"The OLED screen is individually lit by a series of light-emitting diodes," the company added. The new product delivers better contrast, higher brightness, wider viewing angles, a broader colour range and much faster refresh rates when compared to standard LCD monitors." Cyient DLM IPO subscribed 7.6x on day 2 even with tepid QIB demand

Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs), who barely made any bids till the second day, subscribed to the issue by around 181 times — showing an oversized interest in the jewellery retailer. The company has allocated around 50% of the offer to QIBs. The 15% of the issue allocated to non-institutional bidders was subscribed 65 times. About 35% of the issue was available to retail investors, who subscribed 15 times the shares on offer. The price band of the offer has been fixed at ₹301-₹317 per equity share. It intends to raise as much as ₹405 crore through the IPO, through sale of equity shares with a face value of ₹10 each. An IPO note by SMIFS claims that the IPO is attractively priced, commanding a price to earnings multiple of 13.9x at its upper price band – lower than its peer average. “Senco is well placed to benefit from the expected growth rate in the industry, and the structural shift from unorganised to organised sector. The company has undertaken six criminal proceedings, while it has one such proceeding against itself. There are also 44 tax proceedings against the company. Its promoters have one criminal proceeding against them and four tax proceedings. “We have been subject to a ‘search and seizure’ operation by the income tax department in the past, which has resulted in taxation and criminal proceedings being initiated against our company and our individual promoter,” the company said in its RHP.

As many as 20 new companies listed on BSE and NSE, raising as much as ₹15,000 crore as of August. An IPO (Initial Public Offer) is the first sale of shares by a privately owned company to institutional and retail investors. Though it’s a far cry from ₹58,346 crore raised in 2022 — a lot of large and small companies alike have filed their draft red herring prospectus (DRHPs) with market regulator SEBI — promising an exciting year ahead. As per an E&amp;Y report, around 13 companies filed their DRHPs in April to June 2023, adding to the pipeline. Most active sectors in recent IPOs include hospitality &amp; construction, automotive &amp; transportation, diversified industrial products, and real estate. Sachin Bansal’s Navi Technologies is another fintech company that will join the likes of Policybazaar, and household brand FabIndia has also refiled its papers. In spite of a lot of investor concern around new-age companies, experts believe that India will see a lot of tech IPOs in the coming years. Mamaearth’s parent Honasa Consumer has also received a nod from SEBI for their IPO, even though it was delayed as of March this year. “By FY25, India is likely to have up to 40 listed/IPO ready new-age companies, which can grow to 90 by FY28. SaaS, B2C Product Companies, and FinTech are amongst the most promising categories to produce IPO-ready companies," Rohan Agarwal, partner at Redseer said in a recent report. These companies, Agarwal believes, have sizable revenues, sustainable growth, a strong EBITDA, and operate on defensible business models, making them strong candidates for IPO. Another Solapur based specialty chemicals company Balaji Specialty Chemicals also hopes to add to the many companies that have provided outsized returns to their investors in the last few years — as the sector is on an upcycle. IPOs galore – India’s primary market to remain buzzing in 2023

