It gradually moves closer under the influence of the Sun's gravitational pull, spiralling inwards at ever-increasing speeds. By 2025, it will be racing at approximately 690,000 kph, which corresponds to around 0.064% of the speed of light. On its 24th and final orbit, the Solar probe is expected to approach close enough to essentially "plunge" into the Sun. This offers seven more orbits' worth of opportunities to gather valuable data about our central star. Notably, it is the closest we've ever dispatched a spacecraft to the Sun, hovering just 7.26 million kilometres above the seething ocean of plasma that makes up the Sun's surface. '<keyword id="22456633" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Phlogacanthus-Sudhansusekharii" source="keywords">Phlogacanthus Sudhansusekharii</keyword>', the plant species recently discovered from <keyword id="19949553" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Itanagar" source="keywords">Itanagar</keyword> Wildlife Sanctuary in Papum Pare district, belongs to the family 'Acanthaceae' and the 'Phlogacanthus' genus, they said. The species is named to honor Dr Sudhansu Sekhar Dash, a scientist at the BSI, for his "significant contribution" to plant and ecological research in the Indian Himalayan region, the BSI officials said. The detailed research paper on the new species has been published by the authors Samrat Goswami and Rohan Maity in the Indian Journal of Forestry. The genus 'Phlogacanthus' comprises 13 species in India and is spread over mainly the northeastern and eastern Himalayan states, they said. "The newly described species is closely allied to Phlogacanthus Guttatus (Wall) Nees, but differ in various morphological characters, mainly in its shape and size of calyx, staminodes and strikingly different corona colour," a BSI official said. Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed delight over the development. "The biodiversity of Arunachal Pradesh is wide &amp; varied. In addition to the findings of new flora, researchers from @bsi_moefcc have identified a new plant species, named Phlogacanthus sudhansusekharii, in the Itanagar Wildlife Sanctuary," Khandu said in a post in X. Scientists discover new plant species in Arunachal Pradesh

Citizens will now be able to create and authenticate their own Digilocker account on WhatsApp and download documents such as PAN card; driving licence; CBSE Class X passing certificate; vehicle registration certificate (RC); insurance policy - two wheeler; Class X and Class XII marksheets; and insurance policy document (life and non-life available on Digilocker), MyGov said in a statement. According to MyGov, the move will make "the government services accessible, inclusive, transparent and simple". WhatsApp users across the country can use the chatbot by simply sending 'Namaste' or 'Hi' or 'Digilocker' to the WhatsApp number +91 9013151515. "Offering Digilocker services on the MyGov Helpdesk is a natural progression and a step towards providing citizens with simplified access to essential services via WhatsApp's easy and accessible platform. With almost 100 million+ people already registered on Digilocker and 5 billion+ documents issued till date, we are confident that the service on WhatsApp will digitally empower millions by helping them access authentic documents and information, right from within their phones," said Abhishek Singh, CEO MyGov in the statement. Faster vaccinations is the 'only way' out for India, US' chief medical advisor Fauci

While earlier this problem was present in 13 to 15 per cent of children, it has increased to 20 to 25 per cent in the last 10 years. That means if there are 50 children in a classroom, then out of them there will be 15 to 20 children who require glasses. Dr <keyword id="20858465" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rohit-saxena" source="keywords">Rohit Saxena</keyword>, professor of ophthalmology and pediatrics, <keyword id="20858467" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rp-center" source="keywords">RP Center</keyword> at AIIMS, said that in earlier times, only 3 to 4 per cent of children required spectacles but now this number has increased. "Earlier, the problem of vision defects was seen in children 10 to 12 years of age. But now, at the age of 6 to 7 years, the eyesight of children has started deteriorating and they need to wear glasses," said the doctor. Not only this, but the doctor also said that even children under 4 years of age are facing the problem of myopia, or vision defect and the reason for its increase is the continuous use of gadgets like mobile phones, tablets, etc. in children. Children keep using mobile phones and other gadgets for many hours and parents do not interrupt them, Dr Rohit said, adding that before Corona, when parents used to come to us, they used to complain about television hours and ways to solve them. "But now parents say that he uses the phone only for 2 hours, which means that there has been a change in the mentality of the parents, which is affecting the eyesight of children," he added. Dr Rohit said that in the data collected from rural areas in the last 10 years, earlier, 3 to 4 per cent of children had the problem of visual impairment, which has now increased to 7 to 8 per cent. In a separate communication, Moderna has informed that the US has agreed to donate a certain number of doses of its COVID-19 vaccine through COVAX to the Government of India for use here and has sought approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), while <keyword id="6357157" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="cipla">Cipla</keyword>, on behalf of the US pharma major, has requested for import and marketing authorization of these jabs. According to the sources, an approval is likely anytime as the CDSCO is in favour of granting permission to Cipla for import of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine for restricted emergency use in India considering the pandemic situation in the country and in public interest. Cipla filed an application on Monday seeking permission for import of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine referring to DCGI notices dated April 15 and June 1 as per which if the vaccine is approved by the <keyword id="44669" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="USFDA">USFDA</keyword> for EUA, the vaccine can be granted marketing authorisation without bridging trial and assessment of safety data of first 100 beneficiaries of vaccines shall be submitted before rolling out in immunization programme. Also, the requirement of testing of every batch by the Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL), Kasauli can be exempted if the batch/lot is released by the CDL of country of origin. However, summary lot protocol review and scrutiny of documents shall be undertaken by the laboratory for batch release as per standard procedures, Cipla said referring to the DCGI's new revised rules. Moderna through a separate communication has informed that the <keyword id="48028" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="US-government">US Government</keyword> has agreed to donate a certain number of doses of the <keyword id="9708420" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="moderna-covid-19-vaccine">Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine</keyword>, mRNA-1273, through COVAX to the Government of India for use in India and has submitted the dossiers through e-mail. "This correspondence is to request the CDSCO to open a file for approval of these urgently needed vaccines," Moderna said. In a bid to expedite the roll out of vaccines, the DCGI on June 1 decided to waive off testing of batches at CDL for foreign-manufactured vaccines that have been approved by international drug regulators such as the US FDA, the UK's MHRA or the WHO. The Centre had in April issued detailed guidelines and proactively eased entry of foreign made COVID-19 vaccines approved by the US FDA, EMA, UK's MHRA and Japan's PMDA, and WHO's Emergency Use Listing into India. According to the guidelines, these vaccines will not need to undergo prior bridging trials. The provision was further amended to waive off the trial requirement altogether for the well-established vaccines manufactured in other countries.
