Mumbai, Feb 5 () Actor Akshay Kumar has pipped Deepika Padukone in celebrity brand ranking with the Khiladi star's value rising to USD 104.5 million, according to a report released on Wednesday. Cricketer Virat Kohli continues to hold the top spot with a brand value of USD 237.5 million, Duff and Phelps' celebrity brand valuation report for 2019 said. Padukone, who was ranked at number two last year, has slipped to number three with a brand valuation of USD 93.5 million, while Kumar has replaced her as the second most-valued celebrity, the report said. Padukone invited the ire of a lot of people by showing up at protests at JNU against a violent attack on students, while Kumar was in the news for interviewing Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his landslide win in the general elections. Both Padukone and Kumar had a slew of popular releases during the year. Padukone shares the number-three spot with actor-husband Ranveer Singh, who was ranked at number four in the year-ago period. Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan continue to hold on to their number six and five spots, with brand values of USD 55.7 million and USD 66.1 million, respectively, it said. Aamir Khan has had a major slip in ranking by brand value to 16th place with a total value of USD 24.9 million, as against 11th place in the year-ago period. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan's rank has also slipped to eighth from the seventh rank in the year-ago period with a value of USD 42.5 million, and has swapped placed with Alia Bhatt, whose current value is USD 45.8 million. There have been new entrants in the top-20 list like Article-15 actor Ayushman Khurana at rank 10 with a value of USD 40.3 million, Jackie Shroff's actor son Tiger at rank 17 with a USD 24.2 million brand worth and cricketer Rohit Sharma at 20th rank. The top-20 celebrity brands are from cricket and films and are collectively worth over USD 1.1 billion. The high octane action flick has a single 18 minute-long sequence that cost ₹65 crore to make it. Saaho registers a massive pre-booking Theatres across Hyderabad witnessed an extensive advance booking soon after the tickets window opened. AMB Cinemas in Hyderabad, which was among the first to open windows for booking said they've sold 25,000 tickets for 83 shows. As of August 29, there were hardly any tickets left on BookMyShow for the show. According to IBtimes, AMB Cinemas are running shows with 308 seats and can earn upto ₹62,800 for each of the show. Saaaho will be released in IMAX too The action thriller also has an IMAX version which will be released in India and abroad. The film has been digitally re-mastered into an immersive IMAX format. While it has become a common to release Hollywood films in IMAX screens, Bollywood has not yet caught the trend is not yet prevalent among Indian filmmakers, particularly the ones in Bollywood. Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3, Akshay Kumar’s Gold and Rajnikanth’s 2.O are amongst the few Indian films to be released on IMAX. Well, both seem to have done equally well in the annual IPL ad recall research of the Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB) conducted ten days after the start of the League this year. The research polled 879 respondents in the age-group of 18-35 years (M=481, F=398) across India. The interviews were conducted telephonically. Dream11 was the most spontaneously recalled brand in this year’s survey, which possibly also helped enhance both the brand equity and recall of MS Dhoni who anchored the 12-ad series for the brand as its ambassador and protagonist. Jio Fiber, with multiple IPL teams featured with an effervescent Ranveer Singh gyrating with a sing-song brand message, came in second on recall in the research, also helping the celebrity endorser to considerably strengthen his personal recall. Byju’s was the most spontaneously recalled brand on the IPL last year; though its celebrity endorser Shah Rukh Khan trailed behind other celebrities. Virat Kohli, as expected, did well on recall too, and came third in the recall rankings. Salman Khan did surprisingly well in this year’s survey and came in at No. 4, ahead of Rishabh Pant, Rahul Dravid, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Saurav Ganguly who followed in that sequence. Ajay Devgn, Sachin Tendulkar, Shikhar Dhawan, Shah Rukh Khan, Boman Irani, Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Ayushmann Khurrana and Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, had very few mentions and scored very poorly on respondent recall. There were sporadic mentions of Virender Sehwag and Priyanka Chopra too. In the last survey conducted in October 