The prestigious Joint Entrance <keyword id="49591" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="examination">Examination</keyword> (<keyword id="6392660" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="JEE">JEE</keyword>) Advanced 2021 test has been postponed in view of the coronavirus situation in the country. Since the <keyword id="9859756" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="JEE-Mains-Examination">JEE Mains examination</keyword> could not be held at the scheduled time (May 24-28), so the <keyword id="1126172" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="JEE-Advanced">JEE Advanced</keyword> examination, which was going to be held on July 3, has also been postponed, the <keyword id="55119" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Institute-of-Technology">Indian Institute of Technology</keyword>, <keyword id="6357441" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="kharagpur">Kharagpur</keyword> announced. The Union <keyword id="181369" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Education-ministry">Education Ministry</keyword> had decided to conduct the JEE Mains examination four times in the current year. Candidates can appear in all four examinations of which their best test scores will be considered for appearing for the JEE Advanced exam. However, only two of the four sessions of JEE Mains examination have been conducted till now. <keyword id="581232" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Testing-Agency">National Testing Agency</keyword>'s Senior Examination Director, Sadhana Parashar, said the first session of the JEE Mains examination was held in February this year and more than 6,20,000 students appeared. The second session was held in March with more than 5,56,000 students appearing. The third session of the JEE Mains examination was scheduled to be held from April 27 to 30, but had to be postponed in view of the second wave of pandemic. In the sane way, the fourth session to be held on May 24-28 was also postponed. According to the Education Ministry, students will be informed 15 days in advance before the test is conducted. The results of the JEE Main Exam Session 2 which were held in March have been already declared. These exams were conducted in 12 foreign cities and 334 Indian cities. Due to the second wave of Covid-19, the Union Education Ministry had decided to postpone all offline examinations scheduled in the month of May. This decision will be applicable to all central higher educational institutions across the country. Such higher educational institutions, which receive financial aid from the government, will also have to postpone these too. JEE Advanced exam postponed due to surge in COVID-19 cases in the country

With a score of 314 marks out of 360, R.K. Shishir from Bombay zone has secured the first rank in the <keyword id="6354859" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="iit" source="Orion">IIT</keyword> entrance examination JEE-Advanced, the results of which were declared on Sunday. R.K. Shishir is the topper among the students whose names are included in the list of top 10 in JEE-Advanced exam. <keyword id="14954873" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="polu-lakshmi-sai" source="Orion">Polu Lakshmi Sai</keyword> came at number two, <keyword id="14954874" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="thomas-biju" source="Orion">Thomas Biju</keyword> at number three, <keyword id="14954872" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vangapalli-sai-siddharth" source="Orion">Vangapalli Sai Siddharth</keyword> at number four and Mayank Motwani of IIT Delhi zone came at number five. <keyword id="14954875" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="polishetty-kartikeya" source="Orion">Polishetty Kartikeya</keyword> is at 6th position, Prateek Sahu is 7th, Dheeraj Kurukunda is 8th in All India Rank, Mahit is at 9th position and Vetcha Gnana Mahesh has secured 10th position. Among the girls, Tanishka Kabra of IIT Delhi Zone bagged the top rank, while in common rank list she is at 16th place. Tanishka secured 277 marks out of 360 in JEE-Advanced exam. 40,712 candidates qualified this year out of a total of 1,55,538 who appeared in both Paper 1 and 2 of JEE-Advanced 2022. Based on the results, the admission process will now begin in 23 IITs across the country. Of the total 40,712 candidates who have qualified the JEE-Advanced exam, 6516 are girl students. In the case of foreign students, 296 foreign girl students had registered themselves for JEE-Advanced examinations. However, only foreign 280 students appeared and a 145 cracked the examination. JEE-Advanced exam was held on August 28. The test for the first paper of JEE-Advanced exam was held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and the second paper was held from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. In order to prevent electronic malpractices in the JEE-Advanced examination, 'jammers' were installed at the centres. JEE-Advanced Results: RK Shishir of IIT Bombay  tops zone

