The death toll has climbed to 4,95,050 with 959 fatalities reported in a span of 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am showed. The active cases decreased by 53,669 to reach 18,31,268 and comprise 4.43 per cent of the total infections, while the country's recovery rate stands at 94.37 per cent, the ministry said. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 15.77 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 15.75 per cent, it said. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease increased to 3,89,76,122, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.20 per cent, the ministry said After the Sunday update, the total number of infections stands at 4,13,02,440, it said. Meanwhile, the cumulative number of anti-Covid vaccine doses administered in the country so far has crossed 166.03 crore. India surpassed the one-crore mark in the number of cases on December 19, 2020, and two crore on May 4 and three crore on June 23 last year. The textured AG glass on the back makes it easy to grip though. Although it is not my usual recommendation, using the V27 Pro without a cover can be enjoyable. Although the smartphone has an impressive design and aesthetic appeal, it lacks certain certifications typically expected in modern devices. For instance, it lacks an official IP rating, making it vulnerable to water damage. The panel measures 6.78 inches and features a gentle 3D `curve at the edges, with a small cut-out for the front-facing camera located at the top. The bezels surrounding the screen are also thin which looks good. In terms of technical specifications, the AMOLED display offers a resolution of 2400×1080 (FHD+). At first, I noticed that the colours on the curved panel appeared somewhat dull with the default settings. However, after tweaking the display settings, I discovered the ideal balance to suit my personal preference. From that point on, the curved panel delivered sharp, accurate, and vivid colours. The display is capable of a peak refresh rate of 120Hz and includes an adaptive refresh rate feature called Smart Switch. This feature automatically adjusts the screen refresh rate between 60Hz and 120Hz based on the content being viewed. However, the implementation of this feature is not always consistent. I would recommend sticking with the 120Hz setting for the best experience. While it may consume more battery power, it's worth for the overall smoothness and reliability, especially when gaming. I've extensively tested the V27 Pro while gaming and the display have been dependable so far. The display is also compatible with HDR10+ content on Netflix. I watched a few movies and TV series and was thoroughly impressed. The display produced excellent clarity, and I could distinguish crisp details. The brightness levels were also aptly adjusted outdoors, and the display remained readable unless the sun was directly overhead. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Stereo speakers missing" comment="subhead" text="Stereo speakers missing">Stereo speakers missing</cmsannotation> It would have been great if Vivo had included speakers that matched the quality of the display. However, the V27 Pro only has a loud, bottom-firing speaker, which doesn't do justice to the display's capabilities. Like most bottom-firing speakers, your hand can easily block it. Despite some bloatware that can be uninstalled, the software feels clean and smooth to navigate, especially with the high display refresh rate. One standout feature of Funtouch is horizontal-screen functionality, allowing you to scroll through menus for certain productivity and business functions. Additionally, the customizable dynamic effects, such as changing animations or ambient light effects, are cool additions. The device's OS offers impressive levels of customization, with options to change themes, app icon sizes, text sizes, and animations. The widgets available are well-executed with Android 13. The chipset is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In terms of performance, the V27 Pro has enough power to handle demanding tasks such as gaming and multitasking. During my gaming session, which involved playing COD: Mobile and Asphalt 9: Legends with maximum graphics settings, the device performed well. I did not experience any lag or frame drops that could ruin the gaming experience. The device was very responsive and connected to the servers instantly. The heat management was promising even after prolonged gaming sessions. <div type="image" title="Vivo V27 Pro" msid="98341603" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;COD on Vivo V27 Pro&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The RAM management on the device is decent, and the 12GB RAM can hold lightweight apps like web browsers and social media apps such as Instagram or Facebook for a long time. The device can hold heavier apps like COD: Mobile halfway. However, with the onboard RAM expansion of 8GB, which adds to the system storage, the performance with heavier apps improved considerably. If you are into gaming, I recommend keeping the RAM extension on. Upon launching a game, the device automatically triggers its Ultra Gaming mode, providing the user with various performance options. However, with more demanding use like playing games, taking photos, using social media, and more, I experienced battery anxiety, and the device didn’t last a day. The device comes with 66W fast charging capability that charges the device in 45 minutes from 0 to 100% with an active internet connection. Similar to other phones, the Vivo V27 Pro features a battery-saving mode that conserves power by disabling background syncing, restricting data usage, and enabling dark mode, among other things. This feature guarantees that the phone can last for an entire day. Reacting to an IANS story on how the bulk WhatsApp API (application programming interface) tools are helping parties and candidates send political messages to the voters' WhatsApp for just 8 to 10 paise per bulk message in a fraction of seconds, the popular mobile messaging platform said that