2020, MS Dhoni had the highest spontaneous recall as a celebrity endorser. Virat Kohli was a not-so-close second. Akshay Kumar was at rank 3; Ayushmann Khurrana at rank 4. “MS Dhoni and Ranveer Singh had a disproportionate share of visibility and recall in the IPL research we just conducted. This was in sync with the ultra-high recall of the brands they respectively endorse”, said Dr. Sandeep Goyal, Chief Mentor of IIHB. “It is interesting nevertheless to note that brands without celebrities like Phone Pe, Byju’s and others too have done well wherever media investments are heavy”. IIHB team used its proprietorial CELEBAR tool based on Celebrity Brand Association &amp; Recognition to assign a metric score to each celebrity and associated brand. The tool takes into account: <ul><li>Spontaneous recall of the brand</li><li>Spontaneous recall of the celebrity</li><li>Association between brand &amp; celebrity together </li><li>Recency of communication </li><li>Media weight behind campaign</li><li>Solus versus multiple brands using the celebrity</li></ul>MS Dhoni had a CELEBAR score of 87, up from 82 at the last IPL. His spontaneous recall was an unusually high 82%. His association with Dream 11 was also very constant at 79% from the last edition. He got 9% association with IPL/Star TV, 8% brand association with Indigo Paints, 6% with Orient Fans for Orient Fans and Livfast Solar. 2% recall came from SunFeast Yippee. So, most of Dhoni’s brand goodness got hijacked by Dream 11, much like last year. If Dhoni had only been endorsing Dream 11, his CELEBAR score would have been near 100, given his strong association with that one brand, to almost the relative exclusion of the other brands he endorses. Ranveer achieved a CELEBAR score of 86, empirically almost equal to that of MS Dhoni. But his association was more democratically spread with Jio Fiber at 56%, JD mart at 48%, My11 Circle at 22% and Bingo at 18%. Names of some other brands were mentioned by respondents but these were filtered out as they were not part of the IPL broadcast. Both MS Dhoni and Ranveer gained massively also on account of their main brands spending disproportionately large amounts of media monies which made them exponentially more visible than other competing celebrities. Virat Kohli trailed far behind the Top 2. His score of 45 on CELEBAR is mostly derived by his 94% association with MRF tyres. Bluestar is in low single digits on association. Salman Khan at a CELEBAR of 38, owes 82% recall to Rajshree elaichi and the balance to Pepsi. Rishabh Pant climbed up interestingly to No. 5 on the strength of his JSW appearances. Varun Dhawan had 76% of his recall from Lux Cozi and much lower from Frooti. Alia owed most of her recall also to Frooti with scattered mentions of Dark Fantasy. Interestingly, the IPL seems to be running no/few ads with Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, and even with cricketers Rohit Sharma or KL Rahul or Hardik Pandya, or the media weightages behind those ads were too insignificant to be noticed by viewers. The Cred ad for Rahul Dravid was spontaneously recalled by 17% respondents but only 2% remembered Jackie Shroff and only 1% mentioned Kumar Sanu for the same brand. Mutual Funds (AMFI) ads had 22% recall but most respondents got the protagonists mixed up, with the most attributing the messaging to Dhoni and Kohli. Dream 11’s association with multiple cricketers was mentioned by many respondents but most were not sure if they remembered current creatives. Only the connect with MS Dhoni was unambiguous. Despite heavy media weights, Vimal elaichi ad featuring Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan had only an 8% recall. Netmeds with Kareena Kapoor and Renuka Shahane had a good 9% recall. Priyanka Chopra’s Appy Fizz and Katrina’s Slice were almost not recalled. Hema Malini managed 3% recall on Kent RO. Randhir Kapoor’s Asian Paints managed 4% while Kareena Kapoor’s and Pankaj Tripathi’s Berger creatives both got below 1%. Ayushmann was remembered by less than 1% in Urban Company. Gajaraj Rao was mentioned in less than 1% for Voltas. Unacademy featuring Sunil Gavaskar and Harsha Bhogle too scored poorly at 2%. Gamezy featuring KL Rahul got less than 1% recall. On the ads without celebrities, the most remembered were Phone Pe (32%), Byju’s (31%), Vivo (22%), One Plus (21%), Groww (20%), Upstox (20%), Kia (19%), MPL (18%), Bisleri (11%), PharmEasy (11%), Thums Up(9%), Coca Cola (6%), Renault Kiger (6%), Tata Safari (6%), Skoda (3%), Ajio (3%), Dark Fantasy (2%), LikedIn (2%), Raymond (2%) and Tuborg (1%). As more gets added to the broadcast as the IPL progresses, both standings of celebrities and recall of brands may change.

