Chennai, Feb 27(): Jana Small Finance Bank, formerlyJanalakshmi Financial Services, has planned to strengthenpresence in Tamil Nadu by taking the total number of branchesto 80 by March 2021.    The Bengaluru-headquartered bank currently serves over sixlakh customers in the state with an asset book size of Rs2,200 crore and deposits of over Rs 1,100 crore.    On Thursday, a new branch was opened here by DMK MPThamizhachi Thangapandian taking the total number ofbranches to 29 in the state.    "The bank's branches will reach 50 by thisfinancial year-end and 80 by March 2021," a press releasesaid.    Commenting on the expansion, the bank's zonal head-retailfinancial services Pradeep Gurumallappa said, "We are elatedto expand our footprint in Chennai".    "Jana Small Finance Bank's commitment towards financialinclusion reflects in our varied product offerings includingzero balance savings account, fixed deposits...," he said. Jana Small Finance Bank eyes 80 branches in TN by March 2021

Mumbai, Kerala-based ESAF Small Finance Bank on Monday filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with markets regulator <keyword id="5083555" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Securities-and-Exchange-Board-of">Securities and Exchange Board of</keyword> India for an IPO. As per the DRHP, the aggregate issue size is up to ₹997.78 crore, comprising of a fresh issue component of up to ₹800 crore and an Offer for Sale up to ₹197.78 crore by promoter and other selling shareholders i.e <keyword id="8150050" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="PNB-MetLife-India-Insurance-Company">PNB Metlife India Insurance Company</keyword>, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Ltd, <keyword id="4412564" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Pi-Ventures-LLP">PI Ventures LLP</keyword>, and John Chakola. The net proceeds from the fresh issue will be used to augment the bank's Tier 1 capital (primarily loans, advances and investment portfolio) to meet future capital requirements. The company may consider a pre-IPO placement of up to ₹300 crore, subject to counsel from the lead managers. As per the CRISIL report, ESAF is one of the leading small finance banks in terms of yield on advances, AUM growth rate, and share of retail deposits. It currently operates across 21 states and two Union Territories with 550 branches, 421 customer service centres (which are operated by its business correspondents), 12 business correspondents, 158 banking agents and 327 ATMs and serves over 4.68 million customers. As of March 2021, ESAF's gross advances stood at ₹8,415 crore, compared with ₹6,606.51 crore a year ago and total deposits were at ₹8,999.43 crore against ₹7,028.38 crore. Additionally, the DRHP states that the bank will continue to focus on its rural and semi-urban franchisees and increase deposits across NRIs and CASA. As on date, it stands to have the highest share of retail deposits as a percentage to the total deposits when compared to the other small finance banks. Kerala-based ESAF Small Finance Bank looks to raise ₹998 crore through IPO

New Delhi, Dec 16 () Equitas Small Finance Bank (Equitas SFB) on Monday said it has filed draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with the regulator SEBI for Rs 1,000 crore initial public offer.
 The Initial Public Offering (IPO) comprises a fresh issue aggregating up to Rs 550 crore and an offer for sale of up to 80,000,000 equity shares by Equitas Holdings Limited (EHL), the promoter, Equitas Small Finance Bank said in a statement quoting DRHP.
 The offer includes a reservation of up to Rs 100 crore for subscription by eligible EHL shareholders and a reservation aggregating up to Rs 5 crore for subscription by eligible employees, it said. 
 "In terms of the RBI In-Principle Approval, RBI Final Approval and SFB Licensing Guidelines, the Bank is required to list its equity shares on the Stock Exchanges within three years from the date of commencement of business by the bank," it said.
 The bank proposes to utilise the net proceeds from the offer towards augmenting Tier I capital base and to meet future capital requirements.
The equity shares will be listed on BSE and NSE.
In September after the small bank failed to be listed within the stipulated timeframe as per the licence agreement, the banking regulator, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), refused to extend the listing deadline for Equitas SFB and barred it from opening new branches till further orders. 
 The regulator also froze the pay of CEO Vasudevan PN. RBI rules mandate that a small finance bank should list within three years of reaching Rs 500-crore net worth.
Although the RBI directive does not have a major implication on the business, the bank will be forced to list by March 2020.
Equitas SFB have been able to diversify their loan portfolio and significantly reduce dependence on microfinance business as compared to other microfinance companies that have converted to SFBs, it said.

Equitas Small Finance Bank files papers for Rs 1000 crore IPO

Kolkata, May 29 () The country's economy, which has been hit by the COVID-19 outbreak, needs support from the public sector banks (PSBs) to boost credit growth, an official said on Friday. The number of PSBs has come down after amalgamation of several lenders, and their ability to lend has increased manifold, Union Bank of India MD and CEO Rajkiran Rai G said. Recently, Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India were merged into Punjab National Bank, Syndicate Bank into Canara Bank, Allahabad Bank into Indian Bank and Andhra and Corporation banks into Union Bank of India. He said the lenders will be able to meet the expectations of the business community. Speaking at a webinar session organised by the BCCI, Rai said that there will be a shift of credit growth in favour of the PSBs, adding that depositors will expect an interest rate of 5.5 per cent. According to him, the issues of the depositors cannot be overlooked, and more stress will have to be given on the liability side to retain customers. Kotak Mahindra Bank whole-time director and president Gaurang Shah said the retail, a low-cost liability base, is key sustenance factor of the banks. Ajay Kanwal, MD and CEO of Jana Small Finance Bank said around 65 per cent of micro-finance borrowers felt the COVID-19 impact to a large extent. ESAF Small Finance Bank The Kerala-based ESAF Small Finance Bank had filed DRHP in January and subsequently got the approval from SEBI at the end of March. However, the bank delayed its initial public offering due to the volatile market conditions and said it would take a call on ₹976-crore initial public offering (IPO) after September. The ₹976-crore IPO of ESAF Small Finance Bank will comprise a fresh issue worth ₹800 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) aggregating up to ₹176.2 crore. Kalyan Jewellers Kerala based Jewellery maker, Kalyan Jewellers, is also expected to launch a ₹1,750 crore initial public offering (IPO) in <a href="http://www.marketsguruji.com/upcoming-ipos-in-india/">November</a>. The ₹1,750 crore IPO will be the largest in its sector. The issue will consist of a fresh fundraise of ₹1,000 crore and offer of sale by promoter TS Kalyanaraman and private equity firm Warburg Pincus of ₹750 crore. Burger King One of India'sIndia's fastest-growing food chains, Burger King, is also in line to raise as much as ₹1,000 crore by initial public offering. The firm aims to utilise the funds to double the number of restaurants by 2025, where it currently operates 216 in India, as per its DRHP. Burger King IPO is also likely to hit the market in November this year. Bajaj Energy The ₹5,450 crore IPO of Uttar Pradesh-based, one of the largest private-sector thermal generation companies, Bajaj Energy, is expected to hit the market by the end of this year. The IPO comprises fresh issuance of shares aggregating up to ₹5,150 crore and an offer for sale of scrips up to ₹300 crore by the promoter Bajaj Power Ventures, according to its DRHP.
