Playing video games has been found to neither harm nor benefit the cognitive abilities of children and young adults, according to a new research. Parents may rethink family's video-gaming rules as the research challenges the fears that children who spend hours playing video would manifest unhealthy results in their cognitive ability, it said. "Our studies turned up no such links, regardless of how long the children played and what types of games they chose," said <keyword id="16412849" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="jie-zhang" source="Orion">Jie Zhang</keyword>, associate professor at the <keyword id="134011" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="university-of-houston" source="Orion">University of Houston</keyword>, US, and a member of the research team. According to the study, researchers examined the video gaming habits of 160 diverse urban public-school preteen students. Participating students reported playing video games an average of 2.5 hours daily, with the group's heaviest gamers putting in as much as 4.5 hours each day, the study said. The team of researchers looked for association between the students' video game play and their performance on the standardized Cognitive Ability Test 7, known as CogAT, which evaluates verbal, quantitative and nonverbal/spatial skills, the study said. CogAT was chosen as a standard measure, in contrast to the teacher-reported grades or self-reported learning assessments that previous research projects have relied on, the study said. "Overall, neither duration of play nor choice of video game genres had significant correlations with the CogAT measures. That result shows no direct linkage between video game playing and cognitive performance, despite what had been assumed," said <keyword id="16412848" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="may-jadalla" source="Orion">May Jadalla</keyword>, professor at <keyword id="282500" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="illinois-state-university" source="Orion">Illinois State University</keyword>, US, and the study's principal investigator. However, the study also revealed another side of the issue, too. Certain types of games described as helping children build healthy cognitive skills also presented no measurable effects, in spite of the games' marketing messages, it said. "The current study found results that are consistent with previous research showing that types of gameplay that seem to augment cognitive functions in young adults don't have the same impact in much younger children," said C. Shawn Green, professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, US. Does this mean the world can play on? Maybe, the research suggests. But the experts also caution that gaming time took the heaviest players' away from other, more productive activities - homework, to be specific - in a process psychologists call displacement, the study said. But even in those cases, the differences were slight between those participants and their peers' CogAT measures of cognitive abilities, the study said. "The study results show parents probably don't have to worry so much about cognitive setbacks among video game-loving children, up to fifth grade. "Reasonable amounts of video gaming should be OK, which will be delightful news for the kids. Just keep an eye out for obsessive behaviour," said <keyword id="16963" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="zhang" source="Orion">Zhang</keyword>. "When it comes to video games, finding common ground between parents and young kids is tricky enough. Video games don't harm cognitive abilities but don't benefit either says US based study

A top <keyword id="12163" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ED" source="Orion">ED</keyword> source told that the agency has arrested four accused who have been identified as Guangwen Kyang aka Andrew Kuang, the Chinese National; Hari Om Rai, the MD of Lava International; Rajan Malik, and Nitin Garg, the Chartered Accountant (CA). The ED action comes almost more than a year after it carried out searches at 48 locations across the country belonging to <keyword id="3180567" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vivo-mobiles" source="Orion">vivo Mobiles</keyword> India Private Limited and its 23 associated companies such as Grand Prospect International Communication Pvt Ltd (GPICPL). According to the ED, vivo Mobiles India Pvt Ltd was incorporated on August 1, 2014 as a subsidiary of Multi Accord Ltd, a Hong Kong based company and was registered at ROC Delhi. GPICPL was registered on December 3, 2014 at ROC Shimla, with registered addresses of Solan, Himachal Pradesh and Gandhinagar, Jammu. "The said company was incorporated by Zhengshen Ou, Bin Lou and Zhang Jie with the help of Nitin Garg, CA. Bin Lou left India on April 26, 2018. Zhengshen Ou and Zhang Jie left India in 2021," the financial probe agency had said. The ED probe had revealed that the PMLA investigation by ED was initiated by registering a money laundering case on February 3, 2022 on the basis of an FIR registered at the Kalkaji police station in the national capital by the Delhi Police under sections 417, 120B and 420 of IPC, 1860 against GPICPL and its Director, shareholders and certifying professionals, etc., on the basis of complaint filed by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. As per the FIR, GPICPL and its shareholders had used forged identification documents and falsified addresses at the time of incorporation. The allegations were found to be true as the investigation revealed that the addresses mentioned by the directors of GPICPL did not belong to them, but in fact it was a government building and house of a senior bureaucrat.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has told Delhi High Court through an affidavit that <keyword id="215177" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vivo" source="Orion">Vivo</keyword> India indulged in money laundering to destabilise the financial system and challenge the integrity and sovereignty of the country. The affidavit was filed before the Delhi High Court last week. The anti-money laundering agency has said in the affidavit that they were scanning the suspicious financial transactions of 22 firms owned by Hongkong based foreigners and entities. These firms transferred huge money to China. It is also probing a money laundering case against Grand prospect International Communication private limited, a Jammu and Kashmir based distributor of Vivo. The firm was reportedly incorporated on the basis of forged documents and it was claiming to be a subsidiary of Vivo India. The firm used an email peter.ou@vivoglobal.com, indicates connection with Vivo India and it is in record of Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Delhi-based Chartered Accountant firm had helped in incorporating J&amp;K based firm. This firm has been in touch with Vivo India since 2014. The ED has mentioned that Vivo India incorporated 22 firms in different states which allegedly laundered money. The Delhi based CA firm helped Vivo India in incorporating 22 firms. Earlier, Vivo India had said that they were following all rules of the land of India. Chinese smartphone company Vivo's top executives, directors Zhengshen Ou and Zhang Jie, had fled from India via Nepal. In February, the ED initiated a Prevention of Money Laundering case against them on the basis of an FIR lodged with Kalkaji Police Station of Delhi under sections 417, 120B and 420 of IPC, 1860 against Grand Prospect International Communication Private Limited (GPICPL) and its Director, shareholders and certifying professionals etc on the basis of complaint filed by Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