The company rolled out its IPO in September last year. Since then, its stock has surged nearly 25%. Zen Technologies has been around for a long time now. It is headquartered in Hyderabad and offers logistics drones, among other things. Its stock has surged nearly 150% in the last one year. RattanIndia Enterprises is known for its Revolt branded electric bikes, but the company has a wholly-owned drone subsidiary called NeoSky India. Its shares have surged over 160% in the last one year. Bharat Electronics, a government-owned company, makes a wide range of products, right from weapon systems to radars, naval systems and drones, too. Established in 2007, ideaForge counts Infosys, Qualcomm, and Exim Bank of India amongst some of its investors. Another drone startup, Skye Air Mobility, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Himachal Pradesh government to enable agriculture and healthcare logistics in the state. The difficult terrain of the state and low temperatures makes it difficult to address logistics needs, which makes drone deliveries even more lucrative. Vohra added that the recent developments and the government’s push could boost job opportunities in the sector by 25%. While there are not many counter-drone technology makers in India, few of these players include state-owned Defence Research &amp; Development Organisation (DRDO), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), ideaForge and Big Bang Boom Solutions. According to media <a href="https://indianexpress.com/article/india/bsf-it-ministry-companies-border-security-drone-attack-7386310/">reports</a>, there are over 500 companies that can help the country find a solution to its drone problem. All these companies may not make devices to harm or kill drones, but can certainly help in tracking them. There are also several military tech private companies in the country, including Adani Defence &amp; Aerospace and Kadet Defence Systems that make drones for surveillance and technology for other combat purposes; Atindriya Systems provides electronic systems and software solutions for defense, and Trijatta that develops radars and encryption devices for the military. The government of India has been aware of the potential threat that rogue drones could pose in the security of the nation and issued a <a href="https://www.civilaviation.gov.in/sites/default/files/Counter_rogue_drone_guidelnes_NSCS.pdf">National Counter Rogue Drone Guidelines </a>two years ago. The policy highlights that the drone factor should be taken seriously as unmanned aircrafts, consumer drones and do-it-yourself (DIY) drones are readily available over the internet. The policy, referring to the Israel-Lebanon war of 2006, highlights "In certain incidents, the small drones were also armed with explosive ordnance, to convert them into potentially lethal guided missiles, thus demonstrating the growing sophistication with which these potent warriors have found relevance in combat zones." Yet it has found itself short of any large scale counter-drone system. The Jammu attack in itself did not cost much, but it did highlight the urgency to invest in a counter-drone system that could prevent bigger attacks in the long run. In the coming months, the government of India wants to sign multi-million dollar [who’s saying this?] contracts with both domestic and foreign firms to procure these technologies. <div type="image" title="India has limited options for weapons that can take down enemy drones" msid="84836842" hostid="261"></div> The anti-drone technology has a massive headroom to cover Kruthi Aramanamada, head of marketing at ideaForge, explained to Business Insider that counter-drone technology is expensive and fairly new as it came into existence only a decade ago. The technology is not fully matured and there is still a lot of scope of research and development (R&amp;D) in this segment, she added. Meanwhile, Anshuman Tripathi, a drone technology expert who is also a member of the National Security Advisory Board, <a href="https://www.indiatoday.in/india/story/combating-the-drone-menace-india-needs-to-pick-up-pace-with-anti-drone-measures-1823517-2021-07-03">said</a>, "Drones are still evolving and solutions to handle them are incomplete. It's a matter of a few years when the technology matures and you can standardise equipment as you go forward." Even developed countries like the US, Russia and Israel are <a href="https://theprint.in/opinion/brahmastra/india-needs-to-shop-for-anti-drone-systems-we-are-already-late/688517/">pumping billions</a> of dollars into research and development of both drones and counter-drone systems. However, they have not found a foolproof system for both hard and soft kill as yet. Indian armed forces on a look out for counter-drone systems In June 2020, IAF floated a Request for Information (RFI) for Indian vendors for Counter Unarmed Aircraft System (CUAS), which can be used to bring down the rogue drone. Apart from that, other ministries and departments are also looking to sign such contracts. However, there have not been many insights on who may end up getting such contracts. One of the possible beneficiaries of this spree is likely to be Israel-based company Smart Shooter, a company that has been developing systems to help militaries track and engage moving targets. Indian Navy had placed an order to <a href="https://theprint.in/defence/navy-orders-israeli-smash-2000-plus-systems-to-tackle-drones-more-contracts-in-offing/562955/">procure </a>an unspecified number of Smart Shooter’s SMASH 2000 Rifle Sights in December 2020. However, the Indian Army wasn’t quite impressed with it after their trials in January 2021. They found that the system may work well for the Navy as they work in open terrain, but it is not feasible for other terrains. This highlighted another major challenge among the counter-drone technology — use cases. The counter-drone system is not a ‘one size fits all’ type of solution and has to be customised based on the criticality of the situation, Aramanamada added. The debate between indigenous or foreign technology remains Prof. P B Sujit, adjunct faculty at School of Engineering and Technology at BML Munjal University, said that the current counter-drone tech is limited and mostly sourced or licensed from other countries. He also noted that there are few Indian startups in the segment as well, but the quality of those solutions is undetermined at the moment. “The trust in Indian developed tech is low. With the history of India importing from Israel, it's natural to import this. Moreover Israel has good tech which has been field tested with Palestine stuff... So the confidence levels are right with the Israel tech,” he added. Apart from the Israeli plan, the government is also on a look out for the technology developed by domestic players and foreign public as well as private sector units, drone original equipment manufacturers, defence tech firms and Defence Research &amp; Development Organisation (DRDO). However, it is not being used. India has limited options for weapons that can take down enemy drones

