New Delhi: The <keyword id="19895345" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="supreme-court" source="keywords">Supreme Court</keyword> on Wednesday said it will hear on September 17 the appeal of US-based creditor Glas Trust Company LLC against a judgment of the <keyword id="19916400" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nclat" source="keywords">NCLAT</keyword>, which had stayed insolvency proceedings against ed-tech firm BYJU's and approved its Rs 158.9 crore dues settlement with the <keyword id="19901245" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bcci" source="keywords">BCCI</keyword>. A bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra was urged by a battery of lawyers that the plea be heard urgently keeping in mind the subsequent developments in the case. The plea was mentioned by senior advocate NK Kaul, appearing for the ed-tech major, that the case needed to be heard at the earliest. The submission was supported by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the BCCI, and senior lawyer Abhishek Singhvi, also appearing for the ed-tech firm. Kaul said another plea in the case has also been filed and that is listed for hearing on September 17 and hence, the present plea be either heard on that day or the hearings in both the cases be advanced to this Friday. "We will hear both the pleas on September 17," the CJI said. Senior advocate Shayam Divan, appearing for the US-based creditor, said let the matters be heard together on September 17. Earlier on August 22, the bench had refused to pass an interim order to ensure that the committee of creditors (CoC) does not hold any meeting in pursuance of the insolvency proceedings against the embattled ed-tech firm. It had listed the plea for a final hearing on August 27. The bench had said the developments, which may take place in the meantime, can be negated if it finds there was no merit in the appeal of the US-based creditor against the judgment of appellate insolvency tribunal NCLAT. The plea was mentioned earlier also on August 20 by Byju's and the BCCI and the top court had then also refused to pass an interim order to restrain the Insolvency Resolution Professional (IRP) from constituting a committee of creditors (CoC) in the insolvency proceedings against the ed-tech firm. In a major setback to Byju's, the top court had on August 14 stayed the verdict of NCLAT, setting aside the insolvency proceedings against the ed-tech major and approving its Rs 158.9 crore dues settlement with the Indian cricket board. The August 2 verdict of the NCLAT had come as a huge relief for Byju's as it had effectively put its founder Byju Raveendran back in control. The top court, however, had prima facie termed the NCLAT verdict as "unconscionable" and stayed its operation while issuing notices to Byju's and others on the appeal of the ed-tech firm's US-based creditor against the judgment of the insolvency appellate tribunal. The case stemmed from Byju's default on a Rs 158.9 crore payment related to a sponsorship deal with the BCCI. The top court had directed the BCCI to keep a sum of Rs 158 crore it had received from Byju's after a settlement in a separate escrow account till further orders. "Issue notice. Pending further orders there shall be a stay of the impugned order of August 2 of NCLAT. In the meantime, BCCI shall maintain the amount of Rs 158 crore, which shall be realised in pursuance of a settlement, in a separate escrow account until further orders," the bench had said. The NCLAT had approved the Rs 158.9 crore dues settlement with the BCCI and set aside the insolvency proceedings against Byju's. Byju's had entered into a "Team Sponsor Agreement" with the BCCI in 2019. Under the agreement, the ed-tech firm got exclusive rights to display its brand on the Indian cricket team's kit and some other benefits. Byju's had to pay a sponsorship fee. The company met its obligations till the middle of 2022 but defaulted on subsequent payments of Rs 158.9 crore. After insolvency proceedings were initiated, Byju's entered into a settlement with the BCCI. On July 16, the Bengaluru bench of the <keyword id="19902197" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="national-company-law-tribunal" source="keywords">National Company Law Tribunal</keyword> (NCLT) had admitted 'Think and Learn', Byju's parent company, to the insolvency resolution process on a plea filed by the BCCI over default in payment of outstanding dues of almost Rs 158.9 crore. While suspending the board of the ed-tech firm, the NCLT had appointed an interim resolution professional to run the operations of the company, suspended the company's board of directors, and brought it under moratorium by freezing its assets. The US-based lenders suspected that the settlement amount was being diverted from the credit they had extended to Byju's.

