As the device has already been announced, the specifications are already known. <h2>OnePlus 13 specifications</h2>The OnePlus 13 runs on Android 15 out of the box with OxygenOS 15 on top. The device features a 6.82-inch 2K+ LTPO AMOLED display with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and Crystal Shield super ceramic glass protection. It offers up to 1600 nits of typical brightness and up to 4500 nits of peak brightness. It also offers 2160Hz high-frequency PWM Dimming. The OnePlus 13 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite and was launched in four variants in China: 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage, 12GB RAM + 512GB internal storage, 16GB RAM + 512GB internal storage, and 24GB RAM + 1TB internal storage. Currently, there is no information about which variants will be launched in India. He left on Monday after meeting with senior officials, including Premier Li Qiang, China's second-highest-ranking politician, to discuss the rollout of Tesla's <a target="_blank" rel="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-fsd">Full Self-Driving technology</a> in the world's biggest auto market.China's search-engine giant Baidu agreed to grant Tesla access to its mapping license so Tesla could collect data on China's roads, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.reuters.com/technology/baidu-tesla-agree-mapping-deal-fsd-china-sources-say-2024-04-29/">Reuters</a> reported. In 2023, it lost its title as <a target="_blank" rel="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-byd-tesla-electric-car-ev-race-2023-11">the world's top EV seller</a> to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-01-16/byd-s-smart-car-features-include-drones-and-in-car-video-games">BYD</a>, which is also planning to release its own autonomous-driving technology.China's sluggish economy and property-market woes have also dampened consumer demand and made some wary of big-ticket purchases.Approval for FSD could have a significant impact on Tesla's revenues, given it charges $8,000 in the US for it or $99 a month for a subscription.In an interview with Bloomberg TV, the Wedbush analyst <a target="_blank" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HcPMxl_UWo">Dan Ives</a> said of the deal, "This could open up FSD in China, which I view as unlocking what could be, really, the golden opportunity for them."Chinese authorities also said Tesla's cars made in the country now passed data-security requirements. In 2021 Beijing cracked down on the use of Teslas by state personnel over <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-tesla-ban-military-government-personnel-2021-3">security concerns</a> posed by the vehicles' cameras. <h2>Musk's battle plan</h2>Musk's China visit came amid tough times for Tesla.The EV maker reported its <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-stock-tsla-quarterly-earnings-call-report-live-updates-2024-4">first decline in quarterly revenue since 2020</a> in its earnings call last week, missing Wall Street's already-low expectations. The revenue drop represented the first major decline since the pandemic disrupted vehicle production and deliveries.Telsa has also been <a target="_blank" rel="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-layoffs-job-cuts-2024-2">laying off 10% of its workforce</a>, or about 14,000 employees, and has had to recall recently launched Cybertrucks.Despite the miserable earnings, the company's stock jumped after the news that Tesla's long-awaited <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-investors-cheaper-cars-soon-musk-said-earnings-stock-up-2024-4">cheaper EVs</a> were coming soon. Elon Musk comes out fighting as China throws Tesla a lifeline

<ul><li>A map on <keyword id="71187" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Wikipedia">Wikipedia</keyword> showing Aksai Chin as a part of China has caught the eye of the Indian government.</li><li>The country’s IT Secretary has reportedly written to the company asking them to take down the map else it could lead to the online encyclopedia being blocked in India under Section 69A of the Information Technology (IT) Act. </li><li>The map can be found on Wikipedia’s page outlining Bhutan-India relations. </li></ul>After Twitter, the Indian government has now trained its guns on Wikipedia for how its territory is represented on maps. It has asked the online encyclopedia to take down a map that shows the disputed territory of Aksai Chin as a part of China. <div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="78805315" title="Twitter CEO is facing fire from India after a map showed Jammu and Kashmir as part of China" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div> The map in question can be found on Wikipedia’s <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhutan%E2%80%93India_relations">Bhutan-India relations</a> page as the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhutan%E2%80%93India_relations#/media/File:India_Bhutan_Locator.png">lead