In an effort to cement its position in the country, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=hyundai+motor+india">Hyundai Motor India</a> is planning to launch 2-3 new models every year till 2020. 
 
The second largest car maker in India wants one per cent growth in its market share each year with its <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=car+launch">car launches</a>. 
 "In the last two years we have launched seven models. We plan to launch 2-3 new models, including full model changes, every year continuously till 2020," said <keyword id="108829" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai-Motor-India">Hyundai Motor India</keyword> MD &amp; CEO BS Seo while inaugurating first dealership in Leh. 
 
Presently, Hyundai Motor India has more than 16% market share in the overall passenger vehicle segment with its models like <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=i20">i20</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=creta">Creta</a>. 
 
It is also developing models like a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=MPV">Multi Purpose Vehicle</a> (MPV), a small <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=SUV">SUV</a> and full model changes for its sedans Elantra and Verna to catch the Indian market. 
Hyundai is going to face competition as Suzuki also plans to roll out 15 new models by 2020. 
 
"We will keep bringing great products into the Indian market continuously to satisfy the customers here. We want to be the most loved and trusted company in the Indian market," Seo said.

Hyundai will make sure its vehicles rule Indian roads as it plans to launch 2-3 new models every year

Riding on increase in sales of the top three manufacturers – <keyword id="6912" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="maruti">Maruti</keyword> Suzuki, <keyword id="596" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hyundai">Hyundai</keyword> and <keyword id="6374147" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Honda-Cars">Honda Cars</keyword>, car sales jumped 17.9% in August. This is also the third successive month for a double-digit growth in car sales. 
 
Led by compact and utility vehicle segments, wholesale dispatches of Maruti Suzuki increased by 29.3% in the month to 98,304 units as against 76,018 units in the same month last year. 
 Propelled by new launches like <keyword id="2453418" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Elite-i20">Elite i20</keyword>, <keyword id="2044743" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Xcent">Xcent</keyword> and the Grand, Hyundai’s sale increased 19.2%. 
 
Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice-president – sales and marketing, Hyundai Motor India said, "We maintain a cautious optimism for a good festive season on the strength of new products, increase in demand for petrol cars and improving customer sentiments." 
 
Honda Cars India, too, maintained the momentum with an 88% increase in in domestic wholesale dispatches. 
 
Kumar Kandaswami, senior director, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India, said, "The spurt in growth seems to be more on account of the prevailing sentiment rather than on hard economic data, at the moment. There may be a tapering off of demand if the economic parameters remain weak in the coming months."

Car Sales Go Up By 17.9% in August

<keyword id="596" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hyundai">Hyundai</keyword> has finally revealed its most awaited third generation <keyword id="763332" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="i30">i30</keyword> hatchback. The car will be the first ever high performance model from the Korean automaker that will be launched under the ‘N’ brand. The car will reach the European showrooms by the early 2017. 
 
Though, the new third generation i30 maintains the design that one may find in the latest Hyundais but in addition it has sharper, edgier and cooler styling, all thanks to the Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. 
 
The new 3rd gen i30 has the same cascading grille as seen in the second-generation i10 or commonly known as the Grand i10. The car also has all-LED lighting (for both high and low beam), the headlight has three-projector setup, fog lamps, vertically placed daytime running LEDs (DRLs) with projector fog lamps. The car along with many other things also has an array of alloy wheel options - 15, 16, 17 inches. 
 
Looking at the interior of the car, i30 has symmetric layout for the dashboard with a five/ eight inch touch-screen infotainment system. 
The car carries a massive boot space of 395 litres. It gets better as the Hyundai hatch gets electronically adjustable driver’s seat with memory setting so that the driver don’t have to manually change the settings every time. 
 This is not it, as the Korean automaker has provided the 3rd gen i30 with inductive wireless charging for smartphones, <keyword id="2095799" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Apple-CarPlay">Apple CarPlay</keyword> and <keyword id="6355629" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Google">Google</keyword> <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> Auto. 
 When it comes down to protection the Hyundai i30 is packed with <keyword id="3325428" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Autonomous-Emergency-Braking">Autonomous Emergency Braking</keyword> (AEB), Driver Attention Alert (DAA), Blind Spot Detector (BSD), Rear-Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), High Beam Assist (<keyword id="312729" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="HBA">HBA</keyword>) and seven airbags including a knee airbag. 
 