<ul><li>Followers can sue influencers for lying about liking a product under the Consumer Protection Act 2019.</li><li>Most online influencers in India do not reveal if they’re genuinely endorsing a product or if they’ve been paid to say nice things about it, even if it’s not true constituting ‘misleading advertisement’.</li><li>The fine can go as high as ₹10 lakh. </li><li>A Buzzoka survey finds that it’s not the brands of the influencers at fault, but influencer agencies who don’t wish for influencers to reveal whether or not they’re being paid. </li></ul>It’s not uncommon to see social media ‘influencers’ flaunt their latest purchases or talk about their favourite brands, online. In fact, it’s an integral part of being an influencer — mostly because fans believe the feedback is honest. If it’s not, followers are fully within their rights to sue the influencer under the Consumer Protection Act 2019. Fines for misleading advertising can go up to ₹10 lakh for the first offence. Repeat offenders can be charged up to ₹50 lakh. The reality is that a lot of influencers out there are raking in the big bucks, but they’re not necessarily disclosing that they were paid to endorse a particular product. To make matters worse, there’s nobody is standing at the gates to point out when it’s an ad and when it’s not. So, a particular ‘anecdote’ about comfy slippers might actually be a paid-for advertisement but followers would be none the wiser. Social media influencers have a wider reach and a deeper trust factor. When can you sue an influencer? Disclosure is one way to ensure transparency. Not telling a person that an ad is an ad isn’t technically wrong if you actually and genuinely believe in a product. The problem is when influencers intentionally lie or mislead their followers about how ‘awesome’ a new lipstick is when it’s actually not. Falsifying a product’s description, giving fake guarantees or deliberating keeping pertinent information from users is against the law if a person is being paid to do it — it falls under ‘misleading advertisements’, according to <a href="http://www.mondaq.com/article.asp?articleid=877176&amp;email_access=on">LexRidge Partners, Advocates and Solicitors.</a> It’s an especially grave concern in <keyword id="2540701" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Influencer-marketing">influencer marketing</keyword> because the relationship between the influencer and the followers has a lot to do with trust. The <keyword id="8484407" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="most-popular-influencers">most popular influencers</keyword> have their platforms because, at one point or another, they have ‘called it like they see it’ — reinforcing a level of honesty. Keep in mind that the influencer market isn’t restricted to make-up products and gadgets, even political parties — the most prominent of which is the BJP — uses influencers to power their brand, according to Buzzoka’s <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/advertising/brands/article/top-three-social-media-platforms-to-be-used-for-influencer-marketing-in-2020/articleshow/72867621.cms">Influencer Marketing Outlook 2020</a>. The middle-man The fault does not lie solely on the influencer’s shoulders. And, contrary to popular belief, the brands aren’t entirely to blame either. Between an influencer and the brand, there’s usually a middle man — the influencer marketing agency. They are the ones that don’t want to disclose that an ad is an ad. This is true even if the brand and the influencer don’t have a problem with it, according to Buzzoka’s report. It’s because marketers see ‘word of mouth’ as one of the key reasons behind an influencer’s popularity. And, there’s no avoiding them. Brands believe influencer agencies to be the key link between markets and influencers. Moreover, influencers also believe that these agencies are the best way to get more deals under their wing. The bittersweet taste of success Currently, India’s influencer market stands at $75-150 million, according to AdLift, a digital marketing agency. And, it’s expected to increase as India’s data prices remain one of the cheapest in the world. At the same time, brands progressively believe that influencers are compromising on the authenticity of their content by signing up for too much simultaneously. Most agree that stringent rules need to be in place to control content association as per Buzzoka’s report. And it may well be. The Advertising Standards Council of India (<a href="https://www.livemint.com/industry/media/promoting-brands-on-social-media-the-ad-regulator-is-watching-11570556510818.html">ASCI</a>) is working new guidelines that will ensure that social media influencers have to disclose if they’re promoting a product. YouTube and TikTok influencers beware — you can be sued up to ₹10 lakh for misleading your followers

