The source said that the financial probe agency action was based on the complaint by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) case against Munjal. The DRI team had found foreign currency from Munjal's premises, the source claimed. According to media reports, the incident was first reported on Wednesday, and the cause is thought to be a short circuit at the power socket from where the electric scooter was being charged overnight. "When contacted, the customer explained that he heard abnormal cracking sounds and discovered that fumes were coming from the electric switchboard of the home, adjacent to the e-scooter and sparks were continuously falling onto the floor and a can of paint lying nearby," the company said in a statement. "By the time he went on to switch off the mains and get back to try and put off the fire, it spread and burnt the rear part of the scooter and some household belongings," it added. The company reportedly mentioned that its technical team later visited the spot and analysed the rear part of the scooter that was burnt. "The most probable cause of the fire was the AC phase and earth wires of homecoming in contact with each other (causing a) short circuit and the malfunctioning of the fuses that should have cut off in the event of such a short circuit," the company said. "We have also offered any help to the customer in replacing the burnt parts on a cost basis and thoroughly testing his refurbished scooter for roadworthiness," it added. Within digital, Hero Electronix has taken the content marketing route to build consumer trust and is also looking to tap into Instagram Reels now. Hero Electronix has also been focusing on expanding its presence in the market by acquiring new, emerging businesses in the consumer-technology sector. It acquired set-top box brand MyBox in 2015. In the consumer technology sector, I do foresee a wider adoption for connected devices in our daily lives as people increasingly work from home and businesses implement new solutions to safeguard their consumers. I am optimistic that in a year's time, the industry at large would have not only recovered but will continue to see a heightened demand for connected products and services. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Q. It's no longer enough to just keep channels of communication ongoing with consumers but also being relevant to their needs not only presents a big challenge but also an opportunity. The concept of one size fits all doesn't work anymore and neither does an inside out communication approach. It is evident that different consumer segments have different needs. Various members of the household from young ones to the elderly consume communication differently hence brand communication must be aligned to their needs. In order to tackle this challenge we tailored our communication approach to showcase real life use cases and benefits of our products across various life problems our consumers may be dealing with. For consumers working from home we communicated the benefits of our products for work from home use cases through our Qubo Video DoorBell which lets them view individuals waiting at the door without having to check on them in person. This also enables them to maintain social distancing and reduce their contact outside the safe confines of their homes. For business consumers we showcased use cases of our outdoor security camera and how it enables them to safeguard their shops/offices/clinics remotely to ensure business continuity for essential services. Overall our core focus has been to shift from conventional ATL/BTL activities to content based advertising. During a pandemic, consumers are shifting their focus to products and solutions which can safeguard their well being proactively rather than providing them with a sense of perceived benefit. It's extremely important for any brand to ensure that their brand communication mirrors their actions in actively helping or benefitting consumers to address their anxiety or concerns during a crisis such as this. One example of this was our partnership with Kareen Kapoor for Qubo Baby Cam. We leveraged her persona as a parenting influencer to communicate the salient benefits of our Baby Cam product to help parents alleviate their stress of managing household chores, work from home duties and taking care of their kids. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Q. If I were to look at my role between the 2 waves then the 2nd wave enabled us to step back and rethink our strategy even more. It also allowed us to connect with more of our customers to gauge the impact of our products and solutions in their daily lives. Some of them have even become our friends now. Talking to them has enabled us to understand and improve on many problem areas, bridging any communication gaps and using this feedback to improve our products and services on all fronts. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Q. Keeping the current situation and consumer sensitivities in mind, we decided to move away from traditional forms of advertising to a digital-first approach with a strong focus on content creators collaborations aimed at different consumer segments in order to build a more organic consumer engagement and drive top of the funnel engagement. We are tapping into our highly engaged base of 1000’s of consumers across India (metros and non metros) to drive product engagement, referrals and repeat purchase through CRM. Our presence on leading ecommerce platforms has also grown substantially which has allowed us to strengthen our relationships with consumers. Using marketing tools on ecommerce platforms, social media and content collaborations to educate consumers about our products and how it can enable them to lead productive and healthy lives has been a key area of focus for us to help people emerge from the pandemic in a resilient manner. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Q. Gone are the days when brands would need to spend large sums of money to run big budget campaigns on traditional mediums without any visibility on ROI. As a marketer and as a category creator brand, we have embraced a more experiential approach in our communications thereby doing away with traditional or conventional approach to marketing. In terms of communication, there has been a paradigm shift from a product-centric approach to a content-centric approach hence the role of content marketing, influencer marketing and a trusted content creator is much more pivotal for brands to help address the trust deficit between them and their consumers. Within the digital domain, the big trend has been a shift from static content to video based content, especially short form videos which are more engaging vs long form videos. Hence, we are looking to tap more into these emerging forms of content such as Instagram reels which are able to capture more of the consumer attention without overbudening them with long form content. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Q. We were surprised to see that a majority of our products on ecommerce platforms are now being ordered by consumers across non metros. Tapping into this massive yet rising user base will be key for us this financial year. Additionally, we are also focusing on our direct to consumer business via our website as an alternative to ecommerce channels. We are also doubling down our focus on tapping into enterprise consumers such as system integrators and even architects to enable wide scale adoption for our products across new or existing real estate projects. The COVID-19 crisis has enabled Qubo to create more consumer-centric products to cater to such needs. Despite the lockdown, we developed a new feature called “Qubo COVID-Guard”. The feature uses artificial intelligence to detect if individuals are wearing a mask or not. We believe that new-age technologies like artificial intelligence which can help keep people safe post the lockdown. Innovation even during tough times is our company ethos. The pandemic has accelerated our innovation in-house, which will bode well for the business operations at large in the coming months. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Q. These are key building blocks to build an engaged consumer base to create content that is relevant and that people want to engage with. Keeping this in mind as well as the context in today’s time, I believe relevant and empathetic communication is key to reaching audiences right now. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Q. Despite undertaking more precautions many in our team were impacted and unfortunately we lost a few talented team members to the virus. As a leader I have tried my best to be in touch and help all members in our team across all levels but honestly this was an extremely difficult phase to deal with. We shifted to a work from home model during the early days of the second wave and our first priority was to ensure the adequate mental and physical well being of our team members. In order to strike the right work life balance we undertook many new engagement driven projects to keep the morale of the teams high. Team members were also encouraged to take leaves sans any explanation and reach out to anyone in the leadership team for any help or assistance. Keeping all team members apprised of the evolving situation in our business was key to ensure that we tackled the pandemic with transparency which led to our team members innovate and come up with new ideas in order to tide over the challenges. Nonetheless, I must admit that it hasn't been an easy phase but thankfully almost all our employees have recovered and most importantly have been vaccinated.

