The series C funding comprises USD 15-million in <keyword id="21822065" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="equity-closure" source="keywords">equity closure</keyword>, as part of its ongoing USD 50-million round, which comprises USD 40-million in equity and USD 10-million in debt, the company said in a statement. The fresh capital raised under Series C, in which other investors existing investors 9unicorns, IAN fund, venture catalysts, WFC and others also participated, will be utilised to expand Zypp's fleet from 21,000 to 2-lakh electric scooters and extend its services to 15 cities across India by 2026, it added. The fresh investment will help Zypp in the last-mile delivery space with sustainable EV solutions, said Akash Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of Zypp Electric. "We are eager to expand our fleet and enhance our tech platform, driving significant growth across India. These funds will be utilised to drive the company towards the full path of growth along with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) profitability," he added. Further, Zypp Electric said it has forayed into the three-wheeler cargo business and claims of soon crossing 1,000 electric L5 loaders in its EV fleet and added that the company is set to cater to a wider range of business needs while maximising revenue streams, among others. According to Zypp Electric, it clocked Rs 325-crore revenue in FY 2023-24 and launched operations in Mumbai and Hyderabad recently. "In India, the last-mile delivery market is skyrocketing especially within urban areas. Zypp is operating its business as a pioneer in the EV motorcycle delivery market with competitiveness and this is the reason why we made the decision to invest," ENEOS was quoted as saying in the statement. Zypp Electric raises $15 million funding in Series C Round

Pune and Seattle-based Icertis is a startup that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to manage contracts on the cloud. Rather than keep track of compliance or payments on paper, everything is managed automatically by the company’s contract intelligence software-as-a-service (SaaS). The company said that it was valued at over $2.8 billion dollars (around ₹20,000 crore at current rates) in a press statement. There were so many different factors initially that struck my interest."<h2>After initial apprehension she felt joining the only women's championship was a 'no-brainer'</h2><div type="image" title="Jamie Chadwick drinks champagne." height="2199" width="2932" msid="87949551" hostid="261"></div>Since those early days, Chadwick has raced in eight different series, most recently winning her second <keyword id="12578514" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="w-series" source="Orion">W Series</keyword> crown where she is the undisputed champion.The W Series, which is a female-only competition, has been running for two seasons and both times, it has been Chadwick's name on the championship trophy.But she was not fully convinced that the W Series was the place for her when she first heard of the proposals."Initially it wasn't a dead cert that I was going to get involved in the series," she said."I heard it was announced and on the face of it being an all female series it wasn't necessarily something I felt the need to do. "I was racing against men equally and happy doing that so when it first came about I had my doubts but it was explained to me further and I realized that it's a fully funded series. In the first season we swapped cars each weekend, we shared everything. "There's prize money and we're supported to try and elevate our opportunities in the sport. The growth in valuation comes after it dropped to $8 billion last year from $10 billion in November 2019. Robinhood closes $200 million Series G funding round at valuation of $11.2 billion

Production lines are usually shut down, and the original manufacturers of components and spare parts have long ceased production. But the US military has also long suffered from major readiness shortfalls, as have NATO nations such as Germany. In 2020, fewer than 10 of the Luftwaffe's <a href="https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/germanys-air-force-has-serious-problem-115086" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Typhoon fighters</a> were operational.Particularly troubling was a November 2022 GAO study that analyzed readiness of 49 US military aircraft models between 2011 and 2021."Only four aircraft types, none of which were fixed-wing fighter aircraft, met their annual mission capable goals in a majority of those years," the watchdog warned.To some extent, this problem afflicts all modern military hardware. Complex weapons — whether fighters, tanks, or aircraft carriers — seem prone to reliability and maintenance issues or to shortages of specialized and expensive spare parts.But the F-35 has become the poster child for aircraft readiness woes. An <a href="https://www.gao.gov/assets/gao-22-105995.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">April 2022 GAO report</a> blamed that on a lack of spare parts, a lack of maintenance equipment, and on ground crews lacking the technical data they needed to maintain the aircraft.<div type="image" title="Crashed F-35A jet repairs" height="1333" width="2000" msid="96951422" hostid="261" sizebytes="140252"></div>The stakes are high. The Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps together plan to spend $20.2 billion a year for tactical aircraft development and procurement between now and 2027.But the services are trying to allocate those funds between three competing needs: adequate numbers of aircraft and capabilities in the near-term, ongoing affordability issues, and preparing for future needs.The Air Force's proposed 2023 budget already calls for delaying acquisition of 66 F-35s originally scheduled for 2023 until 2027, while the Navy is buying 31 fewer F-35s and delaying a service-life extension for the F-18E/F Super Hornet.The GAO urged the Department of Defense to conduct a comprehensive assessment of its investments in tactical aircraft, including risk analysis and how the various aircraft programs depend on each other. Ongoing headaches with F-35 fighter jets are rippling through the rest of the US military's combat aircraft fleet

