It expects a 13% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in loan growth for banks between FY24 and FY27, helmed by a supportive environment and expected adjustments in interest rates. "We expect steady growth in earnings and stable returns, Over FY24-27, the banks we cover should see 13% CAGRin loans We factor 25-50 bps cut in rates, &amp; depending on timing, NIMs will move," the report said. Depending on the timing, these rate cuts could impact banks' <keyword id="20076541" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="net-interest-margins" source="keywords">net interest margins</keyword> (NIMs), which measure the difference between interest income generated and interest paid to depositors. The report also notes that banks' net interest income (NII), a critical metric that is reflective of how much a bank earns from its lending, could grow at a steady 12% CAGR, which would support overall earnings growth. <h2>Rate cuts probable next year</h2>Per SBI Mutual Fund's monthly outlook for November 2024, while markets were initially speculating possible rate reductions in December this year or February next year these chances now stand dampened due to two reasons. First, elevated CPI numbers in September, which stood at a nine-month high, underlined the stickiness of food inflation. Secondly, RBI governor Das recently highlighted his hawkish stance at a conference, stating that "rate cuts at this stage would be premature and risky’. The report further adds that February 2025, or even April, would be a better time to discuss repo rate cuts in India. Even <keyword id="19985925" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bank-credit-growth" source="keywords">bank credit growth</keyword> has continued to outpace deposit growth for two years now. However, they seem to be inching closer in the recent past. For instance, in October 2024, while bank credit growth remained at 12.7%, the deposit growth rate followed closely at 11.8%. This also means that banks are witnessing an elevated bank credit-to-deposit ratio, standing at 77% in October. <h2>Risks in unsecured lending </h2>However, Jefferies noted some areas of caution that could influence growth in other revenue streams, particularly fees. Growth in fees may be at risk due to expected declines in the disbursal of unsecured loans, which generally carry higher interest rates and generate higher fees for banks. October saw stress and defaults rising in the unsecured lending space, prompting the RBI to intervene. As a result, unsecured loans by banks have only grown by 12.1%, the lowest since the pandemic. Despite these risks, the report expects banks' return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE) to remain healthy, underscoring the sector's stable profitability potential. The report also highlights that while the Nifty Banks index has risen by 19% over the past year, it has still underperformed the broader Nifty index, which delivered 27% returns in the same period. BSE Bankex has been along similar lines, generating returns worth 19% over one year. While the Nifty banks' index has a YTD (yield to date) of 7.63%, it continues to trail Nifty's YTD of 11.30%

Recent data indicates that the <keyword id="19999655" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Consumer-Price-Index" source="keywords">Consumer Price Index</keyword> (CPI) inflation rose to 5.08 per cent in June 2024, driven primarily by higher food and beverage prices. "CPI inflation is expected to remain below or close to 5.0 per cent in the remaining months, except for Sep'24 and Oct'24" said the report. The report also added that the monsoon season plays an important role in shaping food prices, and while the current monsoon has shown a satisfactory surplus, excess rainfall could lead to crop losses, adversely affecting food inflation. And it has increasingly looked at ways to tailor itself to younger generations.<div type="image" title="Vilnius aerial view with hot air balloons over the top" height="1414" width="2121" msid="113455165" hostid="261" sizebytes="639984"></div>Benkuskas, an older millennial himself, says he's on a mission to attract young professionals from abroad to come and live in Vilnius, and believes that just one visit to the city will be enough to show its appeal."If you spend a week or more here, you can understand that we have a lot of advantages compared with other European cities," he said.<h2 id="547eafc0-acb8-4b87-8296-cc0eee1e34ec">Small city, big advantages</h2><a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/lithuania-happiest-country-young-people-2024-3">The World Happiness Report</a> ranks countries based on a survey conducted by Gallup, where respondents evaluate the quality of their lives.