Jio's new ₹599 ‘all-in-one’ subscriptions offer the biggest bang for your buck

New Delhi, Apr 17 () Reliance Jio on Friday said that most of the mobile recharge outlets will be available from April 20 onward, and customers who have not been able to recharge their account during the lockdown will continue to get incoming calls on their phones.The company on March 31 had announced that users will continue to receive incoming call even after expiry of the prepaid account during the difficult situation developed due to spread of coronavirus infection."Majority recharge outlets will be available starting 20th April," Jio said, adding that customers can do recharge through online payment platforms, bank ATMs and also through associate programmes.The company has come up with JioPos Lite app which its customers can download and recharge account of other subscribers on the network. The customer who recharges the account of others will get commission of around 4 per cent.Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel have also come up with similar cash back or commission-based recharge service through app.These two firms have announced extension of prepaid validity till May 3 for customers who have not been able to recharge their accounts.Around 9 crore customers of Vodafone Idea and 3 crore of Bharti Airtel will continue getting free incoming calls till then.The government announced nationwide lockdown starting March 24 till April 14. It has been further extended till May 3.State-owned telecom operators BSNL and MTNL extended the validity period of their prepaid mobile services till April 20 and offer Rs 10 additional talktime even after zero balance.Telecom body COAI pegged the value of benefits announced by telcos for low-income users at over Rs 600 crore and said the government should support further extension of benefits through universal service obligation fund where more than Rs 51,500 crore has been lying unused. Most recharge outlets to be available from Apr 20, incoming calls to continue: Jio

Jio has come up with special initiatives for the pandemic period including free 300 minutes of outgoing calls per month for the entire period of the pandemic, to <keyword id="4792220" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="JioPhone">JioPhone</keyword> users who have not been able to recharge due to the ongoing pandemic. "We at Jio want to ensure that staying connected remains accessible and affordable for all customers, especially the less-privileged sections of our society," said a company statement. "Jio working with <keyword id="10926" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance">Reliance</keyword> Foundation will provide 300 free minutes of outgoing calls per month (10 minutes per day) for the entire period of the pandemic, to JioPhone users who have not been able to recharge due to the ongoing pandemic," it said. Further, to further enhance affordability, for every JioPhone plan recharged by JioPhone user, they will get an additional recharge plan of the same value for free. Elaborating the offering, the statement said that a JioPhone user recharging with Rs 75 plan, will get an additional Rs 75 plan absolutely free. "Reliance is committed to standing with every Indian during these challenging times, and will continue to make every effort to enable our fellow citizens to overcome the difficulties created by the pandemic," it added. The statement, however, clarified that the offer is not applicable on annual or JioPhone device bundled plans. Reliance Jio is offering a ₹75 top-up for JioPhone users on the next recharge ⁠— conditions apply

New Delhi, Apr 17 () Reliance Jio has introduced a new system to enable its subscribers to recharge the account of any customer on its network through a mobile app and also earn around 4 per cent commission. The development comes at a time when many people are unable to recharge their phones due to the lockdown. Telecom regulator Trai has been pushing service providers to extend the validity of all prepaid connections during the period. Reliance Jio has launched the JioPOS Lite app on Google Play store, from where a customer can download it and start recharging the phone of any subscriber on its network. "There is a joining fee of Rs 1,000 but the company has waived it off as an introductory offer. Jio customers downloading this app will have to load a minimum of Rs 1,000 for the first time and thereafter they can load recharge for sale for a minimum value of Rs 200," a source told . The app has recorded over 5 lakh downloads till date. The source said this will give Jio customers a comfortable option to get their phones recharged even if shops are not opened during the lockdown period. The government has extended the lockdown period till May 3 to check the spread of the coronavirus. Private telecom operators had earlier extended the validity of prepaid accounts till April 17 to support people at the bottom of the pyramid stay connected during the lockdown. Vodafone Idea had announced extension of validity on prepaid plans availed by low-income customers using feature phones till April 17 and Rs 10 talktime credit. Bharti Airtel too had offered extension in the validity period of over 8 crore pre-paid connections until April 17 as well as credited Rs 10 talktime in these accounts. Reliance Jio had also offered its JioPhone users 100 minutes of free talktime and 100 free SMSes till April 17, while their incoming calls would continue even after the validity of their pre-paid vouchers. How to earn money from Reliance Jio's new app JioPOS Lite

Reliance is expected to formally launch Jio in the coming months, and the launch has already created quite some buzz in the market, perturbed by which India’s leading telecom company Bharti <keyword id="15491" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Airtel">Airtel</keyword> has slashed its 4G and 3G mobile internet charges by up to 80%.

To avail the benefits of this special scheme, on recharging their numbers with Rs 1498, Airtel customers will get 1GB of 4G or 3G mobile internet usage valid for 28 days; after consuming the data limit, they can get 1GB 4G or 3G recharges for just Rs 51 over the next year, during which there would be no limit on the number of recharges.

In the past few months, there have been a lot of changes in Airtel’s offerings to its customers, starting from up to 67% more data in existing 4G and 3G schemes, followed by free voice calling in roaming under a new plan for Rs 1,199.
