With an expired tourist visa, he doesn’t even seek help from the authorities, fearing arrest. The Libyan agent with whom he travelled from Libya to Malta is demanding Rs 2 lakh to send him to Italy, which his father can’t arrange. 
 
He is now being forced to go to <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/military-defense/syria-threatens-scud-missile-strikes-if-israeli-airstrikes-continue/articleshow/57857704.cms">Syria </a>where he would be working in an arms factory, even though he plans to cross the sea and reach Italy.

Landing in Malta, they can’t even have proper jobs because of tourist visas. A rigid bureaucratic centre doesn’t help, and many such boys are stuck in detention centres after getting arrested.

"Owing to its easy connectivity with big European countries, many unscrupulous agents are using this route for human trafficking. I currently know cases of two Punjabi youths stuck in Malta. They are in a pitiable condition and want to come back. Many Punjabi youths are stuck there, but we do not have any way to contact them," Amanjot Kaur Ramoowalia, co-founder of HelpingHapless, told TNN.

After visiting multiple countries now, it’s <keyword id="41896" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Iran">Iran</keyword> who is hopeful. Iran hopes that the Indian PM will visit Tehran to draw up a joint strategy over geo-political challenges and set up joint ventures worth billions of dollars in the petrochemicals, fertiliser and surface transport sectors. 
 As per the media reports, Iranian Ambassador <keyword id="2017413" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gholam-Reza-Ansari">Gholam Reza Ansari</keyword> has already sent an invite to PM Modi. "We hope that it materializes soon to give the required impetus to bilateral ties and to firm up a strategic partnership," Ansari said, adding that Modi and Iranian President <keyword id="1753604" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hasan-Rouhani">Hasan Rouhani</keyword> had a "useful meeting" in the Russian city of Ufa on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. 
 
Praising India’s efforts for extending help to Iran during the sanctions regime, which is now coming to an end with an agreement on Tehran's nuclear program, Ansari said, “It has brought us together. India opened a credit line which helped in easing economic pressure on the regime," adding that India's dues of $8 billion can be utilized for setting up major developmental projects in Iran. 
 "A great potential of cooperation exists between India and Iran. Iran offers access to India through the Chahbahar and Bandar Abbas ports and through the north-south corridor to Central Asia, Afghanistan, <keyword id="6358826" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Russia">Russia</keyword>, the Caucasus region and even Turkey,” he added.

The envoy assured that every effort would be made to engage with the kingdom and remove its misgivings. 
 "The nuclear accord is a great historic development. This development has taken place when the regional political and security situation has worsened. Afghanistan, <keyword id="6354913" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Syria">Syria</keyword>, Yemen and Libya are in turmoil. It has been proved that military means have offered no solution to the crisis in the Middle east and other regions. The need of the hour is to face the threat of the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=ISIS+">ISIS </a>(Islamic State), which is erasing borders and trying to create a Calaphite regime. We need strong determination as well as cooperation to eliminate this menace," the envoy said. 
 
On Syria, he said that Russia and the United States, along with Iran, are drawing up a new plan to end civil war in the country. "One-third of the Syrian population has fled to neighboring nations. It is time to solve this issue realistically," he said, adding: "The new plan is likely to be placed before the UN very shortly."

Iran invites Indian PM Modi to enhance strategic partnership

A man who is suspected to be an <keyword id="6357143" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="ISI">ISI</keyword> agent and was arrested from Meerut on Friday has told the <keyword id="6367135" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="special-task-force">Special Task Force</keyword> detectives that Pakistan’s intelligence service ISI works very much like <keyword id="2133301" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Islamic-State-of-Iraq-and-Syria">Islamic State of Iraq and Syria</keyword> (<keyword id="174501" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="ISIS">ISIS</keyword>), the extremist militant group. 
 
