<ul><li>Smartphone chip maker <keyword id="104695" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="qualcomm" source="Orion">Qualcomm</keyword> has teamed up with <keyword id="15492" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="vodafone" source="Orion">Vodafone</keyword> and France’s Thales to develop a new technology called <keyword id="899218" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="iSIM" source="Orion">iSIM</keyword>. </li><li>iSIM would allow companies to make more efficient use of the space inside devices like smartphones, smartwatches, virtual reality headsets and more. </li><li>Qualcomm demonstrated a proof of concept using the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 on Vodafone’s network. </li></ul>Chipmaker Qualcomm has collaborated with Vodafone and France-based Thales to announce a new technology called iSIM, as it looks to make more effective use of the limited space available inside smartphones, wearables and other modern gadgets. iSIM is an evolution of <keyword id="2752132" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="eSIM" source="Orion">eSIM</keyword>, which is currently available in several smartphones like the iPhone 13 series, Samsung’s Galaxy S20 series, and Pixel phones, among others. To demonstrate its use, Qualcomm and its partners <a href="https://www.qualcomm.com/news/releases/2022/01/18/vodafone-qualcomm-technologies-and-thales-deliver-world-first-smartphone">tested</a> a proof of concept unit of the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/mobile/news/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-3-review-foldable-phones-are-ready-for-the-mainstream/articleshow/87204758.cms">Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3</a> on Vodafone’s network, showing that this feature can work on existing telecom infrastructure as well. Qualcomm's new iSIM tech could bring better connectivity options to wearables, laptops, tablets and IoT devices

Tech giant <keyword id="6355629" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="google" source="Orion">Google</keyword> is reportedly launching a limited beta of its app to bring <keyword id="6355645" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="android" source="Orion">Android</keyword> games to <keyword id="6354717" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="windows" source="Orion">Windows</keyword> PCs. According to The Verge, <keyword id="2433049" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="google-play-games" source="Orion">Google Play Games</keyword> will be available in beta in Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan, allowing Windows PC owners to play popular Android games like <keyword id="7117737" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mobile-legends" source="Orion">Mobile Legends</keyword>, Summoners War, State of Survival and Three Kingdoms Tactics. Players in these countries will be able to sign up to access the beta and access Google's standalone app on Windows PCs. The tech giant is promising "seamless gameplay sessions between a phone, tablet, Chromebook and Windows PC", suggesting that you'll be able to easily resume games between multiple devices. "Players can easily browse, download, and play their favourite mobile games on their PCs while taking advantage of larger screens with mouse and keyboard inputs," Arjun Dayal, group product manager for Google Play Games was quoted as saying. "No more losing your progress or achievements when switching between devices; it just works with your Google Play Games profile," he added. Google Play Games will also include Play Points that can be earned while playing Android games on PCs. The company only announced its plans to bring Android games to PCs a month ago, but it's still not clear what technology the company is using to get Android games running on Windows PCs. The Google Play Games app will be a native Windows app that will not involve game streaming, though and Google is opening up a developer site today that should start to provide more information for game developers. The camera bump that was found on the S21 Ultra will be removed and the S22 Ultra will instead come with four cameras placed separately. The device is expected to come with Gorilla Glass Victus+ at the front and the back. The S22 Ultra is expected to feature a quad camera setup at the back – a 108MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and two 10MP telephoto sensors with 3X and 10X optical zoom support. On the front, the device is expected to sport a 40MP selfie camera. Another significant improvement will be in terms of fast charging. Brad Thompson, who runs a printing press in Michigan and is a paper vendor for county clerks in the state, said he put in his purchase orders far earlier than normal, but doesn't know when the paper will show up at his warehouse — or how much it'll cost when it arrives.Those costs are passed on to election officials, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/congress-could-invest-in-elections-in-dem-reconciliation-bill-2021-7">many of whom are already underfunded and understaffed.</a>"Cost is a huge issue for us," said Tammy Smith, an election administrator in Wilson County, Tennessee. Wilson said she "tends to order early" when it comes to paper supplies. But this year, she was delayed in printing and sending out wallet-size cards to voters with their registration information because of the redistricting process. "We now have a primary in June, so it does push the deadlines a little further, which could help," Davis, the ranking member of the House Administration Committee, said of his own primary in Illinois. "However, the products might have been cheaper for a March primary for our local election officials. The cost may have gone up," he said. "So it has its positives, it has its negatives. But the bottom line is...I'm afraid that many election officials might not be aware that there's there's a possible shortage." Commissioner Christy McCormick of the Election Assistance Commission said that election officials can adapt to paper shortages by ordering supplies well ahead of time and being flexible with materials and design for envelopes. But stocking up on supplies doesn't help officials in the many states <a href="https://votingrightslab.org/showdown-2022-the-state-of-state-election-law-and-the-fights-ahead/">that passed voting and election overhauls</a> in 2021 that require new voter registration or ballot request forms.Georgia's <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/georgia-new-election-law-means-for-voters-and-officials-explainer-2021-3">2021 election omnibus bill</a>, for example, added a requirement for voters to submit identifying information when applying for an absentee ballot and also requires ballots to be printed on more expensive special security paper. The secretary of state's office in Texas, which does not allow most voters to register to vote or request absentee ballots online, scrambled to print enough new registration forms and new absentee ballot request forms in time."All the old forms, which some people have stockpiled, including the League of Women Voters and a lot of campaigns and a lot of political operatives, have to be thrown away.
