The fake app and website look eerily like the original, which makes it difficult for end users to distinguish between the two. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is a state-owned service that allows users to book rail, air, bus and hotel tickets. The fake IRCTC app for Android smartphones goes by the name ‘irctcconnect.apk’ and is being circulated via WhatsApp and Telegram. Given that it’s very trivial for Android users to manually install an app using an apk file, IRCTC had to issue an advisory to warn users about the fake app. The fake IRCTC app used by hackers to target passengers also has an accompanying website – https://irctc.creditmobile.site – which looks to have been blocked now. “Fraudsters’ aim is to get sensitive net banking credentials, including UPI details and credit/debit card information, from victims who fall prey to the smishing attack,” the IRCTC warning said. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Android safety 101" comment="subhead" text="Android safety 101">Android safety 101</cmsannotation> One of the easiest ways of staying safe while using an Android device is by not clicking on unknown links or installing apps from unknown sources. <ul><li>Newer versions of Android require users to allow app installation from unknown sources to be enabled on a per-app basis. Users are recommended to always install apps from official sources like the Google Play store. </li><li>While clicking on links, ensure that you can determine their authenticity. If you cannot directly verify this, it is recommended that you search for the company’s website. Popular search engines like Google or Bing usually surface the official website as the top search results, so that is another way to make sure to verify the authenticity. </li><li>One of the most common vectors of stealing information and phishing attacks is via one-time passwords – if you receive an OTP without having requested it, simply ignore it and never share it with anyone. </li><li>Users are also recommended to always keep their apps and software up to date. </li><li>Android smartphones also come with app verification via a service called ‘Play Protect’. In a Facebook post, Meta CEO <keyword id="6354630" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mark-zuckerberg" source="Orion">Mark Zuckerberg</keyword> said that as we build for the metaverse, we're focused on unlocking opportunities for creators to make money from their work. "The 30 per cent fees that Apple takes on transactions make it harder to do that, so we're updating our Subscriptions product so now creators can earn more," he posted late on Wednesday. Zuckerberg said that the company is launching a promotional link for creators for their Subscriptions offering.A "When people subscribe using this link, creators will keep all the money they earn (minus taxes). Creators will have more ownership of their audience -- we're giving the ability for them to download the email addresses of all of their new subscribers," he explained. An investigation by The Financial Times has found that Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube lost around $9.85 billion in revenue after Apple introduced App Tracking Transparency (ATT) policy last year. Advertisement technology company Lotame estimated that the four tech platforms lost 12 per cent of revenue in the third and fourth quarters, which roughly translates into $9.85 billion. Zuckerberg said that Meta is also launching a bonus programme that pays creators for each new subscriber they get "as part of our $1 billion creator investment announced this summer". The new iOS App Store policy requires apps to ask permission to track users' data. The policy went into effect in April, barring apps from tracking users if they opt out. Facebook lost the most money "in absolute terms" when compared to other social platforms due to its huge size. "Facebook has the most to lose because the cost of running advertisements on its platform has been increasing for years," the Financial Times report said. Since the introduction of the Apple iOS policy, most users have opted out, leaving advertisers in the dark about how to target them. Zuckerberg has slammed Apple for its App Store policies in the past, saying the iOS privacy changes are negatively affecting its business. "Apple's changes are not only negatively affecting our business, but millions of small businesses, and what is already a difficult time for them and the economy," he said last month. Hit by Apple fees, Facebook offers creators new way to earn money

New Delhi, <keyword id="10591" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Samsung">Samsung</keyword> has released its '<keyword id="10420539" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="gamedriver">GameDriver</keyword>' app that aims at improving the graphical performance of its <keyword id="1500869" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Galaxy-devices">Galaxy devices</keyword>. Users of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series as well as the Note 20 series could now download a new update via the <keyword id="1470391" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Play-Store">Play Store</keyword> and through the 'GameDriver' app, Samsung would roll out hardware driver updates and bug fixes to the devices. "'Game Driver' provides a new way of updating GPU driver by store and this delivers a more stable and better-performing GPU driving for the target games," the company said in a post on its developers' website. To bring out the 'GameDriver' app, Samsung has partnered with Google and GPU vendors, including ARM and <keyword id="104695" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Qualcomm">Qualcomm</keyword>. The update brings some improvements to a small list of games such as Call of Duty: Mobile, Black Desert and Fortnite. The roster of titles should soon expand with developers like Square Enix, Crytek and Deep Silver on board. Samsung isn't the only company to introduce GPU driver updates independent of larger software releases. Earlier this year, Xiaomi and OPPO released apps that allow the companies to roll out GPU driver updates easily. Samsung introduces 'GameDriver' app to boost gaming performance

Yet, a whopping 57% of the seats go vacant. Few years ago two ex-<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=IBM">IBM</a> engineers felt this had to change. 
 “We researched the railways data for trends and found a pattern. There was a possibility we could predict availability”, Dinesh Kumar Kotha, Co-founder, <keyword id="2935882" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="ConfirmTkt">Confirmtkt</keyword> says. 
 