image. </a> Sources told the <a href="https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/delete-map-that-shows-aksai-chin-as-part-of-china-india-tells-wikipedia/story-TCT6rUz89TU2wrN8k7HwOL.html">Hindustan Times</a> that since the map violates the territorial integrity of India, it could lead to Wikipedia being blocked in the country under section 69A of the Information Technology (IT) Act if the error isn’t fixed. “The secretary has satisfied himself that the map has been wrongly depicted,” they said. Business Insider has reached out to the Wikimedia Foundation but has not received a response at the time of writing the article. India’s online territorial disputes As India defends its borders on the ground against China, it has also been more sensitive about how its territory is represented online. In September earlier this year, India’s IT secretary Ajay Sawhney <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/apps/news/twitter-ceo-is-facing-fire-from-india-after-a-map-showed-jammu-and-kashmir-as-part-of-china/articleshow/78805315.cms">wrote to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey</a>, reprimanding him for showing Jammu and Kashmir as a part of China. The issue came to light when security analyst Nitin A Gokhale went live on Twitter from Leh and the broadcast was geo-tagged as coming from China rather than from India. In the letter, Sawhney asserted that any attempt to disrespect India’s sovereignty and integrity, which includes how its territory is shown on maps, is “totally unacceptable,” and “unlawful.” The difference between Twitter and Wikipedia is that geotagging locations is something that Twitter can directly control, whereas the content on Wikipedia is compiled by volunteers. In fact, the image has been on Wikipedia for over a decade, since 26 May 2008. The site may not be a social networking platform, but most of its entries are user-generated and cross-checked within the volunteer community. The government has not yet issued a deadline for when the map should be taken down, but it was still live on the website at the time of writing this article. If it is not removed in a ‘timely fashion’ the government could invoke section 69A to block access to the website in India or even go as far as to initiate action under the Criminal Law Amendment Act, which can result in the imprisonment. India may reportedly block Wikipedia if the site doesn't delete the map showing Aksai Chin as a part of China

<ul class="summary-list"><li>The US Defense Department's latest report on the Chinese military describes its advances in 2020.</li></ul>The US Department of Defense's <a href="https://media.defense.gov/2021/Nov/03/2002885874/-1/-1/0/2021-CMPR-FINAL.PDF" target="_top">annual report</a> on <keyword id="11892748" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="china" source="Orion">China</keyword>'s military was released in November, providing new information on the growing strength of the <keyword id="12866680" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="peoples-liberation-army" source="Orion">People's Liberation Army</keyword> during 2020.Among the updates to <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/new-pentagon-maps-show-chinas-increasing-military-power-and-reach-2020-9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">last year's assessments, which covered developments in 2019</a>, were an increase in the estimated size of China's ground forces, an even larger naval fleet, and the introduction of new weapons.The changes can be tracked on the maps included in the report. Many were unchanged from last year, but those showing the placement of the major units of China's army, air force, and navy do have new details.<h2>PLA ground forces</h2><div type="image" title="China Chinese PLA tanks" height="1667" width="2500" msid="90580118" hostid="261"></div>The first map shows the location and positions of the major headquarters and group armies of the PLA's ground forces, identified in the report as the People's Liberation Army Army.The PLAA is still the largest standing army in the world, with 975,000 active-duty personnel — an increase from 915,000 in last year's report. The troops are divided into 78 combined-arms brigades in 13 group armies across five theaters: Northern, Central, Eastern, Southern and Western. There are also two military districts in the Western Theater, based in Xinjiang and Tibet.The brigades, each of which can have up to 5,000 troops, are organized into heavy (tracked armored vehicles), medium (wheeled armored vehicles), and light (high-mobility, mountain, air-assault and motorized) categories.The maps show the rotation or relocation of some of the group armies compared to last year. It also shows the location of the headquarters for China's Airborne Corps and Marine Corps, which are part of China's air force and navy, respectively.