What's tiny, flies at 120kph and can perform acrobatics in the air? A racing <keyword id="6354474" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="drone">drone</keyword>, of course. Contrary to what many think, drones are not completely illegal in <keyword id="3658" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="India">India</keyword>. In fact, there's a budding <keyword id="2913897" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="drone-racing">drone racing</keyword> community in the country, flying drones at breakneck speeds and slowly making careers out of the sport. As with many things in technology today, India isn't that far behind the world either. Sure, there's work to be done, governments to convince and more people to onboard. Yet, Karan Kamdar, the man behind 1 Martian Way, the company that created the <keyword id="6462453" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="indian-drone-racing">Indian Drone Racing</keyword> League (<keyword id="4634776" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="idrl">IDRL</keyword>), says his community has been growing fast. The IDRL began just under two years ago. Kamdar's community was slow at first but has reached over 800 members now. The organisation has tie-ups with colleges, including IITs, BITS Pilani and more. It gets 15-25 participants in each race, most of which are held between October and April. What is drone racing? Like any race, drone races are about speed, timing and competing against one another. However, no drone race is complete without the first person view. That's why most drone racing events are prefixed by an "FPV". Unlike other races, a drone pilot doesn't see the world in front of him/her. They see what the drone sees, through tiny cameras fitted atop the drone. The pilot wears a head-mounted display, looking at the live stream from the drone's camera. That's all they have to steer the drone. There are also online events for drone racers. In these, pilots hook their controllers to computers and a software simulates a real-world drone race. The pilot chooses the drone they want and still get the first person view. The FPV element is what drives many pilots. Siddharth Nayak, a.k.a FlyingSid pegs this feeling as the reason for why people like racing drones. The video below is one Nayak made while flying his drones. Nayak has been a professional drone racer for about two years now, although he still does it as a hobby and not his primary source of income. The tracks for these races include obstacles that pilots have to manoeuvre. Currently, Indian drone races use football nets to make "gates" that pilots have to fly their drones through. Equipment To drone pilots, as with any sportsperson, the equipment is important. While most drone-related coverage in India centres around companies like DJI and their intelligent drones, the ones used for racing are custom made. Pro drone pilots like Nayak and Ritvik Nesargi build their own drones, with custom fitted motors, controllers and more. Nayak and Nesargi are two of India's top drone racing pilots. The cost of making a drone depends on the parts used. Nayak, who has been doing this for about two years, and is one of India's premiere pilots, says he and his brethren have lakhs of rupees on equipment already.

 You need some technical know-how to become a drone pilot. IDRL's Kamdar says pro pilots are differentiated from amateurs not just by skill, but by how well they understand the engineering. Their understanding of motors, controllers and what would best suit their drones can differentiate the best from the rest. An entry-level drone can be built for as little as Rs. 10,000, but if you want to race against serious pros, it's going to be expensive. When you're learning, you'll likely wreck your drone often, making and remaking it with each new step. There are also no drone racing tracks available in the country, so you'll have to make one for yourself. Nayak says he's bought some football nets for himself and he goes to parks and other open areas to practice. Easier said than done That said, practising has its own challenges. When organisations like IDRL are involved, dealing with regulations becomes a tad easier. However, both Nesargi and Nayak have to inform the police every time they decide to fly their drones in public. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) allows nano-drones (drones that weigh under 250 grams) to be flown without registration. However, Nesargi and Nayak still have to inform their local police stations whenever they practise in public.

 Nayak, Nesargi and Kamdar agree that for drone racing to be an accepted sport, the regulations need to be simpler. In fact, Kamdar says the government confuses between racing drones and regular drones. Unlike other drones, racing drones record only while racing, fly for only three minutes at a time and can't rise more than a few feet in the air. They're all about racing and manoeuvrability. Drones are also allowed to fly within educational institutions, as long as they're for educational purposes. Nayak says drone pilots have a responsibility to not fly over crowded areas and they should respect that too. Private support The IDRL, for the longest time, has been the only real place for drone racers to get competition. To keep afloat, IDRL now charges membership fees and sells merchandise (like jerseys) right now. It also charges colleges small sums for arranging drone racing competitions at various campuses. IDRL has established tie-ups with companies in Korea, perhaps the country where drone racing is most widely accepted. It also has tie-ups in the US and more. Kamdar says he will increase international efforts when the IDRL's member-base reaches around 2000.