Supreme Court agrees to list plea related to insolvency proceedings against ed-tech firm Byju's

Prime Minister <keyword id="19895781" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="narendra-modi" source="keywords">Narendra Modi</keyword> urged CEOs of US majors to take advantage of India's growth story as the country is making all efforts to become the third largest economy of the world in his third term. Addressing CEOs of the large US tech firms on Sunday, Modi said India will make every effort to become the third largest economy in the world in his third term (2024-29). Companies should take advantage of India's growth story for collaboration and innovation by co-developing, co-designing, and co-producing in India for the world, harnessing the opportunities from the country's economic and technological growth, he said. Assuring the business leaders of India's deep commitment to the protection of intellectual property and to fostering tech innovation, Modi highlighted the economic transformation happening in the country, particularly in electronics and information technology manufacturing and semiconductors. Modi asserted that his government was committed to making India a "global hub of <keyword id="20073013" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="semiconductor-manufacturing" source="keywords">semiconductor manufacturing</keyword>". Well, globally, not just the new-age start-ups, but dozens of major corporations have embraced this trend and trimmed their middle management. <h2>Managers managing managers — no more!</h2>In January last year, <keyword id="399907" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="META" source="Orion">Meta</keyword> CEO Mark Zuckerberg made headlines for declaring 2023 as the “year of efficiency” and saying that he doesn’t want a management structure that's just “managers managing managers”. <div type="image" title="Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg" agency="ANI" msid="113256403" hostid="261"></div> The same month, it was also reported by Command Line that Meta's chief product officer Chris Cox, had shared a post on the company's communication platform, Workplace, highlighting the necessity to "flatten" the organisation's structure. Therefore, for some, it’s not about firing the middle management, but just another leadership philosophy on how leaders (and ‘bosses’) should conduct themselves. This approach advocates bosses working along with the team as a part rather than shouting instructions from the top. Whatever one’s understanding, this trend of “Unbossing” appears to be taking corporate America by storm in 2023, as evidenced by hundreds of media reports highlighting the same. Overall, most agree that the trend is restructuring organisational hierarchy to enable direct communication between employees and leaders. Cut to 2024, this trend is still prevalent and making headlines. A Bloomberg report recently said that Georges Elhedery, the incoming CEO of HSBC Holdings, might also consider plans to streamline the company's operations by reducing layers of middle management. But what’s the scenario in India? Are Indian companies ready to ditch the old-school approach and adopt this new way of working? Let’s dive in and see what the experts have to say! <h2>Layoffs to impact senior professionals: Naukri.com survey</h2>A survey by job portal Naukri.com early last year had suggested that recruiters in India expect a decline in layoffs during the first half of 2023. The survey, which included responses from 1,400 recruiters and consultants across ten industries, revealed that only 4 percent of participants anticipated layoffs to be the main focus of hiring activities within their organisations. However, the survey also highlighted that information technology roles and senior professionals were likely to be the most affected by hiring adjustments. About 20 percent of recruiters predicted that layoffs would predominantly impact senior professionals, while freshers are expected to face the least disruption from these hiring corrections. Interestingly the survey came around the same time when the Unbossing trend had begun picking up pace abroad. <h2>Layoffs at Wipro, <keyword id="18635" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="amazon" source="Orion">Amazon</keyword> and Collegedunia</h2>In January this year, Wipro India was in the limelight for laying off hundreds of its mid-level executives. The company reportedly culled many jobs as part of its strategy to improve margins. An ET report citing two sources familiar with the situation had said that the leading Indian IT firm reduced mid-level roles at its onsite locations. "Notices began being issued earlier this month, and hundreds of mid-level executives onsite are being let go," one source revealed. Another source added, "They have costly resources onsite in Capco, and although growth is returning, it's not sufficient. Aparna Iyer, Wipro's chief financial officer, has been tasked with delivering better margins this quarter." <div type="image" title="Amazon decided to lay-off middle managers in May" msid="113256170" hostid="261"></div>Then