<ul><li>A map on <keyword id="71187" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Wikipedia">Wikipedia</keyword> showing Aksai Chin as a part of China has caught the eye of the Indian government.</li><li>The country’s IT Secretary has reportedly written to the company asking them to take down the map else it could lead to the online encyclopedia being blocked in India under Section 69A of the Information Technology (IT) Act. </li><li>The map can be found on Wikipedia’s page outlining Bhutan-India relations. </li></ul>After Twitter, the Indian government has now trained its guns on Wikipedia for how its territory is represented on maps. It has asked the online encyclopedia to take down a map that shows the disputed territory of Aksai Chin as a part of China. <div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="78805315" title="Twitter CEO is facing fire from India after a map showed Jammu and Kashmir as part of China" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div> The map in question can be found on Wikipedia’s <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhutan%E2%80%93India_relations">Bhutan-India relations</a> page as the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhutan%E2%80%93India_relations#/media/File:India_Bhutan_Locator.png">lead image. </a> Sources told the <a href="https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/delete-map-that-shows-aksai-chin-as-part-of-china-india-tells-wikipedia/story-TCT6rUz89TU2wrN8k7HwOL.html">Hindustan Times</a> that since the map violates the territorial integrity of India, it could lead to Wikipedia being blocked in the country under section 69A of the Information Technology (IT) Act if the error isn’t fixed. “The secretary has satisfied himself that the map has been wrongly depicted,” they said. Business Insider has reached out to the Wikimedia Foundation but has not received a response at the time of writing the article. India’s online territorial disputes As India defends its borders on the ground against China, it has also been more sensitive about how its territory is represented online. In September earlier this year, India’s IT secretary Ajay Sawhney <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/apps/news/twitter-ceo-is-facing-fire-from-india-after-a-map-showed-jammu-and-kashmir-as-part-of-china/articleshow/78805315.cms">wrote to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey</a>, reprimanding him for showing Jammu and Kashmir as a part of China. The issue came to light when security analyst Nitin A Gokhale went live on Twitter from Leh and the broadcast was geo-tagged as coming from China rather than from India. In the letter, Sawhney asserted that any attempt to disrespect India’s sovereignty and integrity, which includes how its territory is shown on maps, is “totally unacceptable,” and “unlawful.” The difference between Twitter and Wikipedia is that geotagging locations is something that Twitter can directly control, whereas the content on Wikipedia is compiled by volunteers. In fact, the image has been on Wikipedia for over a decade, since 26 May 2008. The site may not be a social networking platform, but most of its entries are user-generated and cross-checked within the volunteer community. The government has not yet issued a deadline for when the map should be taken down, but it was still live on the website at the time of writing this article. If it is not removed in a ‘timely fashion’ the government could invoke section 69A to block access to the website in India or even go as far as to initiate action under the Criminal Law Amendment Act, which can result in the imprisonment. India may reportedly block Wikipedia if the site doesn't delete the map showing Aksai Chin as a part of China

Global pharma major Pfizer on Thursday said it remains committed to engaging with the Indian government to explore opportunities to make Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine available in the country. The UK on Wednesday became the first country to approve the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine against COVID-19 with the UK regulator Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)granting a temporary authorisation for its emergency use. "Right now we are in discussions with many governments around the world and remain committed to engaging with the Government of India and explore opportunities to make this vaccine available for use in the country," a Pfizer spokesperson said in a statement. Pfizer is committed to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to have access to the vaccine, and is working closely with governments, it added. "During this pandemic phase, Pfizer will supply this vaccine only through government contracts based on agreements with respective government authorities and following regulatory authorisation or approval," the statement said. The UK regulator, MHRA has granted a temporary authorisation for emergency use of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine. This constitutes the first Emergency Use Authorisation following a worldwide phase 3 trial of a vaccine to help fight the pandemic, Pfizer said on Wednesday. "As we anticipate further authorizations and approvals, we are focused on moving with the same level of urgency to safely supply a high-quality vaccine around the world," Pfizer Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Albert Bourla said on Wednesday. In November, NITI Aayog member (Health) V K Paul, who also heads