 That said, the IDRL was instrumental in sending Nesargi to the Eurogamer Expo in the UK recently. In turn, Nesargi won races there, ending up in the finals of the event. And all that is now being supplemented by Smaaash, a gaming and entertainment company in India. You may have seen their outlets, spread over Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Gurgaon and other cities. Smaaash's establishments have so far been known for embracing virtual reality and other future-facing technologies for entertainment. The company just started its own Drone Racing league in Mumbai over the weekend. However, the weekend event is just the beginning. Shripal Morakhia, the founder of Smaaash says he plans to make it an international level league. There's a larger event planned for November, where Morakhia will be inviting international drone racers to compete against Indian pros. The first event saw amateurs race against each other, while pros battled it out on their own terms too. The amateur and pro races were separate, but Smaaash's efforts could bring more interested parties into the community. On the sidelines of Smaaash's event, the company creates drone-based games. The Drone Castle Race is a game that emulates Mario, with jumping drones clearing obstacles and racing against each other. On the other hand, Drone Soccer is a game of football played with drones instead of humans. Smaaash plans to incorporate these into its establishments around the country eventually. Making a career But much like any sport, private support can help open doors. When asked about drone racing as a career, Nayak said you don't do it for the money, you do it for passion. While Nayak has earned from his escapades, he doesn't see it as a viable career just yet. Neither does Nesargi, who also races drones as a hobby. Nesargi is currently a student at the Maharashtra Institute of Engineering in Pune. He says most of a drone racers income comes from prize money, which is not aplenty right now.

 Smaaash is offering a prize pool of Rs. 3,20,000 to the winners. There will be three winners in the pro races, with Rs. 1,00,000, Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 25,000 to the first, second and third positions, respectively. (Update: Nesargi and Nayak took the first and second spots, respectively.) IDRL also offers prize money at its events. However, the cost of equipment, travel, stay etc. usually cover the income from most events, including Smaaash's. Nesargi says you can make about Rs. 30,000 if you're regularly winning events. Lower rung competitors can still get travel and stay expenses, but none of that is enough to make a legitimate profession out of drone racing just yet. This is what private players can solve. In 2016, the World Drone Prix in Dubai had a million dollar prize pool. The winner, 15-year-old Luke Bannister from the UK, won $250,000 for his efforts, the biggest ever prize in drone racing at the time. If 1 Martian Way, Smaaash and future entrants are able to build enough interest, similar returns could be arranged.

 Opportunity to grow Internationally, drone racing is quickly becoming a legitimate profession. While it's not really a large community yet, the sport has a certain thrill to it, just like professional wrestling. Smaaash's races are going to be held at night, for which drones are fitted with LEDs. While it doesn't change the racing aspect for the pilots, it's more flashy and makes for a better watch.

The fact that there are so many drones and AI companies already means sponsorships should never be a problem. And to top it all, Indian drone pilots certainly do not lack the technical know-how required to do well. The drone racing community in India has been growing steadily, but it has picked up in the last year. Smaaash's event is one of the first big private investments in the sport and racers do hope there are more to come. It's as Nayak says, there's a long way to go, but there's definitely some potential here.

Inside India's budding drone racing community

India's top eight <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/This-Indian-startup-is-using-drones-to-capture-the-beauty-of-the-country-and-its-absolutely-stunning/articleshow/49578874.cms">drone</a> pilots will battle it during Formula DrOne, the country's first night <keyword id="2913897" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="drone-racing">drone racing</keyword> event to be unveiled tonight on a three-dimensional race track in the Manohar C-Watsa stadium of IIT Madras. 
 <keyword id="54462" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shaastra">Shaastra</keyword> - <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/The-7-Most-interesting-Innovations-by-IIT-masterminds/articleshow/51806484.cms">IIT</a> Madras <keyword id="130210" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="tech-fest">Tech Fest</keyword> - is presenting this event in association with the <keyword id="3614843" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="indian-drone-racing-league">Indian Drone Racing League</keyword>, a pan-India community of drone racing pilots. 
 For the event, the three-dimensional race track comprises LED walls and hoops for the <keyword id="94769" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="drones">drones</keyword> to navigate through, all arranged in a precise way to form a complicated race track covering about 1,00,000 square feet. The drones used for racing are purpose-built, unlike the ready-to-fly variety. 
 
