The Government of Haryana has released the merit list for enrolling in Industrial Training Institute (<keyword id="6368889" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="iti">ITI</keyword>) programs today. The seat allotment will take place according to the merit list. The candidates who have applied for the admission process can check the official updates at itiharyana.gov.in. The second merit list is expected to be released on 26 July 2019 and the admission will commence from 29 July to 1 August. The online counselling for admissions was from 27 June to 12 July. The selected candidates will then have to go through document verification process, which will be conducted between 18-19 July and 22-23 July. The government will release four merit lists for online counselling. The merit list is based on the marks obtained in the class 10th and class 12th exams. The Department of Skill Development and Industrial Training, Haryana conducts skill based training for employment among youth of Haryana through its 167 government Industrial Training Institutes and 242 Private ITIs under Craftsman Training Scheme.

Chandigarh, Apr 23 () Women Self-Help Groups in Haryana have made over 17 lakh protective face covers and masks, lending a help hand to the administration and NGOs trying to stop the spread of coronavirus.In addition to the face covers and masks, they have prepared nearly 13,000 Personal Protection Equipment kits and 35,000 sanitizers of 100 ml each.Their initiative has not only helped in boosting supply of these items but has also generated income for the SGHs, officials said. There are over 40,000 SGHs in the state.Through the district administration and NGOs these items are provided to various categories of workers engaged in the fight against COVID-19 as also to needy persons.As many as 113 Women Self-Help Groups from 34 cities of the state have prepared 3,26,013 protective face covers and 225 protective kits. These groups have been formed under the Haryana State Urban Livelihood Mission.The 40,031 SGHs formed in rural areas of the State have prepared 13,98,605 masks, 12,624 PPE kits and 35,000 sanitizers of 100 ml each. Apart from this, these Self-Help Groups have also prepared 82,657 food packs and have earned an amount of about Rs. 1.25 crore, officials said. Self-Help Groups of 10 to 20 urban poor women are formed under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana being implemented under National Urban Livelihoods Mission. Haryana's Skill Development and Industrial Training Department is also preparing cotton cloth masks for giving them at a nominal price to the district administration and NGOs, Director General of the Department, Rakesh Gupta said.Gupta said that there are 172 Government Industrial Training Institutes in Haryana.As the government is also encouraging use of cloth masks for a healthy citizen, the department took the decision to initiate mass production of masks in state government ITIs and also to offer its infrastructure to Self Help Groups for making masks.Gupta said the Department of Skill Development and Industrial Training, Haryana offered the use of its sewing machines for use by SHGs as per their requirement. Apart from this, members of SHGs also started making masks on their own machines.Gupta said the principals of the ITIs have been instructed to ensure compliance of prescribed norms of social distancing by all staff and trainees in institutes and to sanitise machines and trade workshops regularly. State-owned <keyword id="19970536" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="BSNL" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="BSNL" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="BSNL">BSNL</keyword> will start rolling out <keyword id="21279641" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="4G-services" source="keywords">4G services</keyword> across the country from August, using completely indigenous technology in line with the government's "Atmanirbhar" policy, according to official sources. BSNL officials claimed to have recorded peak speed of 40-45 megabit per second on the 4G network which has been rolled out in the premium spectrum band of 700 megahertz (Mhz) as well as in 2,100 Mhz band during the pilot phase. The company has rolled out 4G services in Punjab using indigenously developed technology by IT company TCS and state-run telecom research organisation C-DoT-led consortium and onboarded around 8 lakh subscribers. "The 4G core developed by C-DoT is performing very well in the BSNL network in Punjab. It was installed in July last year. It takes 12 month to prove the success of such complex technology but the C-DoT core has stabilised within 10 months. BSNL will launch atmanirbhar 4G technology across the country in August," a senior government official, who did not wish to be named, told PTI. The core network is a collection of network hardware, devices, and software that provides fundamental services in a telecommunication network. Telecom regulator <keyword id="19942079" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Trai" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Trai" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Trai">Trai</keyword> in a recent paper explained core as part of a network that offers the functionality of aggregation, call control, switching, authentication, charging, gateway functionality, etc. TCS, Tejas Networks and government-owned ITI have bagged orders worth about Rs 19,000 crore from BSNL for deploying 4G network which is upgradable to 5G. In a recent earnings call, Tejas Networks Executive Director and chief operating officer Arnob Roy said BSNL's mobile network is getting deployed across zones. He said that wherever the C-DOT core is not available on the BSNL network, the equipment is getting integrated to the existing