<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="c-link c-link--focus-visible" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/why-lithuania-world-happiest-country-for-gen-z-millennials-education-2024-6">Lithuania's under-30s</a> rated themselves 7.76 out of 10, notably higher than their US counterparts (6.392), with locals citing factors to BI such as low rent, free education, and a vibrant nightlife.Ignas Kazlauskas, a 28-year-old who runs a sustainable architecture firm and previously lived in the UK, told BI that Vilnius holds its own against other European capitals.Vilnius offers a stark contrast to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-things-to-do-london-england-what-to-skip-2024-1">London's hustle and bustle,</a> he said — less densely populated, not overwhelmed by tourists, and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.eea.europa.eu/data-and-maps/daviz/percentage-of-total-green-infrastructure#tab-googlechartid_chart_11">about half the city</a> is made up of green spaces."The city is pretty laid-back, which is nice," he added, sipping a filter coffee at a trendy Old Town café where other patrons sat reading in the sun-drenched courtyard.For a capital city, it's relatively small — about the size of Denver, which means that everything is within easy reach."You can basically walk across the whole center of Vilnius in half an hour," Kazlauskas said.<div type="image" title="Ignas" height="4284" width="5712" msid="113455183" hostid="261" sizebytes="706564"></div>The city's 90-or-so lakes, ideal for kayaking, and some of the largest forests in the country are also nearby. However, many are coming back, with returning Lithuanians <a target="_blank" href="https://123.emn.lt/en/#immigration">representing a quarter of all immigrants</a> last year.Tens of thousands of immigrants from outside the EU, many from Ukraine and Belarus, are also moving to a transformed Vilnius. The mayor and Lithuania's tourism board want others to follow suit.Part of their pitch is that Vilnius, despite rising housing costs, still remains one of <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-find-cheap-accommodation-europe-without-staying-in-hostel-2023-7">Europe's most affordable capitals</a> in which to rent.<a target="_blank" href="https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/databrowser/view/prc_colc_rents__custom_12695593/default/table?lang=en">According to Eurostat</a>, the average monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Vilnius in 2023 was equivalent to $876 — almost half the price of Berlin and about a third the price of London.It can be even cheaper for students. 20-year-old Ričardas Pranculis pays only €65 a month, or about $94, for student accommodation.Even on a student budget, he said he doesn't struggle to make ends meet. "I like living here," he added. "If you are walking, you don't need to worry that somebody will kidnap you or something."On an evening in mid-August, youthful <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/types-of-influencers-on-social-media-micro-macro-nano-classification-2020-1">influencer types</a> lined up outside trendy restaurants, while bars overflowed onto the cobbled streets with businesspeople clinking beer glasses. By April 2021, this figure had risen to 28%. Yet, in August, after he relocated to rural Wyoming and bought a yak farm, only 21.6% of respondents said they were familiar with Star.Star has been an established figure on the internet for more than a decade after originally finding fame on the social media platform MySpace. In 2014 he founded Jeffree Star Cosmetics, and began posting beauty content to his YouTube channel. He originally found fame by making comedic skits, but in recent years rebranded himself as a documentarian and even, to an extent, a beauty YouTuber. In the near term, it’s expected to trade in the 82.2-83 band in spite of recovery attempts, experts say. On Wednesday, the rupee appreciated by 11 paise to 82.69 against the USD dollar in early trade. For the next few days the rupee value is expected to be guided by the dollar index. The dollar index has been up by more than 2% this month over expectations of rates remaining high for a longer period. Most experts now see a 62% chance of rate hike in November 2023 from 42% earlier, says a Bank of Baroda report. The Hawkish commentary of Fed chairman Jerome Powell at the Jackson Hole Symposium did not help. The index has turned volatile in the last two sessions