Each pilot, therefore, will have wear special goggles that show real-time video from keychain cameras mounted on their craft. The drones move fast upto 100 kmph. Student coordinator Sundar Sri told the media - “They corner like a drift car; body rotating to face the direction they want to go while the drone is still sliding sideways through the air. The racers sit on the ground or in folding chairs, concentrating only on the controllers in their hands and the horizon.” 
 
Drone racing using FPV (first person view) is a rapidly-evolving ultra-modern sport that has captured the imagination of tech enthusiasts and geeks worldwide. Together, Shaastra and Indian Drone Racing League are trying to generate interest in this sport. IDRL has a long-term vision to enable world-class drone racing pilots emerge from the country and spread awareness about the educational aspect of building and programming drones. 
 
Nivedita Manepalli, Head of Shows and Exhibitions, Shaastra 2017, said though IDRL conducted it’s first episode in IIT Gandhinagar, in October 2016, this is the first time it’s being organised during night. 
 
The event would start at 6 pm and the stadium can accommodate about 3,000 spectators.

India's Top 8 Drone Pilots all set to battle it out at the 'Formula DrOne' Warzone tonight for the Ultimate Title

China is helping Pakistan to boost its firepower by selling it state-of-the-art defence items, including <keyword id="627045" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="armed-drones">armed drones</keyword>, even as it is engaged with India at the borders in eastern Ladakh. Intelligence sources said Pakistan is procuring medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) -- Cai Hong-4 (CH-4) -- from China in bulk. Sources said that a 10-member team of Pakistan Army led by Brigadier Mohammad Zafar Iqbal has visited China to review the procurement process. "The Pakistan Army team went to China for factory acceptance test for items procured from Aerospace Long-March International Trade Company (ALIT), China. Then was led by Brigadier Mohammad Zafar Iqbal," a source said. It was also revealed that Iqbal has earlier visited China in December 2019 for the factory acceptance test of the first tranche of Cai Hong-4 for which delivery was to commence in 2020. The CH-4 has a take-off mass between 1,200-1,300 kgs depending on the variant. It can also carry a wide range of payloads. The UAV is now in service with military forces including the Iraqi Army and the Royal Jordanian Air Force. Sources also stated that ALIT has offered Pakistan command and control options, including direct line-of-sight and satellite communications. Pakistan has planned to deploy these UAVs at the Line of Control in Jammu &amp; Kashmir to create further unrest in India. "China is helping Pakistan to do so," said the source. India and China are locked in an over three-month-long stand-off at multiple points, hitherto unprecedented along the border. China had changed the status quo on the Line of Actual Control at various places, moving inside Indian territory. India has objected to it and is taking up the matter with China at all levels. The troop disengagement happened only at patrolling point-14 in Galwan Valley, the site of the June 15 clashes, and patrolling point-15 in Hot Springs. On June 15, as many as 20 Indian soldiers and an unknown number of Chinese troops were killed in a violent clash in the Galwan Valley. Both the countries have engaged in military and diplomatic talks however nothing has materialized so far. The dispute remains unresolved and both the countries have started deploying troops and materiel at the disputed points. India has directed its armed forces to prepare for a long haul as the Chinese People's Liberation Army troops are not moving back from the disputed points. Pakistan buys armed drones from China in bulk amid border tensions with India

