After failed sale deals, rough one year, <keyword id="1960231" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Housing-com">Housing.com</keyword> is gearing up for another sale deal and this time it is in talks with Snapdeal and News Corp. 
 
Housing.com may seal the sale deal by the second quarter of 2016, depending on how it projects growth to its possible buyers and of course the best price. 
 
Housing.com’s rough weather started when its co-founder Rahul Yadav was fired over his misbehaviour. 
 
Since Yadav’s exit, Housing.com revamped top management and laid off several employees. 
 
Housing.com’s sale deal with Quikr also fell apart over terms and the investors also did not open their purse strings. 
 
Recently, Housing.com said it would close all business units including rental and commercial listings to focus on its home-buying and selling business. 
 
"At a time (when) capital is limited, we are hard pressed but need to allocate 100% of our resources and mindshare on winning the BUY-SELL market. In addition, we need to be much more efficient with our resources,” CEO Kothari had written to his employees.

Housing.com might be battered but it is not broken! Gears up for another sale deal

Purchasing home online initially seemed to be a far-fetched idea, but off late this has gained great traction as buyers are now carrying out multi-crore transactions in <keyword id="2906603" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Internet-based-real-estate-industry">Internet-based real estate industry</keyword>. Recently, a Mumbai resident spent Rs 4.5 crore to book a 4 BHK apartment at The Promont, Bangalore with <keyword id="6613497" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Housing">Tata Housing</keyword> online. The <keyword id="6354553" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="real-estate">real estate</keyword> firm sold another luxury unit in its project called Myst in Kasauli to an NRI customer for Rs 5.5 crore online, making it India's largest transaction in the online space. 

	Even India’s major e-tailer Snapdeal sold a Tata Housing unit for Rs 1.1 crore early this month within hours of commencing the sale. Later, the Delhi-based online marketplace Snapdeal claimed that this was its highest online transaction and the company sees. It further asserted that the frequency of such transactions is moving beyond a crore on its site.
 "The Rs 5.5-crore transaction is the highest ever in the Indian online space. We have tied up with <keyword id="1143302" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Snapdeal-com">Snapdeal .com</keyword> and <keyword id="1960231" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Housing-com">Housing.com</keyword> to sell our premium and value housing units,” a senior Tata Housing official told TOI. 

	He further added that “Tata Housing has sold over 1,500 units online, accounting for 25% of Rs 1,100-crore sales and expects that online sales will account for over 40% of revenues in the coming years with the tremendous growth of e-commerce."
 

	Apart from Tata Housing, other realty players like DLF, Sobha Developers, Godrej Properties, Mantri Developers and Purvankara are following suit to tie up with online retailers to grab a slice of the $45-billion organised property market.

	According to a Tata Housing spokesperson, a virtual walk-through the property in order to check out the neighbourhood is helping home-seekers to make informed decisions. He further added, “We offer premium properties online that are not available offline to get the customer's attention."

	News Agency PTI has reported that online shopping giant, <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword> has recently tied up with reality major <keyword id="6362997" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="DLF">DLF</keyword>. With realty developers like Tata Value Homes, Godrej Properties and <keyword id="215249" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Kolte-Patil">Kolte Patil</keyword> already in the kitty, Snapdeal would sell DLF’s apartments online and also offer 1 % discount to the buyers.

	Buyers can choose from about 50 flats in eight housing projects of DLF in a price range of Rs 34 lakh to Rs 3 crore. The available locations include New Chandigarh, Panchkula, Lucknow, Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi and Kolkata where potential buyers can book a flat by paying just Rs 30,000 as the booking amount.

	Though this is the first time, DLF and Snapdeal have partnered, marriage of eCommerce and real estate is nothing new. Tata Housing had already tied up with Google, Snapdeal, and Housing.com, while Puravankara had tied up with Google and realty portal 99 acres.com.

	"Digital marketing is fast emerging as the most cost efficient option to reach out to potential customers. Over a period of time, our customer segment is getting younger and younger. They belong to the digital era. Therefore, from a distribution point of view, digital platforms are one of the important outlets," DLF universal executive director - sales &amp; marketing Ananta Singh Raghuvanshi has told PTI.

	No wonder, this collaboration will help DLF to reach out to wider market across the globe, including NRIs willing to invest in real estate in India.

	PTI has further reported that properties worth about Rs 15,000 crore may be monetised by DLF under various projects to catalyse its cash flow and decrease debt. 
	 
	Snapdeal had launched its real estate category in August last year and as per Snapdeal, this category has shown much momentum amongst its buyers.

New Delhi, Feb 27 () Jason Kothari, who has the distinction of transforming several distressed Indian Internet firms, shares the turnaround story of his journey from a rebel, train-wreck kid to one of the top ten paid young executives in the country.As a college student at Wharton, Kothari scraped together money from family and friends to save his childhood favourite comic book company, Valiant Entertainment, from bankruptcy and bring it back to life. Jason Kothari reveals mantra of turnaround success in book

President of <keyword id="6355629" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Google">Google</keyword>’s enterprise business, ‘Google for Work’, Amit Singh hopes to “at least double” its business in India every year, stressing on how much the company invested in security to gain client confidence in its products. 
 As he also aims to bring the ease of working with Google apps and services to the workplace, Singh laid emphasis on <keyword id="6373689" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Cloud-computing">cloud computing</keyword>, saying it will win because of security. 
 
"Indian users far surpass mobile usage in many other markets. Bringing Android to work is supportive of that strategy," Singh told Economic Times in an interview. 
 
Singh added the company began focusing on the Indian market three-four years ago, beginning with Google apps such as Gmail and Drive, and moved to small businesses to make it affordable for them. 
 
Meanwhile, he said Google invested in gaining confidence, including independent third-party assessments of its security and data protection practices. 
 
Nearly 600 organisations and more than 10,000 employees are now using Google's first party, paid services such as Gmail, said Singh, who joined Google in 2010. 
 
He said he was surprised by the fast pace of adoption of cloud in the five years since he has been at the helm of affairs. 
 
As businesses around the world look to go digital and adopt cloud technology, Google sees an opportunity to expand into a market dominated by mobile users who prefer the Android platform. 
"While India started later because it was risk averse, the curve is much faster. (There's) start-up energy, people are genuinely excited about building new models with technology," he told ET. 
 
Google for Work can be deployed across Android devices from different manufacturers and exists as a work container separate from the user's personal use apps and services. This, the company says, can be an advantage over Microsoft Office 365, which is its biggest competitor in the first party services arena. 
 
“Microsoft is entering a new space; they're a great desktop-centric company. As you move to mobile first, cloud first, they're not either of those things yet. They are investing a fair bit, but their product is truly yet to become that," Singh told the financial daily. 
 
Having said that, Singh also said that Microsoft had an advantage in having a channel partner system built over the years, which helps the company reach out in larger numbers to small and medium businesses (SMB), a market Google is looking to tap. 
 
"We are looking at both SMB and larger enterprises as cloud acceptability in India goes up. With India pricing going up, we are creating awareness in tier 2, tier 3 cities... that Google is available as an alternative," said Singh. 
 
Google for Work has a sales force which includes marketing, support and operations functions. It has signed on customers such as Hero Motors, Royal Enfield, Housing.com, Bombay Dyeing, Snapdeal and Welspun. In October last year, Google for Work announced a partnership with consultancy PwC, a relationship Singh considers a big win for the business.