The man identified as Mohd Aijaz was caught from Bareilly where he lived in disguise has told interrogators that he was sent to Bangladesh, from where he was illegally sent to India after his handlers kept his passport. Reportedly, ISIS recruiters are known to burn passports of their new joinees before sending them to missions. 
 As per the officials from <keyword id="48997" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="STF">STF</keyword>, he said the ISI recruiters had promised him that they would get his sister married and provide financial help to his family. However, they took a U-turn and never fulfilled their commitment, not in the past three years. 
 
"He was given a nine-month training and was perfectly conditioned for the job before he was sneaked into India. He is making such statements to gain sympathy of interrogators. His family includes five brothers and three sisters and one of his brothers, as per his disclosure, is employed with the British High Commission in Pakistan," DSP (STF) Anit Kumar told TOI. 
 
He further stated, "Even when STF sleuths were on his trail, he being a deft computer professional gave little chance to us record his conversation with his handlers in Pakistan. After exchanging pleasantries over phone, they used to switch to Skype through which they used to talk for hours. Since it is not possible to track conversation on Skype, we could not get hold of the contents of these conversations."

The Iranian supertanker detained by Britain over accusations that it was transporting oil to Syria has reportedly been released

India continues to be the largest country of origin of international migrants with a 17.5 million-strong diaspora across the world, and it received the highest remittance of USD 78.6 billion from Indians living abroad, the UN migration agency said. The International Organisation for Migration said in its 'Global Migration Report 2020' that the number of international migrants in 2019 is now estimated at 270 million and the top destination remains the US, at nearly 51 million. In its latest global report, the IOM noted that the overall figure represents just a tiny fraction of the world's population, although it is a 0.1 per cent increase on the level indicated in its last report, published two years ago. "This figure remains a very small percentage of the world's population (at 3.5 per cent), meaning that the vast majority of people globally (96.5 per cent) are estimated to be residing in the country in which they were born," IOM's Global Migration Report 2020 said. According to the UN agency, more than half of all international migrants (141 million) live in Europe and North America. An estimated 52 per cent are male, and nearly two-thirds of all migrants are looking for work; that's around 164 million people. India continued to be the largest country of origin of international migrants. It had the largest number of migrants living abroad (17.5 million), followed by <keyword id="3746" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mexico">Mexico</keyword> (11.8 million) and <keyword id="1334" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="China">China</keyword> (10.7 million). The top destination country remained the United States (50.7 million international migrants). The report also noted that international remittances increased to USD 689 billion in 2018. The top three remittance recipients were India (USD 78.6 billion), China (USD 67.4 billion) and Mexico (USD 35.7 billion). The United States remained the top remittance-sending country (USD 68.0 billion) followed by the United Arab Emirates (USD 44.4 billion) and <keyword id="50996" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Saudi-Arabia">Saudi Arabia</keyword> (USD 36.1 billion). Although most migrants travelled to the US, the report confirmed other important migration corridors from poorer countries to richer nations such as those to France, <keyword id="6358826" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Russia">Russia</keyword>, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. "This pattern is likely to remain the same for many years into the future, especially as populations in some developing subregions and countries are projected to increase in coming decades, placing migration pressure on future generations", IOM said. In Africa, Asia and Europe, most international migrants stay within their regions of birth, but the majority of migrants from Latin America and the Caribbean and North America do not. Focusing on the Middle East, data showed that Gulf countries have some of the largest numbers of temporary labour migrants in the world, including the United Arab Emirates, where they make up almost 90 per cent of the population. Highlighting how ongoing conflicts and violence in Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Myanmar, <keyword id="294553" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="South-Sudan">South Sudan</keyword>, Syria and <keyword id="44789" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Yemen">Yemen</keyword> have led to massive internal displacement in the last two years, IOM's Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre said that a total of 41.3 million people were forced to flee their homes at the end of 2018 - a record since monitoring began in 1998. Syria has the highest internally population of displaced people, at 6.1 million, followed by Colombia (5.8 million) and the Congo (3.1 million).