the National Task Force on COVID-19, had said the arrival of the <keyword id="9655003" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="pfizer-vaccine">Pfizer vaccine</keyword> in the country might take some months. "The arrangement of cold-chains for storing the vaccine developed by Pfizer at a low temperature of minus 70 degrees Celsius is a big challenge and it will not be easy for any nation. Currently in India, Pune-based Serum Institute of India has said that it will apply for emergency use licensure for AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine in two weeks. Phase-3 clinical trial of the indigenously-developed vaccine candidate of Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is also underway. While vaccine candidate of Zydus Cadila has completed the phase-2 clinical trial, pharma major Dr Reddy's Laboratories has started the combined phase 2 and 3 clinical trials of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik V, in India. Another domestic firm Biological E Ltd has also started early phase 1 and 2 human trials of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate. Pfizer claims its committed to making its COVID-19 vaccine available in India and engaging with the government

<ul><li><keyword id="141088" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amazon-Web-Services">Amazon Web Services</keyword> (AWS) and <keyword id="6358918" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="deloitte">Deloitte</keyword> have launched a new endeavour called the ‘<keyword id="10372250" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="cloud-garage">Cloud Garage</keyword>’. </li><li>The new concept is a first for both companies in combining a physical space with virtual infrastructure to help companies experiment with their cloud solutions before taking them live. </li><li>According to the company, the main industries set to benefit from the new environment are financial services, energy and renewables, retail, manufacturing, and telecommunications. </li></ul><keyword id="18635" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amazon">Amazon</keyword> Web Services (AWS) and Deloitte are extending their global collaboration by opening a ‘Cloud Garage’ in India’s financial capital, Mumbai. This is a pivot from their old approach, which was more point-to-point, to one that adjusts for the new business models emerging in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. “The garage is a sort-of a playground where the infrastructure is there for people to come in, ideate, put forward their prototypes, figure out what will work and what will not work, find a viable product and then really scale,” Romal Shetty, the president of consulting at <keyword id="6356108" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="deloitte-india">Deloitte India</keyword> told Business Insider. Outside India, AWS has been hosting Startup Garage events in the UK since 2019 to create a community of entrepreneurs and startups to work on technology-related topics. But, this is the first time there’s a dedicated permanent space for the Cloud Garage. There’s an actual physical garage set up in Mumbai at Deloitte’s Knowledge Centre supplemented by virtual infrastructure. The main beneficiaries of AWS’ and Deloitte’s Cloud Garage The main industries that are set to benefit from the new environment are financial services, energy and renewables, retail, manufacturing and telecommunications, according to the company. Shetty highlights the example of going to put fuel in your car. According to him, the Cloud Garage would allow oil marketing companies to find ways to make the process from queuing up at a petrol station to making the payment for gas completely contactless — something a company would not have thought is an urgent requirement in the pre-COVID world. For telecommunication companies, <keyword id="8632828" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="aws-india">AWS India</keyword> and Deloitte have already built one possible product around customer value management. According to Shetty, the product can be designed around each individual customer, like a labourer, housewife or anyone else. It can also detect customers who may be unhappy with a particular service and find ways to bring them back. “This asset was built by AWS India and Deloitte. It is now being taken globally,” said Shetty. But, not all solutions have to be geared towards customers. Solutions can also be for internal use like making factories smarter using the Internet of Things (IoT) or make employees more productive. Proof of concept The solution is currently an exclusive partnership between AWS and Deloitte. The aim right now is to perfect this model and work out all the kinks before expansion, according to Puneet Chandok, the president of commercial business for AWS India and South Asia. “Many parts of Deloitte will also get inspired saying that if we can make this work for customers in this part of the world, then we can also take it to other parts of Deloitte globally,” said Chandok. AWS and Deloitte new ‘Cloud Garage’ in Mumbai will allow companies to experiment with their solutions before taking them live

According to an analysts with a ratings firm, "If all clearances are in place, five years is more than enough time to start production at a coal mine. Going by that calculation, if private coal producers can adhere to their production schedules, the imported coal could turn out to be in excess of requirement."