core. "When the C-DOT core gets deployed in those circles, in those zones, they will get parented to the C-DOT core as well. Tejas Networks Limited. This is just a temporary situation where the RAN (radio access network) is deployed and in that zone, the core is not available," Roy said. BSNL is in the process of deploying 1.12 lakh towers for 4G and <keyword id="20041753" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="5G-services" source="keywords">5G services</keyword> across India. "The company has installed over 9,000 towers for 4G service across the country, out of which more than 6,000 are active in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, UP West and Haryana circle. BSNL has been selling 4G capable SIM only for the last 4-5 years. Only those customers who have older SIM will need to get new SIM to experience the service," a BSNL official said. BSNL to launch 4G services across India in August; to use indigenous technology

New Delhi, Feb 29 () Hero MotoCorp Ltd on Saturday said it has inaugurated the first-ever training centre for women at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Ambala in Haryana. The Centre of Excellence for Women - at ITI Ambala in Haryana will build key skill-set amongst women. Launched in association with the Skill Development and Industrial Training Department, Government of Haryana and United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the centre aims to enhance employment opportunities for women in the automotive industry. The industrial training will be imparted to women in a fully functional technician training labs set up under this association, a company statement said. Launched under Ek Pahal -- a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Hero MotoCorp -- the centre will also have a two-wheeler riding training facility for women. The centre is equipped with conventional learning facilities, including a fully automated technician training labs with pneumatic tools and precision equipment, it said. In addition, live cut sections of Hero Engines and other two-wheeler parts have also been installed to help the trainees gain hands-on expertise in latest automobile technologies, it added. By Gunjan Sharma New Delhi, Apr 28 () Students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) have developed low-cost intubation boxes for dealing with COVID-19 patients facing breathing issues and requiring assistance in the form of endotracheal intubation. Intubation is the process of inserting a tube, called an endotracheal tube (ET), through the mouth and then into the airway. It is done so that a patient can be placed on a ventilator to assist with breathing during anaesthesia, sedation or severe illness. The device developed by <keyword id="186684" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIT-Guwahati">IIT Guwahati</keyword> functions as an aerosol obstruction box which can be placed atop the patient's bed on the head-side, limiting the flow of virus-laden droplets from the patient to the doctor, especially during the process of intubation. According to the team, the primary prototype of the design has been completed at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the box is currently being reviewed at major COVID-19 care centres including at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). It will be available at much cheaper price than the ones available at present. "Amid the dearth of PPE such as Powered Air-Purifying Respirators (PARPs) and well-sealed face masks, it becomes essential to complement the use of makeshift acrylic face shields, N95 masks and surgical respirators, with a proper obstruction for aerosol spewed via the mouth and nose of the patient. The intubation box allows having this protection in place by limiting the infection within the box's volume around the patient," Umang Mathur, a B.Tech student at the Department of Bioscience, told "Unlike other PPE, this box works effectively for multiple doctors and nurses serving the patient. While the transparent material allows visual access to the head of the patient inside, the arm-holes on the box allow for the care-provider to perform any necessary tasks including intubation and extubation, which are both processes known to be cough inducing. Further, the boxes are reusable, as they may be cleaned thoroughly with 70 per cent alcohol or bleach, to allow use for the next patient," Umang added. According to Sanchit Jhunjhunwala, a Mechanical Engineering student, based on the feedback received from AIIMS and other COVID-19 health centres, the design will be further optimised for improved efficacy, before the first batch is manufactured in Gurgaon (Haryana). "We have started a crowd funding campaign in order to manufacture these boxes and provide them to government hospitals for free. The campaign raised a record INR 50,000 within six hours of launching," Sanchit said "It is a low-cost alternative to intubation boxes and is easier to manufacture and deliver amid the lockdown. The projected cost per box is INR 2000, which is significantly lower than existing alternatives," he added. The six-member team includes Prateek Manocha and Vrishank Bhardwaj, from department of electrical engineering; Shwetank Panwar from Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering and Vignesh Kumar from Department of Design. The Government-run Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Behrampur has also developed an aerosolbox for intubation process. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 934 and the number of cases climbed to 29,435 in the country on Tuesday, according to the Union Health Ministry. The number of active COVID-19 cases stood at 21,632, while 6,868 people have recovered and one patient has migrated, the ministry said. The total number of cases include 111 foreign nationals.

