It comes with the Dell logo at the back, with the rest of the back being empty. It offers an elegant yet utilitarian look, which is what the laptop’s target audience is probably looking for. The hinge of the laptop is also well-built and feels very sturdy. Opening the Dell Latitude 7455 with one hand may be an issue sometimes as you may not find anything on the lid to hold onto. Unlike Apple’s MacBook which can be opened easily with a single hand, I often had to use both hands to open the laptop. <div type="image" title="Keyboard" msid="115848791" hostid="261" sizebytes="106226" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Dell Latitude 7455 keyboard&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The keyboard offers a smooth and velvety feel. The palm rest is also very soft and feels very comfortable to use. The company has offered rounded edges with the device, allowing you to easily rest your hands without any worries. The touchpad is large, which makes it easier to use and is very responsive. The keyboard is backlit and feels good to type on. As someone who has to type a lot, I had no issues while typing on the laptop. The laptop comes with a touch screen that is very responsive. It features an anti-smudge coating so you don’t have to worry about fingerprint smudges. The laptop is good for viewing content and working, thanks to its colour accuracy. It offers a 60Hz refresh rate, which is a bit disappointing considering laptops in this segment usually offer a higher refresh rate. <h2>Dell Latitude 7455 performance</h2>Coming to performance, the Dell Latitude 7455 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Platform processor. The laptop is available in a single variant with 16GB LPDDR5x 8400 MHz RAM and a 512TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD. It is able to handle multi-tasking with ease, without any issues. There was no stuttering or lag, despite many applications and tabs open at once. You can easily multitask on the device with several applications running at once. The laptop comes with Windows CoPilot+ and offers a dedicated CoPilot key, allowing you to get access to AI-powered features with ease. The laptop’s cooling system also works well and I did not notice any abnormal heating. The laptop is equipped with a 3-cell 54 Whr battery and offers excellent battery life, thanks to the Snapdragon chipset. During regular usage, I could get around 12 hours of usage on a single charge, which is great. <h2>Verdict</h2>The Dell Latitude 7455 is a feature-packed laptop that is aimed at professionals looking for a powerful laptop with a compact form factor and a sleek design. The laptop offers a premium design, powerful hardware, and a comfortable experience. But, he added, tensions remain.He said that though both parties have opened discussions about the border dispute, the underlying problem remains unresolved, and future flare-ups are likely.Donthi said the progress between the leaders could also be derailed if tensions between the US and China increase."This comes as a relief after four years of eyeball-to-eyeball troop deployment in the Himalayas. However, it's only the beginning," he said.

The Indian Navy carried out a three-day bilateral maritime exercise with Japan in the north Arabian Sea from September 26, 2020 to September 28, 2020. It was the fourth edition of India-Japan Maritime bilateral exercise JIMEX, which is conducted biennially. The last edition of JIMEX was conducted in October 2018 off Visakhapatnam in India. Naval cooperation between India and Japan has increased in scope and complexity over the years. Advanced level of operations and exercises took place during three days. It is indicative of the continued upswing in Indo-Japanese defence relations and continued efforts by both governments to work closely for a more secure, open and inclusive global commons, in accordance with international regulations. The helicopter carrier of Japan JS Kaga took part in the recent exercise. The Kaga and its sister ship the Izumo are being converted into aircraft carriers that will carry US-built maritime planes, the F35-B. India, Japan, China and South Korea are the countries now involved in what is seen in strategic circles as the Asian carrier race. The Australian Navy and Indian Navy carried out passage exercise in the East Indian Ocean Region from September 23 to September 24. The exercise involved participation of HMAS Hobart from the Australian side and Indian naval ships Sahyadri and Karmuk. In addition, an Indian maritime patrol aircraft and helicopters from both sides carried out coordinated exercise. The exercise, aimed at enhancing interoperability, improving understanding and imbibing best practices from each other, involved advanced surface and anti-air exercises including weapon firings, seamanship exercises, naval manoeuvres and cross deck flying operations. To boost mutual confidence and cooperation, a bilateral maritime exercise between Indian Navy and Russian Navy took place in the Bay of Bengal on between September 4 and September 5. "The exercise was aimed at imbibing best practices between the two navies," Indian Navy spokesperson Commander Vivek Madhwal told IANS. He also said that the exercise helped to further boost mutual confidence and cooperation between the two Navies and would reinforce the longstanding bond of friendship between the two countries. India ropes in all QUAD nations to participate in Malabar naval exercise