		It is important to note that Coal India Africana venture was floated by CIL in Mozambique after it acquired coal blocks in the African nation's north western Tete province. In August 2009, it won a five-year licence for exploration and development of two blocks.

The political change is important and is compulsion of time. If not now, it is not possible ever. Everything has to be changed. We will change everything." He appealed all to support him to bring in the change. "I am just a small instrument in the change. If I win then it is people's victory," he added. He said that in 2017 he had announced his decision to enter politics and contest in all the 234 Assembly seats. According to him, though doctors had advised against holding rallies, if his life goes for the benefit of people then he is not worried about it. Rajinikanth also said 40 per cent shooting is pending for his movie Annaatthe which he will complete. When logging on to HBO Max at the end of May, people noticed something strange. Usually when someone logs into the site, HBO asks them to verify that they are human by solving a captcha — you know, the little "I am not a robot" checkbox or the "select all squares with stoplights" image grids that prove to the website that you are, in fact, a human. But this time, when users logged on they were asked to solve a complex series of <a href="https://www.entrepreneur.com/business-news/user-slam-max-app-for-impossible-captcha-login-tests/453418" target="_blank" rel="noopener">puzzles</a> instead. The bizarre tasks ranged from adding up the dots on images of dice to listening to short audio clips and selecting the clip that contained a repeating sound pattern. These odd new tasks, ostensibly to prove users were human, haven't been limited to HBO: Across <a href="https://www.vice.com/en/article/xgwy5n/captcha-is-asking-users-to-identify-objects-that-dont-exist" target="_blank" rel="noopener">platforms</a>, users have been stumped by increasingly impossible puzzles like identifying objects — such as a horse made out of clouds — that do not exist. The reason behind these new hoops? Improved AI. Since tech companies have trained their bots on the older captchas, these programs are now so capable that they can easily beat typical challenges. As a result, we humans have to put more effort into proving our humanness just to get online. But head-scratching captchas are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how AI is rewriting the mechanics of the internet.Since the arrival of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ai-email-inbox-revolution-chatgpt-google-openai-shortwave-productivity-tools-2023-3">ChatGPT</a> last year, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ai-technology-chatgpt-silicon-valley-save-business-stock-market-jobs-2023-5">tech companies</a> have raced to incorporate the AI tech behind it. In many cases, companies have uprooted their long-standing core products to do so. The ease of producing seemingly authoritative text and visuals with a click of a button threatens to erode the internet's fragile institutions and make navigating the web a morass of confusion. As AI fever has taken hold of the web, researchers have unearthed how it can be weaponized to aggravate some of the internet's most pressing concerns — like misinformation and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ai-voice-generator-phone-scam-imposter-crime-money-cash-2023-6">privacy</a> — while also making the simple day-to-day experience of being online — from deleting spam to just logging into sites — more annoying than it already is."Not to say that our inability to rein AI in will lead to the collapse of society," Christian Selig, the creator of Apollo, a popular Reddit app, told me, "but I think it certainly has the potential to profoundly affect the internet."And so far, AI is making the internet a nightmare.<h2>Internet disruption</h2>For close to 20 years, Reddit has been the internet's unofficial front page, and that longevity is due in large part to the volunteers who moderate its various communities. By one <a href="https://news.northwestern.edu/stories/2022/05/unpaid-social-media-moderators/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">estimate</a>, Reddit moderators do $3.4 million worth of annual unpaid work. To do this, they rely on tools like Apollo, a near-decade-old app that offers advanced moderation tools. But in June, users were greeted with an unusual message: Apollo was shutting down. In the company's attempt to get in on the AI gold rush, third-party apps faced the chopping block. Apollo and other interfaces like it rely on access to Reddit's application programming interface, or API, a piece of software that helps apps exchange data. In the past, Reddit allowed anyone to scrape its data for free — the more tools Reddit allowed, the more users it attracted, which helped the app grow. But now, AI companies have begun to use Reddit and its vast reserve of online human interaction to train their models. In an attempt to cash in on this sudden interest, Reddit announced new, expensive pricing for access to its data. Apollo and other apps <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/reddit-client-apollo-shut-down-after-talks-got-ugly-2023-6">became