in May, Amazon also decided to reduce layers of middle management within its customer service divisions as part of an organisational restructuring, a Fortune report had said. The cuts impacted over 100 customer service managers in Level 5 and Level 6 middle management roles, both in call centres and virtual positions, primarily based in the U.S. and India. Not just large tech companies, startups too seem to be adapting the <keyword id="23125775" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="unbossing-trend-in-India" source="Orion">unbossing trend in India</keyword>. Last month, educational portal Collegedunia confirmed that around 100 employees from its Study Abroad department had been given the pink slip. A report in CNBC-TV18 had said that additional job cuts were happening across other departments as part of a broader reorganisation. The restructuring, as per the report, was aimed at automating many tasks to reduce costs. Interestingly, despite the layoffs, Collegedunia had posted 13 job openings on LinkedIn for various roles in different locations, primarily entry-level positions requiring up to two years of experience. "While Collegedunia is laying off several employees, it is also hiring fresh talent, allowing them to keep staffing levels up but at a lower cost," one employee told CNBC-TV18 at the time. Another source confirmed that while Collegedunia had been actively recruiting for some months, it has also been letting go of employees, including senior staff members with 7-8 years of experience at the company. <h2>What do experts say?</h2> <div type="image" title="Experts&amp;#39; opinion on unbossing trend" msid="113256250" hostid="261"></div>Mr. Sumit Kumar, Chief Strategy Officer at TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship, told Business Insider India, “From the perspective of HR leaders and CEOs, the strategic culling of middle management is viewed as a means to streamline operations, reduce overhead, and foster a culture of autonomy and innovation.” He also noted that even though employees can “exercise greater ownership and agility in decision-making” through this approach, there are also significant downsides. “The erosion of middle management creates a vacuum in leadership development, mentorship, and the retention of institutional knowledge, potentially leading to disengagement, a weakened talent pipeline, and misalignment with organisational objectives,” Kumar noted. Talking specifically about the Indian scenario, he said, “Implementing this trend in India would be a strategic move, positioning organisations to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving business environment. However, to fully capitalise on this approach, developing a more robust talent pipeline that integrates the ability to multitask at all levels is imperative. In today's landscape, leadership demands thinkers, strategic visionaries, and individuals who can execute with precision. We need to cultivate a new breed of leaders who are both thinkers and doers, capable of navigating complex challenges while driving innovation and growth. By building versatile, agile leaders through targeted talent development programs, Indian organisations can ensure they are well-prepared to thrive in a decentralised, high-performance environment.” RP Yadav, Chairman and Managing Director of Genius Consultants Limited, told ET recently that the Unbossing approach simplifies hierarchies and encourages open communication between frontline employees and senior management. He had added that the concept of “the oldest in the room is always the wisest of all” is no longer applicable. Meanwhile, Aditya Narayan Mishra, MD and CEO of CIEL HR Services told ET that the unbossing trend is predominantly seen in tech companies, creative roles, and startups, where swift decision-making and the unrestricted exchange of ideas are crucial. For example, the tech sector often thrives with flattened hierarchies that support rapid innovation and agility, while creative industries such as advertising and media use unbossing to cultivate a more collaborative and idea-focused environment. Thus, the unbossing trend is gaining traction beyond global companies and is finding its way into Indian organisations as well. While this approach can streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance agility, experts caution that it also brings challenges, such as gaps in leadership development and the loss of institutional knowledge. To fully harness the benefits of unbossing, Indian companies must focus on cultivating agile leaders who can navigate complex challenges and drive growth. By building a strong talent pipeline and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, Indian organisations can position themselves to thrive in a more decentralised and dynamic business environment. Professional networking platform LinkedIn on Tuesday released the 2024 Top Companies list for India wherein <keyword id="6357647" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="it-companies" source="Orion">IT companies</keyword> bagged the top three ranks, while <keyword