The duo created an algorithm that considers historical data on key factors like month, holidays, week/weekend, train, type of journey to predict the possibility of you landing a confirmed ticket on the train of your choice. Their new feature ‘Alternates’ rolled out in first half of August claims to increase the chances many-folds. 
 
Mind, users still need to visit <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=IRCTC">IRCTC</a>'s official website or app to complete the booking. However, judging that over 95% Indian rail travelers are middle-class and rail prices are often a third of bus travel and a fraction of airfare, there is no lack of demand for such hacks in the travel industry. 
 
“<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Cleartrip">Cleartrip</a> wanted to redirect to booking to their website. <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Yatra">Yatra</a> wants to use our technology. However, we want to focus on research and development initially. Monetization can wait. ”, Kotha says. 
 
The prediction accuracy was previously 75%. It has jumped to more than 95% as of now. 
 
“We are also working on predicting multi-train/break journeys. Alternative modes of transport can also be added. There are several options”, Kotha says. 
 
When asked if he has a time-frame in mind to monetize, Kotha agrees. “We’re experimenting on the best time to monetize. Our target is a million users. Currently we have around 2.7 lakh”, he says.

The Squad app will shut down on Saturday and the users have already been notified about this. "Excited to share that the @squad team is joining @Twitter to help us bring new ways for people to interact, express themselves, and join in the <keyword id="10419416" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="public-conversation">public conversation</keyword>," Twitter's VP of product, Ilya Brown, said in a tweet on Friday. Squad's talented team "brings a deep understanding of how people participate in interactive audio and video conversations  an important pillar in the spectrum of conversations we're looking to serve on Twitter", Brown added. There were media reports that Twitter may shut down its live-streaming service Periscope after the Squad acquisition for which financial details were not disclosed. Twitter acquires screen-sharing social media app Squad

<ul><li><keyword id="65866" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IRCTC">IRCTC</keyword> to launch special train to attract international tourists from Buddhist countries like Japan, China, Thailand and Sri Lanka. </li><li>The first rake of the train will roll out by the end of October although the train will be functional from December. </li><li>The train’s route will include important Buddhist destinations like Bodh Gaya, Budh Vihar, Sarnath and Kushi Nagar. </li></ul><keyword id="6355455" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="indian-railways">Indian Railways</keyword> are leaving no effort to attract foreign travellers. After launching the Ask Disha app for domestic and foreign travellers, Indian Railways are now targeting tourists from Japan, China, Thailand and Sri Lanka by launching a special train on the <keyword id="6394118" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="buddhist-circuit">Buddhist Circuit</keyword>. The important Buddhist destinations to be connected are Bodh Gaya, Budh Vihar, Sarnath and Kushi Nagar. The ticket fare of the route is yet to be decided. As per media <a href="https://www.financialexpress.com/infrastructure/railways/wonderful-indian-railways-to-launch-special-train-with-world-class-facilities-on-buddhist-circuit/1352656/">reports,</a> the special express train will be managed by Indian Railways Catering and Tourists Corporation (IRCTC). The first route of the train is expected to be decided and kicked off by the of the year. Although, IRCTC will roll out its first rake by the end of October. Presently, the rail coaches are being manufactured in the Rail Coach Factory located at Kapurthala. The second train designed specially for international tourists, inspired by the Maharaja Express, will have 12 coaches. The first rake of the train will constitute four AC first class coaches followed by two second class coaches and one AC 3-tier coach designed specifically for staff. The first rake will also include two power car coaches, a pantry and two coaches for the dining car facility. The train will have a very fancy outer body and top notch facilities for the travellers. Some of the facilities includes digital lockers, venetian windows, decorative lighting, touch-free taps, bio toilets with vacuum evacuation, soap dispensers, CCTV camera, anti graffiti coaching and tea/coffee vending machines.

Well, now you needn’t wonder any more, the railways will soon be live-streaming kitchen proceedings from its base kitchens directly to the Indian Railway Catering &amp; Tourism Corporation (<keyword id="65866" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IRCTC">IRCTC</keyword>) website. Just last <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/india-railways-is-using-ai-driven-surveillance-cameras-to-monitor-its-kitchens/articleshow/64081030.cms">month</a> the railways inaugurated its kitchen monitoring system wherein Artificial Intelligence-enabled high definition CCTV cameras were installed in 16 of the 200 base kitchens, and the live feed of the goings on inside the kitchens would be monitored in a hi-tech surveillance room set up at the IRCTC’s headquarters in <keyword id="66" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi">Delhi</keyword>. Now, rail and coal minister Piyush Goyal has decided to take this a step further and share this feed with everyone. Goyal told <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/now-you-can-track-whats-cooking-at-rail-kitchens/articleshow/64564610.cms">Times of India</a> that passengers will be able to watch the live stream through both IRCTC’s website and an app that the railways is developing. The AI system mentioned above basically uses pre-fed photos of typically ‘acceptable’ proceedings, or standard operating procedure (SOP), and if something out of the ordinary is picked up, it recognises and flags that. For example, if a member of the staff is not wearing the requisite headgear or if there is a rat scurrying about in the kitchen, the camera will detect the same and raise an alarm. A report generated by the system will first go to the contractor who should then take care if the issue. However, if left unaddressed, the report is then sent to IRCTC authorities.
