With this, the company is aiming to increase its average revenue per user (ARPU), a key metric that will make its shares more attractive to investors. As per analysts, Reliance Industries is expected to make an announcement regarding the <keyword id="6059106" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jio-ipo" source="Orion">Jio IPO</keyword> at its upcoming annual general meeting (AGM) in August. "Rising focus on monetisation could be a precursor to its imminent listing,” according to brokerage firm Jefferies. <h2>Jio IPO will be India’s biggest stock market debut</h2>If Reliance Jio makes its stock market debut, it will emerge as the biggest stock market listing in India. Existing rules state that companies that are valued at ₹1 lakh crore or more need to sell at least 5% during an IPO. Jio is currently valued at $133 billion (₹11.11 lakh crore as per Jefferies. A 5% stake sale would put the IPO at around ₹55,000 crore, beating LIC’s ₹21,000 crore IPO. JioBharat captures 50% market share in sub-Rs 1,000 segment: Reliance annual report

According to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), the growth in sales was recorded due to online festival sales which began early this year. “The e-tail sales, which typically start around the second week of October, began in late September, leading to a surge in PC shipments,” said Bharath Shenoy, Research Manager, IDC India &amp; South Asia. In Q3 2024, desktops recorded an 8.1% year-on-year decline, notebooks recorded a 2.8% year-on-year growth and workstations recorded a 2.4% year-on-year growth. Premium notebooks priced above $1,000 recorded a 7.6% year-on-year growth. “Brands capitalized on e-tail sales by offering steep discounts, cashback, and bundled accessories. Many of them also matched similar pricing in their brand stores and offline channels like Larger Format Retail stores (LFRs), leading to the second biggest consumer quarter in history,” Shenoy added. Acer has recorded good growth, with its market share rising from 11.6% in Q3 2023 to 14.6% in Q3 2024. Asus on the other hand reported a decline from 12.5% in Q3 2023 to 9.7% in Q3 2024. “The Commercial PC Market in India is on the recovery path as enterprises have slowly started refreshing their IT devices. With the listing of <keyword id="15323576" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="jio-financial-services" source="Orion">Jio Financial Services</keyword>, the obvious question is the impact that this entity will have on other listed financial services players because it will take them head on. The obvious assumption is that companies that currently are in the consumer and MSME lending space will be directly impacted. Jio Fin’s rich parentage and high capital base will be its biggest advantage. The net worth of the newborn is higher than its nearest competitor and this will enable it to build a large loan book much faster. But this may not be enough to win in the marketplace as it is a total novice when it comes to underwriting and execution. The market will closely monitor Jio Fin’s aggression in the consumer finance business before downgrading its competitors. For now, the jury is out. Like all other businesses that Reliance has set foot in, even in financial services the market is expecting two things – scale and mega disruption. The first segment that Jio is set to rock first is the lending space. Jio Financial Services ahead of its listing on 18 August released some details on the structure of the company and businesses it would operate in. Jio Financial Services is not just a systemically important non-banking financial institution but also a core investment company (CIC). The RBI has mandated the conversion of Jio Fin into a CIC and NBFC over the next three months. What this essentially means is that all the other businesses will operate under this holding company as subsidiaries. In time, all the subsidiaries could also be listed. The key businesses that Jio Financial Services will be present include: Reliance Retail Finance, Reliance Retail Insurance Broking, Reliance Payment Solutions, Jio Payments Bank, the Asset Management Company will be a joint venture with Blackrock. Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings will be the sole beneficiary of the 6.1% stake in Reliance Industries. Jio Information Aggregator Services will pursue the account aggregator business, which is yet to commence. Jio Infrastructure Management Services will offer project management services. The first segment that Jio Fin seeks to aggressively pursue is retail lending. The dominant player in this segment is Bajaj Finance, which offers small ticket loans to consumers to buy consumer durables. This business has been mastered by Bajaj Finance over the last decade and a half by tying up with stores like Vijay Sales and Croma. This is where Jio will strike first. The company said that ARPU increased sequentially due to better subscriber mix. Reliance Jio’s net profit up 3.2% sequentially at ₹4881 crore in Q3 on better subscriber mix

The telco has been struggling to retain subscribers while its rivals <keyword id="6354504" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="reliance-jio" source="Orion">Reliance Jio</keyword> and Bharti Airtel have seen both their subscriber numbers as well as the average revenue per user (ARPU) climb up each quarter since FY22. In the company’s post-result investor call in Q2, Vodafone Idea’s chief executive officer Akshaya Moondra had said, ‘’We are trying to close the funding quickly so that some of the backlog of vendor payments that we have can be addressed.” Vodafone Idea needs funds not just to fund its capital expenditure requirements, but also to service its debt. According to a Motilal Oswal report, its current earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of ₹8,700 crore in FY23 is inadequate to service debt. Capex is another piece of puzzle that the telco needs to solve. Vodafone Idea is yet to roll out its 5G offerings even as Jio and Airtel 5G services have been available in several parts of the country since October 2022. “The much-awaited capital raise remains critical to provide immediate liquidity and invest in the rollout of 5G and extending 4G infrastructure. Vodafone Idea acquired 5G spectrum in the 3300Mhz and 26GHz bands in the recent auction (September 2022) but unlike Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, it has not deployed the spectrum and remains significantly behind in 4G network rollout too,” said the Motilal Oswal report.
