New Delhi, Hyundai Motor India on Monday said it has received around 30,000 bookings for all new version of its <keyword id="10430038" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="premium-hatchback-i20">premium hatchback i20</keyword> in last 40 days. The company, which is the second largest passenger vehicle maker in the country, said it has already delivered 10,000 units of the model so far. The fourth generation of the i20 comes with both petrol and diesel powertrains and competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, <keyword id="42747" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> Altroz and Toyota Glanza. The 1.2-litre petrol manual variants are priced between ₹6.79 lakh and ₹9.19 lakh while the automatic trims are tagged at ₹8.59 lakh and ₹9.69 lakh. Similarly, the 1-litre turbo petrol variants with IMT technology are priced at ₹8.79 lakh and ₹9.89 lakh while the seven-speed DCT trims are tagged at ₹10.66 lakh and ₹11.17 lakh. The 1.5-litre diesel variants are priced between ₹8.19 lakh and ₹10.59 lakh. The company said all prices were introductory and would remain in force till December. Hyundai's new i20 receives 30,000 bookings within 40 days of launch

New Delhi, Apr 13 () Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Monday said its CSR arm Hyundai Motor India Foundation has donated Rs 5 crore to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Relief Fund towards its contribution in the fight against coronavirus. Commenting on the initiative, HMIL Managing Director &amp; CEO SS Kim said, "We stand united with the Government of Tamil Nadu to provide relentless support in these challenging times. This contribution is an expression of our solidarity with the people of the state which has been home for Hyundai for over two decades." A Rs 5 crore cheque was handed over to N Muruganandam, Principal Secretary to government of Tamil Nadu, Industries Department, by Hyundai officials, the statement said.Hyundai has planned a series of initiatives to contribute to India's fight against COVID-19. New Delhi, Feb 26 () Hyundai Motor India on Wednesday said it has launched a new variant of its premium hatchback Grand i10 Nios priced at Rs 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom). The new trim is powered BS-VI compliant 1 litre turbo petrol engine. The Sportz variant, with manual transmission, is priced at Rs 7.68 lakh, while the Sportz (Dual Tone) trim is tagged at Rs 7.73 lakh. "The GRAND i10 NIOS Sportz variant with the 1 litre Turbo GDi engine has been introduced for auto enthusiasts that aspire for power packed performance," Hyundai Motor India Director - Sales, Marketing &amp; Service Tarun Garg said in a statement. Mumbai, Jun 22 ( ) Hyundai Motor India on Monday signed an agreement with private sector lender ICICI Bank for online retail financing of its vehicles. Hyundai Motor India Ltd ( HMIL) is the first original equipment maker to provide tailor-made online car financing options on a single platform, 'Click to Buy', the company said in a release. Under the partnership, ICICI Bank has integrated its finance solutions online with the car maker's digital sales platform, it said, adding that through the tie-up, Hyundai will enable customers to avail an end-to-end composite online solution for car buying along with the required funding to purchase their car. Hyundai's designated platform facilitates end-to-end retailing of its cars online, making a new car purchase contactless, safe, convenient and hassle free, the release said. "With Click to Buy, Hyundai has offered customers the first ever end-to-end online car buying portal that is a one stop solution to customer needs. Through our partnership with ICICI Bank, we will fortify customer purchase journey from any remote location and enable real-time transaction with the most productive finance deals," said W S Oh, Executive Director for Corporate Planning at HMIL. With this tie-up, pre-approved customers of ICICI Bank, can directly apply for a car loan through 'Click to Buy' website and procure an instant loan sanction without having to physically visit the branch, the company said. Hyundai Motor considering buying GM India's Talegaon plant assets