and experts see more of it ahead as a lot of US economic data is expected this week. “The upcoming week holds a flurry of important economic data, including US GDP and Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP) unemployment data, which are likely to contribute to heightened volatility in the market. Traders will closely monitor these data releases for potential market-moving insights,” said Jateen Trivedi, VP research analyst at LKP Securities. Many more factors are expected to influence the dollar index. “In the short term China plays an important role in influencing the Dollar index. China is trying to boost its economy by a different rate cut and stimulus package which support Yuan and limited gains of the US dollar,” says Rahul Kalantri, VP Commodities, Mehta Equities. Domestic factors &amp; INR vs Dollar The rupee has also been tracking the domestic markets which have been in positive territory with FII inflows and even IPO-specific inflows helped prop up the currency value in the last few sessions. “Positive participation in the capital markets by FPIs and FIIs is contributing to the rupee's stability. As such, the rupee's trading range is anticipated to fluctuate between 82.45 and 82.95, with various factors influencing its trajectory," said Trivedi. Crude oil prices are going up due to various factors and that’s been affecting any possible sharp gains on foreign inflows. The crude oil prices are also oscillating amidst supply concerns and demand worries. Brent crude is trading at around $83.6 per barrel, and its upward movements are key to rupee value in a country which is a net importer of crude. In the near-term, the rupee value is expected to fall. “Recovery attempts are in play, but they are expected to be limited to 82.8. If it holds, expect an extended downside to 82.2. Else, expect to get back into the 82.7-83 band again,” said Anand James, chief market strategist at Geojit Financial Services. Kalantri sees support for a rupee at 83.10 against USD. “In the short term, we are expecting USDINR might touch to 82.10 level while for the long term due to the central election this year we might see our rupee depreciate against the dollar which would push the rupee lower towards 83.5 and 84.7 level,” he added.

Influencers have found rapid success and adoration in their niches of the web - many without ever being noticed by the general population - and the tides of popularity can go out as fast as they come in.Insider surveyed 1,105 people to learn about their knowledge and opinions on 99 internet influencers over the first three quarters of 2021.The changes and trends help reveal the new inner workings of online fame.<h2>How being canceled can change your career</h2>The data plotted in Insider's influencer index shows that the more well-known a creator is, the more likely people are to find the influencer "unfavorable."This notion is consistent with a <a href="https://www.insider.com/cancel-culture-youtube-actually-help-a-youtubers-career-2020-12">previous finding from Insider</a>: Getting "canceled" can ultimately be incredibly beneficial for creators, often growing their overall recognition and prolonging their careers.<keyword id="12055193" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="david-dobrik" source="Orion">David Dobrik</keyword>, a Slovakian YouTuber and leader of "The Vlog Squad," gained the most recognizability throughout Insider's three surveys. The <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/carlieporterfield/2020/10/01/david-dobriks-tesla-giveaway-drove-100000-new-voter-registrations-in-one-day/">Tesla-gifter and vlogging star</a> grew a total of 5 percentage points from the beginning of the year to the third quarter of 2021, with nearly 1-in-5 survey respondents telling Insider they were familiar with him.Matching the trend found in the influencer index, while Dobrik's recognizability grew, he also became more unpalatable to many surveyed by Insider. An <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/vlog-squad-durte-dom-rape-allegation-david-dobrik-zeglaitis-video-2021-3">Insider investigation in March uncovered</a> allegations of rape against a former member of Dobrik's Vlog Squad, Dominykas Zeglaitis. One month later, Jeff Wittek, a member of the group, revealed he had <a href="https://www.insider.com/jeff-wittek-eye-injury-david-dobrik-documentary-2021-4">broken his skull</a> while performing a stunt on a crane operated by Dobrik.The allegations against his crewmate and the filming accident seemingly precipitated a drop in Dobrik's "favorability" score of 35 percentage points while also