Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode released an official notification on <a href="https://iimcat.ac.in/per/g01/pub/756/ASM/WebPortal/1/index.html?756@@1@@1">Common Admission Test</a> (CAT) 2019. The interested candidates can register on the official website iimcat.ac.in. According to the website notification, the CAT exam 2019 will be held on 24 November 2019 across locations. And, registrations will begin on 7 August 2019. The last date to register for CAT exam is 18 September. The admit cards will be available on the institute’s official website on 23 October. The result is expected to be declared by the second week of January 2020. The registration fees for general categories is ₹1900 and ₹950 for reserved categories including SC, ST and PWD category candidates. The three-hour exam will include three sections — Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability. Each section will be allowed 60 minutes of time. However, students can not switch to a different section without completing the previous one. The exam paper will also include descriptive questions and the students will be allowed to use basic calculator available on the screen. “Tutorials to understand the format of the test will be available on the CAT website from October 16, 2019. Candidates from reserved categories — SC/ST/PwD — should have at least 45% marks in graduation. Last year, the CAT exam was held on 25 November. The IIMs witnessed an 8% rise in female applicants as well.

For the latest exam held on 25 November, the number of women candidates was 50% higher than that recorded in 2013 with as many as 84,350 registrations. That figure marked nearly 8% rise in the <a href="https://m.timesofindia.com/home/education/news/50-jump-in-girls-taking-iim-entrance-in-5-years/amp_articleshow/66818559.cms">women candidate registrations</a> from the previous year. With 12,000 more candidates this year compared to last year, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) entrance registered 6,300 female candidates compared to 78,009 from last year. <ul><li>The <keyword id="63618" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Institute-of-Management">Indian Institute of Management</keyword> (IIM), Calcutta, on Thursday, signed two Memorandum of Understanding with <keyword id="663053" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Carleton-University">Carleton University</keyword>, Canada and Montpellier Business School, France. </li><li>The move initiated under the Student Exchange Programme (STEP). </li><li>The five-year long pact with Carleton University will foster research programmes and collaborations. </li><li>To make India a ‘hub of higher education, the government will infuse ₹400 crores to build world class institutions in India.</li></ul>The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta signed agreements with two international universities — Carleton University of Canada and Montpellier Business School in France, the university said in a press release. The MoUs will initiate a Student Exchange Programme (STEP) which will focus on boosting teaching, research, and cultural understanding. “STEP is an integral part of <keyword id="78512" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIM-Calcutta">IIM Calcutta</keyword>’s internationalization efforts. It is aimed at providing IIM Calcutta students an opportunity to have learning experience from international environment,” Professor Prashant Mishra, Dean, New Initiatives and External Relations said. The five-year long agreement with Carleton University will foster research, collaboration, executive training and capacity building with scholarship programmes. “It is the intent of Indian Institute of Management Calcutta to establish precise academic and financial arrangements, and to support, as appropriate, the exchange of personnel between Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and Carleton University,” the university noted. The association between Montpellier Business School and Indian Institute of Management Calcutta will cater to postgraduate and doctoral students, along with teachers and research aspirants. As a part of this, the university will introduce joint executive development programmes, joint research programmes, joint conferences and workshops. “This helps them sharpen their practical skills, equips them with the ability to work in culturally diverse teams and contributes largely to their personal and professional development,” Mishra added.
