As many as 54% of CEOs are looking to expand into North America and Europe, which is a shift for companies that normally look at emerging economies. There are three reasons why Indian CEOs have put global expansion plans on hold

ChatGPT’s Voice Assistant will reply using one of ten available voice styles. To streamline this process, the company has also launched a Chrome extension, enabling users to set ChatGPT as their default search engine for instant answers from reliable websites. OpenAI rolls out ChatGPT Search to all free users with voice and map features

South Korean auto major <keyword id="20190176" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hyundai-motor" source="keywords">Hyundai Motor</keyword> Group on Thursday said it is looking to expand the annual production capacity across <keyword id="19906087" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai" source="keywords">Hyundai</keyword> and <keyword id="19997865" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kia" source="keywords">Kia</keyword> brands in India to 15 lakh units per year, as part of its mid-to-long-term strategy in the country. Outlining the company's strategy for the India market, Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) Executive Chair Euisun Chung said the automaker plans to roll out more <keyword id="19962337" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="EVs" source="keywords">EVs</keyword>, while also utilising the country as an export hub for the neighbouring countries. Chung visited India on April 23 to review the group's mid-to-long-term strategies to solidify its position as a leading mobility provider. Hyundai Motor Group is expanding its manufacturing footprint in the Indian region with the establishment of an annual production system of 1.5 million vehicle units for Hyundai Motor India and Kia India combined, the automaker stated. Hyundai Motor India will start operating its Pune plant, acquired from General Motors last year, in the second half of the next year. Hyundai Motor is currently making improvements to the facility to create a production hub capable of building more than 200,000 units annually, it said. With the addition of the Chennai plant's production capacity of 824,000 units, Hyundai Motor will have an annual production capacity of over one million units when combined with the Pune plant, it added. Besides, Kia India's yearly production capacity will also be expanded to 431,000 units within the first half of this year. "Combined together, Hyundai Motor Group will have the ability to produce approximately 1.5 million units annually in India," HMG said. The group also plans to expand its EV lineup and create an EV ecosystem to accelerate customer uptake and expand charging infrastructure. It will also strengthen its SUV sales leadership in India, HMG said. Hyundai Motor India plans to unveil its first locally produced EV in India next year, it said. Starting with the mass production of its first <keyword id="21425421" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="electric-SUV-model" source="keywords">electric SUV model</keyword> at the Chennai plant at the end of 2024, the company plans to further produce five EV models by 2030, it added. Hyundai Motor India will also utilize its sales network hubs, expanding the number of EV charging stations to 485 by 2030, HMG said. Kia India will also start production of its local EV model in 2025 and plans to further expand its EV models, it added. The company will also focus on building EV charging infrastructure, it stated. "India is among the fastest-growing economies globally, and as this growth continues the strategic importance of Hyundai Motor India will only increase," Chung said while addressing employees in a town hall meeting. He further said, "by leveraging our strong reputation and competitive quality in India, we aim to expand exports to neighbouring countries, making India the global export hub to boost our regional market competitiveness." Chung said that by around 2030, the automaker expects to see a substantial expansion in the EV market in India. "In anticipation of this evolution, Hyundai is focused on developing locally tailored EVs aimed at establishing us as a leading global EV brand," he added. "We also plan to proactively build charging stations at strategic locations 'including dealerships' to facilitate the adoption of EVs," Chung said. Hyundai Motor India sells models like Creta, Verna while Kia India sells models like Seltos, Carens and Sonet in the country. Hyundai plans to scale up production capacity, introduce more EVs in India

About time we heard something from the <keyword id="80487" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="walmart">Walmart</keyword> camp. After the government change, most knew foreign alliances and <keyword id="6362476" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="investments">investments</keyword> will become stronger and better in the country. A report that came out in ET suggests that the multinational company has and will infuse 623 crores in India. 
 
This will be used to expand Walmart’s network here. This money which will flow from its parent company will enable the Indian operations to expand extensively and will permit the giant to capture more cities and markets. They are aiming to open more than 50 stores in the coming years across the length and breadth of India. 
 This type of foreign investment will slowly but steadily be seen in India, after the BJP government took charge. The Indian <keyword id="71" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Prime-Minister">Prime Minister</keyword> <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> is up for growth and good governance, and letting foreign investors come in and expand seems to be a key agenda of the new government.