bumping his "unfavorability" score up 11 percentage points throughout 2021.Both Logan and <keyword id="11983009" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="jake-paul" source="Orion">Jake Paul</keyword> were also among the top five most well-known influencers from the survey. In addition to creating YouTube videos and podcasts, each of the brothers have stayed in the public spotlight by moonlighting - and by most accounts, succeeding - as professional boxers.Both have also kept their names in the press via major scandals in their <a href="https://www.insider.com/jake-paul-logan-data-graphs-will-never-be-canceled-2020-12">storied careers</a> - Jake Paul was charged with <a href="https://www.insider.com/jake-paul-charge-looting-video-trespassing-unlawful-assembly-2020-6">criminal trespassing and unlawful assembly</a> after a riot at a mall in Scottsdale, Arizona. <a href="https://www.insider.com/logan-paul-podcast-controversies-drama-reputation-jake-2020-12">Logan Paul</a>, perhaps best known for a scandal involving his video in Japan's "suicide forest," has begun to rebuild his reputation, becoming a Pokemon card collector with the <a href="https://www.dexerto.com/pokemon/logan-paul-claims-he-owns-the-most-expensive-pokemon-card-in-the-world-1592578/">most expensive card</a> in the world.There are, however, a few outliers in the data, such as children's TV star JoJo Siwa and podcasting giant Joe Rogan, who was the most known person named in the survey. The two creators are the only two people in Insider's survey known by more than 15% of respondents who possess a positive "net favorability" score, which shows how well-regarded an influencer is.<h2>Some influencers are more beloved than others</h2>Insider also learned from its polls how favorable each influencer is to a general audience. <a href="https://www.insider.com/piper-rockelle-who-is-youtuber-pink-exploited-how-old-birthday-2021-9">Piper Rockelle</a>, a 14-year-old YouTuber known for challenge videos involving friends, family, and her boyfriend, showcased by far the highest boost in "favorability" of any other influencer surveyed by Insider. She recently made headlines for a feud with the singer, Pink, due to the <a href="https://www.insider.com/piper-rockelle-who-is-youtuber-pink-exploited-how-old-birthday-2021-9#rockelle-denied-that-her-parents-had-exploited-her-after-pink-tweeted-about-photos-of-rockelle-in-a-bikini-6">racy thumbnails</a> on the underage star's videos.<a href="https://www.insider.com/piper-rockelle-youtube-pink-popularity-pictures-instagram-controversy-bikini-2021-9">Rockelle's favorability jumped</a> by 15 percentage points in 2021 - no other influencer grew their favorability more than 5 percentage points.<a href="https://www.youtube.com/c/DoctorMike/featured">Doctor Mike</a>, a YouTuber and medical physician with nearly 7.8 million subscribers, consistently ranked as the most favorable creator on the platform, garnering about 60% favorability in all three quarters of 2021. The doctor uses his platform to post humorous medical-related videos that often draw from his full-time job practicing family medicine.<h2>Online drama can have real-life consequences</h2>Conversely, some influencers became less favorable to audiences throughout 2021.Onision, a YouTuber who first became famous in the first-wave of content creators on the platform for wacky and eclectic sketches, tied with beauty guru <keyword id="12054373" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="james-charles" source="Orion">James Charles</keyword> for the highest boost in unfavorability of all influencers surveyed.Discovery+ released a four-part documentary on <a href="https://www.insider.com/onision-grooming-accusations-explained-controversial-youtuber-exposed-2019-12">Onision</a> in early 2021 detailing his fall from grace after a former fan accused him of grooming. Unlike some creators whose unfavorability ebbed and flowed over the course of the year, Onision consistently became less favorable to American audiences. He was the most unfavorable influencer of all in Insider's survey, with 77% of respondents saying they disliked him.Makeup expert James Charles' unfavorability rose from the winter to the summer at the same rate as Onision, but Charles' is disliked by 20% fewer people. <a href="https://www.insider.com/james-charles-grooming-accusations-denies-predator-tiktok-2021-2">Allegations of grooming</a> arose against Charles in early 2021 after several boys said Charles sexted with them when they were under the age of 18. The YouTuber said he was deceived about some of the boys' ages at the time.