<ul><li>The <keyword id="6355725" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="tata-group">Tata Group</keyword> is planning to submit a proposal to fly beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drones in India according to a report by the Economic Times. </li><li>The $10 trillion conglomerate has already been involved in commercial tests for crop spraying, using drones. </li><li>The Tata Group has not specified an exact use cases but reportedly plans to use drone solutions for specific applications across its many businesses. </li></ul>The Tata Group is joining the drone race in India and plans to test its unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The $10 trillion conglomerate plans to seek certification from India’s apex drone regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) according to a report by the <a href="https://tech.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/technology/tatas-may-soon-join-queue-for-drone-clearance-from-dgca/69949932">Economic Times</a> before the July 10 deadline. The DGCA <a href="http://dgca.nic.in/tenders/EOI-BVLOS(May2019).pdf">invited applications</a> for companies to showcase their beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drones. The Tata Group sees this as an opportunity to use drones for specific applications across its many businesses, it hasn’t revealed an exact use case. The group has interests in steel, automobiles, retail, power, technology, consumer electronics to name a few. In the past, the Tata Group had commercially tested crop spraying drones. Though the technology is ready, it was awaiting clarity from DGCA to start using it. Tata’s not alone The Tata Group is not the only player to respond the DGCA’s call for BVLOS drones. Delhivery, Zomato, Swiggy, Zipline, ShopX are also looking to certified by the agency to use drones for their services. Zipline, a Silicon Valley company, is also looking to expand its medical delivery drone solutions to India. It already conducts around 500 deliveries in Ghana and Rwanda. RedWing, another medical delivery drone service, has also submitted its application. The company has previously partnered with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to make its services available in Papua New Guinea. More rural than urban Experts who spoke to the Economic Times speculate that regulators are more likely to permit drone flights in rural areas before introducing drones in dense urban settings. They also ascertain that drone application in rural areas can also help the Indian government reduce costs and monitor progress of ongoing infrastructure projects. Tatas seeks permit to test drones after Zomato, Swiggy and others

Last year, IIT Bombay’s Techfest saw a staggering footfall of 1,65,000 enthusiasts in a span of three days. The Asia’s biggest Science and Technology Festival is back once again, with a bang. 
 
The fest will see an interesting lineup of events, lectures, panel discussion and competitions this season as well, but ‘IIT-B exhibition’ remains one of the biggest draws of this fest every year. Displaying technological marvels, the exhibition has, over the years, exposed Indians to major breakthroughs in science and technology, scientific thinking and innovation. 
 
With a theme of Space Expedition this year, the exhibition, open to all, will once again give visitors a peek into innovations in the field of space research. 
 
Mind-controlled drones from the US, Morphofunctional drones — which mimic actions of living creatures — from Switzerland, ISRO’s launch vehicles used for space missions like Chandrayan and Mars Orbiter will be a part of the fest. Each one of these will highlight the fundamental research and the technologies developed at IIT Bombay. 
 A working prototype of the droid, which first appeared in last year’s <keyword id="61596" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Star-Wars">Star Wars</keyword>: The Force Awakens, will also be one of the technological marvels to be exhibited. It has been prepared by students of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in Russia. 
 
A Formula One racing car and an underwater vehicle built by IIT-B students will be on display. Visitors will also get a peek into the data received from Pratham, Mumbai’s first student satellite launched in September. 
 
Another attraction will be hearing India's first spaceman, Rakesh Sharma, and Isro chairman AS Kiran Kumar interact with students. This is the second time in three years that Sharma will participate in TechFest—he had earlier visited the campus in 2013. 
 Bedabrata Pain, a <keyword id="6360409" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="NASA">Nasa</keyword> scientist-turned-film director, and Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, former Isro chairman, will also speak at TechFest. Pain had directed the National Award-winning film, 'Chittagong'. 
 
On the exhibition front, some of the highlights of last year included Jinn Bot from Switzerland, who showcased the first 3D printed walking humanoid robot, which made heads turn. 
 NASA Chondrobot from Bangladesh was an automated robot which is capable of mining in lunar environments. In others, the Dutch Nao Team from Netherlands were present which showed off autonomous football playing Nao <keyword id="16719" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="robots">robots</keyword> from RoboCup. 
 
Other exhibits included a Poker Robot from Hungary, All Terrain Rescue and Relief Robot from Bangladesh and Minirobots from South Korea. 
 
Apart from robotics, there were many artists present at the event too. Afishal from the United Kingdom, who is known to be the father of a unique technology for visual DJ drums showcased his talent for the first time in India. Some of the setups also included an All-Terrain vehicle, laser tag, 9D simulator, aerodrums, drona, F1 simulator, flying simulator, paintball, bungee run, BMX bikes, 3D chess, quilling and cards tricks workshops too.