collateral damage</a>, sparking a month of protests and unrest from the Reddit community. The company refused to budge, even though that meant alienating the communities of people who make up its soul. As data-scraping cash cows undermine the quality of once-reliable sites, a glut of questionable AI-generated content is spilling out over the pages of the web. Martijn Pieters, a Cambridge-based software engineer, recently witnessed the decline of Stack Overflow, the internet's go-to website for technical questions and answers. He'd been contributing to and moderating on the platform for over a decade when it took a sudden nosedive in June. The company behind the site, Prosus, decided to allow AI-generated answers and began charging AI firms for access to its data. In response, top moderators went on strike, arguing that the low-quality AI-generated content went against the very purpose of the site: "To be a repository of high-quality question and answer content." NewsGuard, a firm that tracks misinformation and rates the credibility of information websites, has <a href="https://www.newsguardtech.com/special-reports/ai-tracking-center/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found</a> close to 350 online news outlets that are almost entirely generated by AI with little to no human oversight. Sites such as Biz Breaking News and Market News Reports churn out generic articles spanning a range of subjects, including politics, tech, economics, and travel. Many of these articles are rife with <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ai-technology-chatgpt-openai-bing-threat-society-economy-social-media-2023-3">unverified claims</a>, conspiracy theories, and hoaxes. When NewsGuard tested the AI model behind ChatGPT to gauge its tendency to spread false narratives, it failed 100 out of 100 times. AI frequently <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ai-chatbots-chatgpt-google-bard-microsoft-bing-break-internet-search-2023-2">hallucinates</a> answers to questions, and unless the AI models are fine-tuned and protected with guardrails, Gordon Crovitz, NewsGuard's co-CEO told me, "they will be the greatest source of persuasive misinformation at scale in the history of the internet." A <a href="https://futurism.com/the-byte/experts-90-online-content-ai-generated" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from Europol, the European Union's law-enforcement agency, expects a mind-blowing 90% of internet content to be AI-generated in a few years. Though these AI-generated news websites don't have a significant audience yet, their rapid rise is a precursor to how easily AI-generated content will distort information on social media. In his research, Filippo Menczer, a computer science professor and director of Indiana University's Observatory on Social Media, has already found networks of bots that are posting large volumes of ChatGPT-generated content to social-media sites like X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook. And while AI bots have telltale signs now, experts indicate that they will soon get better at mimicking humans and evading the detection systems developed by Menczer and social networks. While user-run sites like Reddit and social-media platforms are always fighting back against bad actors, people are also losing a crucial place they turn to to verify information: search engines. Microsoft and Google will soon bury traditional search-result links in favor of summaries stitched together by bots that are <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/google-search-boss-warns-ai-can-give-fictitious-answers-report-2023-2">ill-equipped to distinguish fact from fiction.</a> When we search a query on Google, we not only learn the answer, but also how it fits in the broader context of what's on the internet. We filter those results and then choose the sources we trust. A chatbot-powered search engine cuts off these experiences, strips context like website addresses, and can "<a href="https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3442188.3445922" target="_blank" rel="noopener">parrot</a>" a plagiarized answer, which NewsGuard's Crovitz told me sounds "authoritative, well-written," but is "entirely false." Synthetic content has also swamped e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Etsy. Two weeks before a technical textbook from Christopher Cowell, a curriculum engineer from Portland, Oregon, was set to be published, he discovered a newly listed book with the same title on Amazon. Cowell soon realized it was AI-generated and the publisher behind it likely picked up the title from Amazon's prerelease list and fed it into software like ChatGPT. Similarly, on <a href="http://theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2023/06/ai-chatgpt-side-hustle/674415" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Etsy</a>, a platform known for its hand-crafted, artisanal catalog, AI-generated art, mugs, and books are now commonplace. In other words, it's going to quickly become very difficult to distinguish what's real from what's not online. While misinformation has long been a problem with the internet, AI is going to blow our old problems out of the water.