The car is expected to be propelled by 11.4-litre T-GDi turbocharged petrol motor, which pumps out 140PS of top power and 242Nm of max torque. This beast of an engone is most likely to be paired with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic) transmission. Hyundai might add other options as well as a 1.4-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0-litre T-GDi three -cylinder turbo petrol and the bigger 1.6-litre CRDi diesel. 
 
With mouth watering features like this, the Hyundai i30 will definitely cost a premium and if gets a chance to run in the Indian Territory, the car would cost somewhere around Rs 14 to 16 lakh.

Hyundai Motor opens bookings for Venue N Line SUV for ₹21,000 ahead of its launch

NEW DELHI: Are escalating manufacturing costs and uncertain labour relations taking a toll on <keyword id="596" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai">Hyundai</keyword>'s plans to make India a global hub for small cars? The Korean car major has decided to discontinue small car exports to the coveted European region, opting to source from factories in Turkey and the <keyword id="36415" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Czech-Republic">Czech Republic</keyword>, even if Indian operations contribute to 15% of its global sales volumes. 
 
Hyundai, which is the biggest car exporter from India and accounts for nearly 45% of total shipments, will stop the sale of India-made i10 and the newly-launched Elite i20 to the European countries, a move that will have an immediate impact on the company's exports this year. 
 
The company, which exported 2.5 lakh units from India last year, expects this year's shipments at 1.9 lakh units, a decline of 24%. Rakesh Srivastava, senior VP (sales &amp; marketing), said the lower overseas shipments will help free production capacity for the domestic market, which is crucial as the company is launching newer models. 
 "We have already launched four new models over the last one year, and more are coming. While India still remains a strong export base, the first priority is the domestic market." However, <keyword id="93460" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai-India">Hyundai India</keyword>'s plans for this year show that the company will be saddled with excess production volumes as the company hopes to sell 6 lakh units this year (domestic and exports) even as it has a production capacity for 6.8 lakh units. 
 
Company officials admitted that sourcing the models from Turkey and the Czech Republic is more cost-efficient than exporting from India. Higher wage bills and logistics have increased manufacturing costs in India, prompting many companies to have a re-look at the global sourcing plans. Hyundai has long been seeking a rail link from its factory near Chennai to the port, but not much headway has been made here. 
 Labour relations have also not been very comfortable. While things have been quite on this front for sometime now, the company's plant has seen major tensions in the past, which had also disrupted production. The volatile history may have also prompted the company to opt for other locations as the European markets are among the key export regions and Hyundai would like to avoid any reasons that may lead to delays. Srivastava said Hyundai is focusing on markets like <keyword id="48890" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Latin-America">Latin America</keyword>, Middle-East, Asia, Australia and <keyword id="22501" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="New-Zealand">New Zealand</keyword> for export.

In an effort to prevent future thefts, Hyundai — which is also the parent company of Kia Motors — is giving out steering wheel locks and urging software updates, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-03-31/hyundai-offers-free-steering-locks-to-combat-tiktok-thefts#xj4y7vzkg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bloomberg reported</a>. "Hyundai Motor America is committed to ensuring the quality and integrity of our products," a Hyundai spokesperson told Bloomberg. According to Bloomberg, certain models of Hyundai and Kia cars lack an engine immobilizer, an electronic security feature that prevents a car from starting without a key. Thieves have been able to break into certain Kia and Hyundai models en masse, using USBs to start the car. After the trend first took hold over the summer, Hyundai began reimbursing car owners for purchases of steering wheel locks, as well as providing locks to police departments to give away across the country, according to Bloomberg. So far this year, more than 100 people have been under suspicion of stealing Hyundai and Kia cars in New York alone, according to Bloomberg. Hyundai's software updates and steering wheel lock giveaways come after 20 US state attorneys called on the company to enhance anti-theft measures. In a statement to Bloomberg, Kia said it will continue to "combat this rise in car theft and the role social media has played in encouraging it."

The Genesis sedan first launched in 2008, with a second generation introduced in 2013. Even while marketed as Hyundai models, the current Genesis cars carry very few of the company's logos. Instead, the cars are festooned with "Genesis" badging. Last year, Business Insider named the second generation Hyundai Genesis sedan one of the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/most-important-cars-of-2014-2014-12" target="_blank">most important cars of 2014</a>. The launch of the Genesis takes a page from the playbook run by Japan's large automakers more than two decades ago. That's a lot of cars in the all new Maruti Swift."