it deeply cares about the online security of its users as well as about preserving election integrity. "WhatsApp has advanced spam detection technology that works round the clock to spot and take action on accounts engaging in automated and bulk messaging, which includes banning such accounts for violating WhatsApp's Terms of Service," said the company spokesperson. In December 2019, the company had said that it will be taking legal action against those who are engaged in or assisting others in abusing the platform by sending bulk or automated messages. It lands in a very competitive market where Chinese counterparts offer more powerful internals and some additional features. While the phone in itself is a good overall package in terms of performance, display and battery, it lacks in some critical areas. One of them is slow charging and no charging brick in the box. While in the same segment, the competitors are now offering 150W charing with charger in the box. So what makes it worthy for your attention? Let’s find out the details in the review. Price Samsung Galaxy A73 5G starts at a price of ₹41,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. With an additional ₹3000, you can upgrade the storage to 256GB at ₹44,999. Galaxy A73 5G Design &amp; Build Quality - Same old. Similar to other models under the A-series, Samsung brings the Galaxy A73 with a similar design and material. The only contrasting difference from its predecessor is the color of the unit. Pleasing to the eye, the mint on this one looks exquisite. The screen is also protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which means it won’t get scratched as easily. It also offers a screen refresh rate of 120Hz. Enriching the experience with smooth visuals while you're playing any media file or scrolling through a web page. It has a stereo speaker setup that supports Dolby Atmos and it does justice to watching content without a pair of external audio devices. The audio output is sufficiently loud and you can count on it for binge-watching a show or a movie. Galaxy A73 5G UI Galaxy A73 5G runs on One UI from Samsung which is both efficient and stable. It only gets distressing with the clutter of bloatware packed in. Falling short of expectation, Samsung does include third party apps which disapprove of the price this device comes at. Apps like Byjus, Josh, Mx Takatak, Moj, and even share chat are pre-installed. Familiarity also means the convenience of generic Samsung features like a lift to wake, navigation gesture switch, and one-handed mode. Another important factor to consider is how Samsung has promised 4 years worth of Android updates on the Galaxy A73 5G. One UI puts me in a tough spot, if you are a Samsung user who wants stability and no major changes then it will be fine for you. If you are a Samsung user who wants to experiment then it limits your endeavor. If you are using some other device and want to switch to Samsung, then you will be impressed. The privacy aspect- The Galaxy A73 is protected with Samsung's Knox security which protects your phone against unfortunate intrusions by enabling you to shift your essential files and apps to a secure folder. Samsung provides you with an in-screen fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature on the Galaxy A73 5G. The fingerprint sensor is snappy and unlocks the phone in a snap, but the case is not favorable for the face unlock. Since the phone relies just on the front camera to apply this safety net, it fails in dark environments and gives up completely if you are wearing a mask. Galaxy A73 5G Performance Samsung Galaxy A73 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset, which breezes through any task thrown at it. Performance-wise, the Galaxy A73 5G provides a consistent result across activities. From binge-watching content or basic everyday tasks like web surfing, using multiple apps are carried out smoothly. Moving to the gaming performance, this chipset is a beast. Booting up speeds were fiery, this is despite opening multiple games one after the other without clearing the memory. I ran the tests with BGMI and Genshin Impact. Running BGMI with extreme FPS, I faced no lags whatsoever. The game ran smoothly and the overall performance was enjoyable. Yes, the phone does warm up after about half an hour of usage, but nothing that will bother you enough to keep it aside. The memory management is passable, as I witnessed it booting games after a few hours from where I left them. Multiple apps running in the background do not affect the speed or hinder the performance. The variant with me comes with 8GB RAM which I found sufficient. As for storage, the 128GB internal capacity will be enough for most of the users, but in case you still want more, you can upgrade to 256GB variant or pop in a microSD card. In the battery department, the 5000 mAh cell lasts well over a day for a light user. This involves mostly calling messaging and casual social media. For a heavy user like me, mileage does take a dip. After a long day of testing, the phone would stand at a solid 10%. Since we don’t get a charger in the box, finding the right brick is important. The Galaxy A73 supports 25W fast charging, so the usual Samsung wall adapter worked for me. I used the 20W Samsung brick and the phone charged from 10-100% in about 1 hour 20 minutes. The fun mode integrates Snapchat’s filters into the camera itself. This does add a fun element to the user experience but you need internet access for it to work. While I am not a big fan of this feature, I am sure it will appeal to a large set of users. Verdict Samsung Galaxy A73 5G finds itself on a tough wicket. Even with every possible feature that you look for in a device in 2022, it’s the price that holds me back from recommending it. Yes, there are options like Xiaomi 11X, and Realme GT Neo 3 which you can consider. But in this case, Samsung itself is undercutting the device with its portfolio. If you want the standard Samsung experience, you can consider Galaxy A53 5G which delivers practically the same performance at a lower price point.