Walmart Will Infuse Rs 623 Crores In India And Will Expand

<keyword id="1042120" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="uber" source="Orion">Uber</keyword> on Thursday refuted a report that claimed the ride-hailing major planned to exit the Indian market and held discussions with potential buyers to sell its India business. Bloomberg reported that the US-based company explored selling the India business, but "suspended discussions after tech startup valuations cratered." In a statement shared with IANS, an Uber spokesperson said the company never explored exiting India -- not even for a minute -- and the report is "categorically false." "India is as important to Uber today as it was when we launched nine years ago. We are serving riders and drivers across more than 100 cities, hiring Indian talent aggressively, and planning for the next decade and beyond," the company spokesperson said. Uber competes with SoftBank-backed <keyword id="6354720" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ola" source="Orion">Ola</keyword> in the country. Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in April that it will expand its product offerings and its team in India. "We continue to expand the product offerings for the Indian consumer. Whether it is autos, motos or high-capacity vehicles or rentals, India has always been a very big part of the Uber journey," he said during the Virtual i3 summit organised by Times Bridge. Uber aims to expand its engineering talent in India to more than 1,000 people from 700 at present, he had announced. Last month, <keyword id="2502101" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="uber-india" source="Orion">Uber India</keyword>'s Director of Central Operations, Nitish Bhushan, said that they are "always striving to make driving with Uber a viable and attractive option for drivers and the recent hike in fares will directly boost their earnings per trip". To remove frustration for riders and drivers alike, the company is also showing trip destinations to drivers before they decide to accept the ride. "Drivers at the Uber advisory council meeting told us they would like more flexibility around payments. We are now showing drivers the mode of payment (cash or online) before the trip starts," the company said. To make the cash or online decision irrelevant, the company has also introduced a daily pay process for drivers. With these changes, the company said that they are also reinforcing their service quality expectations with drivers, especially in areas like cancellation and ensuring AC rides. Uber dismisses report that said it's planning to sell off its India business

The Sportster 1200 Custom is powered by an air-cooled, 1200 cc engine and will be assembled at the company's Bawal plant. This will expand the company's portfolio of motorcycles assembled from CKD (Complete Knockdown) units to eight models out of a total of 13 sold in India.

The company will be expanding its 400,000 square feet space by another 180,000 sft. “In line with our vision to transform the way India buys and sells, we have been consistently investing in our infrastructure and delivery network, so we can increase our speed of delivery and provide a superior experience to both – customers and sellers,” said Akhil Saxena, Vice President, Customer Fulfilment - Asia, Amazon. Amazon holds 30% of the market share in Indian e-commerce industry. It has been ramping up its operations to grow its market further. In Telangana alone, Amazon has three fulfillment centres. In June it had also launched its largest delivery station in the state, spreading over 20,000 square feet. Across the country, Amazon now has more than 60 FCs with over 20 million cubic storage space. The expansion of FCs in India seems to be aligned with Amazon’s plan to have faster deliveries. In an earlier conversation with Business Insider, Akshay Sahi, Director &amp; Head of Prime, <keyword id="6354743" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amazon-India">Amazon India</keyword>, said that they are looking to expand their options for same day deliveries, to more cities. Billore — a son of a farmer — founded MBA Chai Wala as ‘Mr Billore Ahmedabad’ in 2017 after three consecutive failed attempts at CAT examinations. He wanted to get an MBA college and work at a multinational corporation, but instead he opened a small ‘thela’ cart outside his dream college IIM Ahmedabad. “Under my father’s pressure, I also took admission in a local college but I dropped out in 12 days. My father got really upset. But I wanted to create my own identity,” Billore noted. His brother Vivek Billore also joined MBA Chai Wala as a cofounder in 2020. The company has expanded to 100 cities like Bhopal, Srinagar, Surat, Delhi and more — since 2021. It now plans to double that number this year. It is currently opening 10-15 franchise stores on a monthly basis in an attempt to achieve these targets. Each of these stores are operated under the brand name MBA Chai Wala but will be financially managed by a franchise partner, who also handle all the investments that go into the outlet. The company charges ₹20 lakh on an annual basis to sell its franchises. Billore claims that the original MBA Chai Wala outlet in Ahmedabad earns up to ₹17 lakh a month. Meanwhile, an average MBA Chai Wala outlet employs seven employees and a smaller outlet provides employment opportunities to roughly five people. Based on this, the company will be generating employment for at least 500 people through its next 100 stores. MBA Chai Wala has been focusing on expansion in Northern India so far but it will now also look to expand in the southern part of the country, Praful Billore told Business Insider India. He noted that they will launch stores in Chennai, Bengaluru, Belgaum, Goa, Tirupati and more. “We used to get inquiry [for franchise] earlier too, but we scaled our business, built a name first and then started the franchise model,” Billore added. The company plans to expand his business across all 1,900 pin codes and 4000 cities in India with a goal to grow worldwide. They also plan to start their own tea-leaf brand. Don’t underestimate the power of a…Meru Cab. India’s only profit making taxi services company has recently raised around $25 million from Brand Capital, the investment arm of Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd (BCCL), the same group that publishes the Times of India newspaper. 
 