id="6354241" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="financial-services" source="Orion">financial services</keyword> firms dominated the list with 9 out of 25 companies from this sector. The 8th edition has derived insights from LinkedIn data, and lists the top 25 large companies, 15 best mid-size companies, and provides insights on in-demand skills, top locations, and the largest job functions within these companies. Amongst large companies (500+ employees in India), Tata Consultancy Services retained its top spot this year, followed by Accenture and Cognizant. Continuing the trend from last year, financial services dominated the 2024 list with 9 out of 25 companies from this sector including Macquarie Group (4th place), Morgan Stanley (5th), and JPMorgan Chase and Co (6th), LinkedIn said. Software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform Lentra ranked first on the list of top mid-size companies list (250-500 employees), followed by Indian online travel platform MakeMyTrip. The list also featured fashion and beauty retailer Nykaa and fantasy sports platform Dream11, showcasing the wide range of opportunities available in diverse industries for job seekers in India. "The in-demand skills that the top companies are looking for in the financial services sector include investor relations, capital markets, and investment banking. Companies in the technology sector are looking for skills such as enterprise software, data storage technologies, software development life cycle (SDLC), and artificial intelligence (AI)," the data revealed. Revenue analysis, nonprofit management, and mobile application development are some of the other skills that are witnessing a surge in demand, it added. Silicon valley of India, Bengaluru was named the top location where these top companies are based and looking to hire talent, followed by Hyderabad, Mumbai Metropolitan Region, and Pune. LinkedIn said the ranking of companies is based on eight pillars that have been shown to lead to career progression such as the ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity, educational background, and employee presence in the country.

We grew up together in <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/visit-india-2016-3">New Delhi, India</a>. Our parents were friends.Fast forward to 2016, Rishi was living with my brother in New York City, and we reconnected.Rishi: After I graduated college, I worked in event management. Two years later, I pivoted and started working for a tech startup where I was leading <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-double-dip-work-two-jobs-2023-9">quality assurance.</a>I liked the creative aspect of getting to work with different companies. But my <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tech-worker-left-job-opened-natural-wine-bar-brooklyn-2024-11">work was very monotonous</a>. It got boring. And I didn't like being behind a desk for 10 to 13 hours a day.Avi: I went to college at Emory in Atlanta. My peers were entering one of three fields: finance, marketing, or consulting. The thing that intrigued me most was consulting because of its <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-get-hired-top-consulting-firms-bcg-mckinsey-pwc-2024-7">problem-solving nature. </a>I took a job at a consulting firm that would allow me to move to New York City. Reality hit pretty quickly with regard to what you actually do as a business analyst at a consulting firm. It was 80 hours a week sitting on Excel and PowerPoint, building models, and putting together decks. I didn't feel like I got to see any of my work being implemented. I had a hunger to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/six-figure-consulting-job-not-fulfilling-quit-start-business-2024-11">make more of an impact.</a>Rishi: When I reconnected with Avi, we were both in a position where we didn't know what we wanted to do with our lives. We didn't like where we were at. We didn't want to go through life like that, so we started talking about what would happen if we followed our dreams.<h2 id="891d925d-e92d-4743-9282-ab8459339509">We wanted to go into food and beverage</h2>Avi: Growing up in India, food was a big part of our social and familial interactions. That's where the love started.We knew how <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/restaurants-america-eating-out-crisis-your-fault-labor-shortage-tipping-2024-2">difficult the industry</a> was, but we were still fairly young, so we just said let's give it a shot. In the worst-case scenario, we can always come back to our desk jobs.Rishi: I started working as a dishwasher, busser, server, and then manager at an Indian restaurant to gain experience while we came up with our concept.Avi: It was definitely a risky move. Coming from Asian households, we were guided toward a more <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/modern-career-path-2018-7">traditional career path</a>. I had to present my dad with a full business plan and pitch the bar to him. But we had done our market research and knew we had a good idea.We wanted Sama Street to be based on our upbringing and experiences. Maybe you need to be dressed a certain way, or you're afraid to be loud with your friends. We wanted to create a space where, whether you're wearing sweatpants or coming in on a date night, you are welcome and treated equally.That's where the name comes from. Sama is from the Sanskrit word meaning true equality to all beings.We were looking for a head bartender and posted an ad on Craiglist. That's how we met David. He helped us realize our vision.David: I was working as a general manager at the time, but wanted to get back behind the bar. I saw the ad and skipped over it a few times because they seemed pretty green. But my wife convinced me to call them. We talked for an hour and a half and just clicked right away. We had all the same sort of ideas about hospitality.