<h2>A scamming bonanza</h2>In the short term, AI's rise will introduce a host of tangible security and privacy challenges. Online scams, which have been <a href="https://resources.sift.com/ebook/q2-2023-digital-trust-safety-index-ai-and-automation/?_gl=1*1wv15su*_ga*Nzk2OTIyNTY4LjE2ODk5NDIxNzY.*_ga_R8SV2EK5NZ*MTY4OTk0MjE3Ni4xLjAuMTY4OTk0MjE3Ni42MC4wLjA." target="_blank" rel="noopener">growing since November</a>, will be harder to detect because AI will make them easier to tailor to each target. Research conducted by John Licato, a computer science professor at the University of South Florida, has found that it's possible to accurately engineer scams down to an individual's preferences and behavioral tendencies given very little information about a person from public websites and social-media profiles. One of the key telltale signs of high-risk phishing scams — a kind of attack where the intruder masquerades as a trusted entity like your bank to steal sensitive information — is that the text often contains typos or the graphics aren't as refined and clear as they should be. But these signs won't exist in an AI-powered fraud network, with hackers turning free text-to-image and text generators like ChatGPT into powerful spam engines. Generative AI could potentially be used to plaster your profile picture in a brand's personalized email campaign or produce a <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2020/2/18/21142782/india-politician-deepfakes-ai-elections" target="_blank" rel="noopener">video message from a politician with an artificially reworked voice</a>, speaking exclusively on the topics you care about.And this is already happening: Data from a cybersecurity firm, Darktrace <a href="https://darktrace.com/resources/generative-ai-impact-on-email-cyber-attacks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">detected</a> a 135% increase in malicious cyber campaigns since the start of 2023, and revealed criminals are increasingly turning to bots to write phishing emails to send error-free, longer messages that are less likely to be caught by spam filters.And soon hackers may not have to go through too much trouble to obtain your sensitive information. Right now, hackers often resort to a maze of indirect methods to spy on you, including hidden trackers inside websites and buying large datasets of compromised information off of the dark web. But security researchers have discovered that the AI bots in your apps and devices might steal sensitive information for the hackers. Since AI models from OpenAI and Google actively crawl the web, hackers can hide malicious codes — a set of instructions for the bot — inside websites and make the bots execute it with no human intervention. Say you're on Microsoft Edge, a browser that comes built-in with the Bing AI chatbot. Because the chatbot is constantly reading the pages you look at, it could pick up malicious code concealed in a website you visit. The code could ask Bing AI to pretend to be a Microsoft employee, prompt you with a new offer to use Microsoft Office for free, and ask for your credit-card details. That's how <a href="https://greshake.github.io/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">one security expert managed</a> to trick Bing AI. Florian Tramèr, an assistant professor of computer science at ETH Zürich, finds these "prompt injection" attacks concerning, especially considering AI smart assistants are making their way into all sorts of apps such as email inboxes, browsers, office software, and more, and therefore, can easily access data. "Something like a smart AI assistant that manages your email, calendar, purchases, etc., is just not viable at the moment because of these risks," said Tramèr.<h2>'Dead internet' </h2>As AI continues to wreak havoc on community-led initiatives like Wikipedia and Reddit, the internet will increasingly feel like it's engineered for the machines and by the machines. That could break the web we're used to now, Toby Walsh, an artificial intelligence professor at the University of New South Wales, told me. It will also make things difficult for the AI makers as well. As AI-generated content drowns out human work, tech companies like Microsoft and Google will have less original data to improve their models. "AI today works because it is trained on the sweat and ingenuity of humans," Walsh said. "If the second-gen generative AI is trained on the exhaust of the first generation, the quality will drop drastically." Earlier this year in May, a University of Oxford <a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/2305.17493v2.