<ul><li>Shares of <keyword id="160447" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hinduja-global-solutions" source="Orion">Hinduja Global Solutions</keyword> slipped 20% on Friday as investors were disappointed with the dividend amount announced by the company.</li><li>The company has declared a third interim dividend of ₹150 per share.</li><li>Analysts say the street expected about two times the dividend amount announced.</li></ul>Shares of Bengaluru-based information technology (IT) firm Hinduja Global Solutions crashed 20% in a single day as investors were highly disappointed with the company’s dividend announcement. The company has declared the third interim dividend of ₹150 per share for the current financial year FY22 along with a 1:1 bonus share issue, which means for every one share an investor holds in the company, he/she will get an additional share. However, this was below investors’ expectation considering the company had a good cash reserve after it sold its healthcare services business to Barings Private Equity Asia in August 2021 for an enterprise value of ₹8,906 crore ($1.2 billion). With this, the street expected two times the dividend offered by the company. “The company has around ₹8,000 crore of cash reserves at the moment and it has given a dividend amounting to ₹315 crore as dividend, which is not even 4% of cash reserves. The street expected a dividend of at least 5-10% of cash reserves,” Kranthi Bathini, director of equity strategy at WealthMills Securities, told Business Insider. In fact, shares of the company had risen about 19% since August, when the company announced the stake sale on expectation of a higher dividend. <div type="image" title="hinduja global" height="900" width="1200" msid="88751757" hostid="261"></div>“Dividend they have paid is much much lower than what the street was expecting. IT firm Hinduja Global Solutions tanks as street expected two times the dividend announced

General Rawat was speaking at the <keyword id="6707589" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Global-Dialogue-Security-Summit">Global Dialogue Security summit</keyword> on 'Contesting the Indo-Pacific for Global Domination' organized online by <keyword id="10415563" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="global-dialogue-forum">Global Dialogue Forum</keyword> in partnership with Global Dialogue Review and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung. In his keynote address, General Rawat said today India is "facing increased <keyword id="969118" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="security-challenges">security challenges</keyword> and the best guarantor to peace and stability is to have dissuasive deterrence." Though the Chief of the Defence Staff of <keyword id="9455912" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="the-indian-armed-forces">the Indian Armed Forces</keyword> did not mention India's ongoing standoff with China along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh for the last seven months, he alluded to the Asian neighbor in several references to the Indo-Pacific region. For nations like India, General Rawat said, the security of land and borders remains a primary concern. "Therefore, there is a need to develop integrated structures to ensure modernization programs to be undertaken by our armed forces based on the correct assessment of the nature of threats and challenges. In addition, we are also partnering with like-minded nations to ensure peace and stability in our region." "Our approach to security needs to shift from a unilateral mode to multilateral mode, which mandates increasing training, engagements with partner nations so as to fructify joint response in the future," he added. The US, he said, recognizes Indo-Pacific as consequential for its future, adding that similarly, Japan, Australia, France, the UK, Indonesia, and Germany also find the region of strategic importance to them. However, China's rise as a military and economic power has made the region highly contestable. Based on the challenges India faces as a rising regional power, he said, "We require structured a long time planning for capacity building and development of our defense forces. In a quest to building a stronger India, we need a peaceful and stable security environment." "We need to maintain strategic autonomy and cooperative relations with extra-regional powers, regional linkages. We need to build bilateral, trilateral and multilateral mechanisms like Japan, Australia and India (JAI), India-Asean and similar existing mechanisms to have the right balance in our strategic autonomy." Technology, he said, will play an important role in any nation's quest for supremacy, be it in the military or any other sphere of activity. Therefore, investment in research and development will determine the future course of action for any enterprise, he said. However, he warned, "Quest to acquire proprietary rights on technology must not deny benefits of development to the global community at large. It must, in fact, create linkages between the haves and have nots. Humanity must not be guided by profiteering alone but must consider an equal opportunity for growth for all." In the military, he said, technology must become the means of deterrence and not a source of destruction. "Technology must benefit mankind and not be used for destroying existing systems." General Rawat ended his address on a positive note saying that this is India's century. "Many across the world are bullish about India. It has the talent, demographic dividend, and vibrancy of culture," he asserted. Army chief calls on India's allies for 'dissuasive deterrence' against China in the Indo-Pacific

The last month of 2021 saw good hiring growth in India in sectors like travel and hospitality, retail and education, owing to the festive quarter and a rebound, a new report showed on Friday. The rebound was, however, likely to be hampered once again with the <keyword id="1609796" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="omicron" source="Orion">Omicron</keyword> variant spread in the country this month. According to the Naukri JobSpeak Index, the festive year-end marked an upswing in hiring activity over last year across all major metros. "While IT has continued to drive growth in hiring, it is heartening to see a comeback from sectors of hospitality and travel, retail, and real estate," said Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer, <keyword id="218117" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="naukri-com" source="Orion">Naukri.com</keyword>. Top metro cities saw growth in hiring when compared with December last year. Hyderabad led at +12 per cent (on-year), growth followed by Bengaluru (+11 per cent), Mumbai (+8 per cent), Pune (+4 per cent), and Chennai (+6 per cent). Delhi was flat and Kolkata de-grew by 3 per cent. "We see a lot of talent shifting back to their cities of work with most companies drafting their return to work policies. As companies continue to press the pedal on their digital transformation journeys, the demand for certain functional areas and sectors will keep growing," Goyal added. Among the emerging cities, Ahmedabad (+21 per cent) recorded the highest growth. Hiring for new jobbers and young professionals was steady in December as demand for freshers and professionals with 4-7 years of experience remained flat. Demand was slightly affected for professionals in the 8-12 years (-4 per cent) and 13-16 years (-9 per cent) experience segments, the report said. However, analysts believe that the fear of a third wave may hinder the company’s near term growth. “Emergence of third wave of COVID-19 would act as a key risk to the near-term performance affected by any lockdown imposed by various states and postponement of wedding season,” said analysts from broking firm Sharekhan. New Delhi, Feb 8 () Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS) has posted 93.7 per cent jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 71.1 crore for December quarter 2019.HGS logged a profit of Rs 36.7 crore in October-December 2018, it said in a regulatory filing late Friday night.The company saw its revenue from operations grow 5 per cent to Rs 1,335.7 crore in the quarter under review as against Rs 1,272.6 crore in the third quarter of 2018-19."HGS posted a strong revenue growth in Q3 FY2020...The growth was led by demand in both Healthcare and CES (Consumer Engagement Services) verticals across geographies," HGS CEO Partha DeSarkar said.While CES got a boost from recent client wins and the festive season, the healthcare business saw strong growth driven by a strong Open Enrollment season across the US, Jamaica, the Philippines and India, he added.In November 2019, HGS had announced its exit from the Indian Domestic CRM market by selling its business to Altruist.The transaction closed on January 31, 2020."This divestment is in line with our strategy to focus on driving profitable and high-value services-led growth. During the quarter, we continued to see traction in partnering with clients, both new and existing, especially for HGS Digital services," he said.The HGS Digital brand is the culmination of the company's sharp focus on innovation, technology expertise and client centricity, and will be fundamental to growth in the years to come, he added.The company's board has declared an interim dividend of Rs 15 per equity share for financial year 2019-20.