Police using drones to identify key protestors⁠— and it may lead to harassment in the future

By Deepak PatelNew Delhi, Apr 13 () With India under lockdown to stem the spread of coronavirus, drones are proving to be a crucial tool in the functioning of law enforcement authorities and other government agencies which are deploying these Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for carrying out surveillance, sanitisation and to reach out to people, minimising the risk of infection for their personnel.While Gujarat Police is using 200 drones across the state to monitor people's movements, Delhi Police has deployed them to ensure people follow social distancing in Asia's largest fruit and vegetable wholesale market Azadpur Mandi. Municipal authorities in Madurai are utilising them to disinfect areas near the coronavirus wing of a city hospital.These are only a few examples of UAVs being used in the fight against coronavirus.However, government agencies aren't the only ones to tap into technology in these tough times, media organisations are also using drones to show people confined indoors the impact of the world's biggest lockdown."It is fair to assume that out of 20,000 drones registered with the government, about 450-500 drones are already being used all across India to assist different states and law enforcement agencies," Smit Shah, Director - Partnerships, Drone Federation of India (DFI) told .The DFI is an industry body that has companies like Asteria Aerospace, Quidich Innovation Labs, AutoMicroUAS, Aarav Unmanned Systems and Indrones as its members."Drone startups have come out and extended their support to the government on a no-cost basis. Most of the drone service providers are not charging for the services they are providing," Shah noted.India has remained under lockdown since March 25 to contain the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus, which has so far infected 10,815 people and claimed 353 lives in the country.On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the lockdown, which was originally for 21 days, will be extended by 19 days to May 3 as the measure has produced a significant outcome in containing the infection.Shah said drones are being used for carrying out a host of tasks like surveillance to ensure that people are maintaining social distancing, spreading awareness about COVID-19 in densely populated areas, spraying disinfectants and checking people's temperature.During the initial days of the lockdown, drones were used by the Jammu and Kashmir administration to announce restrictions on movement of people in Srinagar's busy Lal Chowk.Delhi Police is also using drones to monitor people's movements in Ghazipur Mandi, which witnesses a steady stream of buyers throughout the day.The municipal corporation of Warangal in Telangana has collaborated with a private company, Binford Robotics, to deploy its UAVs for surveillance and spraying disinfectants in the city.According to experts, as the number of coronavirus cases in the country mounts, the use of the UAVs is also expected to rise.Ankit Mehta, co-chair of a FICCI committee on drones, told , "Right now, the need of the hour is that the Ministry of Home or state police departments should take a call on whether they need drones with megaphones as a reinforcement tool, otherwise their containment strategies won't work.""This is the time to go for mass procurement and leverage the entire drone production capability of the country. It will take us two-three weeks to start delivering," said Mehta, who is also the CEO of ideaForge, a drone manufacturing company.He called for stepping-up the use of drones."Containment zones are going to be around for a while, and they are going to extend because it is a contagious virus. What is required is 24x7 deployment of drones for surveillance to enforce containment and not sporadic usage."My estimate is that we have 640 districts. If about 2,000 drones are inducted, assuming that each district needs around 3 drones, we can enable a broad level of persistent surveillance in the major containment zones," he said.Mehta said several state police departments are already customers of ideaForge and they had procured surveillance drones well before the lockdown."Some of these departments, which were planning to place orders with us, have asked us to deliver drones quickly since the beginning of lockdown," he said.DFI's Shah, however, recommended incentivising the approximately 20,000 drone operators who are registered with the Ministry of Civil Aviation."This would be much more cost-effective for the governments as against procuring new drones at this time as that would involve management of equipment, training programmes and capacity building, which might not be feasible as of now," he said.For media organisations too drones are proving to be a boon at a time when many parts of the country have been sealed and are out of bounds for outsiders.Remote-controlled UAVs allow media organisations to shoot videos or click photographs and cover various aspects of the lockdown.For instance, The Times of India's Chennai supplement on Sunday posted online a 5-minute video, which was shot using drones, showing how the once-bustling city has come to a standstill during the lockdown.A senior executive of a news organisation said the media companies in India generally use "micro drones", which weigh between one to two kgs."The drones are registered with the central government. MSMEs will leverage the model and the technologies that are hosted there, so that they also get elevated in the technology adoption scale,” Ravikiran Pothukuchi, the Director of Dassault Systemes told Business Insider in an exclusive interview. Dassault Systemes is already the second-largest player in the global market when it comes to computer-aided design (CAD) software after Siemens. A ‘common share infrastructure model’ is basically a stage where defence manufacturing companies and startups can come, toy with their ideas, and test their concepts — both in the virtual and physical world. “[The companies] take back their learnings and industrialise at a mass scale in their operations set up,” explained Pothukuchi.”That’s the idea that we’re discussing locally as well. There are some governments that have shown interest.” The French IT software services company already has a similar set up in the US state of Wichita in collaboration with the Wichita State University. The state of Wichita is the aerospace hub of the US, like Bengaluru. “Initially, governments are helping them to adapt to these technologies and we’ll become relevant to them at a later date. That is an investment we’re making along with the government,” the IIM-Bengaluru graduate told Business Insider. He hopes that the project to roll out the model will take shape within the next few months. The makers of the drone '<keyword id="116774" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rancho">Rancho</keyword>' seen in the movie <keyword id="6373971" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="3-idiots">3 idiots</keyword> have created several <keyword id="6370270" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="unmanned-aerial-vehicles">unmanned aerial vehicles</keyword> that are being used by Indian defence forces and in intelligence and surveillance ops. 
 
