What this dictatorship is doing is wrong," he said.</li></ul><p>Comedian and "Saturday Night Live" alum Jim Breuer said he will not perform at any live venues that require proof of COVID-19 vaccination and described the public <keyword id="11894571" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="health" source="Orion">health</keyword> measure as "segregation" in a Facebook Live stream over the weekend. </p><p>"Two quick updates on shows that you may think you may be getting tickets to or you already have tickets to The Wellmont Theater in New Jersey - not doing it," Breuer said. "Also, the Royal Oak Theater in Michigan, due to the segregation of them forcing people to show up with vaccinations ... I am also not doing those shows." </p><p>Breuer, 54, continued to say that he was sacrificing "a lot of money" and would rather "go bankrupt" by making a stand rather than be "enslaved by the system, or by money, and nor should anyone that wants to laugh or be entertained." </p><p>"What these establishments are doing is wrong. What this dictatorship is doing is wrong," he said. It is unclear what dictatorship Breuer is referring to. Nonetheless, many public venues across the United States have announced new policies that require both <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/biden-to-unveil-strict-vaccination-requirement-for-federal-workers-2021-9">performers and patrons to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19</a> as the delta variant <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cdc-fully-vaccinated-new-guidelines-wear-masks-indoors-delta-2021-7">causes a surge in COVID-19 cases across the country</a>. </p><p>Earlier this month, a new study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that the majority of recent coronavirus-related hospitalizations and deaths <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/unvaccinated-people-much-more-likely-to-die-cdc-data-2021-9">have been among unvaccinated individuals</a>. The study reported that unvaccinated Americans were 11 times more likely to die from COVID-19. However, he said that being vaccinated should be a "choice" and he would not be listening to differing opinions. </p><p>"No matter what your feelings are in it - I don't care if you're vaccinated. That's great. It's a choice," Breuer said. "If you have anything else to say, I honestly don't care. So don't leave comments going, 'Oh this is a good thing.' I highly disagree with you and I will always disagree with you."</p><p>Vaccination hesitancy amongst live performers and celebrities has increasingly appeared in the news over the last few weeks. Earlier this week, rapper Nicki Minaj said <a href="https://www.insider.com/nicki-minaj-isnt-attending-met-gala-because-shes-unvaccinated-2021-9">she would not be getting vaccinated for the 2021 Met Gala</a> as the event requires.</p><p>"They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. If I get vaccinated it won't for the Met. It'll be once I feel I've done enough research," Minaj said in a tweet Monday afternoon. </p><p>All three of the vaccines authorized in the US have been <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/vaccines-are-remarkably-safe-finds-20-year-study-2020-7?r=US&amp;IR=T?utm_source=yahoo.com&amp;utm_medium=referralreferral">proven safe and effective</a>. Earlier this month, Insider's Erin Snodgrass reported that a new study estimated around <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/us-vaccine-rollout-saved-nearly-300000-lives-report-says-2021-7?r=US&amp;IR=T?utm_source=yahoo.com&amp;utm_medium=referralreferral">300,000 lives have been saved and 1.25 million hospitalizations prevented</a> due to America's vaccine program.</p>

Comedian and 'SNL' alum Jim Breuer cancels performances at venues that require COVID-19 vaccination, calls it 'segregation'

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Maddie Meyer/Getty</span></p></div><p></p></div></div>While the Deflategate battle over Tom Brady's suspension continues on in courts, not much attention has been paid to John Jastremski, the equipment assistant who was at the center of the initial controversy.</p><p>While <span>Jastremski was reportedly reinstated by the Patriots when Brady's suspension was overturned last fall, a new story is raising questions about </span>Jastremski's employment status.</p><p>The bizarre story comes from Jim Breuer who had a chance run-in with <span>Jastremski. During that encounter, Jastremski told the comedian that he had been fired. If true, it raises questions about whether the Patriots truly believe Jastremski is blameless in this entire mess.</span></p><p><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/patriots-deflated-ball-texts-2015-5">Jastresmki was allegedly involved in the plot to deflate footballs</a> prior to the Patriots' 2014 AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. Once Brady's suspension was overturned last season, the Patriots reinstated Jastremski and locker room attendant Jim McNally, who referred to himself as the "deflator" in texts with Jastremski. Since then, not much else was heard of either, until now.</p><p><a href="http://www.si.com/nfl/video/2016/05/23/jim-breuer-deflategate-most-wanted">Breuer told a story on Sports Illustrated</a> about the run-in with Jastremski at a gym in Mexico while he was preparing for a comedy festival in November. (Breuer initially said the festival was in January, then corrected it to November during <a href="http://boston.cbslocal.com/2016/05/26/jim-breuer-discusses-john-jastremski-encounter-learns-how-to-use-google-on-toucher-rich/">an appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub</a>). Breuer said he was approached by Jastremski while a story about Deflategate was on the television. When Breuer said he didn't much care about the story, Jastremski revealed who he was and how he was tied to the controversy.</p><p>Breuer said on SI, "He was there with his wife. They were actually trying to get away because they're being so harassed in the Massachusetts area. His family is being harassed, and he wants to move."</p><p>Breuer said Jastremski refused to say anything negative about Tom Brady, but was furious with the Patriots organization for not allowing him to speak out on the issue.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Ethan Miller/Getty</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Later, on his appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub, Breuer said Jastremski and his wife wanted to move because they were <em>fired</em> by the Patriots and were receiving death threats from fans.</p><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"They were talking about moving because the Pats fans were sending vicious death threats to their home and their families. And they were distraught, and they said this was their life. They have to change their whole life. And he was worried that he's never going to get a job again - he can't get a job.</p><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"He said they were getting death threats, the Patriots fired him, said they were going to take care of him. I remember he said he was waiting for them to get back to him soon, but every time they say that, they don't do anything about it. He's jobless."</p><p>While on the show, Breuer also pulled up an email from Jastremski, dated November 10, for proof of the interaction.</p><p><a href="http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/patriots/2016/05/28/more-odd-twists-and-turns-deflategate/D24nwf2T0SUhgywYbJScsL/story.html">As Ben Volin of the Boston Globe notes</a>, if Breuer's story is accurate, it calls into question whether the Patriots quietly fired Jastremski.