<ul><li>India will conduct its first ever simulated space war exercise this week.</li><li>‘IndSpaceEx’ will last two days with the aim of discovering which ‘imminent threats’ face India in outer space.</li><li>India’s apprehension is preceded by China developing space weapons and the US announcing its own Space Force.</li></ul>The Indian Defence ministry is conducting its first ever simulated space war exercise this week called ‘<a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/eye-on-china-india-set-to-kickstart-1st-space-war-drill/articleshow/70354760.cms?utm_source=Native_Share_Tray&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=TOIMobile">IndSpaceEx</a>’ that will last for two days. It’s not alone in worrying about a conflict. Space is getting increasingly congested and competitive — especially with China <a href="https://www.dia.mil/Portals/27/Documents/News/Military%20Power%20Publications/China_Military_Power_FINAL_5MB_20190103.pdf">developing weapons</a> that it can deploy in Earth’s orbit. The US President, Donald Trump, has already announced plans for the country to set up its own <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/Trump-wants-to-create-the-first-US-military-branch-to-fight-in-space-heres-what-the-Space-Force-could-look-like/articleshow/63307230.cms">Space Force</a>. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (<a href="https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/news_167181.htm">NATO</a>), which includes the US and most European nations, has outlined its own strategy for operations in Earth’s orbit. Looking for ‘imminent threats’ IndSpaceEx will be conducted by tri-service integrated defence staff (IDS) on Thursday and Friday to determine ‘imminent threats’ that it could face in outer space in the background of China expanding its capabilities. The space defence exercise is only one part of the puzzle. India reportedly has plans to launch a new agency — the Defense Space Research Agency — to develop new weapons systems for outer space combat, according to <a href="https://www.business-standard.com/article/news-ani/modi-govt-approves-new-agency-to-develop-space-warfare-weapon-systems-119061100627_1.html">ANI.</a> Other nations have similar reasons to have a contingency in place in case outerspace does ever end up becoming a battlefield. IIT-B students unveiled EVo1 at the Powai Institute campus, it is India’s first electric race car. A team of 60 students designed this car in 2012. It has a top speed of 115 km per hour and weighs about 320 kgs. It has acceleration from 1 to 100 kmph in 5 seconds and from 0 to 60 kmph in 3.5 seconds. It possesses high efficiency DC motors and Lithium polymer batteries.

 A group of passionate technologists, an IIT professor and a social entrepreneur joined hands and came up with an innovative product that aims to alleviate the hardships faced by visually challenged people when it comes to independent mobility.SmartCane™ is an aid for the visually impaired that provides safe and independent mobility which eases their integration into the society. It helps its user diagnose any above-the-knee obstruction from a distance of 3 meters. Frugality and resourcefulness have ensured that this product costs only INR 3,000.

An App which Facebook ended up buying 
 Abheek and Soham were inspired to create Tagtile by an incident in a restaurant in San Francisco. The <keyword id="137562" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="IITians">IITians</keyword> heard the restaurant owner complain about the websites and apps offering deals. Thus, Tagtile was launched in March 2011 to satisfy the merchants as well as customers with exciting deals and offers. Tagtile won many acclaims and became one of the widely used apps. It also received an award in October 2011 for Best Startup in a competition among 100-odd start-ups in the Silicon Valley.Initially a partnership deal, ended with Facebook buying the year-old product. The deal brought along an offer for Abheek and Soham to join Facebook as product manager and engineer.

Water rides You can now walk On Mirik Gogri and Ayush Jain, Two IIT-Bombay alumni formed Humming Whale Product Innovations, a company that innovates path-breaking products and solutions. The team came up with a fun idea of walking on water, which they later gamified into a ride.  Professor LM Das of IIT-D conceived the idea of using compressed hydrogen as an automotive fuel with Delhi's air pollution in mind . In the early '80s, it was a bold initiative — an idea ahead of its time. Lay acquaintances thought he was talking about making a hydrogen bomb. Detractors in the scientific community dismissed his research as a freak project. But Das soldiered on alone over the next three decades as associates came and went. He says - Unlike petroleum-derived hydrocarbon fuels, pure hydrogen does not produce toxic carbon monoxide or the heat-trapping carbon dioxide on combustion. There are no oxides of sulphur, nor any particulates. Water vapour and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) are the only byproducts. Although NOx is a pollutant, Das claims their engine has been optimized to reduce its emission greatly.

