The global outage has affected various Microsoft services such as Azure, Microsoft 365 and more. Amazon Web Services has also recorded some reports of outages. “We're investigating an issue impacting users ability to access various Microsoft 365 apps and services,” Microsoft said in a statement. "Crowdstrike is actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts. Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted. This is not a security incident or cyberattack. The stock exchange was also experiencing technical problems publishing its spot and forward prices for currencies. "We are aware of issue affecting a subset of customers. We acknowledge the impact this can have on customers, and we are working to restore services for those still experiencing disruptions as quickly as possible,” Mic UK broadcaster Sky News was unable to broadcast, forcing it off the air. American low-cost airline Frontier has cancelled some flights in the US due to the outage. Ryanair, a major European airline reported “third-party” IT issues, which were impacting its flight departures. Microsoft revealed that the outage started around 6 pm ET on Thursday, with some of its customers experiencing issues with Azure services in the Central US. Frontier on Thursday cancelled 147 flights and delayed 212 flights. Berlin airport has warned users of travel delays due to “technical issues.” It’s not just business, several 911 emergency call centres in Alaska have also reported an outage. Airlines in India are raining discounts on domestic and international flights

<keyword id="6354706" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Indigo">IndiGo</keyword>, the low-cost airline headquartered in Gurgaon, has announced a three-day monsoon special sale, under which one can travel across its 39 domestic destinations for as less as Rs 899. Effective from June 12 to 14, 2017 for travel between July 1 and September 30, the flights on select routes including Mumbai-Goa, Jammu-Amritsar, Delhi-Udaipur, Ahmedabad-Mumbai, Chennai-Port Blair, Hyderabad - Mumbai, Kolkata-Agartala, Delhi-Coimbatore and Goa-Chennai would cost you Rs 899 all-inclusive. A press release from the airline said that tickets under the special fares offer will only be available on a first-come-first serve basis and would be non-refundable. "After receiving a positive response on the summer special sale, we are delighted to announce another three-day monsoon special offer. We are anticipating an increase in demand beyond summer vacations and are pleased to introduce special fares," said IndiGo chief commercial officer Sanjay Kumar.

This would be the third listed airline in India after Interglobe Aviation (which operates IndiGo) and SpiceJet (owned by former bureaucrat-turned-businessman Ajay Singh) if the IPO goes through. More than a tenth of that is the money owed to the state-owned Indian Oil Corporation for jet fuel already bought. Just about six months ago, in November 2020, the company's auditors had expressed doubts about the then Go Air's ability to continue its business, the disclosures in the IPO prospectus showed. After that, the company got an emergency credit line from banks in February 2021. That share was down to 7.8% at the end of March 2020. Passenger traffic was still less than half (45%) of what it was before the pandemic struck and about one in every flights were idling in April 2021, according to a report from the broking firm Centrum dated May 5. International crude oil prices are expected to rise and that would mean the cost of jet fuel will also rise, unlike the passenger traffic. And, the impact could get worse if the rupee loses value against the dollar. "Looking at the current climate of subdued demand, a depreciating rupee (impacting 65-70% of costs including fuel), rising ATF (aviation turbine fuel) prices and daily cash burn, we continue to have a negative stance on the aviation industry," a BOBCAPS report dated April 30 said. The aircraft, to be powered by CFM Leap <keyword id="240487" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="engines">engines</keyword>, are scheduled to be delivered in the second half of 2021, a release said. "We are delighted to partner once again with IndiGo as we continue to support our airline customers to finance their aircraft. "This incremental capital expenditure also reflects our disciplined investment strategy throughout the cycle, focused on building a portfolio of latest technology aircraft deliveries," <keyword id="145397" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="BOC-Aviation">BOC Aviation</keyword> Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Robert Martin said. According to the Q3 FY21 earnings presentation, IndiGo had 287 aircraft in its fleet at the end of December 31, 2020. Of these, 272 were on operating lease, while the remaining 15 were owned/finance lease. "We are pleased to further strengthen our existing relationship with BOC Aviation. The addition of these eight A320 neo aircraft demonstrates our confidence in the future growth of the aviation market in India," said Riyaz Peermohamed, Chief Aircraft Acquisition and Financing Officer, IndiGo. With a fleet of 284 aircraft at present, the airline is operating over 1,100 daily flights, connecting to 60 domestic and six international destinations.