New York-based Oxshott in September 2021 invested Rs 1,200 crore as part of the Series F round at Rs 285,072 per share, which is yet to arrive. "Additionally, Oxshott wasn't leading the round. In fact, they were one of the last investors to come in for that round. Out of the total Rs 3,600 crore, Rs 2,400 crore has already come in," a company spokesperson told IANS. Other investors in the round were Edelweiss (Rs 344.9 crore), IIFL (Rs 110 crore), Verition Multi-Strategy Master Fund (Rs 147 crore), and XN Exponent Holdings (Rs 150 crore). The Morning Context first reported that "money from <keyword id="14428557" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="oxshott-capital-partners" source="Orion">Oxshott Capital Partners</keyword> or related entities for an investment has not reached the company". It is common industry practice for investment funds to establish separate investment vehicles for compliance/internal structuring purposes to deploy investments. In the current case, the investor has requested that their investment be deployed through DRD Holdings SARL (instead of Oxshott Venture Fund X LLC). The fresh development came after another report recently claimed that some money in the Rs 6,300 crore private equity investment that BYJU's announced early this year has also not arrived. In March, BYJU'S had announced to raise about Rs 6,300 crore (around $800 million) from Sumeru Ventures, Vitruvian Partners, and BlackRock. <keyword id="1702989" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="byju-raveendran" source="Orion">Byju Raveendran</keyword>, Founder and CEO, was also part of the funding round and made a personal investment of $400 million. According to reports, the money from Sumeru Ventures "hasn't come in and questions are being raised about the fund's antecedents". However, BYJU'S said most of the funds have been received and the rest were on track. The company said that "its fundraising efforts are on track and majority of the $800 million has been already received". "The balance is also expected soon," a company spokesperson had told IANS. Meanwhile, the edtech giant said recently it has closed the nearly $1 billion acquisition of offline test preparatory services provider <keyword id="6380190" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="aakash" source="Orion">Aakash</keyword>. The company, in a statement, said last week that its payments to Aakash are "closed" and the "audited financial results are going to be announced in the next 10 days". BYJU'S has also been in the news for laying off employees and disgruntled parents complaining about poor quality of learning material and sales pitches by agents. Late last month, BYJU's announced to cut nearly 600 jobs -- 300 employees at its Toppr learning platform and another 300 at coding platform WhiteHat Jr. "In order to reduce redundancies across our organisation after multiple acquisitions, we had to let go of nearly one per cent of our 50,000+ strong workforce," said a company spokesperson. BYJU'S also lost a case in a consumer court, where a Bengaluru man sued the company in a consumer court for providing low-quality tablets and study material to his son and daughter who were promised <keyword id="10591" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="samsung" source="Orion">Samsung</keyword> tablets worth Rs 25,000. Further, the edtech major also backed out of its promise to convert the tuition fee of Rs 99,000 into EMIs. When the company did not pay heed to his demand of cancelling the subscription and refunding, he filed a case and won a refund of the fee of Rs 99,000 and a compensation of Rs 30,000, according to reports. Bitcoin is considered a fungible item because it has a measurable value across currencies, and can be bought and sold for equal value. Moreover, fungible assets can be broken up and sold in fractions, making it easier to exchange for other like-items."If you print 100 copies of the same photo, they become fungible; if we traded it, we would get the same thing in return (like a dollar bill)," says Gutter Dan, the co-founder of the NFT series <a href="https://guttercatgang.com">Gutter Cat Gang</a>. "On the same token, those 100 photos are not unique and could be duplicated or destroyed. With NFTs, the reverse is true: They cannot be duplicated or destroyed [because of the underlying] blockchain technology, and [because] each is purely unique." <h3>Fungible vs. non-fungible</h3>The key difference in fungible versus non-fungible assets can be found in how they're exchanged and traded. While fungible assets can be sold in different forms and exchanges, a non-fungible asset may require a little more time and care to be sold.For example: Let's say you're trying to sell a diamond ring. If it were a fungible good, you'd be able to sell either the diamond and metal separately - or both together - at an agreed upon price at multiple vendors for equal value. Some of the factors buyers and sellers consider include provenance (or who owned the item previously), how unique it is compared to others, and how the market