<h2 id="88091082-fd0e-4bc0-9939-3fbe42de37fc">We opened Sama Street in 2019</h2>David: We learned so much during that process. We <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/changes-restaurants-pandemic-qr-codes-self-service-kiosks-2024-10">survived the pandemic.</a>Avi: It was rough. We celebrated our one-year anniversary over FaceTime. But Sama Street is in Greenpoint, a very close-knit neighborhood, so our regulars showed up for us. The other bars and restaurants did, too. There was a lot of <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-its-like-to-eat-restaurant-outdoor-dining-nyc-pandemic-2020-6">local industry support.</a>We basically did everything that we were <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/new-york-restaurants-are-struggling-2020-12">legally able to do</a> to get as many people drinks and food during the lockdown.We're definitely still feeling the ripples of COVID, but it was a great learning experience and taught us that anything can change overnight, and you have to be able to pivot.<div type="image" title="four craft cocktails" height="5464" width="8192" msid="115385469" hostid="261" sizebytes="2130388"></div>I still get worried about financial security some days. As an entrepreneur, you can't pay yourselves unless the business is doing well.<h2 id="e8d53f13-0f83-4bae-9d07-d009ad306ed7">We knew we wanted to expand</h2>David: We searched and searched and searched and came across a spot in Hell's Kitchen and fell in love immediately.Avi: We opened Monkey Thief in October.David: It was very fast. We didn't have to do a lot with the space, mostly cosmetic changes and getting staff trained. The fast opening was good for our pocketbooks but also very high stress. We've all been doing 18-hour days for the last two months.Rishi: We couldn't have asked for a better opening. We've had so much support from the neighborhood, and our regulars from Sama Street have come in to see the new concept.David: It's been a learning curve because it's <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/restaurant-owners-how-to-run-a-successful-profitable-small-business-2023-10">bigger than Sama Street. </a>But it's a good problem to have. We've got people waiting outside to come in.Rishi: Hopefully, we will open a couple more spaces in the future.Avi: One of the things I love about this industry is that every day is different, though not necessarily in a good way. You might walk in and see the AC has stopped working or the gas is turned off. It's never boring.David: This is not an industry for everyone. The reason we've been successful is that we love coming to work every day. We love the chaos. We love the community.

We left stable careers in tech and consulting to open a cocktail bar in New York City. It was professionally risky but worth it.

Tech innovations, AI changing the game for modern sports, training methodologies

<ul><li><keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="keywords">India</keyword>’s top IT sector companies have reduced their headcount by 75,000 in the last one year.</li><li>New GCCs setting-up operations in India might have hired a similar number of <keyword id="19913553" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tech" source="keywords">tech</keyword> talent, say experts.</li><li>Even with renewed hiring, IT sector hiring as a whole suffered even as software product company hiring went down in the last 12 months.</li><li>In 2024, hiring intent in the IT sector increased only 3%, even as overall hiring intent is at 19%, says Taggd. </li></ul>Headcount in the top IT services firms in India is down by 75,000 in the last one year. However, experts say that there is no large-scale furore over joblessness in the system due to the extensive hiring undertaken by global capability centers (GCCs). Many new GCCs are setting-up shop in India, which is giving a much-needed push to sluggish tech talent intake by IT services companies. Six out of eight IT bellwethers like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, LTI Mindtree, Cognizant and Tech Mahindra saw their headcount go down in the last 12 months, as per Xpheno, a staffing services company. 