As per the official statement, the money will be used to strengthen the company’s foothold in the country’s domestic taxi-hailing market, increase brand awareness via advertising and promotions, and widen its customer segment. 
 “With the ongoing transformation in the taxi industry, this move is in line with the company's efforts to showcase its services to a larger customer segment via a bouquet of media channels,” said Siddhartha Pahwa, CEO, <keyword id="108722" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Meru-Cabs">Meru Cabs</keyword>. 
 
Since May 2015, when Meru last raised $50 million from its existing investor India Value Fund Advisors (IVFA), it has expanded its taxi service to 24 new cities, launched four new products and expanded its fleet size to over 20,000 vehicles. 
 
Meru entered the highly-competitive online taxi-hailing market back in 2007 when the Maharashtra government invited tenders for GPS-linked electronically metered cab for 10,000 cabs in 2006. 
 
Headquartered in Mumbai, Meru Cabs was launched with a mere 45 taxis back in 2007. It expanded operations to three cities in 2008, namelyDelhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, and followed it up with two more - Jaipur and Ahmedabad in 2013 and Chennai in 2015. 
 
India’s organized taxi-hailing market currently stands at over $1.2 billion, and is expected to touch $15 billion by 2022. This enormous opportunity at hand has led to a bitter price war between the likes of Uber and Ola.

Meru Cabs raises $25 million from Times Group, looking to expand further

Car services management app Park+ on Tuesday said it has raised Rs 140 crore in a funding round led by <keyword id="5998794" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="epiq-capital" source="Orion">Epiq Capital</keyword>, Matrix Partners <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> and Sequoia Capital India. The company plans to utilise the fund to expand its presence to over 100 cities, hire more than 200 employees and expand its services verticals, Park+ said in a statement. "The fund (Rs 140 crore) that we have raised will help us in strengthening our team and expanding our presence to over 100 cities. The part of the fund will be used for launching more used cases," Park+ Founder and CEO <keyword id="351083" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="amit-lakhotia" source="Orion">Amit Lakhotia</keyword> told PTI while sharing details of the funding. Park+ has over 700 employees across India. <keyword id="386081" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="lakhotia" source="Orion">Lakhotia</keyword> said that the company has an access control business in 20 cities, a parking business in 10 cities, and a dealership business in 30 cities and the company will scale up across different verticals and touch 100 cities in the next 6-8 months. The company helps users find a parking spot, track challans, recharge FASTag, renew insurance, car cleaning, car maintenance etc. Lakhotia said that the company has been making money since the beginning of the business and expects operational profit in the next financial year. "Park+ has identified and unlocked business opportunities within the auto-tech segment, which no one else was ready or willing to solve. Today they host the largest community of car owners in India (60 lakh), a testament to the brand's traction and acceptability among its users. Park+ raises ₹140 crore for biz expansion to over 100 cities, hire 200 people

New Delhi, June 8 (IANS) Google Cloud on Monday announced to appoint global Cloud data services company NetApp veteran Anil Valluri as Senior Director for Google Cloud in India. Valluri would help Google Cloud deepen customer engagement, expand on its strategic partnerships and deliver advanced solutions to help companies in India accelerate their data-led innovation. "Valluri has led some of the biggest technology MNCs in India and his experience will be invaluable as we continue our charter to help companies solve their most complex business and technology challenges," Karan Bajwa, Managing Director, Google Cloud India, said in a statement. Google Cloud has a rich list of customers in India, including Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Indiamart, Hero Motocorp, ICICI Prudential, L&amp;T Finance, LIC HFL, Manipal Hospitals, OYO Hotels and Homes, Truecaller, Wipro and others. In March, the company announced plans to expand its presence in India by launching a cloud region in Delhi, adding to its Mumbai region which was opened in 2017. "Cloud is the next big transition in the technology industry and Google has been making major strides in this space. I'm excited for this new opportunity to help businesses of all sizes in India succeed in this rapidly digitizing economy," said Valluri. The company said the smartphone will be manufactured at a facility in Tamil Nadu. "We are thrilled to announce that every phone (1) sold in India will be manufactured locally," said Manu Sharma, VP and GM of Nothing India. "Nothing phone (1) is the real start of our journey and we cannot think of a better way to establish ourselves in India, which is a key market for us," he added. Nothing phone (1) will be sold via Flipkart. The company is reportedly set to launch the device with a transparent design on July 21. A recent tweet by Nothing CEO and Co-founder, Carl Pei, suggested that the device may arrive with support for wireless charging. The upcoming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon mobile platform. It is said to be the company's first smartphone and a second device in the overall product ecosystem of the brand. The device will come preinstalled with the Nothing OS. The device will be treated with three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates. For the upcoming Nothing phone (1), the company is expanding its customer support in the region, to 270 authorised service centres in more than 250 cities, as well as year-round support via the Nothing India channels.