As the results for CBSE, ICSE and most state boards have been declared, the students are now set for the entrance examinations for top-notch colleges. IIT Roorkee announced the JEE Advanced result today on 14 June 2019. Maharashtra’s <keyword id="7757730" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="kartikeya-gupta">Kartikeya Gupta</keyword> topped JEE advanced exam 2019 scoring 346 marks out of 360. Gupta, who is a student from Allen Institute Kota scored 93.7% in class 12th examination and plans to take up computer science at IIT Mumbai. His father is working in the paper industry as a General Manager. On being asked about his secret to success, Gupta told <a href="https://zeenews.india.com/india/maharashtras-kartikeya-gupta-tops-jee-advanced-exam-allahabads-himanshu-singh-2nd-delhis-archit-bubna-3rd-2211477.html">ZEE Business</a> that he used to focus on the entrance study for nearly four to six hours a day. He also noted that daily revision and relaxation of mind is important for better results. Among the toppers is Himanshu Singh from Allahabad and Archit Bubna of New Delhi who secured second and third rank, respectively, in the JEE Advanced examination 2019. Last year, Pranav Goyal from Chandigarh topped the JEE Advanced examination, scoring 337 marks. The JEE examination was conducted on 27 May 2019. The students can access the results on the university’s official website jeeadv.ac.in.

JEE-Mains for admission to engineering colleges is being conducted four times a year from the current academic session to offer flexibility to students and a chance to improve their scores amidst the second wave of the pandemic in India. The first phase in February was followed by the second phase in March, while the next phases were scheduled for April and May. But those were postponed after a spike in the number of cases of coronavirus during the second wave of the pandemic. JEE-Mains pending exams to be held from July 20 to 25 and July 27 to August 2, results likely in August

<keyword id="997182" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aman-Bansal">Aman Bansal</keyword>, the boy from Jaipur, who has topped the IIT-JEE(Advanced) Exams is the talk of the town ever since the results were announced early on Sunday morning. 
 
Ask the boy how he managed to top <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Rejected-by-IIT-this-blind-man-went-to-MIT-and-is-now-a-CEO-of-a-50-crore-company/articleshow/51742269.cms">one of the toughest exams in the country</a>, and there comes his reply – “It is really very surprising for me. I was not very sure that I’d achieve first rank. I was just doing my best all this while.”

Bansal’s success mantra, however, lies in what he calls a not-so-tight routine. “I used to keep a daily/weekly fixed target routine where I would try and achieve as much as possible. Throughout the 12 months of preparation, I followed this to keep myself on track for finishing the syllabus and have enough time for revision subsequently.” 
 
He said he did not feel that the level of questions in <a href="http://www.testcurrentaffairs.com/2016/06/success-story-aman-bansal-iit-jee-advanced-2016-topper-interview.html">JEE Main examination</a> were extraordinarily difficult this year. “It remains more or less the same every year. My score was 186 each in Paper-1 and Paper-2. Between Mains and Advanced, I personally feel none was tough for me. But if I had to choose, I would say Mains had many complicated questions compared to Advanced. I found advanced easier for me. Also, Mains was lengthier.” 
 
He also has an advice for others who will appear for the test next year – “This year exam was more factual than previous years. It may continue. Please make sure you are prepared for both conceptual and factual.” 
 
The boy is planning to celebrate his success rather humbly - by spending time with parents and friends, who, he says, have helped him a lot throughout his preparation phase. 
 
But before that, he is happy to share some more tips on how aspirants should prepare. Here take cue from his own experience. Bansal studied for 8 hours daily apart from attending the coaching classes. He took lot of mock tests and says it helps a lot in preparing for the ultimate day. Physics and Mathematics were his two favourite subjects, and he says, he never felt they were tough because he enjoyed solving the questions. 
 
“I was attentive everywhere, so all I had to do was revise whatever they would teach me and do my homework for the class,” Bansal says, adding that even as he put all his energy and hard work in cracking this exam, he handled stress and pressure very calmly. 
 