South Korean auto major <keyword id="20190176" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hyundai-motor" source="keywords">Hyundai Motor</keyword> Group on Thursday said it is looking to expand the annual production capacity across <keyword id="19906087" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai" source="keywords">Hyundai</keyword> and <keyword id="19997865" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kia" source="keywords">Kia</keyword> brands in India to 15 lakh units per year, as part of its mid-to-long-term strategy in the country. Outlining the company's strategy for the India market, Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) Executive Chair Euisun Chung said the automaker plans to roll out more <keyword id="19962337" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="EVs" source="keywords">EVs</keyword>, while also utilising the country as an export hub for the neighbouring countries. Chung visited India on April 23 to review the group's mid-to-long-term strategies to solidify its position as a leading mobility provider. Hyundai Motor Group is expanding its manufacturing footprint in the Indian region with the establishment of an annual production system of 1.5 million vehicle units for Hyundai Motor India and Kia India combined, the automaker stated. Hyundai Motor India will start operating its Pune plant, acquired from General Motors last year, in the second half of the next year. Hyundai Motor is currently making improvements to the facility to create a production hub capable of building more than 200,000 units annually, it said. With the addition of the Chennai plant's production capacity of 824,000 units, Hyundai Motor will have an annual production capacity of over one million units when combined with the Pune plant, it added. Besides, Kia India's yearly production capacity will also be expanded to 431,000 units within the first half of this year. "Combined together, Hyundai Motor Group will have the ability to produce approximately 1.5 million units annually in India," HMG said. The group also plans to expand its EV lineup and create an EV ecosystem to accelerate customer uptake and expand charging infrastructure. It will also strengthen its SUV sales leadership in India, HMG said. Hyundai Motor India plans to unveil its first locally produced EV in India next year, it said. Starting with the mass production of its first <keyword id="21425421" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="electric-SUV-model" source="keywords">electric SUV model</keyword> at the Chennai plant at the end of 2024, the company plans to further produce five EV models by 2030, it added. Hyundai Motor India will also utilize its sales network hubs, expanding the number of EV charging stations to 485 by 2030, HMG said. Kia India will also start production of its local EV model in 2025 and plans to further expand its EV models, it added. The company will also focus on building EV charging infrastructure, it stated. "India is among the fastest-growing economies globally, and as this growth continues the strategic importance of Hyundai Motor India will only increase," Chung said while addressing employees in a town hall meeting. He further said, "by leveraging our strong reputation and competitive quality in India, we aim to expand exports to neighbouring countries, making India the global export hub to boost our regional market competitiveness." Chung said that by around 2030, the automaker expects to see a substantial expansion in the EV market in India. "In anticipation of this evolution, Hyundai is focused on developing locally tailored EVs aimed at establishing us as a leading global EV brand," he added. "We also plan to proactively build charging stations at strategic locations 'including dealerships' to facilitate the adoption of EVs," Chung said. One of the key issues flagged in the report is the valuation of Hyundai Motors India. The report noted that despite contributing only 6.5 per cent of Hyundai's global revenue and 8 per cent of its overall profitability, the Indian unit is expected to be valued at approximately 42 per cent of the parent company's market capitalization upon listing. This valuation discrepancy raises concerns about whether the IPO price is justified given the Indian unit's relatively modest contribution to Hyundai's global business. "Despite contributing only 6.5 per cent of the global revenues and 8 per cent of the profitability, Hyundai's India unit will be valued at approx. 42 per cent of the Parent Co.'s MCap on listing" the report added. From Hyundai's perspective, the move makes sense. In South Korea, Hyundai's stock currently trades at a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of just 5x, making the sale in India potentially more lucrative. The report argues that Hyundai is looking to take advantage of the relatively higher valuations in India. It said "From Hyundai's perspective it's a no-brainer as their stock in S.Korea trades at a measly 5x P/E" Hyundai Motor Group, which includes both Hyundai and Kia, is the third-largest automaker globally, having sold 7.3 million vehicles in 2023. While Hyundai Motors India does not have a stake in Kia Motors India, the parent company owns a controlling 34 per cent stake in Kia Motors globally and fully owns Genesis Motors, a luxury brand in South Korea.

The company recorded a new sales peak of 5,592 units of electric vehicles in the third quarter of FY22, which is a growth of 345% year-on-year. However, the excitement around the rising sales may not remain long as the company admits it is cautious as the semiconductor shortage continues along with rising covid cases. “Going forward, we expect the situation to remain fluid as the semiconductor shortage continues, instances of COVID begin to rise and underlying demand continues to remain under pressure,” said Girish Wagh, executive director at Tata Motors in an exchange filing. Tata Motors’ stock at nearly two-month high after selling more cars than Hyundai in December

New Delhi, Mar 2 () Auto major Hyundai Motor India on Monday said it has commenced bookings of all new version of its SUV Creta. Customers can now book the upcoming model through the company's website or at dealerships for Rs 25,000, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) said in a statement. "Over the years, Hyundai Creta has set new benchmarks, becoming an iconic brand name among Indian consumers and building a strong legacy with over 4.6 lakh happy customers across India. It is time for the Creta to set new standards once again," HMIL Director - Sales, Marketing &amp; Service Tarun Garg said. The model, which is scheduled to be launched on March 17, comes with five new BS-VI compliant powertrain options -- 1.5 litre petrol and diesel powertrains mated with both six-speed manual and automatic transmissions, and 1.4 litre turbo petrol which comes with seven speed dual clutch transmission. The new Creta will come with various features like voice enabled smart panoramic sunroof, advanced LED headlamps, blue link connectivity features, electric parking brake, Bose sound system (8 speakers), among others. Hyundai commences bookings for new Creta

New Delhi, Apr 16 () Hyundai Motor India on Thursday said it has handed over COVID-19 advanced diagnostic testing kits to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).The globally proven diagnostic kits worth Rs 4 crore have been imported from South Korea and offer high levels of accuracy, catering to the testing requirements of over 25, 000 individuals, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) said in a statement."These highly accurate diagnostic kits can help the government scale up testing efforts in affected regions and arrest the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in India," HMIL Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer SS Kim said.The South Korean automaker has already donated Rs 5 crore to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Relief Fund.It has also augmented the supply of ventilators and other respiratory aids such as the in-house developed Ambu Bag Actuator.Besides, the company said it is distributing masks and other safety kits to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.HMIL has also announced various initiatives for customers including extension of warranty, service timelines.
