It also said that it already has half a million customers who have signed up for their trials. As promised by the company chairman Mukesh Ambani at the annual general meeting (AGM) last month, the ultra high speed plans started at ₹699 and offer a lot of freebies. Freebies for Bronze, Silver and Gold plans Along with the three monthly plans of ₹699, ₹899 and ₹1,299, the plans offer unlimited data downloads, with a fair usage policy as mentioned in the next section. These plans come bundled with free voice calls, free TV calling and conferencing service, and zero latency gaming — Jio Console. They will also allow for content sharing at home and outside the home. The plans have also bundled Norton antivirus package for five devices. Freebies for Diamond, Platinum and Titanium plans Along with all the freebies mentioned above, the Diamond, Platinum and Titanium plan holders will receive platform access to a virtual reality platform which provides theatre-like experience, claims Jio. However, users will have to purchase a VR headset separately in order to use the feature. In comparison, Airtel’s plans are definitely pricier but their data limits are higher — which means heavy users can browse more at higher speeds without worrying about fair usage policies or FUPs. FUPs basically are limits for data downloads, crossing which speeds of the said plans will fall drastically. This is true even with unlimited plans, where operators believe that users tend to leave devices open and unattended when a plan is offered without limits. Higher speeds but less data Jio’s bronze, silver and gold subscription plans come bundled with free voice calls, free TV calling and conferencing services. These plans also include a free subscription to the Jio Console — Jio’s multiplayer game streaming service that’s making its debut with the promise of zero latency. New Delhi, June 12 (IANS) Amazon on Friday announced its collaboration with Jio to provide JioFiber subscribers access to content on Amazon Prime Video app over its set-top box. JioFiber customers can now access the Amazon Prime Video app on their TV and enjoy Amazon's latest and exclusive Hollywood, Bollywood and Indian regional movies, top TV shows, stand-up comedies, kids programmes, including critically acclaimed Indian and global Amazon Originals, the company said in a statement. "With this launch, we will further extend the reach and access of Amazon Prime Video in India, giving more customers the experience of watching our broad selection of popular Amazon Originals, blockbuster movies, Indian as well as international shows, on their TV sets," said Gaurav Gandhi, Director and Country General Manager, Amazon Prime Video India. Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has written to the <keyword id="30356" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="telecom-regulatory-authority-of-india" source="Orion">Telecom Regulatory Authority of India</keyword> (TRAI) stating that the complaint is a deliberate malicious attempt by Bharti <keyword id="15491" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="airtel" source="Orion">Airtel</keyword> Limited (Airtel) to defame RJILs consumer-friendly tariffs in order to protect its narrow interests. Bharti Airtel had filed a complaint on alleged predatory offers of Live TV channels with broadband plans by RJIL. RJIL said a close reading of the complaint letter would clearly establish that Airtel's sole grouse is that JioFiber is offering reasonable tariffs to customers. "Evidently, all its unsubstantiated claims of predation, non-level playing field, and non-compliance with TTOs and NTO are just woven around this singular theme and this complaint should be dismissed simply on the ground of being a frivolous attempt to protect its own interests. Further, Airtel should be warned against making such frivolous complaints in future," RJIL said.