He said the dual taxsystem proposed in the Budget would benefit charteredaccountants.The TRS member also raised the issue of "step motherly"treatment being given to States in devolution of taxes.Binoy Vishwam (CPI) said the economy is already on"ventilator" and the Budget does not provide any solution toit.He accused the government of selling off national wealthto select private companies.Vishwam said even the BJP-RSS affiliated trade union BMSis opposing the stake sales in the LIC. He also rued thatallocation for MNREGA has been lowered by around Rs 10,000crore.BSP member Veer Singh said the Centre has "ruined" theIndian economy and unemployment is at a 45 year-high. The UPA regime had left the economy in a crisis andfinancial market in a devastating state as scams explodedowing to loans given to 10 groups, he charged. "This nightmare was turned around by our government...Oureconomic management is in sharp contrast to theirs. We havedelivered unprecedented macro economic strength to theeconomy. This is the fact," he said, listing out achievementsof the Modi government in the last six years. However, there were cyclical and structural issues owingto disruptions in global trade, he said and added, "theseare growing pains in any economy and the government willaddress them all."Hitting out at Chidambaram for the doctor remarks, theBJP leader said, "Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government had lefthealth and robust patient (economy) and handed it over to adream team of doctors (Congress) which after ten years left itterminally ill... "But the Modi government revived it although some painremains and that will be addressed. The government will notleave the patient to relapse," he said, adding the Budget 2020is a "careful and prudent" budget. He said the government is off to a good budget start andhopes to achieve the target of USD 5 trillion economy. Criticising the budget, Congress leader Ripun Bora said itwas the "longest budget with shortest expectations" and listedout failures of the present government. He said the government has not set up a mechanism fordoubling of farmers' income. The budget allocation has beenmade only for 100 water stressed villages even though thegovernment's survey had identified 255 villages in 2019. Even on ease of living, the government has not made anyprogress as purchasing power of people has been decliningbesides there is rise in prices of essential items and growingunemployment, he said. Although one cooking gas cylinder is given free under theUjwala Scheme, people are not able to afford subsequentcylinders at such high rates, he said.Bora said a person gets rice at a subsidised rate of Rs3/kg from ration shops but to cook it he needs Rs 45 per litrefor kerosene and over Rs 1,000 per cooking gas cylinder. On Swachh Bharat Mission, he requested the House to senda parliamentary panel to Assam to check the quality of toiletsbeen build under this programme. Most toilets are notfunctional as they are not clean in the absence of water andeven quality of construction is poor. On unemployment, the Congress leader said lowerallocation of Rs 3,000 crore for skill development shows thelevel of government's commitment towards resolving the problemof unemployment in the country.Similarly on developing smart cities, the budgetallocation has been made for only five cities, although 100cities were identified, he said, adding Assam was ignored inthe budget.