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study</a> found that training AI on data generated by other AI systems causes it to degrade and ultimately collapse. And as it does, so will the quality of information found online.Licato, the University of South Florida professor, likens the current state of the web experience to the "dead internet" theory. As the internet's most-visited sites like Reddit become flooded with bot-written articles and comments, companies will deploy additional counter-bots to read and filter automated content. Eventually, the theory goes, most of the content creation and consumption on the internet will no longer be done by humans. "It's a weird thing to imagine, but it seems increasingly likely with how things are going," said Licato.I can't help but agree. Over the past few months, the places I used to frequent online are either overrun with AI-generated content and faces or are so occupied with keeping up with their rivals' AI updates that they've crippled their core services. In addition, the order has directed the bank board to examine the lapses and fixes accountability. The lender said the above measures should be considered for lifting upon satisfactory compliance with the major critical observations as identified by the RBI. HDFC Bank said “over the last two years, it has taken several measures to fortify its IT systems and will continue to work swiftly to close out the balance and would continue to engage with the regulator in this regard. “The bank has been taking conscious, concrete steps to remedy the recent outages on its digital banking channels and assures its customers that it expects the current supervisory actions will have no impact on its existing credit cards, digital banking channels and existing operations. The bank believes that these measures will not materially impact its overall business,” it added. Similarly, the <keyword id="10338236" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="broader-nse-nifty">broader NSE Nifty</keyword> touched a peak of 13,216.60 before trading 59.05 points or 0.45 per cent up at 13,172.80. Tata Steel was the top gainer in the Sensex pack, rising around 2 per cent, followed by Maruti, ONGC, HDFC Bank, Tech Mahindra, L&amp;T, HCL Tech and SBI. On the other hand, Axis Bank, Infosys, TCS, Bharti Airtel and M&amp;M were among the laggards. Having witnessed sharp run over last one-month, Nifty valuations appear to be stretched and any negative development may lead to a sharp sell-off, he said, adding that midcap and small-cap stocks should continue to outperform large caps in the near term due to improved earnings visibility and wider valuations gap. "US equities closed modestly higher led by improved prospects of announcement of fiscal stimulus before the year end. "Statement from the House Majority leader that Congress hopes to reach an agreement on a fiscal package over the weekend and likely to vote on it next week lifted sentiments. However, the quantum of fiscal stimulus would be something, which the market would be keenly watching out for," he added. Elsewhere in Asia, bourses in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul were trading with gains in mid-session deals, while Shanghai was in the red. India’s telecom arena is fighting an inner conflict of to be or not to be on the issue of <keyword id="6391709" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Net-neutrality">net neutrality</keyword>. In this crucial juncture, <keyword id="15491" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Airtel">Airtel</keyword> acted smart and introduced <keyword id="2796594" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="airtel-zero">Airtel Zero</keyword> yesterday where companies, including startups, can let users access apps for free. In effect, the app maker will pay for the customer's free usage to the operator. 
 
We have reported earlier that this will affect net neutrality. As per a news report in The Economic Times, this move has been severely criticized by the experts including Internet &amp; Mobile Association of India, whose spokesperson has said that, all apps should be made accessible to users on a non-discriminatory basis, not just a few. 
 In a bid to defend the same, Airtel's <keyword id="2798199" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Director-for-Consumer-Business">Director for Consumer Business</keyword> Srini Gopalan told the ET, “No bandwidth is allocated whether an app is on Airtel Zero or not and there is no impact on performance of the app.” He said Airtel has worked with 10-20 apps, including large eCommerce players and smaller startups on the platform on a pilot basis over a couple of months, which has resulted in a 65% drop in the digital spending. However, Airtel did not divulge the names of apps or companies which have signed up for Airtel Zero. 
 
While discussing with the financial daily, some experts pointed out TRAI’s lack of guidelines on this kind of collaborations. While Airtel has planned this in a major scale, this is nothing new in the Indian telecom scene. 
 In February, <keyword id="46907" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Reliance-communications">Reliance Communications</keyword> tied up with Facebook to launch internet.org in India, which provided access to 33 websites free of charge. In another instance, Uninor offered free usage of WhatsApp for Rs 1 a day and Rs 0.5 per hour for Facebook last year, and followed up with free Wikipedia for three months beginning April 1. This was another way of offering zero-rating plans, promoting unbridled access to the Internet, a senior executive had told the ET. 
 
A few days back, TRAI had floated a consultation paper on net neutrality, which implies that telcos cannot block certain apps or websites and promote a few.
