There were over 60 separate doormats being sold and Amazon soon realised that the problem wasn’t limited to the Hindi religion but Christianity and Islamic religions as well with images of Jesus and the Holy Quran featured on floor mats. It’s not just Amazon The fascination of combining Hindu gods and western toilets isn’t limited to Amazon. In November last year, an Indian-American woman, Ankita Mishra, called out House of Yes — a pub a Bushwick, New York — on <a href="https://www.browngirlmagazine.com/2018/11/letter-to-nightclub-hindu-gods-bathroom/">her blog</a> for adorning their washrooms with images of Indian gods.

Netflix removed an Indian film after religious viewers criticized meat-eating characters

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fulfilling his promise made during campaigning for general elections last year. 
 
Modi had made a pitch to bring back Hindus, who are harassed and suffer in other countries, saying India was the only place for them. 
 
Now his government is planning to allow Hindu migrants, who come from Pakistan in India on long-term visas, to open bank accounts and buy residential properties even without Indian citizenship. 
 If this becomes policy and is implemented, <keyword id="2950824" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="hindu-migrants-from-Pakistan">Hindu migrants from Pakistan</keyword> as well as Afghanistan will be able to open bank accounts on the basis of their visa and residential permits issued by the Foreigner Registration Office (FRO) or the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO). 
 
Economic Times had earlier reported that the NDA government granted citizenship to over 4,000 Hindus from these South Asian countries, four times the number managed by previous Congress-led government. 
 
“The government is keen to extend these facilities to Hindu migrants from Pakistan because it considers these Pakistani nationals victims of persecution,” senior government officials familiar with this development told ET on condition of anonymity. 
 
The officials told the financial daily that the government may also allow Hindu migrants from the neighbouring country to open Non-Resident Ordinary (NRO) rupee account without RBI approvals. 
 
Presently, NRO accounts can be opened with banks and authorised dealers by anyone residing outside India. But RBI approval is needed in case of Pakistani and Bangladeshi entities. 
 
"There are various options on the table. We will examine them and also seek view of the home ministry regarding security concerns," a senior official told ET.

On March 18th, the group’s members started burning around 50,000 kilograms of discarded mango wood as part of a nine-day <keyword id="79690" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="ritual">ritual</keyword> aimed at purifying the air. The ceremony reportedly features 108 fire pits and involves the participation of around 350 Brahmin priests. It will be completed once 10 million offerings are burned in the firepits. The organisation’s vice-president, Girish Bansal, was <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/meerut/hindu-body-to-burn-500-quintals-of-mango-wood-for-nine-days-to-reduce-pollution/articleshow/63275405.cms">quoted </a>by the Times of India as saying that the burning of mango wood with ghee made from cow’s milk would make the air cleaner. When asked for a scientific explanation, he pinned the lack of evidence on the very fact that no research had been carried out yet. Another member of the organisation, Gyanendra Agarwal, took things a step further by saying that the ozone layer above India had less damage when compared to other countries owing to the regular occurrence of rituals.

However, there hasn’t been any significant progress on the issue. Religion usually takes precedence over the environment in India. As a result of bursting crackers on Diwali, the fall festival of lights, vast quantities of smoke are released. Last year, the Supreme Court’s move to ban the sale of firecrackers during Diwali was termed “anti-Hindu” by fringe elements. The holy Ganges, which plays host to the ashes of dead Hindus and ritual bathing, is one of the most polluted rivers in the world. If India can’t even save the water bodies that are venerated under Hindu tradition, there can’t be much hope for the rest of the environment.

It is believed that by 2020, Islamic State will occupy western Uttar Pradesh and to fight against them, the outfit is raising and training as many as 15,000 soldiers, who they claim, are ready to lay their lives. 
 
As per TOI reports, these camps are dotting western UP and from 8-year-old to 30-year-olds, young people from Dasna, Bamheta, Rori, Muzaffarnagar, etc are taking training in camps. 
 
Some camps are secretive and some are out in the open, teaching boys and girls, to be ready "for when the enemy strikes". 
 
One of the Hindu Swabhiman's leaders, Chetna Sharma, who is also a member of the VHP's Durga Vahini, told TOI, "Our motto is simple - catch them young. We have over 50 training centres all over western UP. Our students are from ages eight to 30. We don't give guns and swords to children straight away. For the first six months, we train them mentally. We teach them verses from the Gita. Hindus must not be afraid of death because we are reborn. The children here are fearless." 
 
Children at these camps say their mothers and elder sisters are threatened and they feel it is their duty to protect them. Some of them are of the opinion that they have taken up arms as the governments failed. 
 
Meanwhile, the police machinery and the administration claim they have no idea about it. 
 
IG Meerut Zone, Alok Sharma, told TOI, “We do not have any report on such activity taking place. I will certainly look into the matter.” Such is the hatred for Islamic State that Swami Narsinghanand Saraswati, the Hindu ascetic whose ideology fuels the outfit's work, told TOI, “I think an extremist outfit, like the <keyword id="174501" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="ISIS">ISIS</keyword>, should exist for the Hindus. The only answer to the ISIS is an HS - a Hindu State. We want to match their level of extremism and fight fire with fire. I don't have the means to build an organization of that scale but with the help of Hindus, who believe in my cause, I will achieve it soon. We have pistols and they have rocket launchers. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) also condemned Gandhi's remarks, claiming he had "attempted to portray Hindus as violent." Gandhi, the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, took a swipe at the ruling <keyword id="19894848" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="BJP" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="BJP" meta.hostid="153" meta.entityid="BJP">BJP</keyword> in the House on Monday, saying those who call themselves Hindus are engaged in "<keyword id="19972953" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="violence" source="keywords">violence</keyword> and hate" round the clock. "All religions and all our great men talk about non-violence and fearlessness, but those who call themselves Hindus only talk about violence, hatred and falsehood....Aap Hindu ho hi nahi (You are not Hindus)," he said. After Gandhi's comments, <keyword id="22222744" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Goa-CM" source="keywords">Goa CM</keyword> Sawant termed the Congress as arrogant. "This is INC's Nafarat ki Dukan! Calling Hindus 'Hinsak' is a brazen insult, disrespect towards Hindus. LoP @RahulGandhi must apologise, to the the House and Crores of Hindus all over the world," Sawant said on his X handle on Monday. "The arrogance, the audacity of INC and I.N.D.I leaders to mock the Sanatana Dharma/ Hindus is highly condemnable," he added. Demanding strict action against Gandhi, the HJS in a statement issued here on Tuesday said Congress leaders should clarify their stance on what they think of Hindus. It claimed the Congress has tried to introduce the concept of "saffron terrorism or Hindu terrorism". "The Congress has always tried to defame the Hindu community on a global level. Rahul Gandhi's earlier visits to temples wearing a sacred thread were deceitful, as he has now made it clear to the Hindu community," it said. The global Hindu community today is recognised for its ideology of universal peace and welfare, embodying the principle of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' or the world as one family, the right wing outfit said. "Labelling this community as violent or terrorist is an attempt to tarnish its reputation. Rahul Gandhi should feel ashamed of his ancestors instead," it added.