India, the US, Japan and Australia on Tuesday agreed to step up coordination in creating a free and open Indo-Pacific, amidst China''s growing assertiveness in the strategically vital region. The four major Indo-Pacific democracies, collectively known as the Quad, vowed to coordinate in ensuring peace and stability of the region, Kyodo news agency quoted the statement as saying. The in-person meeting of the foreign ministers of the ''Quad'' hosted by Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi took place in the backdrop of China''s aggressive military behaviour in the Indo-Pacific, South China Sea and along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Addressing the 2nd Quad ministerial meeting, Prime Minister Suga said a free and open Indo-Pacific is "widely recognised by the international community as a vision of peace and prosperity of this region," and that his government''s basic policy is to "further continue advancing our members to this end." Suga, who assumed the premiership last month, underscored the need to deepen quadrilateral ties, particularly as the novel coronavirus has spread globally. "The international community is facing multiple and various challenges. In the East China Sea, China has territorial disputes with Japan. The South China Sea and the East China Sea are stated to be rich in minerals, oil and other natural resources. They are also vital to global trade. Although the US lays no claims to the disputed waters, it has challenged China''s growing territorial claims in the South China Sea by deploying warships and fighter jets to assert freedom of navigation and overflight patrols in the strategically vital region. Meanwhile, Japan has lodged a protest against China''s creation of a digital museum laying out its claims to a group of Japan-controlled islets in the East China Sea, the government''s top spokesman said on Monday. "The Senkaku Islands have been recognised historically and under international law as an inherent part of Japan''s territory and we maintain effective control over them," Kyodo news agency quoted Chief Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato as saying at a press conference. "We have received a lot from other countries in the last few decades, like France, Israel, and increasingly so from the US, but we're still heavily Russian-oriented."But the Ukraine war has shaken up India's relations with the Kremlin.The US is pressuring India to help isolate Putin as punishment for the Ukraine invasion, and India is worried about the Kremlin's increasingly close relationship with China, which has backed Russia amid the Ukraine invasion."India-US ties are not just about Russia or the war in Ukraine," said Peri. "They're also about trade and strategic cooperation, which in some cases is also underpinned by concerns over China or the larger developments in the Indo-Pacific."<h2 id="4c3050d8-adb0-46af-b14f-2689f19f7caa">India sees Russia as a buffer against China's aggression</h2>India has long been concerned about China's increasing aggressiveness in Asia, with a Himalayan border dispute erupting into clashes that left 24 people dead in 2020.Indian and Chinese militaries have been engaged in a standoff on the disputed region of Ladakh since 2020. Although the countries have disengaged on several points, the standoff has continued.Peri said that is India dependent on good ties with the Kremlin to help mitigate that threat: "The standoff created new dynamics for India, and those are all factors which will be in Indian calculations on the stand it takes."Bhatia agreed that India has an eye on China when it engages with Russia. "While New Delhi accepts that Russia and China will gradually grow closer, it believes that maintaining a good relationship with Moscow will ensure that Russia remains neutral when India-China border tensions flare up," he said.It also relies on close ties with the US to help counter China's aggression, reviving the "Quad" dialogue with the US, Australia, and Japan in 2017 to counter China's threat.In the meantime, Modi will likely continue India's tightrope act, maintaining its alliance with the US while seeking not to alienate the Kremlin as it warily watches China's growing might.

It's also a competition between two very different political ideologies.<h2 id="6acd91a8-36b3-408f-85c1-259d5944f4e0">India is a flawed but thriving democracy</h2>India is the world's largest democracy. Its first elections were held in 1951-52 after it gained independence from Britain. Free elections have been held in nearly every election cycle since, with a coup in 1975 briefly threatening India's democratic status.It is a rare bright spot in a world where democracy seems to be in retreat. Even in the US, the global champion of democracy, former president Donald Trump is accused of launching an attempt to cling to power illegally after losing the 2020 election.<div type="image" title="Indian voters" height="683" width="1024" msid="110819479" hostid="261" sizebytes="88454"></div>"India isn't a perfect democracy but it is still a role model for developing nations, large or small. And given trends in some Western democracies, I would have to say that there are several things they, too, should be learning from India," said Jabin T. Jacob, an expert on India-China relations at Shiv Nadar University, India.India's democracy, though, faces a stern test under Modi, say critics. Global democracy watchdog <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-56393944">Freedom House in 2021</a> downgraded India's democratic status, saying Modi's Hindu nationalist movement had menaced journalists, attacked Muslims, and corroded civil liberties.Jacob said this week's results showed India's democracy remained resilient despite the pressures, while dealing a blow to a leader seen to have overstepped his authority."We have just seen an election in which the Indian electorate decided that their interests are best served by power shared more evenly among a set of political formations that represent diverse interests and aspirations. That is the essence of democracy," he said."The Indian electorate is a very mature one, and it has always intervened in a timely fashion against authoritarian tendencies in its rulers."It's unclear whether Modi will now double down on the nationalism he's championed or seek a more moderate path based on economic reform.