<div type="image" title="China military ground units map" height="1294" width="1290" msid="90580119" hostid="261"></div>The report says the PLA's major force restructuring program, started in 2016 to streamline to PLA, is complete, but that "significant additional equipment fielding is necessary to complete the transformation of the PLAA into a fully modern force."The Pentagon report notes that although some 40% of the PLAA's main battle tanks are 20 to 40 years old and "significant numbers of infantry brigades employ outdated equipment," the PLAA is receiving new hardware.The <a href="http://www.military-today.com/artillery/pcl_171.htm" target="_top">PCL-171</a> 120 mm wheeled self-propelled howitzer was mentioned in the report, as was the <a href="https://weaponsystems.net/system/978-PCL181" target="_top">PCL-181</a> 155 mm wheeled self-propelled howitzer. Both systems increase the PLAA's mobility, a key objective of the PLA as a whole.The report noted that the PLAA conducted extensive combined-arms and joint training with other branches despite the Covid-19 pandemic, with emphasis on high elevations as a result of increased tensions with India. Force projection over the Taiwan Strait was also a major focus.<h2>PLA Navy</h2><div type="image" title="A Chinese Type 055 destroyer" height="683" width="1024" msid="90580120" hostid="261"></div>Officially known as the People's Liberation Army Navy, China's navy is the largest in the world with a total battle force of 355 vessels, including about 145 "major surface combatants."As noted in the report, the PLAN is "speeding up the transition of its tasks from defense on the near seas to protection missions on the far seas."The map of PLAN forces provides an updated count of the types of vessels assigned to each of its three fleets, based in the PLA's Northern, Eastern, and Southern theaters.The PLAN's Eastern Theater Navy saw the most change, adding seven ships, (one frigate, five corvettes, and one amphibious transport dock), while losing 10 (eight missile patrol craft and two medium landing ships), though the report doesn't say whether those ships were decommissioned, reassigned, or removed for some other reason.<div type="image" title="China military naval units map" height="1360" width="1204" msid="90580121" hostid="261"></div>The Northern Theater Navy added five ships (one cruiser, two destroyers, and two corvettes) and lost five (two medium landing ships and three missile patrol craft).The Southern Theater Navy added three vessels (two nuclear-powered attack submarines and one amphibious transport dock) and lost 17 (one destroyer, four frigates, three tank landing ships, one medium landing ship, and eight missile patrol craft).Last year, China launched its second Type 075 amphibious assault ship and commissioned its first Type 055 destroyer, which the Pentagon classifies as a cruiser because of its massive armament of 112 missiles. <ul><li>Ukraine is upset with Apple over annexing Crimea as Russian territory on Maps and Weather apps within the country. </li><li>This is not the first time digital maps have been augmented to placate governments. </li><li>Google Maps uses the same strategy for Arunachal Pradesh and the Demchok region in Ladakh to placate both China and India. </li></ul>Ukraine <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/apps/news/apple-doesnt-give-a-damn-that-russia-stole-ukraines-heart/articleshow/72276226.cms">cried foul</a> over Apple showing Crimea as a part of Russian territory in Maps and Weather apps on the iPhone. Even though the change is only visible on iPhones operating in Russia, it sets a dangerous precedent for other disputed territories around the world. Apple, in its own way, legitimised the claim of the Russian government. “After all, maps are not neutral, irrespective of the purpose for which they are used. The very act of referring to a country’s map is often a political statement,” according to a <a href="https://www.orfonline.org/expert-speak/drawing-lines-internet-border-conflicts-politics-behind-digital-maps-51693/">report</a> by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF). <a href="http://metrocosm.com/disputed-territories-map.html">Metrocosm</a>’s map of the disputed territories around the world shows that nearly three-quarters of all countries are engaged in at least one dispute over its national borders — and Apple’s not the only one trying to find political balance. Google Maps does the same thing China and India have been at odds for years over the eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, south of the McMahon Line. And, Google didn’t want to make either country angry. When Google Maps is accessed from India it shows the state as a part of Indian territory. But, when it’s accessed from the <a href="http://www.google.cn/">Chinese Google</a>, it shows that Arunachal Pradesh as a part of Chinese territory, according to data by the ORF. This decision was made back in 2009 following outrage over the previous version of the map during former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh during the state