India's largest telecom operator <keyword id="19896911" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Jio" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Reliance Jio" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Reliance Jio">Reliance Jio</keyword> on Monday posted a 13 per cent year-on-year rise in its standalone net profit at Rs 5,337 crore in March quarter. Its revenue from operations for Q4FY24 came in at Rs 25,959 crore, up 11 per cent over the year-ago period. The net profit was pegged at Rs 5,337 crore for just-ended quarter, up from Rs 4,716 crore in the fourth quarter of FY23, which translated into a 13.16 per cent increase. According to a BSE filing by the company, for the full FY24, the net profit stood at Rs 20,466 crore, which was 12.4 per cent higher than that of FY23. The revenue for full fiscal ended March 2024 was Rs 1,00,119 crore, up 10.2 per cent over the preceding fiscal. Reliance Jio Q4 net profit rises over 13% to ₹5,337 crore

<ul><li><keyword id="6354504" type="DEFINITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-jio">Reliance Jio</keyword>’s growth in subscribers has slowed down this quarter.</li><li>It only added 29 million users in Q2 FY20 in comparison to adding 37 million during the same quarter last year.</li><li>Jio’s ARPU also hit ₹120, dropping for the seventh consecutive quarter. </li></ul>Reliance Industries released its earnings for the current quarter and its digital business, Reliance Jio, seems to be slowing down. Jio’s subscriber base only added 29 million in Q2 FY20. In comparison, Jio added 37 subscribers in the same quarter last year. However, the company is making more money out of its subscribers — the margin for Jio improved by as much as 170 basis points to over 11%. This would be heartening for the investors in RIL. And, even though growth is slowing down, the number subscribers has still grown 7.2% over the last quarter. A report published earlier today by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) found that Jio was the only telecom operator to add subscribers during the month of August. "It's also a matter of great pride for us to share the fact that Jio is now the second largest single county operator in the world with a subscriber base of 355 billion," said Reliance Industries CFO, Alok Agarwal, during the earnings call.  And, Jio’s average revenue per user continues to decline for the seventh consecutive quarter hitting ₹120. Usage continues to growth with the company recording 12 billion GB in data traffic and 813 billion minutes of voice traffic. Reliance Jio added fewer subscribers in Q2 but made more money out of them 

(Eds: Adding details) New Delhi, Apr 30 () Reliance Jio on Thursday posted 177.5 per cent year-on-year rise in net profit to Rs 2,331 crore for the three months ended March 31, fuelled by rising subscriber base and recent tariff hike.The net profit of Jio stood at Rs 840 crore in the year-ago period.Seen sequentially, the net profit grew 72.7 per cent when compared to Rs 1,350 crore in December quarter (Q3FY20).Jio's standalone revenue from operations for the fourth quarter stood at Rs 14,835 crore, which translates into year-on-year growth of 26.6 per cent.Commenting on the Q4 results, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, Reliance Industries Limited said, "Jio is embarking on the next leg of growth with a path-defining partnership with one of the world's largest digital companies, Facebook"."We are together determined to make India a truly digital society with best-in-class connectivity network complemented with disruptive digital technology platforms for entertainment, commerce, communication, finance, education and health harnessing world's best tech capabilities. Our focus will be India's 60 million micro, small and medium businesses, 120 million farmers, 30 million small merchants and millions of small and medium enterprises in the informal sector," he said.The standalone net profit stood at Rs 2,331 crore, the company in a statement said, adding that there was exceptional item (income) during the quarter of Rs 31 crore related to reversal of provisions on AGR dues.Average Revenue Per User (or earning per subscriber) was sequentially higher at Rs 130.6 per month, the company said, adding that further impact of December 2019 tariff hike will flow through in coming months.Jio's net profit increased to Rs 5,562 crore for the full year FY20 from Rs 2,964 crore in the previous fiscal, an annual increase of 88 per cent, the statement said.The revenue from operation stood at Rs 54,316 crore for FY20, up from Rs 40,663 crore in FY19.Subscriber base as on March 31, 2020 was at 387.5 million with net addition of 17.5 million during 4QFY20, it said.Jio Platforms will launch a nationwide video platform called 'JioMeet', the company said.