The first official trailer of Karan Johar’s upcoming movie <keyword id="6360799" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="brothers">Brothers</keyword> was released yesterday. An official remake of the Hollywood movie Warrior, the Hindi version stars <keyword id="2823" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Akshay-Kumar">Akshay Kumar</keyword>, <keyword id="1320874" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sidharth-Malhotra">Sidharth Malhotra</keyword>, Jacqueline Fernandes, and Jackie Shroff. 
 
In the trailer, we see Akshay and Sidharth as estranged brothers who face each other in a boxing ring. Jackie Shroff plays the role of their father while Jacqueline Fernandes plays Akshay Kumar’s wife. While Akshay plays David, a professor who turns to fighting to save her daughter’s life, Sidharth plays Monty, a fighter who becomes an internet sensation because of one viral video and wants to prove himself. 
 
The movie has been directed by Karan Malhotra, who has earlier directed the remake of the hit 1990 film Agneepath, starring Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt in leading roles. Produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and Endemol India, the film is officially presented by Fox Star India, in association with Lionsgate. 
 The trailer was awaited by the respective fan followings of both the stars, and had been trending on Twitter for a few days. It has collected 1,567,134 views in less than 24 hours of being released, and has caught the fancy of many <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> stars as well.

Actions and emotions rule the first official trailer of Brothers

Bollywood actor <keyword id="2823" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Akshay-Kumar">Akshay Kumar</keyword>, who is known to be active on social media platforms and share glimpses of his personal and professional lives, unveiled the first look of his upcoming movie Brothers on his social media accounts. 
 
Brothers, starring Akshay Kumar, <keyword id="1320874" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sidharth-Malhotra">Sidharth Malhotra</keyword>, Jackie Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez is an official adaptation of 2011 Hollywood movie Warrior, starring Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton, Erik Apple and Jennifer Morrison. 
 
It’s a story of two brothers who confront each other and their conflicted past when they end up in a wrestling ring against each other. The film was a critical success and won acclaims for its emotional angles of forgiveness and family bonds. 
 
In the poster unveiled yesterday, we can see both Kumar and Malhotra in beefed-up avatars, to justify the roles of wrestlers. While Sidharth Malhotra is seen in a full beard for the first time, Akshay too has kept his salt-and-peppered beard for the first time in a movie. Prior to this, it was only during award functions and reality shows that we spotted Akshay in a beard. Veteran actor Jackie Shroff, who will be seen playing the role of the brothers, is seen in the backyard, with his look justifying the role of a father recovering from alcohol problems. 
 
Another detail that we noticed in the poster was that both Akshay and Sidharth are playing Christians in the movie, as suggested by the Christ Tattoo that Akshay is seen sporting on his arm and the Cross lockets that both Sidharth and Akshay are wearing. This suggests that the makers have tried to not change too many details from the plot of Warrior, given the fact that the director of the movie was vocal about the <a href="http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/warrior-director-explains-films-spiritual-inspiration/">spiritual inspiration</a> of the movie. 
 
Brothers, which is produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions with Lions Gate and Endemol India, is directed by <keyword id="362061" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Karan-Malhotra">Karan Malhotra</keyword> who last directed 2012 release Agneepath, which was a remake of the 1990 film of the same name. 
 
The film is slated to be released on August 14, 2015.

Akshay Kumar Unveils The First Look Of Brothers

We all know that Salman Khan is launching his protégé <keyword id="1623055" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sooraj-Pancholi">Sooraj Pancholi</keyword> (Son of Aditya Pancholi) along with <keyword id="928985" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Athiya-Shetty">Athiya Shetty</keyword> (daughter of Suniel Shetty) in the official remake of the 1983 film Hero, in the debut production of his banner, <keyword id="1542347" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Salman-Khan-films">Salman Khan Films</keyword>. The movie’s fate was in question after Sooraj was accused of being responsible for the death of his alleged girlfriend Jiah Khan, but her death was later ruled as suicide. 
 
The first official trailer of the movie, which has been named after the original movie, is out, and Sooraj Pancholi definitely looks like the next big thing. 
 
With the toned physique and a rugged, tattooed look, we see him portraying Sooraj, a goon who has kidnapped the daughter of the IG of police, with whom he later falls in love with. Athiya, in her role as Radha, looks innocent and convincing at what was required from her end. 
The trailer is full of action scenes and we also hear the title track of the movie being played in the background in some scenes. 
 