for non-fungible assets have changed over time. In addition, non-fungible assets can not be broken up and sold in pieces: Its value is determined by the whole of the item. Some non-fungible assets include: <ul><li>Real estate: Selling real estate requires a property to be evaluated across several different factors, such as how much comparative homes have sold for, the demand for properties in the area, and how unique the home is. Modifiers like grading and autographs can drive the value higher. Any one-of-a-kind item that cannot be directly traded for something of the same value can be considered non-fungible, ranging from family heirlooms, digital collectibles, or art collections. A direct-to-consumer brand, BSC says it aspires to clock Rs 500 crore in net revenue in the next two years. India has a massive retail market that is projected to grow from $ 779 billion in 2019 to $ 1,407 billion by 2026 and more than $ 1.8 trillion by 2030, according to Kearney Research. Meanwhile, the online shopping segment had been witnessing a healthy growth and Covid came in and gave it just the push it needed. Within the online segment too, people are now looking for niche, more personalized products, also brands that are organic, give back to the environment or support causes, which has helped the growth of the D2C industry in the last few years. In fact, India’s D2C brands are growing across categories and it is estimated to become a $100 billion addressable market by 2025, according to Avedus. Riding on this trend, brands like BSC have been able to cast its net wide. To understand its journey so far and understand where he wants to take the brand in the next few year, we spoke to Deepak Gupta, COO at Bombay Shaving Company. He told us about the brand’s ambitions, its expansion plans and its marketing strategies. Excerpts: Q) We have just entered a new calendar year but let’s take a look back at the year that went by. How did the brand fare in 2021? In 2021, we have grown 3.5X in revenue and have become truly omni-channel. We have seen interest in the brand from smaller cities and towns, and have strategically built and invested in our offline channel presence, with one of the best start-up sales team's in India. Today we are at 25,000 selling points across India. One of the big highlights of 2021 has been the launch of Women's Hair Removal Business, with Bollywood celebrity <keyword id="8493788" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="alaya-f" source="Orion">Alaya F</keyword> as our brand ambassador. The women's business is already contributing to 20% of our revenues. Q) BSC has ambitious plans of global expansion… Yes. We are already present in Nepal, Bangladesh etc. and now plan to launch in US, Europe, GCC and Australia, as the brand sees demand, especially from the Indian diaspora. We see the International channel achieving salience for us in a span of 18-24 months, adding 10-15% to our overall company revenue. Q) Since you are already present in Nepal and Bangladesh, how have you been marketing the brand there? How different will your strategy be for Western countries? We have seen a few aspects of the brand resonate consistently across, especially with the Indian diaspora. Firstly, the sentiment of personalized gifting on memorable occasions, and secondly, the ingredient story of our products. Our products are enriched with superfoods and traditional ingredients. Thirdly, we make delightful micro innovations in our products to provide a differentiated experience to our customers, especially in the hair management category. Marketing and brand building on these three levers has worked well for us. Q) What are a few things that have helped BSC gain an edge in the market? We have realized the importance of offline as a channel for our category very early, and are adopting a forward-looking sustainable approach, unlike other <keyword id="11032237" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="thrasio" source="Orion">Thrasio</keyword> clones. We also continue to invest in our brand and content creation capabilities in terms of infrastructure and people. We have very short and sharp product conceptualization to GTM cycle, along with a data-driven mindset across everything we do. Q) How big is the men's grooming market in the country and what are the opportunities there? Our total addressable market is upwards of Rs 35,000 crore. We are already a force to reckon with in the hair removal and management space and have huge ambitions to grow our presence exponentially in the next 2 years. Q) Was 2021 a good year for you in terms of revenues? What are your expectations from 2022? We grew 3.5X in 2021 and aspire to clock Rs 500 crore in net revenue in the next 2 years. Q) What do you think it is about in your marketing strategy that you've got right? We are invested in top funnel brand building and awareness, beyond just performance marketing. We have identified brand ambassadors who suit the personality of the brand beautifully. We have a data-driven mindset and leverage D2C as an insights driver to understand changing customer preferences and respond to them swiftly. We are also foraying into hyper local marketing approach, which we had experimented with in 2021 with good success. Q) Going ahead, what are your broad areas of focus as a marketer to build a stronger connect with your consumers? We want to focus strongly on the 'hair removal and hair management' space for both men and women. Our aim is to build brand on the back of strong content, relatable brand ambassadors and memorable ideas. We also plan to scale up innovation in product development and ramp up our offline presence from 25,000 touchpoints to 200,000.