elections. Tibet, a nation that India supports for its independence but China lays claim to, is also warped on Google Maps. When navigating to the Ngari prefecture from Demchok in Leh — in India — there is no alert aside from one, which informs the user that they may be entering a different time zone. Mapping the same destination from China puts Demchok in Chinese territory and shows no route at all. This is despite the fact that Demchok was the location of a stand-off between the Chinese and India military forces in 2018. It’s not just about India. In 2010, Nicaraguan troops marched into Costa Rica because the stretch of land was Nicaraguan territory on Google Maps, according to the man leading the charge — Commander Pastora. <ul class="summary-list"><li>India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi won a narrower-than-expected reelection victory.</li><li>But the setback likely won't deter his global ambitions.</li></ul>India's Prime Minister <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/indian-election-results-shocking-blow-narendra-modi-2024-6">Narendra Modi</a> emerged from Tuesday's election victory with his air of invincibility damaged.The strongman leader of the world's largest democracy had been predicted to win reelection for a third term by a landslide.But his Bharatiya Janata Party <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/india-election-results-narendra-modi-bjp-congress-2024-6">failed to gain enough seats</a> to claim outright victory, and it will need the support of coalition partners to form a government.The result, though, is unlikely to deter Modi, as he continues to pursue one of the core goals of his decade in power: transforming India into one of the world's most powerful nations.<h2 id="272ba8df-0d6b-4e4a-960e-7da93df8450f">A leader of the Global South</h2>Under Modi, India's growth has put it <a target="_blank" href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/benjaminlaker/2024/02/23/india-to-become-third-largest-economy-by-2027-implications-for-leaders/?sh=58b178754fd5">on the path</a> to becoming the world's third-biggest economy by 2027 — and it has become an important and increasingly abrasive global power player.Modi wants to position India as a leader of the Global South — a term often used to describe a group of developing nations — and for it to have a permanent position on the UN Security Council to mark its new global status.He has strengthened ties with the US, a long-standing ally, but he's also sought to build ties with Russia and has clashed with Asia's chief power, China.Modi will work to cement his foreign-policy legacy in his third term.<h2 id="c3e5a4c5-0e40-407e-a012-9b6448008edc">Countering Chinese aggression</h2>Richard Rossow, a senior advisor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, told Business Insider that countering China's aggression and seeking foreign investment will be key focuses for Modi going forward."India's main priorities will remain unchanged," he said.A clash between India and China in June 2020 over a long-simmering Himalayan border dispute resulted in the death of 20 Indian soldiers. Meanwhile, tensions in the Indian Ocean are escalating, with <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-produces-vast-undersea-maps-submarine-warfare-report-says-2024-1">a report from earlier this year</a> finding that China is mapping vast undersea areas in preparation for a potential naval conflict with the rival regional power.<div type="image" title="Biden Modi" height="2666" width="4000" msid="110739802" hostid="261"></div>India is part of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue with the US, Australia, and Japan, and it'll be looking to counter China's aggression by strengthening these strategic relationships."On security affairs, India wants to continue building partnerships that can help it manage belligerent actions China is taking today and in the future. Wear OS-powered smartwatches with this support will no longer require a paired phone for turn-by-turn navigation when using Google Maps, as long as the watches have built-in LTE connectivity or are connected to a Wi-Fi network, reports SamMobile. To use this feature, users must first open Google Maps on their LTE-enabled Wear OS smartwatches, then navigate to Settings and select Launch Mode. Launch Mode is a new menu that has been added to the Google Maps Wear OS app, placed between the Auto-launch and Terms of Service menus, according to the report. Moreover, users will see two options under the header Navigation will be launched in the Launch Mode menu, and they must select the Watch only option to begin navigation from the app on the watch. These options will be available on both Bluetooth/Wi-Fi devices and LTE-only devices. Users will not need to update the app or their watch because this is a server-side rollout, said the report. It also means that users may not get the feature right away and may have to wait a few days for it to appear on their smartwatch.
