The stock made its debut at Rs 111.60, up 3.33 per cent from the issue price on the BSE. Later, it climbed 12.40 per cent to Rs 121.40. At the NSE, it listed at Rs 111.50, up 3.24 per cent. The company's market valuation stood at Rs 1,02,211.38 crore during the morning trade. Shares of NTPC climbed nearly 2 per cent to Rs 368.80 on the BSE. The <keyword id="19913114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="initial-public-offering" source="keywords">initial public offering</keyword> of NTPC Green Energy Ltd got subscribed 2.40 times on the closing day of the share sale on Friday. The Rs 10,000-crore share sale had a price band of Rs 102-108 per share. Proceeds from the <keyword id="19898327" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="IPO" source="keywords">IPO</keyword>, about Rs 7,500 crore at the upper band, will be used to repay or prepay part or all of its subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd's (NREL) outstanding loans, and a portion will be utilised for general corporate purposes. NTPC Green Energy is a 'Maharatna' central public sector enterprise with a renewable energy portfolio, including solar and wind power assets.

The initial share sale will open for public subscription on November 22 and conclude on November 26. The bidding for anchor investors will open for a day on November 21, the company announced. The city-based company's proposed IPO is a combination of a fresh issue of 3.87 crore equity shares and an Offer For Sale (OFS) component of 52.68 lakh shares by promoters. Currently, promoters hold over 93 per cent stake in Enviro Infra Engineers. At the higher end of the price band, the IPO is valued at ₹650 crore, placing the company's market capitalization at approximately ₹2,600 crore. Proceeds from the fresh issue to the tune of ₹181 crore will be used to meet the working capital requirements, ₹100 crore will be used for payment of debt, ₹30 crore will be infused into the company's subsidiary, EIEL Mathura Infra Engineers, to build 60 million litres per day Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. Besides, a portion will be used for general corporate purposes. Half of the issue size has been reserved for qualified institutional buyers, 35 per cent for retail investors and the remaining 15 per cent for non-institutional investors. Enviro Infra Engineers is engaged in designing, construction, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants and water supply scheme projects for government authorities/bodies. The treatment process installed by the company at most of the STPs is zero liquid discharge-compliant and the treated water can be used for horticulture, washing, refrigeration, and other process industries. Hem Securities is the sole book-running lead manager of the public issue. The equity shares of the company are expected to be listed on the BSE and NSE on November 29. He added that the marketing team had been more productive, working with half its size compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, Klarna competitor Affirm is also doubling down on AI chatbots — but isn't publicly seeking to cut its staff. "No one has yet to lose their job to be replaced by robot at Affirm, so that's not a short-term cost saving," CEO Max Levchin said on a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/gen-z-prefers-ai-chatbots-phone-calls-affirm-ceo-bnpl-2024-5">May earnings call</a>, adding that AI could save the company money over the next one to three years. <h2>AI shakes up tech staff</h2>Other tech companies are axing staff as they transition to AI-centric businesses. Proceeds from the fresh capital to the tune of Rs 387.44 crore will be used for setting up new processing centres with automation and new fulfilment centres, Rs 73.71 crore for computers and IT equipment, Rs 239.23 crore for enhancing technology, data science capabilities, and cloud infrastructure, and Rs 87.92 crore for payment of debt. Also, the remaining funds will be used for general corporate purposes and potential acquisitions, according to the draft papers filed on Wednesday. The company may consider raising Rs 257 crore through a pre-IPO placement. If such placement is undertaken, the amount raised will be deducted from the total fresh issue size. Ecom Express operates a pan-India express logistics network that handles first-mile pick-up, mid-mile transportation, last-mile delivery, returns, and warehousing services. The market regulator SEBI stated that upbeat secondary markets, enthusiasm from retail investors, and strong institutional flows set the stage for a flurry of new listings. "After a relative moderation during 2022-23, the equity segment witnessed a resurgence in fundraising activity during the current fiscal. The <keyword id="19926041" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="IPO-market" source="keywords">IPO market</keyword> had been vibrant with a total of 272 companies going public as compared to 164 during the last fiscal year," said SEBI. The report also noted that India received the highest <keyword id="20018891" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="foreign-investment" source="keywords">foreign investment</keyword> in the year 2023-24, as the investment surged to a new high of Rs 3.4 lakh crore. It also added that the investment in the year 2023-24 is the highest since the year 1992-93. "Compared to net outflows of Rs 40,936 crore in 2022-23, FPIs invested Rs 3.4 lakh crore in India during 2023-24, which was the highest since 1992-93," said SEBI. SEBI highlighted that Foreign Portfolio Investment and foreign venture capital investment are crucial for emerging economies like India. FY 2023-24 was an exceptional year for India in terms of foreign portfolio investment flows. It added that India's continuing growth resilience, financial stability, reining in of inflation, fiscal consolidation coupled with the persistence of inflation in advanced economies, uncertain geopolitical scenarios, etc., attracted a record level of foreign flows to India. The report noted that in the midst of a subdued global economic scenario with recession risks and monetary tightening, India's economic prospects were bright among emerging markets, driven by a fillip in manufacturing and service sector activities, easing inflation, fiscal consolidation, financial stability, and buoyant <keyword id="20977711" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="market-performance" source="keywords">market performance</keyword>. According to the sector-wise breakup on FPI investment, the report stated that out of the consolidated Rs 64.2 lakh crore equity assets held by FPIs, Rs 18.6 lakh crore were invested in financial services, followed by oil, gas, and consumable fuels (Rs 6.0 lakh crore), information technology (Rs 5.9 lakh crore), and automobile and auto components with Rs 4.8 lakh crore invested.

The report quoted Buch saying, "The normal track (of processing of IPO applications) would be so fast that you won't need fast track." <h2>IPO process in India</h2>In India, the process of filing an <keyword id="19913114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="initial-public-offering" source="keywords">Initial Public Offering</keyword> (IPO) involves several steps. Firstly, the company hires an underwriter or investment bank to guide the process. These financial experts analyze the company's financial health and sign an underwriting agreement detailing the deal, the amount to be raised, and the securities being issued. Next, the company prepares a registration statement and a draft prospectus, known as the Red Herring Prospectus (RHP), as mandated by the Companies Act. This document includes definitions, risk factors, use of proceeds, industry and business descriptions, management information, financial statements, and legal details. The RHP must be submitted to the registrar of companies three days before the public offering and must comply with SEBI regulations. Following this, the company applies to SEBI for IPO approval.