GoPro Hero 13 Black and Hero launched starting at ₹23,990

Electric two wheeler maker <keyword id="195740" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="hero-electric" source="Orion">Hero Electric</keyword> on Monday said it will set up a Rs 1,200 crore two million units per annum mega electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing hub in Rajasthan. The company said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government at the Invest Rajasthan summit. According to the company, the proposed unit will be located at Salarpur industrial region over 170 acres and start production by the end of of 2023. "This mega manufacturing facility is part of our capacity enhancement to boost EV adoption across India. It will allow the state to spearhead clean mobility solution shift and promote ecological tourism practices," Naveen Munjal, Managing Director, Hero Electric, said. CEO Sohinder Gill said: "Green field facility of this mega size and large budget gives us the opportunity to introduce very energy efficient green manufacturing processes with a healthy blend of automation using robotic arms and the nimble-fingered skills of the local artisan workforce, using the clean solar energy that state provides." It also registered significant gains in market share in the second quarter (July-September) across product categories and geographies and expected to further build on this momentum going ahead, it added. The company said it has also increased inventory at dealerships expecting good retail sales during the Diwali festival. New Delhi, <keyword id="6357252" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hero-MotoCorp" source="Orion">Hero MotoCorp</keyword> on Thursday said it recorded highest-ever sales in a festive season by retailing more than 14 lakh two-wheeler units in the 32-day period this year. The country's largest two-wheeler maker achieved the sales mark between the first day of the Navratras and Bhai Dooj on November 15. Riding on robust demand across rural markets as well as steady retail off-take in key urban centres, the company registered a 19 per cent growth over the previous year, and surpassed its previous highest retail of 12.7 lakh units which was recorded in the festive period of 2019, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement. "Our strong portfolio of brands, scale of distribution and new launches done this year have helped in driving this growth across geographies," Hero MotoCorp CEO Niranjan Gupta said. The festive season is a clear testimony that rural is coming back to growth, which augurs well for the country in general and the two-wheeler industry in particular, he added. Hero MotoCorp Chief Business Officer (India Business Unit) Ranjivjit Singh said the record retail number was achieved due to the strong customer traction across markets, with good double-digit growth in the Central, North, South and East zones. The robust customer demand in the rural markets, in addition to the very positive sentiments in key urban centres, drove this record retail sales, he added. "With this robust retail sales, our post-festive channel inventory has now come down to its lowest level in more than three years. This has set us on a steady growth path for the rest of the fiscal year," Singh noted.

Hero Electronix sees immense potential in Mybox and its management team. Using its core competence in hardware and embedded systems design, Mybox is strategically focusing on fulfilling the demand of digitization in India, while simultaneously developing products for the world.