<h2 id="c1fe728e-200a-4edb-8d77-94ea6111c952">China's rise comes at a high cost</h2>There are those in India, though, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.ft.com/content/daa87f88-ae0e-11e3-974d-00144feab7de">who have been astonished</a> at the speed and efficiency of China's rise to economic superpower status.China has become the world's second-largest economy, and the lives of millions of ordinary Chinese people have been transformed. Though India has made huge economic progress under Modi, it still lags behind.<div type="image" title="China high speed rail" height="644" width="1024" msid="110819477" hostid="261" sizebytes="117068"></div>"Perhaps the greatest challenge democracy faces in India is that is has failed to deliver the kind of sustained economic development enjoyed by neighbors like China over the last four decades. It has also failed to eliminate extreme poverty," wrote Chatham House <a target="_blank" href="https://www.chathamhouse.org/2022/04/democracy-india">analyst Gareth Price in 2022.</a>But with prosperity in China, has come reduced freedom.Since Tiananmen Square 35 years ago, China's Communist Party has rolled back many of the freedoms its citizens once had.Its current leader, Xi Jinping, has imposed a draconian surveillance state and is considered <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-xi-jinping-ai-wreak-havoc-america-world-economy-2024-6">China's most authoritarian ruler</a> since Mao Tse Tung.Dominic Chiu, an analyst with the Eurasia Group, told Business Insider that China's system had given it an economic advantage — but at a cost."China's one-party rule in the reform era enabled consistent long-term policymaking and economic planning," he said. "This benefited China's economy immensely when the leadership decided to liberalize markets, privatize industries, and open the country up to foreign investment." But, he said, China's repressive one-party system was also deterring investors. And with China's <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-falls-out-of-love-with-natural-diamonds-industry-struggles-2024-6">economy experiencing a steep </a>downturn, this poses a serious problem for its future growth.<h2 id="ebafe111-fa5e-49b8-95d3-f92a674d0da2">China and India vie for dominance</h2>Having achieved economic superpower status, China is now seeking to assert its power more aggressively both regionally and internationally.Tensions with India are increasing. In 2020, clashes along the countries' Himalayan border resulted in the death of 20 Indian soldiers and four Chinese.<div type="image" title="India-China border" height="683" width="1024" msid="110819475" hostid="261" sizebytes="158650"></div><a target="_blank" href="https://uk.news.yahoo.com/modi-mission-assert-indias-global-123002908.html">Analysts told BI</a> that building stronger alliances to counter Chinese aggression will be one of the core aims of Modi's third term.And its commitment to democracy hands it an important advantage, said Jacob."India's democratic status is critical for its international standing. It is a touchscreen display that offers a dynamic refresh rate of 60Hz and 120Hz. <div type="image" title="Display" msid="112267629" hostid="261" sizebytes="36348" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro display&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The Galaxy Book4 Pro comes with an anti-reflective coating on the panel. The laptop offers thin bezels with rounded corners. Samsung has always used excellent displays with its devices and this laptop is no different. The display offers a peak brightness of 500 nits, allowing you to easily use it outdoors without worrying about visibility. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass DX, offering you a good amount of protection. Like other panels from the company, the Galaxy Book4 Pro’s display offers excellent colour reproduction, good contrast and good visibility. Overall, the display is good for all users, from those enjoying content on the device to those creating content. <h2>Performance</h2>The laptop from Samsung is equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, which offers six performance cores, eight efficiency cores, and two low-power efficiency cores. The Intel Core Ultra is a new Meteor Lake chipset from the company and comes with Intel Arc graphics. The laptop is equipped with up to 32GB LPPDR5X RAM and 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. The new chipset from Intel is equipped with a dedicated neural processor unit that is aimed at easily performing AI tasks, which have become quite important these days. The low-power performance cores are aimed at improving the battery life. Samsung has added a lot of features that allow you to link it with your smartphone. You get features such as the ability to use it as a second display with the screen mirroring feature or the drag-and-drop feature. While this is good to have, do note that it only works if you have a Samsung smartphone or a Samsung tablet. As the device is packed with powerful hardware, I had no issues with performance. The laptop easily handles everything that you throw at it without any issues and multi-tasking is a breeze. As the laptop is not equipped with a dedicated graphics card, gaming is not one of its strengths. However, the Intel Arc graphics were able to handle a lot of games that are less graphic intensive with ease, allowing you to play games on the device. Coming to battery life, the Galaxy Book4 Pro is equipped with a 63Wh battery and supports 65W charging. As it is a lightweight laptop, the company has kept the battery size on the lower side. The power-efficient chipset ensures that you can get around 8 hours of battery life in regular usage, which should be enough for most users. <h2>Verdict</h2>The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro ticks a lot of the boxes, including a sleek and lightweight design, powerful hardware, excellent display and good battery life. It is a good option for those looking for a powerful laptop that is easy to carry around and are willing to pay a premium to get this combination.
