 43,573.62 crore to secure 9.99 per cent stake. This was closely followed by a further Rs 60,753.33 crore in investment spread across eight different private equity investors. All together Reliance Industries has monetised 22.38 per cent of Jio Platforms and raised Rs 1.04 lakh crore in the process. "While we expect strategic cooperation between Facebook and other parts of the Reliance Group, we believe most of the other investments are passive. Reliance gets access to much needed capital to assist in paying down debt, and these investors get early access to the leading telco platform in India," it said. Bernstein expects an initial public offer (IPO) of Jio sometime over the next few years as its market share approaches 50 per cent. "By then ARPUs (average revenue per user) will have improved and we expect service revenue will double over the next three years." It projected Jio's mobile subscriber base to cross 500 million mark in FY23, up from 388 million in FY20. The subscriber base is expected to touch 569 million in FY25 and 609 million in FY28. Jio's market share is expected to rise from 36 per cent in FY20 to 40 per cent in the current fiscal and to 48 per cent in FY25, it said. "Based on our updated model, we see potential upside of 30 per cent by FY25 at fair value. Returns will likely be higher as retail investors clamour to get a slice of what will be the undisputed scale player in Indian telecoms," it said. With all the positive news regarding investments in Jio Platforms one expects to become more optimistic regarding the value of the company. "Instead we have become slightly more pessimistic about the near-term and have taken down our numbers," Bernstein said. The key reasons, it said, was COVID-19 and the resulting shutdown that has likely reduced the rate of gross additions to the platform and call an data price increases in December have a more muted effect on Jio's ARPU than rival Bharti Airtel's. Jio ARPU rose from Rs 128 in October-December 2019 quarter to Rs 131 in January-March 2020. In comparison, Airtel's ARPU rose from Rs 135 to Rs 154, it said. "We think lower value JioPhone users having already increased their telco spend (to increase their data allowance) may have found further increases harder to absorb," it said, adding that post these changes, it forecasts Jio to reach 48 per cent subscriber market share and 44 per cent revenue market share by 2025."