Now, this Jaipur lad wants to opt for <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/IIT-Bombay-ORCA/articleshow/52499437.cms">IIT Bombay</a>. “I am thinking about taking up Computer science as my specialization. I will do some research work, but haven’t decided which subject I will choose for research,” he says. 
 
As he concludes his enriching experience, the motivating words coming from this young boy are – “Try to give your best and you will succeed one day. Never get bogged down by the facts that you are from rural/poor background. Its only hard work that matters and nothing else.”

IIT-JEE (Advanced) Topper Aman Bansal shares how he secured Rank 1 in one of India's Toughest Exam

At an age when most students are clueless about the career they want to pursue, 15-year-old Abhay Agrawal has cracked JEE Advance 2017 - one of India's toughest exam. With 2476 All India Rank, he has even secured a seat in <keyword id="6354859" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIT">IIT</keyword>-BHU. Abhay has secured admission in mechanical engineering, but has not yet confirmed his seat and instead opted to `float' the given choice of institute as he wants to study at IIT Roorkee. He jumped initial classes and completed Class 12 before his contemporaries at school. "My parents got me enrolled at a coaching class in the city. Some people discouraged me but that motivated me to study harder," said Abhay. Unlike his classmates, he stayed away from social media and other distractions while preparing for the competition. He comes from a modest family. His father Mukesh works as a pump attendant at Firozabad Nagar Nigam, and his mother, Ekta, is a Class 12 passout. His father said, "Abhay has brought us laurels at an early age. When the chief medical officer in Firozabad had to prepare his medical certificate, he was surprised. At IIT Kanpur also, JEE staff was amazed to know he was this young. He is a talented boy with high capabilities. He would finish BTech also in the stipulated time." Meanwhile, on his feat, a JEE staffer said, "He could be the youngest candidate this year to join an IIT. His class 10 mark sheet confirms that he is fifteen and a half year old. He was born on November 9, 2001.” In class 12 exams Abhay had scored 87.2 percent from CBSE Board and scored 85.63 percent in class 10 from UP Board. Unlike his classmates, he stayed away from social media and other distractions while preparing for the competition. He aspires to own a startup that will deal in products related to robotics.

The entrance tests to the IITs abroad have been held till now only to admit Indian nationals. However, for the first time, it has been planned to admit foreign students through tests held abroad. 
 
Exam centres will soon be set up in six countries including three SAARC nations - Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dubai (UAE), Kathmandu (Nepal) and Singapore. 
 
But, it seems the premier institutes recognised world over for its par excellence education, are going a bit too far in their bid to go global. 
They are offering unfair advantages to foreign candidates. 
 
Foreign students applying from the six countries will be able to directly appear for JEE (advanced) exam if they have secured at least 75 per cent aggregate marks in class 12 (or equivalent) Board Examination. Based on their performance in the exam, the students can select IITs for undergraduate courses. 
 
For Indians, however, to qualify for the admission in the IITs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, it's compulsory to have scored at least 75% marks in Class 12th examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. Moreover, JEE (Main) is a mandatory eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs. 
 Laying out the application procedure for <keyword id="105019" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="foreign-nationals">foreign nationals</keyword>, the <keyword id="405083" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIT-Joint-Admission-Board">IIT Joint Admission Board</keyword> said - “They are required to upload the birth certificate, class 12 marksheet and certificate for 75 per cent cut-off, identity proof of the candidate, citizenship certificate and passport of both the parents." For B.Arch programme, successful candidates are required to come to one of the zonal IITs to write the test. 
 
Notably, seats available to foreign nationals would be in addition to the existing seats at IITs and will not result in the reduction of seats available to Indian students. Even though these seats will not exceed 10 per cent of the total seats in each course offered by the IITs, qualifying foreign students direct entry into JEE (Advanced) is going to make their way into IITs way easier than their Indian counterparts.
