Automaker <keyword id="19909974" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="maruti-suzuki" source="keywords">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> lndia has invested about Rs 1.99 crore in <keyword id="21061376" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="amlgo-labs-private-limited" source="keywords">Amlgo Labs Private Limited</keyword>, a technology-led startup. The startup operates in the area of data analytics, cloud engineering, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (Al), to assist companies in data driven decision making. With this, Maruti Suzuki will own an equity stake of over 6.44 per cent in the startup, the automaker informed stock exchanges on Saturday. The investment is being made through the Maruti Suzuki lnnovation Fund, an initiative to undertake strategic investments in startups which exhibit high levels of technological innovation. This is the second such investment by the company. Earlier, the company invested in <keyword id="21061374" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sociograph-solutions-private-limited" source="keywords">Sociograph Solutions Private Limited</keyword>, specialised in AI, in June 2022. "We have been working with startups since 2019, as a part of the Maruti Suzuki lnnovation Program. Aligned with the government's Start Up India initiative, we are actively working to help strengthen the startup ecosystem and encourage innovation to develop solutions relevant to the automobile industry," HisashiTakeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India. "Our investment in Amlgo Labs Private Limited will help us to further strengthen quality of new models, using advanced analytics and machine learning," Takeuchi added. Maruti Suzuki invests in machine learning, artificial intelligence startup Amlgo Labs

Passenger car major <keyword id="44883" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="maruti-suzuki" source="Orion">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> India Ltd had transported over 3.2 lakh vehicles in 2022 through Indian Railway and is setting up dedicated railway sidings at its facilities in Haryana (Manesar) and Gujarat, said a top company official. The company last year transported over 3.2 lakh vehicles using rail wagons, the highest in a calendar year since 2013 when the company got the Automobile Freight Train Operator (AFTO) license. "Going forward, we aim to further increase these numbers. For this, we are setting up dedicated railway sidings at our facilities in Haryana (Manesar) and Gujarat," <keyword id="13455711" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hisashi-takeuchi" source="Orion">Hisashi Takeuchi</keyword>, Managing Director &amp; CEO, said. "Aligned with the Government of India's aim to reach net zero emissions by 2070, we have enhanced our efforts to reduce carbon footprint in our business operations. Our strategy to increase the use of rail mode in outbound logistics has resulted in dispatching record 3.2 lakh vehicles using railways in CY2022," he said. According to him, the use of railway wagons instead of trucks has resulted in offsetting around 1,800 MT of CO2 emissions. "In addition, we have been able to save over 50 million litres of fuel during the year which contributes to enhancing the energy security of our country," <keyword id="333559" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="takeuchi" source="Orion">Takeuchi</keyword> remarked. The share of railways in carrying Maruti Suzuki's cars is on the rise and last calendar year it was 17.1 per cent up from 13.9 per cent/2.2 lakh units in 2021. The AFTO license allows Maruti Suzuki to fabricate and operate high speed, high capacity autowagon rakes on the Indian Railways network. Maruti Suzuki uses 40 specially designed railway rakes to transport vehicles across the country. Each rake has a capacity to carry over 300 vehicles. Maruti Suzuki to increase transport of cars through rail wagons, to set up dedicated railway sidings

New Delhi, <keyword id="6912" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti" source="Orion">Maruti</keyword> Suzuki India on Tuesday launched compact-format <keyword id="20024960" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nexa" source="keywords">Nexa</keyword> service workshops with plans to have 100 such outlets across the country by the end of next fiscal. Through this strategic move the auto major aims to bring the Nexa service experience to customers in non-urban centres, the company said in a statement. The first six centres inaugurated are strategically located in Ateli (Haryana), Charkhi Dadri (Haryana), Bankura (West Bengal), Dahod (Gujarat), Nirmal (Telangana), and Ooty (<keyword id="19896558" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tamil-nadu" source="keywords">Tamil Nadu</keyword>), it added. "With the growing similarities in consumer preferences in urban and non-urban centres, there is a notable increase in interest for our Nexa offerings from both regions," Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Managing Director &amp; CEO Hisashi <keyword id="20479960" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="takeuchi" source="keywords">Takeuchi</keyword> stated. Almost 30 per cent of the Nexa sales come from non-urban centres, he added. "To cater to these customers, we are introducing these compact-format Nexa service workshops. Our goal is to set up 100 such workshops by the end of FY 2024-25," Takeuchi noted. Having introduced Nexa Service in 2017, MSI has expanded its presence to over 390 service touchpoints, serving customers nationwide. MSI sells its models range through Arena and Nexa sales outlets. Models like <keyword id="20073693" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="grand-vitara" source="keywords">Grand Vitara</keyword>, Invicto and XL6 are sold through Nexa network while the others like <keyword id="20479959" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="wagon" source="keywords">Wagon</keyword> R, Swift, Dzire and Brezza are retailed through its Arena outlets.

The company currently does not offer any electric vehicles in the country. Maruti Suzuki’s new managing director and chief executive officer Hisashi Takeuchi during an <a href="https://gadgets360.com/transportation/news/maruti-suzuki-multiple-ev-electric-vehicle-models-planned-2896861">interaction</a> revealed that the company’s first electric vehicle (EV) will be released in 2025. Takeuchi added that the company’s first EV will be rolled out from its Gujrat plant and other factories will start producing EVs once the demand in the country increases. “We are a little behind our competitors in introducing the (EV) model to the Indian market, but we see that still, the market demand for those EVs is limited. Actually, sales of EVs in the Indian market are still very, very limited.” Takeuchi said. The company has been testing EVs using its existing platforms. As per Takeuchi, the company has replaced the internals of several cars, adding batteries and the motor to test the EVs in the Indian environment.