2022. “The calendar year of 2024 too has begun with a rollback of headcounts to a pre-two year level, in what is clearly a cycle of sustained adversities the IT services cohort is dealing with,” said Kamal <keyword id="20519296" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="karanth" source="keywords">Karanth</keyword>, co-founder of Xpheno. GCCs: The bright spot It’s not just IT services companies are cutting down hiring, job demand in software companies saw massive drop along with startups. But there is one bright spot in the tech market which is GCCs. “GCCs had recruited similar numbers (around 60,000) in the last one year, and that’s why we do not see a bloodbath on the streets. Around 100-110 GCCs set-up shop in India in the last two years, and 60 of them came in the last one year itself,” Karanth tells Business Insider India. GCCs are international companies which set-up shop in India, which takes care of activities like business support functions, back-office tasks, IT infrastructure and more. Since they kick-off operations, most of them hire anywhere between 500-2,000 people. GCCs have now become one of the six top sectors which hire tech talent that includes IT services companies, software product companies, startups, consulting firms and non-tech sectors which hire tech talent. GCCs, IT services and software product companies are the three sectors which hire techies in large numbers “Among the three, only GCCs will continue to hire in 2024, while IT services and software product companies will see at least two muted quarters ahead,” says Karanth. Going by their enthusiastic uptake of office spaces, they seem to be intent on hiring in large numbers. As per a Colliers report, office space uptake of around 30 mn square feet with large deals (of over 100,000 sq ft) have shown an impressive 24% annual growth in 2023. Almost 40% of the large deals in the top six cities have come from GCCs, particularly from technology and BFSI sectors. “More than half of the large GCC deals achieved closure in the last quarter of 2023, indicating renewed momentum in GCC activity in the country. Large pool of talent, cost-effective rentals, adequate Grade A developments and favorable office market ecosystem will continue to uphold India’s vantage positioning from a capability centre perspective,” said <keyword id="20454099" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vimal-nadar" source="keywords">Vimal Nadar</keyword>, senior director and head of research, Colliers India. Tech hiring to remain sluggish With only one of its sub-sectors keen on hiring, the IT sector’s recruitment outlook as a whole has come down. As per a report by Taggd, the IT sector’s hiring intent for 2024 increased by 3%. The overall hiring intent across all the sectors however increased 19% for the current calendar year. During that period, the US and Europe slapped sanctions on Russian oil to defund Putin's military machine and punish Moscow for attacking a sovereign nation.Despite that, India purchased an estimated $37 billion of Moscow's oil in 2023 — 13 times the amount it bought annually prior to the conflict. Indian software-as-a-service (SaaS) company <keyword id="4621694" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="freshworks" source="Orion">Freshworks</keyword> has laid off nearly 90 employees, or 2 per cent of its total workforce, citing rough global conditions behind the move. The company's Founder and CEO Girish Mathrubootham told employees in an email that this is not a company-wide layoff but "a structural change". "In all the changes we undertook we have deployed and retained the majority of our teammates, however a few around 2 per cent of 5,200 people or approximately 90 employees for whom we do not have a readily available open position," Mathrubootham wrote in the email. The CEO said that Freshworks will help impacted employees by providing them healthcare coverage and outplacement services. "While we have reported a strong quarter, we are not immune to this slower economy. While new businesses picked up, expansion slowed down even as we reduced our growth forecasts and headcount needs," he wrote. Freshworks joins a growing list of tech companies that have laid off employees amid global macro-economic conditions. The Nasdaq-listed firm was valued at $12.2 billion after it opened 21 per cent above the initial offering price of $36 apiece in September last year. Mathrubootham, in interviews with media outlets, highlighted that the IPO created a lot of wealth for its employees as more than 500 of its employees turned crorepatis (millionaires). He further added that about 70, of these 500 employees, are under the age of 30. The company was valued at $3.5 billion when it raised $150 million funding from investors like <keyword id="122716" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sequoia-capital" source="Orion">Sequoia Capital</keyword>, CapitalG and Accel in November 2019. Founded by Mathrubootham and <keyword id="2167964" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="shan-krishnasamy" source="Orion">Shan Krishnasamy</keyword> as Freshdesk in Chennai in 2010, the company started its journey as a helpdesk software for customer support. It decided to rebrand itself to Freshworks in June 2017 to incorporate the company's growing software suite.