A team of four IIT alumni - Ankit Mehta, Rahul Singh, Ashish Bhat, and Vipul Joshi - started a company called ideaForge in 2007 to give their dream wings. They were working on developing technologies back in college and had many ideas they wanted to convert into products by the time they graduated.

In 2008, recognition from government came to them when they won a Micro Aerial Vehicle competition at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. Thereafter, they landed with several government projects, one of which wa NETRA – a vertical takeoff and landing UAV built on quadrotor configuration that the team developed in collaboration with Defence Research and Development Organisation.

 This UAV could take off from a small area and could fly over an area up to the height of 400m sending continuous real time videos of movements on the ground. It was this early prototype of NETRA that you had seen during the shoot of 3 Idiots. The movie director of 3 idiots had read about the drone and work by <keyword id="137562" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="IITians">IITians</keyword> in the newapaper. 
 
In 2009, ideaForge developed the world’s smallest and lightest autopilot drone and also came up with India’s first fully autonomous vertical takeoff and landing UAV. In this, a user feeds the GPS location of the required destination, which is then converted into command and instructions and the UAV reaches the location autonomously. 
 The UAV's made by this team are typically easy-to-use, so they can be used easily during emergencies. So far, they have been used by the <keyword id="6354416" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Army">Indian Army</keyword> to look for survivors after the deadly Uttarakhand floods back in 2013, to map the positions of militants during defence ops, for disaster management during the Nepal earthquake, and to manage crowds during the Kumbh mela. One of ideaForge’s <keyword id="94769" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="drones">drones</keyword> also helped in tracking a man-eating tigress in Uttarakhand.