Three words get highlighted in the trailer: rebels, love and freedom, and looks like the movie is going to be as interesting as the 1983 original, which is remembered for the earnest performances of Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri in the lead roles. 
 
The script has been re-written by Nikhil Advani, whohas also directed the movie, along with Umesh Bisht. Co-produced by Mukta Arts, the banner that produced the original, Eros International, Emmay Entertainment and Salman Khan Films, the movie would release on 11th September.

In this flick, Aditya Pancholi’s son Suraj and Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya will be playing the roles, which were portrayed by Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri in the 1983 original. 
 
Akshara Haasan 
Kamal Haasan and Sarika’s daughter has finally made up her mind and given a nod to acting. But unlike her elder sister Shruti, Akshara is going to debut with a Bollywood movie. Rumours are rife that it is going to be an R. Balki film, starring Dhanush and Amitabh Bachchan. Now, that’s what we call a big break.

7 Star Kids Set To Make Waves In Bollywood

He is surely one of the most versatile actors of Indian cinema, and has had a pretty decent career entertaining the masses. Be it his charming smile, his loud choice of colors, or the way he moves his body in street dances, <keyword id="6381730" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="govinda">Govinda</keyword> has somehow always related to a common Indian, making him one of India’s most loved actors. 
 
Starting his career in 1986 with the movie Ilzaam, Govinda has been a part of more than 150 films, but this journey has not been smooth. Many a times in his career, he has faced setbacks and career pauses, only to try and strike back later. 
 
The first setback that he faced in his career was in early 2000s, right after he faced enormous success in the 1990s. In the early 2000s, a number of his films failed to perform commercially. He also turned down roles in several movies like Taal, the role was later played by Anil Kapoor; and Devdas, the role was later played by Jackie Shroff. Both the movies went on to garner critical and commercial success. 
 
It was not that Govinda was rejecting these roles for something bigger or better. The films that he did during those times accounted only for his screen presence and nothing else. There was nothing new that he could offer, nothing for which audience could have gone for his movies, and as a result, the movies tanked, leaving Govinda with no hopes to cling to. 
 
Only in his 30s, which is generally the golden period in an Indian actor’s career, he had begun to lose out on films; and thanks to better choices, his contemporaries were establishing themselves as bigger actors. 
 Another problem in his acting career was his career as a politician. He took a sabbatical from acting in 2003, only to return in 2005, albeit with either the same roles or the release of his delayed movies, all of which turned out to be disasters. It isn’t in vain what they say in <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword>, out of sight means out of mind. 
 
His minor relief came in the form of Bhagam Bhag, where he finally agreed to do a two-hero movie. The movie became a hit and people thought that Govinda had returned. 
 
Later, he did a critically successful role of an Indian taxi driver falling in love with a foreigner traveller in Salaam-e-Ishq. However, the major success came in his way in the form of Partner, a movie that offered the fresh pairing of Govinda and <keyword id="6354850" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Katrina-Kaif">Katrina Kaif</keyword>, also starring <keyword id="6354583" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Salman-Khan">Salman Khan</keyword> and Lara Dutta. The film, which was a huge hit, is recalled as one of the greatest hits of his career. 
 
However, he could not maintain the success and did commercial duds like Money Hai Toh Honey Hai. Other than one or two stable films, Govinda’s career had again taken a setback. 
 
In late 2000s and early 2010s, movies like Do Knot Disturb, Raavan, Naughty @ 40, Loot, Deewana Main Deewana and Samadhi did nothing to revive his sinking career. 
 
2014 is nearing its end, Govind Arun Ahuja has crossed his golden 40s, and is seen only in one movie, Holiday, as of yet. Even that role can easily be termed as a guest appearance. He would now be seen in some big-budget movies like <keyword id="1172963" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kill-Dil">Kill Dil</keyword> and <keyword id="713574" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Happy-Ending">Happy Ending</keyword> in 2014 and Hero and <keyword id="1704167" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jagga-Jasoos">Jagga Jasoos</keyword> in 2015. 
 
Although his roles in both the movies releasing this year look promising, whether these movies will again mark his comeback or would just add to many of his failed attempts, remains to be seen.