Hero Group enters electronics sector with Hero Electronix

Out of the 100,000 e-cycles sold in the country so far, Hero Lectro accounts for 70%.</li><li><keyword id="3912924" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="aditya-munjal" source="Orion">Aditya Munjal</keyword>, CEO of Hero Lectro speaks to us on the brand's journey so far, a few challenges and a few areas of focus for the brand and the industry to grow.</li></ul>While the pandemic and the ensuing lockdown threw a lot of curveballs at us, perhaps changing our lives forever, there are a few things it did that might turn out to have a positive impact in the long-run. Among many big and small changes, there has been a move towards sustainability and people are now more conscious about making lifestyle changes that not just help improve their lives but also help the environment. While the Western world has been big on cycling for years now, things are slowly picking up in India too, and the pandemic has given it just the push it needed. And with this uptick in cycling enthusiasm, the market for e-cycles is slowly heating up too. While still at a nascent stage in India, people are now opening up to give e-cycles a try. Identifying the opportunity in the space, Hero Cycles has entered the segment and coming up with e-cycles under the brand Hero Lectro. The brand sells e-cycles spanning 15 variants across multiple utilities including products with and without gears. It also provides solutions for commuting, recreation as well as last-mile delivery. In a recent conversation with Aditya Munjal, CEO of Hero Lectro, we tried to understand a bit more about the segment, where things stand in India and what the future looks like. The e-cycles industry and where Hero Lectro stands The e-cycle segment is still at a nascent stage in India but there has been a doubling of growth for the segment in the last few years. The market has roughly sold 100,000 e-cycles so far and Hero Lectro accounts for nearly 70% of that number, shared Munjal. The lockdown gave it the push it needed, with people rediscovering the outdoors and opting for cycling at a time when they were stuck at home and were looking for some kind of activity. While the first year of the pandemic saw a big surge in demand, growth for the segment has now stabilized, Munjal said. There has also been a steady evolution in the consumer profile of e-bikes. While initially, it was primarily cycling enthusiasts opting for e-cycles, in the last couple of years, many city consumers are also increasingly looking at e-cycles as a viable mode of conveyance to their work places or simply to work errands. In fact, the growth is no longer restricted to metro cities. “Currently, non-metros account for 6 out of every 10 bikes we sell. We are seeing Tier II and III cities really come up. And within metros, we have seen women increasingly opt for our products as well. Also, in metros, people staying within 15 kilometers of their workspace are starting to use e-cycles. People who would normally share rides or use public transport are now buying the products. Initially, they started by using it once or twice in a week but with time, they've started using the cycles for going to work every day. It's a natural trend where premium cyclists are seeing this as a new technology and revolution, so there's natural excitement,” explained Munjal. Currently, the brand is witnessing maximum excitement from premium cyclists. “We are also seeing a lot of enthusiasm around our products for work commute. We have just launched cargo and in my view, that is another segment that will bring in a lot of excitement along with numbers,” shared Munjal. How the government can help in the growth of e-cycles While there is growing enthusiasm among people for e-cycles, there are still a few roadblocks ahead. The government has been talking about the need for more sustainable mobility but the cycling industry has been kept out of key policies like production-linked incentive (PLI) or Fame 2. Demand in India also hasn’t taken off yet possibly because of the higher cost of the product, and this, Munjal feels is a problem that can be solved if the government includes e-cycles in its subsidy schemes. Talking about the kind of support the industry needs to give it the required push, Munjal said, “For us the responsibility is not just to grow the brand but also the segment. We have built a large, truly futuristic factory in Punjab, the idea was to cater to competitive supplies for e-bikes in India and abroad. Globally, we have to compete with decade-old manufacturing facilities in places like China, Taiwan, Cambodia, who have great benefits. So, one benefit that will make us competitive for the world would be the PLI. That’s a direct assistance which will really make the world see India as a true hub for buying e-bikes. The second task is to build demand in India. If the Fame 2 subsidies get extended to e-cycles, the will become more accessible to a lot of new people.” Focus areas ahead The brand is currently focusing on coming up with products that fill a need gap. Munjal said going ahead too, the brand will continue doing that while also figuring out ways of making the brand attractive for the younger audience. It has been changing its marketing strategy according to the audience they want to talk to. While it has been using digital to reach out to its target consumers, going ahead, it would also depend a lot on experiential, where a lot of importance will be given to people trying their products. “Our job is to create a desire for our brands and relating to the audience and their lifestyles today which is changing really fast. Our job is also to create great products and communicate about them in an aspirational manner. We are doing it already and going ahead too, we will continue doing it. Our aim also is to grow the segment on the whole,” said Munjal.

<keyword id="195740" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hero-Electric">Hero Electric</keyword>, the electric two wheeler maker from India, has announced that it has entered into a pact with online platform Paytm to launch its new bike 'NYX', which would be priced at Rs 29,990 on-road. 
 
The product will initially be launched in 15 cities across India, and will be followed by availability of e-bikes across all the local dealerships of Hero Electric. 
 "Amid growing awareness about sustainability, we have decided to launch the <keyword id="3388786" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hero-Electric-NYX">Hero Electric NYX</keyword> on World Environment Day to underline the importance of eco-friendly modes of transport. We are eyeing a target of 1000 units within the first two weeks of launch," said <keyword id="2436380" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sohinder-Gill">Sohinder Gill</keyword>, CEO Hero Electric. 
 "Paytm has accounted for 5 per cent of the pan-India sales of Hero Electric in the last month. We are expecting a similar demand for NYX on our platform," Paytm Vice president <keyword id="2807104" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Renu-Satti">Renu Satti</keyword> was quoted saying.