Designed and developed in just 95 days by two IIT Bombay students - Anurag Meena and Satyendra Meena - is a revolutionary machine which accepts used cans or bottles, and dispenses 300 millilitres of clean (RO and UV treated) drinking water in exchange. It is currently on a pilot test run at the IIT-Bombay boys’ hostel. In the coming months, it will also be installed in several other places in Mumbai and Chandigarh.

While highlighting how the connectivity has drastically increased the numbers of Indian users online, Google made a few key announcements about how it’s making its ecosystem more localised for India. Keeping in mind that India now has nearly 450 million internet users with 390 being active on a monthly basis, the country’s data usage has skyrocketed to 8GB per month, which is at par with users in developed nations around the world. Which is why it makes sense that the Google Assistant will now be rolling out in local Indian languages, aside from just Hindi and English. The introduction of Marathi onto the platform is the first of eight new languages that Google has planned to roll out.

The biggest boon is probably the artificial intelligence (AI) technology that will enable PDFs in indic languages to be seamlessly converted into editable text. The stripped down version of the Google Search app uses less data, less storage and has a simpler interface. More than 50% of Indian are currently using the search function, Google Go or just Google search, on their phones. This year, Google has introduced a readability feature. The Assistant will now be able to read web pages out loud, not only in English, but in various Indian languages like Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Malayalam and Tamil. And, usually when apps read text out it’s in a monotonous drone. The Assistant, with it’s AI capabilities, will actually be able to modulate what’s being said to offer a more ‘natural-sounding’ experience according to the company. Google Pay is here Google Pay is the Tez payments app, with a few more bells and whistles attached. The aim is to streamline the Indian payment app with its international counterpart, without losing out on the localisition. The company is expanding its reach through multiple programs targeted to attract more merchants onto the platform. First off, it’s partnering with large stores across India to tap into their large base of consumers. They’re also building something called the ‘merchant experience’ so that businesses can find more customers through Google Maps and customised notifications. The ‘merchant experience’ is already being tested in Delhi and Bangalore. In addition, it’s introducing new integrations to make the app more user friendly. One of those integrations is users being able to make payments with Google Pay without having to leave the merchant’s app. In partnership with Indian banks like HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, Google is also looking to go beyond basic payments. In their new collaboration efforts, Google Pay will soon have pre-approved, instant loans available on the platform in the coming weeks. <keyword id="6358470" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="google-home">Google Home</keyword> in Hindi Another feat in Google’s race to localise for India, the Assistant will now be able to switch between English and Hindi seamlessly. No extra command or intimation, just a bilingual Assistant. One of main complaints by Indian users when using any smart speaker has been that they don’t integrate well with the Indian diaspora of apps. Despite that, the use of the Google Assistant has tripled in the last year alone. Google, in turn, has introduced three new actions for the user. The ‘Where is My Train’ action to tracks trains across the country, the ‘Airtel’ action which allows subscribers to pull information about their account details using voice commands and the ‘Hello English’ to help users learn English via online lessons. Localised Google Maps How many times have you gotten lost using Google Maps because the turn indications are precise enough? The low-connectivity friendly version of the app, Google Maps Go, will now have turn-by-turn navigation as well as a new home screen with specialised shortcuts. And with respect to inter-state travel, Google is partnering with RedBus to bring on 20,000 new routes and 1,500 new cities to Google Maps. Google Stations Google stations was an initiative that the company took up with Railtel, which now spans across 400 stations in India. Not only is it being replicated across the world, the company has plans of introducing it in Andhra Pradesh to expand its reach to 10 million more people.

E-commerce is growing by <a href="https://www.bigcommerce.com/blog/ecommerce-trends/">30% every year</a>, most notably in one of the world’s largest emerging markets—India. The cities of <a href="https://newsroom.shadowfax.in/exactly-how-broken-is-indias-last-mile-logistics-cbc34af75f7c">Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi</a> are responsible for 40% of all E-commerce orders. Still, E-commerce offers many challenges, and it’s extremely difficult to find creative solutions to the traditional challenges facing E-commerce companies. In the context of Indian businesses finding practical and creative solutions to those challenges, it becomes even harder, but some companies are surging ahead of the competition in a race that could be worth hundreds of billions of dollars in the near future.
